Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's up guy, It's a girl, Alexandria. Iicamoni in the studio.
I heart radio with OMG, the OMG Girl. We have
zon Nique. Yes, how are you well? Happy to have
you in studio.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
I'm happy to be here. Yes.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Now we have Brianna Hello, happy to have you. Love
the hair too, fiery with the little purple pink. We
love it, thank you absolutely.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
And Beija. How you doing girl, I'm doing good. Yes,
happy to have you in studio. Yeah, I'm excited to
be here. Here we are.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
I'm excited to have you guys. I mean I've known
about the OMG Girl since my younger days. So super
happy to have you guys in studio to talk about
getting back together, you know, doing great things right now.
Because we have a tour coming up, we do tell
us what fans can expect from this upcoming tour.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Our fans can definitely expect a real OMG experience and
you've if you've come to one of our shows before,
it's definitely we're taking them back. Yes, and definitely you know,
high energy, a lot of.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
You know, a lot of nostalgic, but it's still mature.
It's reminiscent of what people have known us for. But
I think people are about to see a whole different.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Side of us.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Yeah, we haven't seen absolutely, And I'm gonna, oh, go ahead,
you want to have something.

Speaker 5 (01:15):
I was just gonna say, the elevation is going to
be shown.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
We love that.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
We can't wait to see that for sure, and we're
going to dive a little bit deeper into the newer sound,
the elevated sound that you guys have. But I first
wanted to start back a little further. First, you guys
disbanded in twenty fifteen then came back together.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
What happened and.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Why did you guys decide to regroup and make new
music in this time?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Well, we for one with us, like we never said
that we were not going to make music together, but
in the moment, we all want to do separate things.
And you know, we have been together since we were
like twelve and just our young ages, so everybody everybody were,
you know, growing up maturing. He was like, you know,
everybody want to do a little bit growing of our separately. Yeah,

(01:57):
grow a little grown separately. But it made it a
lot better with us getting back together because everybody it's
so like far ahead when it comes to what we
all do individually, everybody brings a better element to the
group now that like everybody is stronger individually, which makes
us stronger together. And we just felt like this was
the perfect time to, you know, do some do something

(02:19):
for our fans. We were going through our lawsuit, and
I feel like it gave us a time to just
be together because we were always talking about like we
should do this to come back, or we should start,
you know, recording, but I think everybody schedules and everybody's
just into doing their own things. So being together for
the court, I meant for the lawsuit really for the court.

(02:40):
Just really we was just like, you know, let's let's
start now, like we're together every day, let's get in
the studio.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
And it just kind of happened like that.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
Yeah, I love that.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I love that. And we're also going to talk about
the lawsuit.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Of course, what you guys can say about that, because
we all jaw dropped when we heard that, you know,
it was decrease and reduced in amount. But we will
talk about first if we can. We aren't teens anymore.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
We know this.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Like I said, I've known you guys, I've known the
group since back in the day, but the sound is
a little bit different now as we're older, Right, So
how would you guys describe the sound that you guys
have today today?

Speaker 4 (03:14):
I would say just more mature and reflective of who
we are, Me and the girls. We have a hand
in all of the creative process. We have months to
kind of create what we wanted to sound like as adults,
and so even when we go when we work with
different songwriters and producers, it's like we're bringing them into
our world and we're able to kind of let them
know like, hey, this is what we want, opposed to

(03:36):
like them creating a sound for us.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
And like when we were younger.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Untie Tamika did a lot of like our song selection
and just like hey, I think y'all should cut this,
or hey, I think this should be changed. And now
we kind of come to her and be like, okay,
andn Sie, what do you think about this song?

Speaker 2 (03:49):
What you you know? What I mean, like, how you
like this?

Speaker 4 (03:51):
So I think that now it's just more reflective of
who we are. Still fun, it's still upbeat, it's still
all the elements that make og OMG, but it's just
has a real personal touch on it from us, Me
and z any engineer.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
We all right, we learned how to engineer, so you
really get.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
A real feel of like us, it's just all around artists,
not just going into booth and recording a song. I
love it.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Anybody else want to add to that?

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Or I.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Love that?

Speaker 1 (04:19):
And what else? Was like, really, you guys ate this up?
It was the newest song Tea. Yes, but let's talk
about it. Why did you guys decide to put out
this record?

