Speaker 1 (00:00):
Thank you, welcome to a D&D story.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
I am Brennan, the Irish Wookiee, and welcome to a

(00:38):
very special Christmas D&Depisode, brennan the Irish
Wookiee.
And welcome to a very specialChristmas D&D episode.
We had a great opportunity toplay a charity game with Ryan as
a Dungeon Master.
He's better known by his onlinepersona of RunDMG Make sure you
go check him out at DMGunderscore Run Fantastic guy.

(01:03):
We had such a good time withhim.
But because we had such a goodtime, we decided to release this
completely un unedited, so youget to hear us from the start of
our campaign, our start of ourone shot, all the way to the end
with him.
We had a just a great timeoverall.
We were laughing the entiretime and I highly recommend go
follow this guy.
He's, he is wonderful.

(01:23):
So during the episode we had uhryan as the dungeon master.
Like I said, uh, and then asplayers there was bill from our
normal campaign myself, uhandrew, who is our community
game dungeon master.
Make sure you uh join us on onsunday or monday nights.
He releases a schedule that ison our discord.
I will put that once again upon our social media slam and

(01:47):
I'll list it at the end of thisepisode.
And then we also had one of ourlong-time listeners, ray.
So we had a great time.
We all played level 15characters.
But without further ado, goenjoy yourself.
Happy holidays everybody.
And here we go.
Dnd christmas story hi, craig.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
All right, quick, quick stuff.
I went over.
I viewed these previously, butit's always good to look at um.
I looked over the the consentchecklist stuff.
Um looks good.
You know I always send that outbecause you never know.
People have a lot ofsensitivities, complete
strangers.
You have no idea who I am.
Right, I could be a ragingmonster.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I feel like uh you look like a raging monster in
your christmas sweater I couldjust be like we're gonna do a
bunch of gore.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
No, it's like it sends off the message I'm I'm
willing to listen to you.
I think it's always a good step.
Everything I didn't see therewas no reds, which are hard
lines.
There were some veils, but allof those pretty much line up
with.
Oh, there was sexual assault.
Somebody put sexual assaultA-OK in my book.

(03:00):
This is a Christmas adventure.
We're going to keep thisthoroughly PG-13.
So, no, no, children aren'tgonna be in this.
It's all gonna be like elvesand stuff like that.
I guess the existential threatof maybe Christmas being ruined
to the world of kids might causesome form of harm, but we're
not gonna really have to worryabout like seeing that or

(03:20):
spending a lot of time like ontheir, on their faces as they
cry.
We're not gonna go into that.
And a lot of the other things Isaw that were like veils, like
the yellow were, uh, self-harm,sexual assaults, uh like
explicit relationships betweennpcs and stuff like that.
All of those things that arejust not going to come up in

(03:40):
this adventure.
Like I guess if one of youreally wants to start making out
with one another, like I guesswe could, we could do that, but
it's not.
It's not what I have planned.
Um, some of us are just prudeyeah, it's such a prude.
And then I saw some like socialand cultural stuff, like racism
and real world religion we'renot really gonna get.
I mean, I guess it's christmas,like there'll be a vague

(04:02):
christian vibe, and even this isis like the Santa Claus Santa,
where it's like yes and no, hevisits every kid.
It's not just like a Christianthing, but yeah, no homophobia,
don't worry about that.
We're not going to worry aboutany pregnancy, miscarriages or
self-harm.
This is going to be a prettyfunny, light-spirited game.

(04:23):
On my end, I'm not a big fan oflike sexual assault stuff.
I just I don't like get intolike the nitty-gritty of torture
and gore like I'll describelike maybe a gory scene, but I'm
not gonna like spend.
There's some dungeon mastersthat will spend like 20 minutes
describing the amount of bloodand where it drips from in a
room.
I'm not that type of person.
It's just at a certain it'sjust like watch a Saw movie.

(04:46):
I like to keep things prettylight and fun.
This whole adventure isobviously going to be like Santa
Claus themed, so it's going tobe kind of in that niche If, at
any time, anything that ishappening makes anybody feel
uncomfortable.
There's two things I picked uprecently that I really like.

(05:08):
It goes with lines and veils, but it's moving right along.
If you feel like you'reapproaching a weird spot, it's
not super uncomfortable where ithas to stop now, but you're
just like maybe we should justget going.
It's like moving right along.
That's basically you saying,hey, we're approaching a veil,
let's figure out what's going onnext, let's, let's not focus in

(05:30):
on this thing.
Um, and the the hard line wordis that's a wrap.
Like it's, that's a wrap.
Let's, let's move on like it'sdone.
And if it's that's a wrap,we'll stop for a second.
Figure out what's going on,reset whatever that implies.
Um, if that means like thatscene didn't happen, we reverse
time or we augment the scene.
So it's a little morereasonable to your expectations

(05:52):
for like or, I guess, more inline with your sensibilities.
I picked those up from roll forwishes, which is the um make a
wish foundation stream thing, and I thought it was kind of fun
.
It's a little more natural thanbeing like X-Card, like yelling
X-Card or line or veil, ordoing like hands.
It's kind of natural and itfeels easy to do in the moment.

(06:13):
It's not, you know, like ohcrap, what is the safety word or
oh crap, like how do I do that?
If, for any reason, you don'tfeel comfortable saying those
things, send me a direct message.
If, for whatever reason, Idon't see it or I'm not picking
up, you can send a directmessage to somebody else and
then they can tell me If anybodynotices any of those kind of
messages.
Just we can figure it out asthe time comes.

