Welcome to 40 Dates in 40 Days! I’m your host, Sarah Beth. This is a show about dating in your 40s, which is not for the faint of heart! I recently turned 40, and I’m going on 40 dates in 40 days in hopes of finding my person. I'll recap my experiences, as well as interview experts, friends, and other folks navigating modern dating. So, grab a cup of tea, because we’re going to spill it, and settle in. It’s time to yap!
We’re getting near the end of my 40 dates, and the outlook is still quite bleak.
This week, I recap Week 5, which started with a bad listener and ended with an unwanted kiss.
We also discuss the Burn the Haystack method of dating, a really sweet marriage story that makes me cry, and a poem about finding love that also makes me cry.
So grab your tea (and maybe your tissues) and let’s dive in!

If you’re a Millennial, chances are you were exposed to purity culture during the 90s and 00s in some way or another. This extreme version of abstinence only education pervaded not only the church, but even the schools.
Join me as I talk with Dr. Camden Morgante, a psychologist and purity culture expert, to discuss the myths of purity culture and the negative impact of this movement on those of us who experienced it - even long aft...
It’s time to discuss Alaska! Y’all - this place is a treasure trove of men; I had such a good time.
We also get into the mathematics of dating (and why calculating the number of people who meet your criteria is probably not helpful), gender imbalances and their impact on dating, and I share a very encouraging story of a long-term relationship.

This episode recaps my worst week thus far…while we also discuss the concept of a third place (and why church might not be it), whether or not there is such a thing as “name theory”, and a term I think I coined - “micro-rejections.”
Get cozy, and let’s spill some tea!

Going on 40 Dates in 40 Days sounds crazy - and maybe it is! But, it's so crazy, it just might work!