Speaker 5 (04:34):
Well, you know, it's the summertime, so we wanted to
put out something with some high energy. Get the girls dancing,
sorry but my voice, get the girls dancing and do
their things very rast. I love her. Yeah, yeah, So
Tea is produced by Tommy Brown. We asked Sarn and
Blue on it to write too, but we all came
in collectively and did our thing. Also. We had other
producers there, can't think of their names right now, but

(04:54):
it was a great team of people. It was such
a vibe. It was all. We were out in l
A and we made this song and we felt it.
As soon as we heard the beat, we knew it
was the one. So as soon as we heard it,
we was like we got to put this out so
and you know, to motivate people to love themselves, of
your bodies because it is Sea is being you, not
on you. So shan bray like you are because it's.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
I love that absolutely anything else you want to add
to that. Thanks listening, you guys are.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Really hitting it on the head. Thanks. I'm absolutely here
for it.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
So we have the single, of course, other singles have
been put out, But what about an upcoming album or EP?

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Can we expect that anytime soon? You know, we have
been talking about a project. We're not sure if it's
going to be an album first because it will be
our first full body of work that we'll put out.
But we have been working really hard on the project
and we've been recording a lot of good music. So
you know, sooner than later we'll put all the pieces

(05:47):
together to put out the project. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
And you guys are mentioning Tamika tiny working with her.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Of course she oversees what you guys do.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
First time with you Za Niku, What is it like
really working with your mom in this way?

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Because how she oversees you know what?

Speaker 3 (06:01):
It's an experience every day something different. Yeah, and I
feel like I've definitely learned how to cope with like
her giving me critiques, and because she's very like a
perfection she's really a perfectionist, and she watches two critique
which what she should do.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
But it's like she's my mom.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
So it's yeah, when I was younger, I really like
my feelings used to be her. But now it's like
I see that she's just always wanted the big you know,
she's looking at the bigger picture.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
So I you know, it's I've learned how to deal
with Yah. I love that.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
And I've interviewed Tinya a couple of times and she
always just talks. When she talks about the groups, you
can feel like the mom energy. So what is it
like having that, you know, figure really helped mold you
guys within the group as well.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
I mean she's just always been very passionate about us
from the start.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
I mean, you know, we are her brain child.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
This was her idea and really pretty much every facet
of the group when it comes down to like our look,
our sound, you know, she had a direct hand in.
So I think just being able to be up underneath
her and kind of really learn from somebody who is
like a multi platinum selling artist and she's a Grammy
Award with his songwriter. It's like the things and the

(07:15):
knowledge that she's given us is like stuff you can't
even go pay for, you know.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
And I think, like Nika says, she is very critical.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
She's very like, you know, a perfectionist when it comes
to us, But I think we're like her passion project.
And whenever it comes to OMG, whatever it is that
needs to be done, however it needs to get done,
she's always gonna do it.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
She's gonna lay it all on the line.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
So we definitely appreciate it and it's really catapulted us
to where we are right now.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
Yeah, we love her so much. Shout out to auntitout
out to Aunt to me because she's everything and more
and she treats us all the same. She makes sure
everybody looks at it best. She don't want nobody like
linking one way or another, and she wants only the
best for us and you can feel that in every
way she gets it.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
So yeah, so you can definitely feel that with her.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
So shout out to her for doing her thing with
the OMG girls and she obviously her NTI I mean
you guys all were a part of this lawsuit. You
were rewarded seventy one mil. And then it dropped down
to one dollar. From what I was reading, What can.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
You guys say?

Speaker 4 (08:13):
I don't know how much we can say, but I
do know that we will always fight for what's ours.
The fight is not over. We will keep going until
we can't go no more. And you know, that's just
what it is. We have an amazing team of lawyers.
They are awesome. They have become like family to us.
They have now become fans of the group from just
having to do all the you know, the research and stuff.

(08:35):
And I think that everybody feels so passionately about just
the fact that you.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Know, this was clear.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
You know it was clear, and it was concise, and
so I think because of that reason.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
We're gonna keep going. We're gonna keep going until we
can't go no more.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Anything else you want to add to that.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
We didn't come this war just to come this war.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
I didn't. You didn't when you got the news of
it being dropped from seventy one mil to a dollar?

