(00:42):
Recording has commenced. Oh, Lord, Gladys, let me let you
go. Cresta Cowper just barged in and
she's blowing up a storm. And OPS.
Good morning, Agent Fowler. Doctor Wainwright.

(01:02):
Is on an important. Call right at this moment.
He will see me now, Mother. That door into the admin wing is
always getting sticky this time of year.
Oh, it's OK Suge. They're all just.
Fine in this. I've already called SEEK and the
carpentry crew and they're fixing to get it open.

(01:24):
Should only take about 10 minutes or so.
Why don't y'all come on back? Or even better, I'd be happy to
call you over the PA when it's all right.
It's raining. Don't bother.
Well, bless her heart. Mr. Kelly, where are you?
Morning agent. I'm in the logistics arch

(01:47):
conducting a tally report, everything all.
Right. Oh yes, I'm doing quite
brilliant this morning. I was thinking of going out for
a stroll in the garden. No, everything is not bloody all
right, you twit. Where are the duty rosters?
Who was on shift in the Arches last night?

(02:10):
This is Zeke. Hey, why are you giving Tommy
the business there? Spooky Spice?
If you want the duty rosters, you would have been down here
long enough girl to know to cometo me and I will be happy to
hand them over to you. I don't remember asking you for
anything, Spanelad. Yeah, sounds to me like you

(02:31):
didn't know really. Well, I'm in the BMF now and the
work losses are right here. You're welcome to them.
You're going to let us know what's got you all worked up
there? That is none of your business,
but if you must know, something is missing in one of the labs
and I need to know who was nearby.

(02:53):
See, something went missing and it's always the help that gets
the blame, huh. Yeah, I guess it's the same in
England, too. Well, sorry to tell you, but
there, yeah, there ain't no labs.
And it went down here in the Arches.
Say, which lab was it that something went missing from?

(03:15):
You know, just from my own curiosity.
Hello. You still there, Jocelyn?
Oh, maybe you forgot. Or is it one of them secret?
Yeah. Hi, this is Nick.
You all are aware this entire conversation is going out over
the Operations Talk group. Right.

(03:37):
I mean, I am the entertainment and events coordinator, so if
y'all really want to make this into a show or like a podcast,
oh, what can really use that here, that'd be wonderful.
I'm sort of happy to help. But here on my talk group, can
we not? Kelly join Bustamante and the

(03:58):
BMF arch. I'll be there momentarily.
This is bass, so will I. Hey lol man, come to watch the

(04:21):
show. Sorry it took so long.
Ribs still sore. Oh hell man, there's no need to
rush, we got this. How is your healing going
anyway? Fine, I'm good buddy.
Almost back to full speed. Said the man who tried to bluff
for the pair of threes and the worst tails.
Yeah, that's cutesy. She say what's got her worked up

(04:44):
yet other than something is missing.
No just came down here. Granted, Luther clipboard
started writing down names people who had third shift last
night. She seems extra murdery this
morning. I was busy enough getting
supplies for the party tonight but thought this was a.
No harm, no foul. Mr. Kelly, Why don't you go back

(05:06):
to getting all your arrangementsin place?
I'll cover for you, Joss. Oh, I appreciate that, Deputy
Marshall Zeke, we had the suit clean for you and it's all ready
to go. Come pick it up in my office
when you're ready. Looking forward to it, Tommy.
Looking forward to it. Hmm.
In a long times I've seen her this worked up, typically she's

(05:30):
just being caustic and trying toshoot some part of me.
She's really agitated, huh? Yeah, she got that van or
forehead all throbbing and everything, but she just won't
say what's got her all steaming. Is this all of them?
Everybody working on the night crew and what they're working
on. Yep.
What is this all about, Jocelyn?Nobody asked for your help,

(05:51):
Marlo. Bugger off.
I'm going to interrogate each one until I find.
Well, what we're doing what now? You.
Both heard me. One of these simpletons took
something that wasn't there. I intend to find it.
OK, One, you are not station lawenforcement, not station
security. You have no authority other than
special science activities you're guarding.

