Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's up, guys?
Speaker 2 (00:00):
Is a girl Alexandria a Caamoni. I'm here with the
one and only Pink Sweats. How you doing today?
Speaker 3 (00:08):
Happy to have you.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Actually, I'm in your space right now. We're at the
concert venue where you're about to perform here in Atlanta.
So how are you feeling right now? With your concert
coming up?
Speaker 1 (00:15):
It's amazing. I feel like this is gonna be one
of the best shows on the.
Speaker 4 (00:18):
Tour, absolutely because it's Atlanta, right.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Atlanta brings a different energy that just as a performer,
you just thrive on it.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, So let's talk about it. You are
here in Atlanta from Philly, live in m i A.
You're in at l So when you come to the city,
what do you like to do?
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Where do you like to go?
Speaker 5 (00:35):
I like to get food. Honestly, it's no specific place.
Every time I land, I hit up like my friends,
like one of our friends, Rosa, she lives here.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Yeah, like, yo, just take us to where the food is,
like she knows what I already like, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Give you more details.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
The other day, I forget the spot, but it's like
a little plaza.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
Yeah, I went and I got some crazy good lamb chop. Oh.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Yeah, Atlanta's known for lamb shops too.
Speaker 5 (01:02):
It's hard to get them.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
A lot of places, really good ones I had, like
they like this, Oh, I had like four of them
good and yeah, I went crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
I love it. I love it.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
So I do have to ask a quick question, how
do we get the name pink sweats?
Speaker 5 (01:20):
Pink sweats? Honestly, I was like just down bad.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Financially, I bought a pair of pink sweats from H
and M.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
Actually they were just on the clearance right, it was
like the cheapest fans I could get. Yeah, I just
bought them.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
And then like people that didn't know me, they just
knew that I wore these fants all the time and
I like yo pink sweats, So it kind of became
like a thing around the studio vibe.
Speaker 5 (01:45):
But honestly, yeah, I was just thinking.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
About that as I was talking, like I was down bad,
Like my pants literally would be falling apart, Like if
I'm sitting there, when I get up, you just see
crumbs and sweatpants.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Oh my god, that's hilarious.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Which I love that you went with pink sweats, not
even black sweats or white sweats or gray sweats. You
just went pink, yep, and that was when you're like
your signature color, like a lot of your clothes that
you put like when you're putting pictures on social media
and pink.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
And we love it.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
I feel like it's easy in the sense of like
when you're like, for me, I'm born on Valentine's Day,
I make all these love songs, so I feel like
it just all.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
I wish that I could say I orchestrated it.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
I feel like it's just God or thing, like just
things just falling in line where you'd be like and
you couldn't even put all of this together myself at least.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, I love that.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Okay, So we are on tour right now.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Atlanta is one of the first few stops that you're doing,
so we're super excited to have you in studio or
at the concert venue.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
But tell me more about how.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
It's been on the Welcome Home tour so far.
Speaker 5 (02:48):
It's been amazing.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah, I love just like the support, Like you know,
I'm an independent artist, so it's just I feel like
it hits like ten times harder when you're like self
fund like everything I pay for everything, like, so it's
like when you when you pay for everything in the beginning,
sometimes you always just like, all right, man, I just
(03:09):
hope somebody show up, because like, I just put all
this money up right, and yeah, I'm just feeling like
a lot of love and a lot of support.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
Just people just been reminding me while I'm doing this
for real.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Yeah, which is amazing.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
And by the way, the crowd out there, they're still
ready to see you, so the love is really in
the building. But I do have to ask you have
any traditions or like things you must do before you
perform when you're on tour.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
Give me the insight school.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
No, not really.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
I just like to talk and have good conversation with
my guys and my girl whoever's around.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
We usually just talk.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Because that keeps me distracted from like taking myself too serious.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
But I feel like then I start getting really nervous.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Like i feel like I perform best when I'm loose,
and I'm just like we just chit chatting, and then I'm.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
Like, oh, going on for them the good energy to
keep on growing.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
Right, it's quiet, and everybody, I'm like, all right, now
I'm thinking.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
Too much, So we'll keep the good vibes going until
you go on stage, we love.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
But also for the fans who have not seen you
on tour yet, on this particular tour right because we're
in the beginning dates, what can they expect on this tour?
Speaker 5 (04:20):
Oh Man, just.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Real talent And I'm not even just talking about myself,
but like my band. Yeah, I feel like sometimes people
are watching the show and they have no idea that
a lot of the show is not even rehearsed, Like
we're just flowing, like I'll.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
Just start singing random songs in my band.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
They just we've been working together for so long, Like
everybody can just move so flawlessly where you're like he
had like he just saying that's not in the show,
Like that has to be in the show.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
So just the talent and the rawness of the.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Show, I feel like you don't really get that a
lot these days because everything's computerized.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
You got auto tone everything.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Even the live shows now, so it's like we're just
stripping it down and it feels like home, Like it
feels like to me, it feels like I'm at my crib.
