This week we are going back to our roots and covering a ‘Berta case and discussing the still unsolved murder of Kelly Cook. Kelly was a bright-eyed, smart, and gentle 15 year old girl with an old-soul and aspirations of becoming lawyer one day. As her mother Marion describes her, she was 3 going on 90 always. Kelly was also a very well known and sought after baby sitter in the little village of Standard, Ab, where she lived with her family.
On the morning of April 22 1981, Kelly was offered a baby sitting opportunity from a man named Bill Christiansen. Kelly accepted and left her home at 8:30pm with “Bill”. This was the last time Kelly was seen alive. The investigation began immediately due to Kelly’s responsible nature and personality but unfortunately on June 28, 1981, Kelly’s body was discovered in the Chin Lake Reservoir; 2 hours south of Standard. What happened during the investigation? Why is it still unsolved 40 years later? What do you think happened to Kelly? Listen to find out!