(06:12):
So we can assume this has something to do with Atlas?
Yeah. I remember a time simply
mentioning that word got people like Chuck Kill.
It bass. I'm all right not going to do
anything rash 2. None of these people are
required to do anything unless they agree to themselves.

(06:33):
You can ask to speak to them, but you can't make them.
Oh, trust me, Marshmallow. I can't make them.
Which leads me to three. Intimidation or assault on any
of the station's personnel is a crime.
Unlike you, I have legal jurisdiction and arrest powers.
Which leads to four. It would give me the excuse I've

(06:56):
been waiting for. One phone call, Marlow, all it
would take to get everything corrected.
And in the process, demonstrate your heavily touted and
impenetrable security measures were bypassed in under three
months of implementation. And by simpleton.
What would that really say aboutyou?

(07:17):
There it is. Bang the forehead again.
Damn low, man. Well, please, Jamie, can't bring
that skill to poker Call with a pair of threes.
The hell is wrong with you? Now, given it's a holiday
season, I'm trying my best to bea better person.
I'll help you. I don't follow.

(07:39):
What you talking about alone man?
You get another head injury thatshot to the vest last week.
No, I'm serious, I'm not making a joke here.
If something has been taken or misplaced, I'll help.
But that means you have to tell me what is missing so I know
what to look for. I'll handle this myself.

(08:01):
Hey, buddy, can you make a copy of yesterday's roster for me?
I want to follow up and make sure she's civil with your crew.
She speaks of. See.
Yeah. Yeah.
Still with you? I'm just.
Yeah. I don't know if you're the
lawman or maybe one of them pod people.
Fast model. I know.

(08:21):
And you never would have offeredto help her.
Yeah, well, I was only half truthful there.
Christmas time seems to put me in a better mood these days, so
I'm trying to be more friendly. OK.
What's the other half? Not truthful?
No. Do the unexpected.
She thinks you go left, you go right.
She thinks you're going to zig. You make horrible BBQ for the
Potter. That I get you.
Yeah, exactly. Got to say, though, I actually

(08:47):
like seeing the side of you longman.
Hey, maybe we'll get you on themugly sweaters to wear.
Let's not go that far. You get all the gifts you
ordered from Reno when you was in McMurdo.
Got them all wrapped in red be delivered.
Wouldn't you just slip them in the Santa's big bag there?
Lol man I haven't a good authority.
He's going to get it to all the good kids tonight.

(09:07):
See you tonight, buddy. I assure you doctors, I'm more
than happy to stay here all day and into the night until I'm
sure that neither of you had anything to do with a weeks
worth of tracking telemetry disappearing.
But what about the Christmas party tonight?
I'm pretty sure that Santa is isbringing me the present that I

(09:31):
was asking for. Choo Choo with the working
smokestack and everything. I don't give two tosses about a
party, about holiday cheer, and if I don't get that data back by
tonight, that train is going up somebody's arse.
You can't honestly think one of us would breach the non
disclosure agreement and make out two possibilities, Dr.

(09:53):
Somebody snuck in or hacked awayin and removed it, or somebody
from the inside snuck it out. Two possibilities you've
considered given the work done in here, and well, I guess
reality is subjective to the observer, but there are
countless possible. Yelling it's not going to get
you the results, I think. Thank you.

(10:14):
Who you want there? Plus, where's Doctor Wayne,
right? Why isn't he subjected to this?
Oh, trust me, Jovak Wainwright isn't above any suspicion.
None of you are. He's on his way down here now
that they fix the door to operations.
I keep telling them they need toShim it with the low moisture
outside and warm air inside. Let's start at the beginning,

(10:37):
Doctor Jovak. Present.
You were in the main control last night.
Yes, yes indeed, it's 7:00 PM until 3/3 in the morning.
I missed the pancake dinner and I'm not happy about it.
Sorry, Mrs. Buttersworth. You took over from Wainwright?
Correct. Lorenz wasn't around.
Well, not in the lab anyway. What did the night entail?

(11:02):
Well, the variable window. The variable window.
Mind you, I had watched it for the full 72 minutes.
The data being transmitted was strong and steady.
I was able to map and make fairly solid for next season.
That is until my hemorrhoids sort of flaring up.

