Rex Heuermann, a 61 year old architect from Masapequa, New York, is charged with the murders of six sex workers whose bodies or remains were located in the Gilgo Beach area of Long Island.  Heuermann hasn't been charged in the deaths of five others located in the area  Investigators are also looking into the disappearances of women in Las Vegas bearing similarities to the Gilgo Beach murders.

On February 24, 1978, five friends traveled from Yuba County to a basketball game in Chico, California.  For various reasons, the men were described as being vulnerable for targets for those with bad intentions. The men never return home, and Jack Madruga's abandoned car is located 70 miles away.  It was clear that something was very wrong.