I mean, I feel like that's the draw for the
audience is like I want them to feel like they
got to know me a.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Little better than they did. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
I want them to feel like, Yo, you can go
in the fridge. You know what I'm saying, You a drink,
right you family? Now, like we welcome home?
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Yeah, and that's literally what the story is about.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Welcome home, like you're saying, just being family, being friends,
having fun on the couch and chilling with your homies.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
So I do love that.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Okay, I want to talk about love for a second.
You mentioned you're born in Valentine's Day. Make good great
music for lovers as well. You know you're married to
a beautiful lady by the way, So let's talk about
romance and honestly, you know, good music for Valentine's Day?
Speaker 3 (05:49):
I have Do you have a first question for you?
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Out of all your songs that you have really produced
and put out there, what do you feel like is
a song everybody should have in their V Day place
list that you have made.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
In their birthday playlist?
Speaker 3 (06:02):
No V Day balance, honesty, Woo tell me more? Why
do you think so that's like one of your biggest hits.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
I feel like, honestly, is just like a human song.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
It's like it just touches everybody all across the board,
every religion, every gender, whatever.
Speaker 5 (06:19):
It's just like everybody wants to be loved. Yeah, I
feel like.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Even if you have somebody, like listen to a song
like that, it just for some reason can make you
feel even more love that like you found somebody you
can connect with. And if you're not in love, it's like, yo,
you have a little bit more faith that, Like, yo, I.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
Think I can find somebody or somebody will find me.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
It's on the way.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
We all want love, hopefully all of us, and it's
like you'll find your personal right hopefully.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Right.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Okay, So let's talk about loveday really quick. Your birthday?
Speaker 2 (06:48):
So how does that go in your household? Does white
you spoil you more or do you do more things
for her? What does be they look like in your house?
Speaker 5 (06:56):
Honestly, I feel like.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
In the beginning we try to like force it to
be like all right, we have to do it this
that way, But really I feel like she just is
of celebrating me, and then depending on if I'm like
super super busy, I'll do it something for her that
that day or the next day.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
I love that I love, but I try to make
sure you know, she just feels special and.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
We can tell by social media too, like you do
spoil your wife, which is beautiful to see.
Speaker 5 (07:24):
Yeah, it's mutual, like she makes sure I'm straight.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
That's good.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
That's good.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
So you too have a good system going on. But
what is one thing that you feel like men should
be doing something like what should they be doing for
their ladies to show love and appreciation typically around Valentine's Day?
Speaker 3 (07:41):
What are your thoughts?
Speaker 5 (07:43):
I mean you mean in the sense of romance.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Yeah, I think you should be ahead of it and
should be trying to see what are the things that
they enjoy, you know, and you know, talking out way
in advanced that way you can kind of make a note. Yeah,
like you know what I mean, especially the world economy
is crazy, so you can kind of plan a little bit.
You're not like just throwing something together. You're like, oh,
(08:05):
I remember when she said this. Yeah, my wife been
teaching me that because like she listens to me, so
she teaches me how to listen to her, Like she'll
just do things that I was casually talking.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
I'm like, well, how are you going? She's like I'm like, ah,
that's how you do it.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
So now I gotta she teaching me by not telling me,
but showing me, like this is how you do it.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
That is beautiful.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
I do love that.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
So for the ladies, tell us something top three gifts
that we should be giving our men, not for Valentine's Day,
your thoughts.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
That's difficult. I'm not a gift for receiving person. Really. Yeah,
I'm like, yeah, I'll be like, my girl, what do
you want? I'm like, I really don't want anything. Yeah,
I'm alive. You okay, I'm good.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
So more and so experiences or like memories making together.
Speaker 5 (08:56):
Is more of your vibe. I mean just chilling.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
We like we could go to like super expensive restaurant
where we can go to real lobster, just.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
Like when was we together.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
We vibing like we like we'll go anywhere, Like we'll
literally be like, oh like it's oh, let's just hit
real lobster right quick. And we don't even really eat anything,
just chilling talk and laughing. Might you know eat an
edible or.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
So I love it, yeah, just by where.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Yeah, I feel like when you get to a certain
stage of relationship, it's not even about things and stuff
like those are just add it is. But it's just
like strictly like y'all, I'm spending time with you, like yo,
I'm obsessed with you, You're obsessed with me. So just
the mere fact that we're together, that's it. Wherever we
go is a bob quality time. We love to see it.
(09:46):
We love to see it.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Okay, So when the tour ends, what does your time
look like?
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Are we relaxing? Are you working on an album? Because
we have we know, Pink Moon, we have Pink.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
Planet, Like, what's up?
