I've been there and, like many, still feel some of those challenges today. Well, it doesn't have to be something to be feared, but it should be more of a glad willingness to share the love of Christ with others because of what He did for us. The episode of 2Days...

Without doubt, Christians around the world have suffered persecution throughout the ages. Many experience suffering for their faith even in our times as well. Nigeria has come into the spotlight recently mainly through a couple of unexpected sources: Bill Maher and President Donald Trump. Both shared strong words regarding the current situation, along with the struggles that began in Nigeria around 2009. Many have lost their lives,...

This October 31st marked 508 years since Martin Luther posted the 95 Theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. In the many years since this world-changing event, the Protestant/Evangelical church has gone through many evolutions. Some were times of great revival and others were times of suffering, wars, and into the 1800s, many new denominations were formed. Instead of recognizing the pagan Halloween day, it&a...

Times have become turbulent it appears once again in our nation. With a recent school shooting in Minneapolis, some politicians and pundits once again hurled anger at those who pray for people in deep distress after tragedy in our country. This is an unhealthy and unhelpful response from leaders, who really should consider that this nation has been driven to prayer in times of national emergency throughout its history from the Pilg...

Jonathan Edwards, in the eyes of many in the Christian faith, remains the greatest theologian America ever produced. Unfortunately, many tie Edwards to a particular sermon he preached in Enfield, CT, in 1741 and to this day label him as a "hellfire and brimstone preacher" only. This is vastly untrue. This episode of 2Days Denarius takes a look at the conversion of Jonathan Edwards in his own words, along with a few quotes...

In our lives as Christians, we often overlook God's purpose for trials, testing, difficulties, among other challenges He may bring our way. One of the greatest challenges in all of Scripture is found in Genesis 22 when Abraham was tested by God to give His son, Isaac, in sacrifice. It's clear Abraham never lost his trust even in the midst of pain of potential loss. And after God's provision of a ram for the sacrifice...

What are the characteristics of effective prayers and praying? Well, one of them is praying biblically in accordance with the will of God from Scripture. Few were equal or better than this than the Puritans. One of the greatest devotionals I've ever read and meditated upon is titled, "The Valley of Vision: A Collection of Puritan Prayers & Devotions," edited by Arthur Bennett. It is an inspirational collection of...

Without question, Jonathan Edwards is the greatest pastor/theologian in American history, and certainly one of the greatest in church history. Many, when they think of Edwards, believe he was no more than a "hellfire and brimstone preacher" because of his sermon, "Sinners In the Hands of an Angry God" that they read while in high school or college. Nothing could be further from the truth on this matter. Edwards ...
