Womanhood is Complicated! Living in a misogynistic world is tough yet something we’ve all come accustomed to navigating. But, enough is enough. We’re pushing for changing and demanding we are heard and respected.
Segment 1: What’s Happening Now
Covering the latest with the Supreme Court hearing for Brett Kavanaugh and the numerous sexual assault complaints against him that have surfaced, one most notably from Dr Christine Blasey Ford. Discussing Dr Ford’s and Kavanaugh’s hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Also discussing the baddest woman in tennis, Serena Williams and her words at the U.S. Open that reminded us that we have a voice.
Segment 2: Self-Care
With all of the talk of sexual assault, it’s time we pull back and take some time to take care of ourselves. Shut off the news, social media, and take care of you, especially sexual assault survivors. The moment we are in now can be triggering so I want to talk about the great need for self care now more than ever.
Segment 3: Black Excellence
Times up! Time to focus on the founder of the #MeToo movement, Tarana Burke. A woman on a mission to shed light on sexual assault in our society. Her work since 2006 has been paramount and her continued efforts in the movement is amazing.
