What do you desire? Food and water are essential to human thriving. And the readings today indicate that God cares about both. But God cares about more. Not just food to eat, and water to drink. No, water to give eternal life, and food to join us to the real presence.

Arts and Crafts. God knows what he has made. And what he's trying to say in this first reading is that God is all-powerful. That God can do whatever God wants. Time travel. Memory is something that is just wonderful for us to consider. In fact, when we come to Mass, it's a special type of memory that we participate in, an anamnesis. Which takes an event that occurred and makes it present always, that Jesus does that.

Twice. God prays when we do not know how. God strengthens us when we are weak, and gives us more than just one second chance. God gives his forgiveness each and every time we ask. In asking for forgiveness, God makes this ask take root in something we can experience in this world, something we can know for certain is true.

St. Bonaventure. While these are simply the readings of the day, the gospel today is really connected, I think, with people like Saint Bonaventure who sought to seek understanding.
