(00:00):
What's up, guys. It's agirl Alexandria Akimoni with Cynthia Bailey. Hello,
Hi, hello everyone, How areyou today? By the way,
I'm doing really well. Yes,yes, listen know what I take that
back. I'm doing amazing. Yes, that's what we love to hear.
You're doing amazing. We see you, we love you, and we're proud
of all your accomplishments and everything youhave going on. By the way,
(00:24):
we're here in Atlanta, Yes,we are, we are. I know
you don't live here fully yet,but any thoughts about coming back to Atlanta
full time? All right? SoI am by coastal. Yeah, I
do split my time between LA andAtlanta. No, my daughter's in LA.
Noela is there, and so ismy team, my agent and my
manager is also in LA. SoI do spend a little bit more time
(00:44):
in LA. But trust and believeLake Bailey is definitely home based. Hello.
We love it. We love LakeBailey, gorgeous property here in Atlanta.
But I know you're by coastal rightnow, you're all around the country
talking about something amazing with this newflavor Seagrums. Yes, tell me more
about it. I'm excited. I'mamost of girls. I'm gonna let you
(01:06):
take it over. Yes, I'mdoing good to great, Yes, yes,
zooing break because I am launching mysecond flavor with Seagums Escape. You
guys are familiar with my first flavor, the Peach Ballini, which I use
the signature fruitlu Real Housewives of Atlantathe Peach to inspire me to do my
first Reek. Guys gotta play. Most of you got a chance to watch
(01:30):
it all play out the launch onthe Real Housewives of Atlanta. A little
bit of drama, a lotta We'llgo on to say that the Peach Blady
flavor has gone on to be Seagrumsone of Seagrum's top three flavor bad So
what that's said Since it's been sosuccessful that I've had the Seagrums Escapes partnership
since twenty eighteen, so it's beenfive years as doing good. So we
(01:53):
decided that we would do a secondflavor together, and I decided to go
with a berry fruit this time. And I love mimosas because I'm a brunch
girl. Yes, I'm a daytimekind of girl. Oh yeah. To
be honest, love a date, guardy, love a brunch anything. Mm
hmm, that's where there's some sunlightgoing and i'd like to you know,
I gotta start wrapping things up aroundtie. Well, I've done with you.
(02:15):
So this so my berried hermosa isperfect for any kind of brunch food,
soups, salads, fish, chicken, whatever you can think of it
on brunch. So I think itis the perfect follow up to my very
successful peach belief. Oh yeah,no, we love the peach ballini,
by the way, so we're reallyexcited to have this out. Would you
(02:37):
say this is your favorite flavor formimosa because you don't really see a berry
mimosa when you go out to brunch. That's true? Yeah, so so
true. What's your favorite flavor? Is this it? And what's going on
here? Why? Berry? Ihave to say, well, I didn't
want to do I did peach already. Okay, yeah, I'm a peach
And honestly, I didn't see anyflavors in the Seagrum's Escape catalog to be
(03:00):
honest, for beer. And Iwas like, you know what, let's
s sympthe with beery. Yeah, and let's make it amos sa And this
would be my favorite flavor because whatI love about dis flavor is it's like
delicious. It's sweet, but it'salso a little bit tart and it's very
light, which is why I thinkit's a perfect fit for a brunch cocktail.
Yes, that makes a lot ofsense, and we're excited to try
(03:21):
it. It might be everybody's newfavorite for the fall into next summer,
So that's exciting. How long wouldyou say it takes for you to actually
create a flavor, because he hadthe peach ballini, now this one.
How long what's that process like toreally get it on the shelves. Well,
you don't have very hands on mhm in this partnership, and I'm
very much a creative, so Ididn't want to do this partnership unless I
(03:44):
could really partner with it. Yeah. So with the peach Ballady, I
actually physically was filled up to Chicagoto lab whether he actually create the drink
lot, the formulations and everything buta little lab coat and really got to
mix and everything up and you know, everything from you know, deciding if
it's sweet enough, if it's toosweet, is there enough carbonation? Is
(04:06):
it too carbonated? Do I likethe coloring? Like I was involved in
the decision making process of every aspectof the peach believing and like I even
actually went to the factory as well, whether they make them, and I
got to meet the workers like Imet, when I met, and I
met, And I think that's whyCynthia Bailing brand works because first of all,
(04:26):
I'm authentic and I don't attach myselfto anything that does not really make
sense for me or represent me.And you know, listen, just from
being on Housewives of Along if anybodycan appreciate to get cocktail, So that's
real what Seagrum's Escapes called. Iwas like, oh, absolutely, yeah,
this this can be a great collab. But what I didn't know is
(04:49):
that, you know, five yearslater we would still be working together and
I would actually have my second fleet. Yes, are you predicting any more
flavors coming? Or oh yeah, that's the thing going. We're gonna ride
this until the wills fall off.You know, the partnership is great.