(11:23):
Itchy, painful bastard. And nobody else was in the lab.
Well, that's a funny question. With Gustav gone and Doctor
Jennings not being given the position there, there are only
123 of us, me and Gemma and Dr. Wainwright.
Well, and of course, you, you came in at 11:00 PM to pick up

(11:46):
paperwork. I remember.
No, no, not counting me. Why not you?
You what? How do we know it wasn't you or
actions you caused that led to aweek's worth of telemetry
disappearing? Oh you daft.
I was sent down here to safeguard all this it.
Doesn't mean you're without suspicion.
While I was working on the real world Hard live long day maybe

(12:10):
maybe you you were in the kitchen with.
Dinah early folk songs notwithstanding, Agent Fowler,
you have to admit that having been inside a secured government
facility only four people on thestation can access, highest
statistical probabilities suggest at least a 25%
possibility that you could be the culprit.

(12:31):
If I had done it, I wouldn't have said anything about it
being missing. I wouldn't be sitting here with
you lot. Back to last night.
All right, I'm here now. The door frame, which was
perfectly fine this morning, hasbeen repaired and I have been
liberated. May I ask what the criticality

(12:54):
is that necessitates my presence?
We've had a security breach in Atlas.
What? What happened?
Two weeks of telemetry data can't be located.
How pray till did somebody get access to remove it?
That's exactly what I'm investigating.
Had you been able to be here when summoned, you'd know this.

(13:16):
She she says specs one of us didit and the juju find this weight
same huh? One of us took the data.
Are you mad? The security precautions and
firewall installed are NSA hardened and routinely tested
for faults. The physical security and
restrictions are all the same, used in every top secret
government facility plus severalnot on the books.

(13:38):
Nobody is going to simply cha cha slide into this complex
without alarms activating. So then obviously it can't be
your precautions at fault and itis one of us.
That is pure supposition and logical fallacy.
Or it was her. Equally absurd, why would Agent
people I cannot assert? I fully understand what has

(14:01):
happened here or is currently happening, but it isn't
productive. Sit down.
Wainwright wouldn't. It be more productive to have
the experts who review these operations week after week.
Look into what happened, unless your paranoia suggests everybody
was responsible. One of us will see if another is

(14:24):
covering something up. And it's more efficient than
bright lights and rubber hoses, wouldn't you say, Agent?
Or could be a suggestion from the very person who nicked the
data from the start. You have completely lost all
senses. I did it.
That is your theory. Me, I took something.
The only thing only thing I careabout at this station is this

(14:49):
project and ensuring that we long before you or that buffoon
of a Deputy Marshall came onto the station, it was me, me and
me alone who kept everything operating smoothly.
The fact that I am being accusedof giving somebody on the
outside information they couldn't possibly comprehend.

(15:09):
Why? Why would I do that?
Explain it to me. I dislike most everybody on this
station and the others I hardly even tolerate.
In the last year I've had to putup with dilettantes, deputy
dullards, distractions and now the delusional intelligence
agency who can't defend digital data and the definition of
distinct word intelligence is doubtful.

(15:32):
Day by day they keep stealing his W key in his keyboard.
It's always relying on other letters you see.
Indeed, apparently is the one today.
I see. Well, now that Wainwright is
here, why don't we go over all the timelines again?

(15:52):
Ridiculous. He's insufferable trains going
back in that tunnel. Wainwright, you began monitoring
all operations at what time? Case file update 23rd December
2022 on Current time is 1922 hours.
Supervisory Deputy US Marshall Bass, Marlowe Munson, Scott

(16:15):
Sabotage and LC130 Flight 0492 crash investigation My formal
request to unseal court documents pertaining a Chaz
wolver has been received as being reviewed by the courts,
according to our local lawyer, Franklin.
He tells me these things aren't reviewed overnight and I should
prepare myself for at least fourto six weeks before I hear

(16:37):
anything. And we all know how much I enjoy
waiting. Although I must admit that leads
are getting cold. Avenues I'm pursuing are coming
up dead ends. I'd say if there was any present
I could really use this Christmas, it would be a break
in this case. All right.
Suspect #2 Sabine Greer is beinglooked into.

