cat bass Cat. Two Girls, Three Cats, Congratulations you go

Welcome to Two Girls, Three Cats. I'm Jenna, I am Sammy.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
I love that intro.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Not really I did.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Happy International Women's Day, Janna.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Happy International Women's Day.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Can I just say you're one of my favorite women?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Oh and you're one of my favorite women.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Now as women with cats, Yes, there is a bit
of a stereotype the crazy cat lady, the crazy cat lady,
and I want to know what you think about that.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
I feel like there's so many negative connotations around it
that I want us to reclaim. Crazy cat lady. Yeah,
you know that stereotype. I mean even Jessica Rowe, for instance,
who we love, Yes, a friend of the show, she
refers to herself as a crazy cat lady. It wasn't
until she started saying that that I realized, why are
there so many negative connotations around that term? Because you know,
(01:02):
with media stereotypes and all that, why can't we reverse
that and like admit to being in love with cats?
Speaker 1 (01:09):
You know what, this is what we're here for. I
feel like that is our calling in life exactly. We
will put here to turn the crazy cat lady stereotype
on its head. Sure we are females, Yes, that's that's us.
Sure we have cats, we sure do. Sure we love
cats so much that we have a podcast about them,
have tattoos about them, wear clothes with them on, have
(01:31):
photos of them.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
You know, a tad crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
So sure to some people that might sound crazy. To me,
it's just a passion.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
It's normal. It's just something that we love.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Cats are life. I love that cats are life. So
I feel like that's our job here at two girls
to cats, to turn that stereotype on its head. I
don't know how I feel about the crazy cat lady.
It feels to me like, you know, back in the
day when people used to say, I'm having a blonde moment. Yeah,
it feels like that to me.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah, But I feel like with the blonde moment, it's
kind of been left in the past. It's not as
prevalent today as.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
It was, and people have moved on because they're like,
that's probably.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Not exactly right to say that exactly. So hopefully, hopefully
the crazy cat lady stereotype moves on as well.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
I hope so I think just because you're a female
who likes cats, and look, people that do like cats
really like cats. Yeah, but also people that like sports
really into sports exactly. It's just another thing. So from
us at Two Girls, Three Cats, if you are a
crazy cat lady, let's just say you are listening to
the right podcast. We're going to reclaim it. We're going
to turn it into a positive. Let's do it. Happy
(02:39):
International Crazy Cat Lady Day. There we go.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
I love that you're a crazy Catley
Speaker 1 (02:46):
