This bi monthly posting, or as I call it, Toad in the Hole Day, will introduce you to my life. This stuff actually happened to me. I post my recollections so my family will have an accurate account of the many stories that have been told about me by others. This is what really happened no matter what you have heard. Almost all of these stories have been given a name by me and the other people that have been involved. My friends and family will tell you, "I did not believe anything Maxx said until I was involved in one of these off the wall encounters". Hence the name "3 Tales Maxx" because I find if I tell more than three stories at one time people think I am lying. This is my autobiography and it is not my fault.
I have many memories about my family’s hunting expeditions. Hunting was a way of life for me. One of my earliest and fondest memories happened in our kitchen at home after midnight.
I am dumb. Sometimes I don’t realize what is happening till much later. This happens when something good is happening to me and I can’t believe it. The only thing worse is making a fool of yourself afterwards.
You may already know about my fear of hospitals. It is horrifying for me. This may shed light on why I have this fear. One time an orderly asked me to leave the hospital, and I was sober.
Tis the season. Yes, the holiday season but, it causes me to reflect on things. I have already told you about one miracle but there are more. I am blessed.
Everyone has holiday memories. They might be happy, fun, or not so happy. I marred into a very large close-knit family. They take turns hosting a holiday meal. The last time Alice and I hosted; 32 family members attended. Stuff happens and I want to tell you about it.
A person’s car can mean a lot of things to them. Transportation, status symbol, investment and more. I used to work in the auto industry and loved it. Here I learned the ins and outs about cars. Over my lifetime I have owned many cars. Some better than others. This is an homage to all of them.
The family is resistant to change. So, it is easy for something to become a family tradition. Example, for the last 40 years I must supply the knife to cut the turkey at thanksgiving at the in laws house. It is now just expected of me. This podcast is some of my family’s traditions.
Alice comes from a large family. I have talked about them in the past. Here I want to probe a bit deeper. I want to share just a few experiences about being married to Alice, my In laws and how the Catholic religion has influenced the situation.
So, I am sure if you have listened to any of my podcasts you find them unusual to say the least. I decided to tell you about some stuff that if I did not live it, I would not believe it. This is more than coincidental things happening. I am sure the greater powers had something to do with it.
Alice and I have been through a lot in life. This memory is great for me but could have been a disaster for Alice if she swallowed. She spit instead.
The norm for a young man is to have some fun in the summers between school years. Well things have a way of working out for the best even if you don’t think it at the time you are living it. I love my summer hand jobs now that I am older and don’t get them anymore. They gave me an education like none other.
Healthcare is important. I do not like to go to the doctors for any reason. Now I have discovered the why. I never knew the origins of this fear until I did this podcast. It is enlightening.
You never know when you are making a memory. I have lots of great memories of Buck and Chuck. I hope they have fond memories of me and Alice. I am sure they do.
I travel a lot. This is a fact. Air travel is odd these days to start with. You meet all kinds of people from many different places. This can lead to some unusual situations on a plane especially in the first-class cabin.
Some days I just want a boring vanilla lifestyle. I do like adventure and a bit of adrenaline. Just not always. I do not go looking for these odd things in my life they find me. I have my share of the vanilla lifestyle. I look at it this way sometimes my vanilla lifestyle is interrupted by some intense short periods of high emotions.
Dating can be a great thing. The search for a sole mate can be as rewarding as finding them. This journey will also most likely be a humbling one. You will experience the gambit of emotions and feelings. No one can give another an outline that will prove successful. That is not what this is about. This episode is about dating experiences of myself and others. Think about them and use the information to move forward in your life...
I have this gift. I was a great salesman just because I can identify with others and make them my friend. Even if they do not want to be my friend. This can be considered a gift and curse all at the same time. Just because I can talk people into something, after it happens, it can be an awkward thing. Today, I try to refrain from this but sometimes it just happens without me knowing till I am in that awkward place.
I have been fortunate to play golf in many different countries and many different types of courses. All have one thing in common, the game can beat you up. You need to practice in order to get good at the game. Golf can be frustrating, exhilarating and rewarding.
This is a story about my family, friends, and me. It takes place on Mother’s Day weekend. It was not a great weekend for me or Alice. I thought Alice left me. I thought some friends would never speak to me again. There is much more that went sideways over this four day stretch that I leave to the podcast. I am not proud of it, but one positive has emerged. The Rubber Glove Story is a contributing factor to make me record my l...
This concludes season one. I hope you enjoyed something you heard. I would guess you have formed some type of an opinion about me. My ego is not necessarily a bad thing. I will get in trouble if I leave it unchecked. This is an attempt to let you peak deeper into my psyche. Be careful there is a lot to process.