(17:00):
Her background files weren't exactly spotless, but nothing
stands out. Too problematic.
A misdemeanor arrest, possessionback in the 90s when she was a
kid, some drunk and disorderliness.
And honestly, compared to the other backgrounds of the other
Dewalts, she is a St. I want to ensure I have
everything we can get on her though, and her past.
Sometimes it's the littlest thing that can make a break an

(17:22):
investigation, and the trick is not to let one of them sneak by.
We are also getting a new astrophysics Dr. arriving on
station tonight. Doctor Shepard Delham, 55, with
multiple doctorates and already has several seasons on the ice
at McMurdo. Thomas said he has all the
earmarks of being the replacement for Doctor Van Zandt

(17:42):
on Atlas. Officially, you'll be one of the
research scientists helping withthe South Pole Telescope Lab.
Seems like the Atlas crew is back to fully manned once again
and Jonathan's been on a tear lately.
She's highly agitated about something that went missing and
she won't say what it is, but that just tells me it's

(18:03):
something that was from within Atlas project.
I'm sure she strongly suspects myself or one of us was
responsible, and as much as I'd love to get my hands on anything
inside of Atlas, it's not us. And if it was one of my found
family would did it that they would have told me by now.
I know I shouldn't take pleasurein the misery of somebody else

(18:24):
as they struggle with their own investigation, especially this
time of year. But bash, you cat.
Finally, I So I got this thumb drive this Fiona sent me from
Marshall Goodwin. Yeah, I was sent to Fiona months

(18:47):
ago with a request that it be sent to me.
I've had it for several weeks now.
But yeah, Fiona told me there isa recorded message on it.
And I, I just don't think I'm ready yet.
Seeing or hearing Chuck again is.
Yeah, let's let's just leave it at that for now.

(19:11):
OK? Christmas.
Sorry. As our new human resource leader
Miss Chiperio keeps reminding everybody, tonight we're
throwing a winter festival event.
I've cleaned up all my festival presents I collected while I'm
McMurdo have been wrapped and will be handed out by.
Yeah, come to think about, I wonder if Miss Chipperfield

(19:31):
invited Santa to the gathering tonight?
Well, any who, I will make sure presents get to their proper
recipients. My ribs are apparently feeling
back to, well, I guess the ribs of a 50 year old man, but less
bruised than when I took a roundof the chest.
So that's something to be thankful for.
All right, let's put a bow on this recording as well.

(19:53):
Case file updated concluded 23rdDecember 2022.
In time is 1930 hours. Supervisory Deputy US Marshall
Bass Marlow Munson, Scott Sabotage and LC130 Flight 0492
crash investigation And here comes Santa boot.
Here comes Santa, boot right up your ass.
Lane Keenan's going to get the boot.

(20:24):
I think there's even more peoplehere than last Christmas party.
Everything looks incredible. Miss June absolutely outdid
herself this time. Yeah, I'd heard there was a bit
of a spat between her and the HRperson.
Apparently Miss June was limitedup the recommendation of making
everything so nonspecific. So after a good deal of
discussion and back and forth, we're doing the exact same thing

(20:45):
we did last year. We're celebrating all the
holidays taking place this time,Bondi Day, Yule, Kwanzaa,
Christmas, Hanukkah and of course, Mr. Kelly's favorite,
Festivus. Well, no matter what we're
celebrating, it's so colorful and cheery.
It doesn't feel like a gym at all.
It's warm and welcoming and. It's odd I don't see Doctor

(21:08):
Wainwright standing around and trying to make it known he
doesn't want to be here. You know, actually I don't see
any of the Atlas team around, orJocelyn for that matter.
I wonder if we aren't getting the station managers year end
greeting this time. Oh, Miss Chipperfield.
Miss Chipperfield. Hello Deputy Marshall Dr. Enjoy

(21:29):
yourselves. Hopefully not too much, despite
the festive eggnog somebody insisted to have put out.
Oh, yes, ma'am. Wonderful time.
I was curious, have you seen Doctor Wainwright this evening?
He's something of a fixture of these events.
No, I haven't seen him since we were stuck in the admin hallway

(21:50):
this morning. Just glad Chief Bustamante is
replacing the whole frame this time.
Don't want to file a report to the Office of Polar Projects.
A fire code violation is the last thing wanted by the OPP.
You know me. How about Doctor Joe Vac or
Lorenz? No, I haven't seen them either.
Odd. Well, nonetheless, the least we

(22:11):
can do is take advantage of all the hard work that went into
this thing and enjoy the Christmas.
Holiday Winter Festival shouldn't focus on just one at
the expense of others. Of course, how old man of me?
Sweetie. Yeah, I'm sorry.

