I run through SEC Week 7 picks with blunt honesty, from Auburn’s grim outlook against Georgia to a real upset call with Kentucky at Oklahoma. We also break down what decides Alabama at Tennessee, why Florida at Texas is a pressure cooker, and how Missouri at Ole Miss could turn into a quarterback-driven shootout.

Auburn goes into Knoxville and loses 24-14, but the score doesn’t tell the whole story. I walk through why the defense is the only real silver lining, from holding Tennessee to three points in the first half to forcing mistakes and keeping the game alive far longer than it deserved to be. The turning point isn’t one busted coverage or one missed tackle. It’s the reality that Auburn’s offense ...
Week 5 CFB predictions get decided by a few repeatable truths: who can run the ball, who can rush the passer, and who can survive when the weather wrecks the script. We call out the games with real pressure attached, from Clemson needing offensive competence to Auburn needing to let its quarterback actually be a dual threat.

Auburn drops a 44-39 game to Florida, and the scoreboard does not tell you how the night actually felt. Florida controlled the flow from the opening kick, while Auburn spends four quarters chasing answers that never fully show up. If you’re an Auburn Tigers fan trying to figure out whether to blame the defense, the offense, or coaching, I connect the dots and explain why it looks like a total team breakdown.
Auburn beats Baylor 17-16 and somehow the loudest reactions sound like a loss. We’re not doing the box-score hot take game today. We’re asking the real question: what does it mean when a program that’s spent multiple seasons finding ways to lose finally finds a way to win, even with turnovers, penalties, and stretches that look rough?.
Then I pivot to “things I might have been wrong ab...
The CFP committee keeps telling us “schedule matters,” but the selections rarely prove it, and that gap is exactly where fan trust goes to die. I open with a blunt problem: a nine-win team without a conference title hasn’t been clearly shown a path, even when the résumé looks tougher than teams with more wins. So I build a straightforward, repeatable way to rank teams that doesn’t rely on mys...
The loudest college football argument isn’t going anywhere: is the SEC actually better than the Big Ten? I take Nick Saban’s comments head-on and separate “best team” from “best conference,” because a national title can’t be the only proof point.
From there, I get into the messiest part of the debate: preseason strength of schedule rankings. When ESPN drops a to...
Alabama doesn’t do rebuilding years, so when a national voice questions whether Kalen DeBoer is the right fit, I have to answer it head-on. I ook past the clip wars and ask the only question that matters in Tuscaloosa: if the standard is winning, what do DeBoer’s results actually say? He may not be “perfect,” but he’s a winner, and that’s the language Alabama claims to speak fluen...
Auburn fans know the feeling: you watch a game for three quarters, you start to believe, and then something breaks late. A muffed punt. A blown coverage. A baffling three-man rush. Stack that on top of five straight losing seasons, multiple coaching changes, and massive buyouts, and the 2020s start to feel less like a slump and more like purgatory.
I walk through how Auburn got here and why the losses have be...
List season turns college football into a debate sport, so I grabbed two of the loudest SEC lists and put them under a microscope. We react to Chris Lowe’s On3 rankings for the top SEC quarterbacks and SEC head coaches, then rebuild both lists from the ground up using the stuff that actually predicts Saturdays: coordinator continuity, system fit, health, and the difference between real production and preseason...
I break down how a Texas Tech lawsuit keeps Brandon Soreby eligible despite a major sports betting scandal, and why that moment exposes the NCAA’s fading power. I also look at how this chaos could impact CFB positively in regards to unity rules and guidelines, NIL, the transfer portal, and the long-term integrity of college football.
• The Brandon Soreby betting story and why it shocks fans ...
One championship, years of hype, and somehow the loudest take is still “failure.” I break down why LeBron James’ Lakers tenure triggers such extreme reactions, and why the truth sits in a more uncomfortable place: LA isn’t Milwaukee and it isn’t Denver. When you sign with the Lakers, the expectation is simple and brutal, win the NBA Finals. That context changes how we talk about success...