I work with some incredible women. You know, the alcohol industry is pretty
much male dominated, that's true, and I love as a woman to be
(05:11):
able to be in this space.Yeah, with the with the incredible Oneulan
I work with. Oh but Sacrum'sEscapes and I want I want to keep
it going. I you know,I have a second flavor. I would
like to have a third or fourth. I would like to continue to have.
You know, I would like tocontinue to work with them for as
long as we can work together.I love it. If you can,
just you know, give us asneak peek or an idea. What would
the next flavor be like? Ifyou could, what would the next flavor
(05:35):
be like? Oh? You knowwhat, I am newly outside okay,
okay, And although I've been throughtwo marriages and two divorces, I am
still on a quest to find thelaw. I love it, which means
that, you know, I ama lover of love and a very I'm
(05:57):
a very passionate person. So Idon't know, maybe some passion fr Ooh,
I did it. I love ita passion fruit today. Oh that's
gonna be very good. I'm alreadyexcited about that one too, that I
love passion fruit. That's always agood place. And we're talking about passion
and we're talking about love. Yougotta dive into it just a little bit,
(06:19):
if that's okay, Okay, Iknow you. Of course, the
divorce and everything from MIC is finallies and everything. How are you guys
are like terms? Yeah, I'mgood. I spoke to him the other
day as a matter of fact.Okay, we're so very cordial and very
respectful towards each other. And thegreat thing about you know, the time
that we spent together was you know, we we Mike was part of my
(06:40):
journey, yeah, and I wasa part of his. And the great
thing about you know, you know, if you can look at it positively,
and I really look at you know, I'm very positive. Yeah,
said, we both get an opportunitynow to find our person, you know,
and we'll always be friends. That'sgood. That's good. Can I
ask how long it took for youto really get over it or are you
still at fully one hundred percent overfor that? I mean, I have
(07:03):
moved on, but I will alwayshave love for Mike. Yeah, you
know, I don't you know,if I love you, I'm gonna love
you forever. That just don't meanif I love your boy to love you
forwards, that don't mean we needto be married to each other, right,
So the love will always be there, if that makes sense. Recently
you're in the shade room though, for was it the shame room, neighborhood
(07:23):
talk something like that for you.But you posted a picture. But Noel's
father, he made a comment yougot nervous. I was like, wait
a minute. I was like,I bottle the shade through punching myself here
and I sneaking around. No,you got little catch and they care.
But anything with that, any kindof rekindling when you're outside or whatever the
(07:49):
case a b or you know, just family love. Oh, family love.
Okay, I don't go back.I don't go backwards. I want
to go forward. Yeah. Andthe great thing about Leon is we have
a beautiful daughter together. Yeah,so we knew, but we had that
baby together, we would always beat each other lives. We would always
be forever connected, whether we wereactually together or not. And he is
(08:11):
one of my closest friends. Ilove and a door that man. I
have so much respect for him.I love the child that we excuse me,
the young lady than we are raisingme. I think Noel is truly
a beautiful testament of the best partsof both of us. And she's doing
amazing things, by the way,in California. So what are your hopes
(08:31):
as a mom for her in theupcoming future if you can, like,
I don't know your mom's like,my mom is like, hey, give
me grandkids in like three years. Not saying that's the path that you're thinking
about, but there's always something yourmom wants for you. What do you
want for Noel in the future.I think it's the child the daughter of
two celebrity parents. I just wanther to have our own identity and not
(08:56):
be identified by us, Yeah, through us because we are her parents,
and just be happy. I thinkas a mom, a sad day for
noelh is a sad day for me. Man. When that girl calls me,
it's like, Mom, I'm havingthe best day. I was working
on this to day and everything islife is great. My day instantly becomes
(09:18):
happier. Yeah, because what shesaid, I'm sad when she's happy,
I'm happy all the time. Yeah. So I just wanted to be happy.