(22:31):
How are you enjoying being back at the station?
Miss Chipperfield and the brokenleg all healed up.
It's a challenge getting re acclimated.
So many things I need to make sure are getting done.
So many compliance and training seminars to schedule.
Refresh your courses on staff behavior, anti discrimination
and general civility. Chief Meteorologist Topper Hunt
is always a handful. Oh, some say 2 handfuls and it's

(22:54):
now storm chaser altimeter. I brought more forms than ever,
Doctor Hunt not afraid to fill them out.
No, but my biggest challenge arethose two.
Dan and Dave Biggs, really. But they've been so sick.
Wait, you're the reason they haven't burst out into fight

(23:15):
this season at all? I'm good, but I'm not that good.
The amount of time I have had tohaul those two into my office,
might as well call it the penalty box.
No, they're behaving and nobody is sure just why And.
That's why they look so freaked out whenever I had them in their
last season before I moved offices.
Hard as it is for me to believe, since I returned they haven't

(23:36):
had so much as a crossword between the two of them, but
they're up to something. However, I just know it.
Well, good luck with everything if you'll please excuse me.
Wow, is she one tight. I've only met her a few times
before, but I do remember her being this hyper vigilant

(23:58):
against anything that could be mildly offensive.
Doesn't leave a lot of time for enjoyment when you're constantly
looking for issues. I don't get the impression that
she's actually a very happy person, despite the perky veneer
she has. Hey, guys.
Who? Mr. Kelly, you know I'll never
understand how you're able to get around undetected.

(24:19):
I am so sorry Deputy Marshall Dr. Not trying to be sneaky or
anything. It's all right, Thomas.
We know you're not doing it intentionally.
How is everything? Oh, wonderful, Just so
wonderful. I just love this time of year.
Did you get to talk to your mother and sister?
I did, I did. Mom is doing well in the

(24:41):
retirement community and Aggie, well, she's being calm these
days. I'm sure she's going to be just
fine. I didn't know your mom was
enjoying her retirement. Good for her.
You don't recall about six months ago when I had her?
Nah, never mind. No problem, Deputy Marshall.

(25:03):
Oh, and thanks for asking about her.
You 2 almost forgot. Did you get to meet our newest
arrival to the Science team yet?I'm assuming you're referring to
Doctor Delham? No, not yet, and I assume he'll
be working. Specific projects here on

(25:23):
station. Almost 100% positive it's him.
Yes. He only just arrived about an
hour ago. He's getting settled in and said
he'd attend the Christmas the holiday party later.
Well, I'm looking forward to meeting him.
Oh, over there. Doctor Wainwright and the others
are just walking in now. I was wondering where he was.

(25:44):
Typically he hides out in his office until I remind him he is
supposed to give the annual Christmas the holiday festival
thank you speech. Guess there was something
brewing in special projects. No doubt.
Oh good, Jocelyn made it as well.
Now it's a party. We talked about the spass, the

(26:07):
more you get worked up around her.
The more she gets delivered and free in my brain.
You're not wrong, it's just you don't undo 15 years of habit in
Cincinnati in just a few weeks. You're always bringing up
Cincinnati. What exactly happened there?
Another time, Mr. Keller looks like Doctor Wainwright is taking

(26:28):
the stage. Oh.
Shoot, I need to go make sure the guest of honor is ready to
come out. Excuse me, won't you?
No problem, Thomas. Go, go.
All right. Wow, none of the Atlas people
look happy. Oh, except for Joe Rag.
Why is he? And you keep training.