Speaker 3 (09:57):
What are we doing after the tour ends?
Speaker 5 (09:59):
Please? I'm work on music now.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
While we're on the tour, that's that's the play. As
soon as I'm done this tour, I have I gotta
go overseas and do some uh not necessarily a tour stuff,
but I got a bunch.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
Of shows, private shows. So yeah, that's gonna be a.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Lot working on music. Are we getting a single this year?
Speaker 5 (10:21):
To know?
Speaker 3 (10:22):
We got some singles last year?
Speaker 5 (10:23):
Oh yeah, it's about to be a lot, a lot
of music.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
I feel like I've had so many songs. I'm just
sitting on so much music. It just got overwhelmed and
it just keep holding on to it. Like me and
the team, it's like, you gotta put this out, like
because I'll be playing it on the bus because I'm like,
I'm trying to see what people think, like, nah, this,
this has to come out. So now I'm just juiced uff.
I'm like, nah, yeah, I'm about to start just dropping records.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
Crazy?
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Are we talking Spring Summer?
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Like honestly, probably sooner and you could think like probably
before the tour is over, I'll probably drop as long.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
I love it. I love it.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Okay, So we have that information waiting on that drop.
But also want to know because you've had some great
collaborations in the past, I mean from Tory Kelly to Black,
I mean, the.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
List really does go on. Do you have any like.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Special collaborations you want to do this year or you know,
we're kind of vibing and just kind of seeing how
it all works out.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
That's a great question.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
I feel like this year, I just want to work
with everybody who is the best.
Speaker 5 (11:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
It's not rather I'm like a fan of them or anything.
It's just like I'm at.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
The point of my career where I want to learn.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
From people who are further than me. Yea, whether I'm
like a personal fan or not it's I'm taking that.
Speaker 5 (11:40):
Off the table because you know, artists.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
We were, you know, we have our own preferences and things,
and I feel like sometimes those prefaces can keep you
from learning at certain things as far as like song
being a songwriter, which is my first passion. Yeah, I
really want to dive into that a lot more and
just work. But a lot of cool artists who are
like really pushing the needle.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
It would be nice, what should be nice?
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Okay, We're just gonna wait and see what happens this year.
You know, we have a lot of great collaborations already.
It's like kind of hard to like continuously top that.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
But we'll see. We'll see what's coming.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
So last up, by the way, twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
So at the beginning of the year, what are some
things you really want to accomplish or see happen this year?
Speaker 4 (12:23):
I feel like you have the juice pone, like you
know what you want.
Speaker 5 (12:25):
Yeah, I know. I feel like on as an artist,
my first goal is to be free.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
I feel like I've been kind of free but not
fully free, and I feel like my freedom is Hey,
when I make a song, if I like it, I'm
putting it out.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
Yeah, I'm not.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Gonna overthink it and be like, oh, well, I don't
know this. It's like, no, it's music. It's coming out.
I want to build more with the community of people
that support me, and I'm figuring out the avenue is
to do those things, which is it's fun. It's like
a fun experience because I'm falling in love with the
process all over again.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
And leave one last word for the people, especially independent artists.
What are some advice or words of you know, encouraging
our wisdom you want to lead to those who are
looking to be independent.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Oh, if you want to be independent, you got to
be prepared to learn and to execute. So the things
you're learning, you have to be prepared to execute those
things you're learning.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
And you also have to as ecod you over there,
you have to be.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Willing to put your ego to the side to truly
be free.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
I feel like the ego can for a lot of
artists be a prison.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
So you have to be willing to put your ego
to the side to be an amazing independent artist. And
if you're going to be independent, my suggestions travel you
understand how the world comes together, and you understand how
small you are in the role of the globe, so
you kind of just that will help you put your
(13:57):
ego to the side. You're well, you know what, like,
why am I thinking so much? Right, nobody's thinking about
me twenty four to seven. Let me just put this
music out. If they love it, they.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
Love it, yeah, and if not, at least you can
appreciate what you put out there.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
Yeah, and also be ready to spend some money.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
It's not cheap, right, it's.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Not gonna be cheating. Yeah, you're gonna have some nights
and you're like, all right, hold.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
On how much dang right?
Speaker 5 (14:22):
I get it. I get it.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
It's not cheap to be in the music businessespecially independent,
but we do appreciate the work that independent artists really sure.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Yeah, the building the business is built on independent absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Any less words, you want to leave with the people,
keep showing love.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
And if you're at the tour, if you're coming to
the tour, I don't know when this is dropping, but
from me to you, welcome home.
Speaker 5 (14:44):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
I love it once again.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Alexandria Kamoni, iHeartRadio with Peak swats.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
Yeah, o, Kadi, I think that's what they say. In Japan.
In Japan, they say oh,