I just want her to be whoshe is, walk in her own
crystal purpose and live her best life. Yeah. No, I love that
for her. And we watched hergrow. I mean, I'm a housewife,
(09:39):
say, and we watched your girlup on this show for sure.
And you guys have been on theshow for so long now you left and
eleven season eleven season No, wellcame on when she was eight years old.
It's not crazy now she's twenty three. Isn't that crazy? How that
works out? Looking back? Ican't even believe he did that. Yeah,
but I was about to ask.I know a few months agasead you
would never return. But I knowyou know they're reading never. Oh what
(10:03):
the records? Okay, now Iknow I this is what I said.
I always say I'll never say never. Okay, but I have been saying,
not writing it. Not right now, but I'll never say never.
I feel like the Housewives will alwaysbe my home or boy from home.
Those crazy ladies will always be mysisters no matter what we've been through because
(10:26):
we I feel like, just forus to be able to coexist on a
show like that and still be ableto make it out with some level of
respect. Bringing Don on the otherside, child, that's a sister who
those are my sisters? Call life? So I you know my focus is
my acting career. However, youknow I don't know really God by SEPs
(10:50):
I've letting God, but by SEPsAnd I will never say never. Okay.
I have a great relationship with BRABOand NBC, and the reason I've
been able to have so much successand get all these other opportunities has a
lot to do with the incredible platformof the Housewives that I've been able to
use for the past eleven years.Yeah, yeah, that makes a lot
(11:11):
of sense. And you're saying, not right now there's twenty twenty four account
because I'm assuming they should be filmingthis upcoming season at some point. It's
what I did pop in last season. Yes, yeah, I popped it,
okay. And what I loved aboutthat is my fans were excited to
see me pop back up on thescreen. Of course, it was fun
for the network to actually let medo a confessional as well, because I
(11:33):
just want to do a couple events. And I love the way they gave
me my flowers. After eleven yearsbeing a consistent housewife, I've just rolled
me out. Real nuts to me. I didn't expect any of that,
but it just felt good to feellike, all right, that's what's up.
Like a littled a couple of sceneshere there in that they brought me
(11:54):
out of You did they roll meout? Okay? The old nasty confession.
I love it always a fun timeseeing a confessional. Yeah, that's
fantastic. So let's talk about thisupcoming season as a whole. We know
that they are recasting. Who wouldyou like to see come in that hasn't
lay in appearance yet or at leasthas not a leak. Wow. You
(12:16):
know, there's a lot of incrediblewomen here in Atlanta, and you know
there's so many bosses here in athere are and that's what I love,
you know. I feel like Atlanta'swindows places that you can move to and
really honestly start a business. Yes, because you have so many people doing
it, and I enjoy that.I think it's so much inspiration behind that.
(12:37):
So I don't want to single outanyone and say anyone specifically, but
I will say they have a lotto choose from. They really honestly do
to you know, throw some somenew people in the mix. Okay,
that makes a lot of sense.I'll take the ends. I'm not gonna
pry too much, but I A'mgonna ask, how is your relationship with
all ladies that really you are amain part of the show. I have
(13:00):
a great relationship with the ladies onthe show, and what I love about
her is, you know, forme, it's just organic. And even
when I did pop up for thosescenes, I was met with so much
love, like they really welcomed meback. I didn't know how it was
going to be. I didn't knowto be like, oh Lord, here
she come back over here, right, you know, it could have been
the opposite way, but they allgave me love and they saying genuinely excited,
(13:20):
you know, to see me.And that felt good because again,
like I'll always consider them my sisters. You know, I'm closer to some
than others, but at the endof the day, it's a sisterhood.
Yeah. How about Ninni though, are you close with her? I'll always
meant my sister. Okay, we'renot close anymore. Okay, I mean
we're not really friends feeling this, but you know, when I do see
her, what I can appreciate isthere's always a respect and we always say
(13:45):
hello to each other, and youknow, I always have love in my
heart for her. I get it. I get it of course, like
a sister, you know, froma distance. Nothing wrong with that.