(26:50):
That's just Carl. He's eccentric that way.
Who's the newest Daniel Steelbook?
Oh, thank you, Frederick. I remember how much you said you
like reading the old Broads works.
Lord knows you're talking about it.
Sounds like we're going to need to deal with that comment in

(27:11):
another training session of the kennel there.
Good evening everybody. Can you please turn off the
music mix, Webster? Lovely.
I apologize for my taardiness this festive evening.

(27:34):
I was very avoidably delayed with not very pressing work.
However that is now over with thankfully.
Ah yes, this thing again. My my, how lovely it is to see
all your cheery faces this evening as we come together to

(27:56):
celebrate. Everything was crossed out to
honor this multicultural, dignified celebration of cross
beliefs and ensuring Miss June. Were you drinking when you
edited this? I can't read this next part.
Ensuring traditions are held without inconveniencing others

(28:18):
who don't agree with the patriarchy on Why are you all
looking at me? Don't be throwing no shade my
way, Dr. Grumpy. Ah, no better.
Guess I'll just improvise this year, won't I?
OK then. Ah, I have it.

(28:41):
Oh, but he was a tight fisted hand at the grindstone Scrooge,
a squeezing, wrenching grasp in scraping, clutching, covetous
old Sinner, hard and sharp as Flint for which no steel had
ever struck out, generous fire, secret and self-contained and
solitary as an oyster. The cold within him froze, his

(29:02):
old features nipped, his pointednose shriveled his cheek,
stiffened, his gait, made his eyes red, his thin lips blue,
and spoke out shrewdly in his grating voice.
A frosty rhyme was on his head and on his eyebrows, in his
weary chin. He carried his own low
temperature always about with him.

(29:24):
He iced his office in dog days and didn't thought 1° at
Christmas. I do so love the Dickensian
stance on holidays, as well as his cookbook suggestions.
So let me wish all of you and inno particular order, Miss
Chipperfield, a splendid Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah, joyous

(29:48):
Yule, a Merry Christmas, BlessedBondi and the kick ass Festivus
feats of strength. I need to.
Oh yes, it is great pleasure to introduce Saint Nicholas, the

(30:11):
non denominational gift giver, but you can all call me Sample.
Ho ho ho y'all. I do love me this time of
season. Ho ho ho.
Hey, Keenan, baby, old Saint Nick gives grab you some common

(30:35):
sense this year. Merry Christmas.
And all them other things too. Ho, ho, ho.
Let me see what I have here. Where is little Carl?
Doctor Joe back. Did you get my letters?
Enter. Oh, here you go, Carl.

(30:55):
Yes, Sir, I did get it. Oh, hot.
Digging the dog, My Lionel train.
Happy day everybody. I don't think he gets this happy
and excited about anything as hedoes plain Santa each year.
So Bass, we, well, we all got together and we're, we're in the
process of getting something foryou, but we still need another

(31:19):
week or so. I really wish you guys wouldn't
have gotten all that trouble forme.
Oh hush, I don't think you really understand how much you
mean not just to me, but to all of us.
You've not only made a difference here and in yourself,
but really to everyone. OK, OK, that that's enough.
I I get it. Really, Bass, I mean it we all

(31:41):
need. I I understand Kendra well, I I
guess this is good enough time to give you your present.
Picked it up with McMurdo while I was down there are.
You really sure you're all right?
After being shot, I mean, you were only off work for one week.

(32:02):
The best took the brunt of it, afew bruised ribs, but it's not
the first time I've been shot inmy career.
I'm not sure if that's supposed to comfort me or make my anxiety
worse. Oh ask, this is beautiful.
Oh, is it? It's a Locket.
Yes, I know you have a skin allergy towards gold, so I

(32:23):
picked one in silver. Inside is a picture of me and
then a photo of us from last year's New Year's that I had
shrunk. So sweet, will you help me put
it on? Oh, absolutely here.
Thank you so much, sweetie. Oh, Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas. Ho ho ho y'all.

