Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now you might recall a few weeks ago we'd spoken about,
or it was probably a little bit longer back, we've
spoken about an exhibition that a wonderful territory and was
trying to get off the ground. Now I am so
pleased to say that that exhibition is now going to
be happening. And joining me on the line is Georgia Palitis.

(00:21):
Good morning to you, Georgia.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Good morning Katie.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Lovely to have you on the show. Now, Georgia, last
time you and I spoke, you were in the midst
of trying to make sure that you could get this
wonderful exhibition up and going. It's happening this weekend, or
it's kicking off this weekend. Isn't it this Friday? Yes?

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Yes, finally it's happening tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
So tell me a little bit more about it, and
to those listeners who don't know what it is, tell
us a bit more so.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Dwin Diversity Series basically celebrates territorians and where we come
from and all of the special people. Basically, it's all
different backgrounds, different stories, different quirks and qualities, and even
a few little territorians who are part of it as well.
So now forty eight on display, and forty eight of
those portraits also have stories about what they would like

(01:15):
to tell everybody.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Beautiful stuff. Now, can you give us a bit of
a Are you able to give me a bit of
a sneak peek of maybe a couple of those territorians.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Yes, So one of my favorites is Julio. He the
famous man who rides across Micliff Jetty every single day
pumping the beautiful music he has every afternoon. So Julia's
a part of it. And yeah, I've actually lost count
of how many people, but yeah, Julia's one of them,
and he's very well known.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
There's also a couple of other people, such as Serena King.
She's a lovely and indigenous artist. She's very talented. And yes,
you've just pretty much lost count, Katie. It's how many
people are part of the series. But it's very exciting and.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
They're beautiful photographs, so people are going to be able
to come in and see those and find out a
bit more about these amazing territories.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Yes, yes, so it's inside the dow and Gallerria. I've
been very I'm very grateful to the darl and Galleria
and activate Dune for helping me out making it possible.
It's free entry, so everyone's allowed to come. There's no
tickets required, you could just walk in any time. The
details on the opening times are listed on my Facebook page,

(02:30):
but it does open up five thirty pm to seven
PMS for our afternoon.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Georgie, you must be so happy that this has been
able to happen. I know it's been a real love
job for you, you know, in the sense that you've
done all of this off your own back and really
done it because you wanted to showcase the wonderful place
at the Northern Territory Is and all of our incredible people.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Yes, yes, it's great. It's taken four years, so I'm
really happy that it's finally out there. Just unfortunately, as
we spoke last time, people had passed on, so their
families will be now able to see everything in real
life in front of them, so all of their relatives
can also come along and remember the good time.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Beautiful stuff. Well, Georgia, congratulations on the exhibition. So we
just remind our listeners again once more where they can
come along and view it.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
It's inside the Daryl and Galeria within Smith Street Mall.
So the first opening celebration is tomorrow afternoon from five
point thirty pm to seven pm. You'll get to meet
a lot of the members inside the series, and then
it continues on for just a week.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Wonderful stuff. Congratulations, I'm looking forward to going and checking
it out next week.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Thank you so much, Katie.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