Yeah, sure, like we couldlove each other from a distance all day
long. But I'm not a person, you know, if we were really
friends, and we were friends,we were framed friends for many, many
years. I came all the showas Needy's friends. Yes, so this
(14:07):
all started with her in a lotof ways. You know, that's who
they put me with. And youknow, for me, I don't care
how you respond to me. I'mgoing if I see you, there's no
way I'm going to be in thesame room with you and not say hello
to you. Now, if youchoose that to say hi, bag,
that's on you, right, ButI'm going to say hello because I just
(14:28):
think it's crazy not to. Ofcourse, that way don't have to do.
I don't have to go no furtherthan that. But it costs me
nothing to say hello, nice tosee you, enjoy your evening, and
then I'm back to my Saturday. That's perfectly fine. Did you catch her
at least the clips on social mediawith her and Bethany for the podcast you
what are your thoughts about? Butat least the clips that were posted.
I did catch a couple of eclips. I didn't see the entire interview,
(14:52):
that's fair. But you know what, Needy asked her story and her own
experience with the show, and Ihave mood. So I don't really have
really much say about it, andthat's fair, but let's talk more about
you and what's to come. We'retalking about acting. That's why you're in
California, even though we want youto come back to Atlanta full time.
I'm here, like most of theup I'm here. I am here.
(15:13):
You know good about fifty so we'lltake it. We'll take it. So
how's the acting going. I knowwe have, we've seen some stuff on
your social media, but what's tocome in that space, it's it's going
amazing. We are God willing wrappingup this strike soon. Yeah, I'll
be able to talk about it alot more. But I do have some
amazing projects and that I was ableto get in the can before the strike
(15:35):
that I can't wait to promote andhave you guys check out. But there's
one project in particular that I'm excitedabout you guys seeing, and it's a
movie that I did with my daughterNoel. Oh. Well, we're in
the same movie. We didn't dothe movie together, but we didn't even
have any scenes together. So I'mexcited for you guys to see Miss no
wol noeh. It was quite alittle actress. Oh yeah, I was
(15:56):
even surprised. I was like,oh, wow, you know, but
you know her dad is mister LeonThespiands. She got it, honestly,
But that was exciting for me,for us to it was exciting for us
to work on the project together. And it's gonna be so much fun promoting
it together next year. Next year, I was gonna ask one, can
we expect more about that self?Town is? And yes, perfect without
getting too much into that because ofthe writer's tray, we don't know,
(16:21):
of course, the details of yourroles have you already played? But what
would you like to play? Like? What kind of character? What kind
of movie would you like to playand do in the future or shows?
Well, I consider myself light mmhmm. Okay, However, if I'm
gonna play a character, I liketo go to the darks. Ooh.
I would love to play like aserial killer, which I think I would
do well. Yeah, I don'tthink anyone would think I was a serial
(16:44):
killer, you know, just somethingthat is completely the opposite of anything that
I could ever imagine myself ever doit in my real life. After being
on Housewives for eleven years, playingmyself I haven't played anything other since that
you I love less. I lovemyself as you said, but I did
not want to play by Okay, and anyway, that's a double one time.
I want to play myself in orderI want to blame my loo.
(17:08):
So yeah, I would like togo to the dark side. I would
like to stretch my acting chops anddo something then people would never expect me
to. You know, yeah,I would. I would like to stretch
my acting chops and play a characterthat people would never expect me to play.
Oh yeah, that's gonna be exciting. So we're gonna wait for that.
It's coming. Yeah, super excitedall side. Yes, it is
(17:29):
definite. We're speaking into existence. So I know we talk about acting housewives,
let's talk about the modeling side.Recently, we've seen a lot of
people on the runaway, some ParisHilton to Angela Bassett of Bizarre Serbia.
Yes, oh yes, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Would you ever return
in a more serious space to modeling, runaway or whatever the case may be?
(17:52):
One thousand percent, one thousand percent. At the beginning for me,
you know, I divide my lifeinto chapters. Everyone was Cynthia the model.
Yeah. Act two Cynthia the realitystart and Act three the third act
is Cynthia the actress. But theyall can work together because that is all
that is me. And as muchas I love to reinvent myself when it
(18:15):
comes to modeling, that's the onetime I don't mind spending the block.