(32:46):
I'm guessing that Doctor Jennings here told you the team
gift is a bit delayed. Oh, I want to go show Miss June
my Locket. I'll be right back.
Yes, she did, and it's all right, Santa.
I just wish you all wouldn't have gone to such efforts.
Well that's where they called this season is getting low man.
Plus I think I know once you seeit, you are going to love it

(33:09):
man. I'm sure I will.
Did you open up my gift yet? Oh no, no not yet.
Santa's been real busy handing out gifts, making the rounds,
keeping on schedule. Look I actually need to get back
to the rounds but just wanted tosay Santa may not have a gift in
this here bag for you to like Bass.
But if I'm honest, you have probably the best present

(33:32):
waiting to be open in your office, man.
I don't follow that thumb drive from your boss from Chuck just
sitting there because I'm sure you're being all stubborn and
still holding on some feelings about what happened.
Just damn more man. Do you know what people would

(33:54):
give to get one more message from the folks that passed on?
Last thing, very last thing you want to do is to let something
like that go on her for too long.
Consider it a special Christmas delivery.
Okay, that Santa got a few more presents and stop to me.

(34:18):
Hey, Tommy. Hi, Santa.
Oh, I see you found the Deputy Marshall after all.
Yeah, hey, Santa needs to make it down to the low arch in a few
minutes. Give some joy to the two cats.
They had to demand the main monitors for the few arches.
Had the last present here for Wainwright to give him.
You do me a solid delivery, no? Problem Santa.
Guess that makes me. One of.

(34:41):
Santa's. Elves.
Yeah, I guess it does. OK, thanks, Tommy.
See you in a few, LA, man. Mr. Todd, good to see you this
evening. Oh, hi, Depth Marsh.
How's the party going? It's as festive as it is
normally. You just missed Doctor
Wainwright's address. Oh, no, no, I heard it.

(35:03):
I was just toward the back of the room.
I see. I am.
I understand, Chris. Believe me, I get it.
And but it does get better. Oh, I know.
I know. And I low.

(35:24):
I didn't mean to bring the moon down.
No, you didn't. I I promise you, Mr. Todd, I'm
happy to have you here talking with me.
Happy that you came out tonight.Oh, by the way, I said thank you
very much for the present. The second season box set of
Mandalorian. I'm very much looking forward to
watching it. I figured you wouldn't have had
it yet. And I'm happy to be able to get

(35:44):
it to you. Oh, the final gift of the year
is for me, of course. Last year's present A bag of
keyboard keys all the letter W. Honey seriously have to

(36:11):
antagonize him. I honestly have no idea what you
mean. Oh, absolutely, 100%.
Hi, Chris, It's great to see youtonight.
Oh, you too, Doctor. You too.
I'm using gift, Deputy Marshall.I trust this was from you.

(36:33):
I can't say it is, Doctor. I'm not one for practical jokes.
Please don't mistake my questionfor interest, Deputy Marshall.
I truly do not care. No.
I am here to deliver a present of my own.
This parcel was left on my desk.Must have been accidentally
placed there. It is for you, Mr. Todd.

(36:54):
For me. Unless there is another
individual on this station namedChristopher Todd.
Some people. Well, thank you, Doctor.
Do not thank me. I have nothing to do.
Simply the messenger. I assured you it's one of the

(37:16):
stations iPad minis. It's looks like there's some
sort of data on it. That's, well, that looks like
telemetry data. It's been collected over what
it's like 10 days. It's unusual though, because
it's, well, those are subharmonic pulses picking up on

(37:39):
whatever sensors were used in this experiment.
And then the pulses are in groups of two and 35 S prime
numbers. Well, each group is being picked
up on an increasingly narrow band.
There's such a large data burst after each time the group of
seven is reported. Well, it appears if somebody

(38:00):
matched the frequency of the subharmonic 7th pairing,
synchronized an 8.06 gigahertz microwave signal from a voltage
controlled oscillator with an optical pulse train from A7 7.5
megahertz mode locked ER fiber laser using a fiber based
optical microwave phase detector, inverted the narrow
band frequency and after narrowing the band would pass
the recorded something. Or so I surmise.

(38:22):
I've just seen it now this is for me.
Should I press it? Yeah, I'm curious.
Me too. I could care less myself.
Attempt 26 signal is hands heading.