Speaker 4 (08:58):
What were your thoughts? I went into a fight, Molde.
Immediately we gotta fight.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
Yeah, definitely. First thing is to keep going like they
didn't make it like discourage like or anything. It's just
like kind of question mark, question mark question mark. Yeah,
no time to put a period to it.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yeah, I get Okay, I love it.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Now let's talk about if not for my girls trip,
what was it like filming for the season.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
It was so much fun. We got a trip.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
To Miami, we to be together. Yeah, love hanging out
and being together. Yeah, taking trips together. And we also
got to perform on the Coca Cola stage at Essence,
And I mean it was just an overall great.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Experience for sure. For sure.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
What was it like working and being a part of
this with Regendent Carter as well?

Speaker 4 (09:46):
Well, you know, Nay is like one of the one
of the founding members of so it definitely we're always
around these around her, you know, this period in real life.
But it was cool to have that experience with her
and to be able to do that, and we just
had a great time.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
It was a lot of fun. It was a lot
of fun.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
And I love that moment we get money together.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
And you're in Miami.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Okay, Yeah, So let's talk about anything. Maybe on the
show or in the season that you feel like didn't
get to be properly portrayed from you guys, or what
do you want people to know from that that they
might not have gotten to see from that experience.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
I think, honestly, I think it would have been dope
if my sister could have been a part too, you
know what I mean, because she I don't know. I
just felt like it was just such like a nostalgia thing.
It was like the four of us was there, you
know what I mean, and my sister also was in
a group.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
But I think I don't think that it was really anything.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
I think that everything that was shown it pretty much
covered it. It covered the friendship, It covered how we
operate around each other, and even like Bri said, those
bonding moments that we had, it was a special moment
that her emergin they had, and I think that that
was important.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
So I think it all came together really dope. It
really did really well. Yeah, was perfect. But that's good
to hear too, because sometimes with shows it can be yeah,
oh yeah, yeah, So that's really good to hear.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Now let's get personal. Since we're talking about bonding and
family and all that good stuff. So it's Onny starting
with you. How is mom life? Oh, mom life is wonderful. Honestly,
mom life and work life is a little hard. I'm
starting to understand, like you know, moms, even my mom, like, yeah,
how are you doing it? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Like honestly. And I feel like for.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
My mom, like she had my grandma, like my grandma,
my grandparents on lot, like, but my mom and just
my child's grandparents, even my dad, like they're just always
so busy. I'm like, how, you know, like I need
y'all like y'all needed my grandparents. But you know, I'm
just navigating that part of it. But it's such a blessing.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
I love being a mom.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Are you learning to have your own parenting style when
it comes to your child or do you feel like
you take a lot of what you've had experienced growing up?

Speaker 3 (12:05):
You know what, I think a little bit of both.
I feel like, for me, I'm a real go with
the flow type person. So I want to say I'm
like creating my own ways with my child, Like I'm
really patient with her and she's really like I want
it now, she's like spoiled like the princess. So I

(12:26):
think that a lot of times like when people see
like how we how we are with each other, it's
like whoa, Like you have a lot of patience with
that little girl because she's off.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
The wall a little bit. I love it.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
What's the biggest advice you can give to working moms
in today's world? It's different than twenty years ago, right,
Like in today's world, what's the biggest advice?

Speaker 3 (12:45):
My biggest advice would be when you have those times,
those off times where you can not have a baby
and not work, just chill.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Just stay in the house and enjoy your home.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
You know, really relax and enjoy those moments because we
don't get those moments as moms.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Just to relax a lot.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
It's like you always feel like when you have a break,
it's like, oh, I gotta get my nails now, I
gotta do this.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
I need to go get a drink, like things that
you don't get to do.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
But it's like sometimes just chill, Yeah, just relax. It's
okay to relax.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
That's good about it.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
I write and ain't a parent and nobody yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
One hundred percent of Asia. You recently put out a
single by yourself called do Me Now.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
How was that? What was the process like for putting
that together.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
It's a pretty singular thing. I would say, like I
engineered all my stuff. So I wrote it, I recorded it,
and then I sent it over to my guy hiring.
He's like my best friend and he also engineers for me,
and so he mixed it. It was just something to
throw out. Really, it wasn't anything that I really was
trying to like, you know, oh.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
This what we got it? You know what I mean?
But I just enjoy making music. I enjoy creating music.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
And you know, whether it's like I'm doing it for
fun or I'm doing it to be serious, I like
just you know, like to put stuff out makes sense.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
You got to just have those passion projects. You just yeah,
and it's literally just a patrio. Yeah yeah, I love
that for sure.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Now what else are you working on personally or with
work related stuff?