Yes, no, man, Idon't like to spend a block. Good
relationships, yeah, we're usually thatand then's it. But I feel like,
you know, fashion was always myfirst love. Yeah, it was
my first introduction to you know again, Act one Cynthia Bailey the model,
(18:37):
and I feel like it's important tohave representation. Representation is so important to
have women like myself, women Iwas a certain age and I'm fifty six
years old, and I honestly lookat my old covers and my old tear
sheets and magazines for me modeling, and I feel more beautiful now at fifty
six than I ever did in mytwenties and thirties. UTI full on because
(19:00):
there's something in the photo. Itbecause I've lived this incredible life, and
you know, my twenties, Ididn't know what was going when happened time,
I was like a deer in headlightsthe photo, and I just feel
like the picture is honestly worth athout. I feel like the picture,
my pictures now are honestly worth athousand words because you see the energy and
(19:21):
the photo, and you see thehistory, and you see the lessons in
the photo. No, that's absolutelybeautiful, and a lot of people look
up and inspire to be like CynthiaBailey, who honestly shows the real in
life but shows that you can dowhatever you set your mind to. Absolutely.
So what would you like to sayto those women who really are trying
to make it in whatever space theyare trying to take on different industries and
(19:45):
so forth. I would say, don't live in a place of fear.
And one of the things that Ilove about just even owning my age and
celebrating, you know, getting oga. I do that because I don't want
any woman to feel like they haveto be find by their age. Yeah.
I literally started my life all overagain, beautiful at fifty five.
(20:06):
That's when I started all over personallyand professionally, transitioning from one career to
a new career, transitioning from beingmarried to being single again, to be
in back outside and I've never beenAftertay. Yeah, I feel like you
can recreate yourself and reinmbit yourself asmany times as you want, as long
as you know God is leading. As long as God, I feel like
(20:26):
you can recreate and reinvent yourself asmany times as you want. Yes,
you only get one life. Isaid, this is my life. I'm
boid to live it my way,on my terms and just live my best
life. And I think age can'tdefine that, Like you can do that
at any age. But I thinkyou appreciated more as you get older.
Yeah, you know, everything changesonce you get older, because there's a
(20:48):
certain amount of peace that you needin your life as well that you appreciate
and balance that's important as well.I feel and I feel balanced. I
think what you guys see when youlook at photos of me now in my
social media is someone who is reallyowning who she is, unapologetically take it
or leave it. This is me. I'm doing me. I'm enjoying myself.
(21:11):
I'm pouring back into myself this era. It's called my turn. I
love it. You know what wasgrown three mama fun and it's my time.
We love it. We love it. My turn, My time,
it is and it shall be forsure. So last question, the holidays
are coming up, any plans,Well, hopefully I'll be laid up on
(21:33):
a beach with some fun. Man, let me just rate the secret said
that, yes, it's good, veritable sad cheer. I will be the
case put that into me, abroson. But on a serious note,
this year has been incredible. Yeah, and it was a scary year for
me because, like I said, you know, I started it all over,
(21:55):
you know, across the board, and I feel like, you know,
it's important for me to do itfor myself, but I also hope
that I am inspiring other women outthere or watching my journey and my story
to live. I'm living a placeof fear to saying, go for living
the best life. Like as longas you're not hurting anybody and you're moving
(22:18):
with grace and with love, thenthe sky is the living. Yeah,
And I want to represent that becausethat's who I feel like I can do
anything and I'm honestly having the timeof my life. And I'm really glad
you asked me about the modeling questionbecause I do you know, I was
talking about representation. I would loveto really, you know, activate that
(22:40):
modeling career again, because I thinkyou're getting a different Cynthia. Then you
got you know how many of yearsago it was when I was Grace and
those covers. I'm walking the runways, so I'm not done. I still
got a lot more to give,Yeah, a model, as a TV
personality, and most definitely as anactress, saying, can't wait for the
next fifty five to fifty six moreyears. Listen, it gets greater later.
(23:03):
It's for Minty Smith. And asmy grandmother used to say, the
best is yet to come. Ye, our last days will be my best
day. I love it, Ilove it. Thank you so much,
Cynthia Bailey for talking to iHeartRadio aboutall that you have going on. We're
excited. We love what you havegoing on. By the way, that
Barry Mimosa is amazing. Listen,it's very good, right and good,
(23:26):
very very very good, and wethank you Cynthia for joining us. Thank
you so much,