(38:42):
Go ahead father. Attempt 2677.5 megahertz mode
locked. Space Ghost is way better than
Johnny West in transmit. That was him.
That was Emery. According to this, it was
recorded a week ago. He's alive.

(39:05):
My brave little Hobbit is still alive.
This. This is the best Christmas gift
ever. Thank you so much, Doctor
Wainwright. Do not thank me.
I am simply the postal carry here.
I have no idea where the telemetry data came from and
won't vouch for its authenticity.
Now, I won't wish you happy holidays, Christopher.

(39:26):
I won't thank you for the sacrifice Mr. Waters made saving
our lives. I won't stay here for fellowship
in Meredith. I'll simply leave you with you.

while they're here. They make the damn dumb things
easier to operate. All right, looks all right.
OK, I think we got it working now, Bass, I don't want to get
all dramatic and holler on you, but if you are listening to me
right now, that means that somebody really shit the bed.

(41:35):
I need to set this thing up as my ace up the sleeve.
An insurance policy, I guess you'd say.
When I was in Washington, DC last week, it was only supposed
to be for routine budget reviewsand internal Justice Department
paperwork. All the fun stuff we Marshalls
get to do. Around the second day I was
there, I was approached by an individual who said they had
information about the pole, about the projects at your

(41:57):
research station, and about well, they just kept saying the
ice. Turns out after a lot of
disbelieving and doubt they wereon the level son what they had
and what I figured out. We thought this is going to be a

(42:19):
by the book homicide investigation where we were
wrong. Boy, real real wrong.
That person I was beaten with didn't have the whole story
themselves, but they damn sure had enough.
I'm scanned and attached everything they had onto this
thumb drive doohickey, but they want to be sitting down before
you start cracking them open. Also be a good idea not to be

(42:42):
around nobody either when you do, and I think after you see
what they have, you will get your own estimate on what we're
facing but we are up against andwhy it is important we stay in
the Game Boy. This is big bass news headline
and history book big Yes, I knowI'm getting all dramatic again,

(43:02):
but it is important to emphasizethis.
And that being said, I can't think of another person I'd
rather have down. It'll work this for us.
There is nobody I trust more. OK, now I get to get all sappy
and crybaby on. You pass.

(43:24):
Chances are that I'm gone now. I don't have many words of
wisdom, and I'm not saying I'm some Sander figure should be
looked up to. Hell, I'm just a guy who was
around for a spell, did a thing or two and tried to help some
folks out. Well, I'm.
Yeah, I feel like me and I hate this.

(43:45):
Ah, Hells bells. I love you, son.
You are just an employee. You ain't just one of my deputy
Marshalls. You are my boy.
I'm not saying I was happy when Diane started bringing you
around. Damn, don't get brain hotshot
kid. What I have to say after all

(44:05):
this time? The oldest time.
I was wrong back then. No, not about you, because you
still have them damn donkey brains.
But I was wrong about Diane's decision to get married to you.

(44:25):
Turns out it was a good one after all.
I was wrong. Yeah, I said it.
I'm going to make it a big deal out of it, all right?
Anyway, you listen here, boy, you've got some serious darkness
in you, Bass. You got some demons you need to

(44:48):
get your hands around. And I know you don't like to
think about your wife, about Diane, about my daughter, but
nobody, nobody faults you for that at all, son.
Nobody, that is, except for yourself.

(45:10):
So it's only yourself that needsto come to pace with it.
Charlie, will you come on already?
We're going to be late to the theater.
All right. You heard her.
That was the boss. I need to get my fancy suit on
so I can go pretend. I enjoy Italians dressing like
clowns and singing like a dog counting a fire engine on stage.

(45:30):
You look over the fouls. I attach bass.
Bass. Seriously, you need to listen to
me. Hear what I have to say, you get
the job done, then you get out, you hear me?
Go retire, go find that Pretty Little doctor and go make
babies. Go live.

(45:51):
Go be happy. OK?
I'm going to go throw up from all this emotion and get gussied
up for Janet. Chuck.
Good one. US Marshall, February 4th, 2022

(46:14):
February 4th. That was the day that he and
Janet were murdered. What did you have, old man?
That was so damn This this is, is.

(46:37):
Oh, this has been a B MB production.
