Dave Skolnik has been a part of the TLC Family of Camps for close to 30 years, starting as a camper at Timber Lake.  Today Dave is a Director at Hampton Country Day Camp in East Hampton NY, which is where Bobby met Dave. First as a counselor and then as the Sports and Spirit Day coordinator. In addition to his duties at HCDC, Dave is the Chief Operating Officer of the TLC Family of Camps. The TLC Family of Camps features three of the most respected resident summer camps in the Northeast, three of the premier day camps on Long Island and a top-tier pre-school. On top of that, Dave is the founder and Director of a popular youth athletic development program called FAST (Fitness & Athletic Skills Training) which provides age-specific programs for multi-sport skill instruction, motor skill development and performance training. On this episode Bobby and Dave talk about how Dave manages an organizational culture of diverse ages, roles and experiences in the high energy fast paced environment that is summer camp. Managing a summer camp is a true test of your ability to manage people and processes while maintaining a tremendous positive attitude. Bobby and Dave talk about relationship based leadership, a topic Dave presented on at the American Camp Association annual conference. And toward the 50 minute mark they get into Dave's work with FAST and Long Term Athlete Development. A culture of sport development Bobby is a big proponent of. Please enjoy Bobby's cup of coffee with Dave Skolnik.

After years as a forensic and clinical psychologist, I offer a unique interview style and a low tolerance for bullshit, quickly steering conversations toward depth and darkness. I honor the seriousness while also appreciating wit. I’m your guide through the twisted labyrinth of the human psyche, armed with dark humor and biting wit.