Speaker 2 (14:15):
What's what's going on in your world. I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
The biggest thing in my world right now is the
tour and with the girls and I have going on.
I think that I'm really good at like prioritizing, and
so I feel like right now, like just what the
girl what we're doing is like my main focus my
main priority. I really really want this to succeed and
do well, and I know the girls feel the same way.

(14:38):
And also it's just always really fun being with them,
like almost every day. It reminds me of like when
we were kids, you know, but it's like now you're own.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
It's like after this, we could go eat and get
a drink.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
Yea.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
I have a good time, So I get it one.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
I'm not gonna lie. You're kind of hard to find
some stuff on the internet, so that's good. That's good.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
You tell me more about what's going on in your.

Speaker 5 (14:59):
World myself, like you know, OMG girls definitely the tours
the main thing right now and stuff. But afterwards, following up,
I'll be having some singles released and stuff. I just
wanted to make sure to put the time, you know, yeah,
tim and if it makes sense or whatever. But myself
also have a YouTube log I'm working on. I need
to post more vlogs. I know y'all loan me, but
I got them coming because I got so many stacked
up to come. So but yeah, I love doing music myself,

(15:22):
and I do have singles out right now. Selfish is
the only thing out on my platform, but I'm gonna
put back up working with some because she's a special
baby of mine and I don't wanna watch came down,
but we're gonna do that. You miss the time. I
need more music to come. But yeah, my main thing
right now is OMG girls. The name stays tour. We
got to come in up. Make sure you get your
tickets at www dot pretty also dot com.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Now.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Ending on a positive note, the end of the.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Year is coming up so fast, by the way, four
more moments.

Speaker 5 (15:47):
Yes, Merry Christmas at this one.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Literally okay, hell keep up anymore?

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Okay, So what are some things you want to accomplish
personally and with the group by the end of the year.
Since we have less of four months at this point,
I would say for us as a group, like having
a complete project maybe by the end of the year.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Yes, like feel solid, like we love this and so
we can go into the new year, which is you know,
something that we can be excited about it. We will
have a lot of things to be excited for it anyway,
I just know it for us and our music like
that would make us happy and personally, you know, I

(16:29):
don't know, maybe getting like kids under the missiletoe from
somebody that from somebody that really that I like you like, no, okay,
yeah you do.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
It's hotly we're manifest listen.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
I definitely agree with that. That's the main thing is
having the project done. I don't see, you know, everything
else is already happening and it's blowing. That's major top
of the list for project finish and you'll find out
when it's coming. And then for myself, I want to
just continue on my finished journey like continuously, like be
very consistent in it and getting these abs like really

(17:19):
popping like I want them to buy. And then yeah,
I don't know, like I mean, you know the music
of course, doing that posting on on my YouTube and yeah,
and then I mean it'll be nice and I have
a lonely Christmas. But even if I do, I got families.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
We're manifesting matching pajamas for.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
I think for me, I definitely want to start like
another like business venture. I don't know what that is
or what that looks like. I've done like hair stuff before.
I might try to like revamp that in some type
of different way. I haven't really decided that yet. And
for me and the girls outside of like our project
and stuff.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
I really really really.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Want us to do like a second leg of this
tour and hit all the places that, like the fans
felt that we didn't come to and hopefully by that time,
you know, the project is outer, it is coming out,
so we can promote that and you know, do that
and also to like, I want me and these girls
to have a number one record. So I think that
our biggest thing is just like, well, my biggest thing

(18:28):
for us is just really getting that hit like I
want us to have. I mean, you know, really the
little the Netflix K pop thing, the Demon Slayer girls,
they were the first girl group to have.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
A number one in twenty years on Billboard. But I
don't think they're a real group. I mean they might
be a real group, but I don't think they're a
real group. I feel like I.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
Want my girl Hello Hello, to really come through and
get real number.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
So I think that's definitely a goal of mine for us.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Yeah, don't skip the personal yeah, person, yes, business venture
and maybe like the like a new purchase.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
So I don't know what that purchase will be, but
something that can like benefit me in some type of way,
maybe like an investment property or something you know like that.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Absolutely, yeah, I love that. I love the any last
words you guys want to leave with the fans listening.

Speaker 4 (19:20):

wanted to really add to that.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