(06:34):
Pretty simple stuff, alright.
Any questions before weactually get?

Speaker 2 (06:40):
into the no, no questions for me.
Appreciate you going over allthat.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Oh, I guess we could introduce.
I'm ryan, by the way.
I go by run dmg online.
I do a lot of social mediastuff and this is, in fact, uh,
a reward for one of the charitydrive things I was doing.
So I really appreciate y'all umdoing this.
This is going to be I thinkthis is the first time I've.
I think this is the first timeI've done one of these games.
So if it goes well, great.
If it goes poorly, maybe.
I won't put it up, but yeah, sois everybody.

(07:13):
I know I've asked this likethree times, but is everybody.
Let's do it All good Was thenight before Christmas when all
throughout the stronghold not acreature was stirring, not even
a kobold.
The stockings were hung by thechimney with care in hopes that
she'd be there.
I assume all have been.

(07:33):
You know you're level 15,you've been adventuring for a
while.
You've probably got massedquite a bit of fortune.
You've laid down roots whereveryou are.
Every great adventuring partyneeds a stronghold.
I'd like to go in no particularorder around.
I'd like you to describe yourcharacter, maybe give a little

(07:54):
blurb about them, maybe describea single aspect of your
stronghold.
What preparations have youtaken for this Christmas season?
What did they write santa toget this year, and do you think
you're on the naughty?

Speaker 2 (08:11):
okay, you going first bill yeah, I'll go all right.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
So valen, dusk whisker, dusk, whisper is a a
half, is a half-elf, a half-darkelf, half-human.
Stands about 5'8", lean, athletic build, vigorous due to
her vigorous training as apaladin.
Skin of ashen gray.
She blends her human and darkelf heritage and her long

(08:42):
silvery white hair cascades downher back in intricate braids,
reminding her of her drowlineage, has piercing violet
eyes that glow faintlyespecially in low light, giving
her an otherworldly appearance.
She wears, uh, sleek, darkenedsteel armor with actually it's

(09:03):
not steel, it is mithril uh,with shimmering runes etched
across the surface, makingmaking her divine connection
into dark magic.
She wields a dark crimson cloak, gift from the crimson saint
flows behind her, embroideredwith silvery thread in the shape
of holly leaves and subtlesymbols of protection.
Despite her commandingappearance, valence faces often

(09:25):
soft with contemplation, thoughit hardens quickly in a presence
of enemies, her sharp featuresreflecting her nobility and the
harsh realities of her life.
Um, so valen is, as I said, ahalf drow, half human and, uh,
she.
Her father was a, a noblepaladin.
Her mother was a renegade darkelf sorceress.

(09:47):
She was raised by them untilthey were murdered, and she has
spent her life going aroundrighting wrongs.
Her father was a hero of theOrder of the Radiant Blade,
sought to cleanse the world ofevil.
Mother was an exile from theunderdark, taught her the power

(10:07):
of power hidden in darkness.
So we tore between these twolegacies valence for unique oath
to protect the innocent by anymeans necessary, even if it
means embracing the darkeraspect of her head.
So, um, that's kind of herdescription, a little bit of her
backstory, but so her, herstronghold, is gonna be, kind of

(10:27):
it, a dark elf and a partpaladin.
So she's gonna have theintricate and ornate decorations
throughout her stronghold, butit's gonna be a lot of austere.
This is, uh, very functional.
There's not a lot of, there's alot of beauty and all that, but

(10:51):
it's not ostentatious.
Where it's unneeded it's, youknow, for specific reasons.
And and as far as decorationsnot a, not a lot of decoration
for the season, but thepreparations that she's made is,
she always makes sure thatthere is food left out for those
that can't get food forthemselves.

(11:12):
So she usually puts the foodout, leaves food out that
doesn't spoil, so that it'salways available for the poor
can come and take some of thefood if they need it and anybody
that is in need of protection, she will allow them into her
stronghold for protection.
Did I hit everything or did Imiss something?

(11:34):
Oh Christmas, oh, oh ohChristmas.
She didn't really send anythingto Santa Claus for a request.
She doesn't necessarily feelthat, not that she deserves it
or doesn't deserve it it's justnot something that she thinks of
as a I'm gonna request a giftfrom somebody and then, as far

(11:56):
as naughty or nice, sheunderstands the need for
violence.
She is not carelessly violent, but has no qualms whatsoever of
turning to violence.
So she's probably on thenaughty list, but probably right
on that line.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Nice.
Two things One, as we'reintroducing everything, if
everybody could change theirprofile name to their
character's name, it would makeit easier for me to reference.
And then two I think I may haveflubbed up a little bit so it's
a shared stronghold.
So this is all kind of likecoming together You're all
adventuring party together, soyou can kind of vamp on each

(12:40):
other as we go forward.
Maybe if it's a little austerein that section, maybe you, if
you are more festive, maybeyou've set up something in your
room so it's like a little bitmore cheerier or maybe even more
, you know, creepy or whatever.
I guess it depends on your takeon, chris, sure I'll jump into
it just changing my name overhere, okay.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
So, yeah, kael Frostbane.
So he is.
Get to my character sheet overhere, yeah.
So Kael stands just under sixfeet tall, he's a Shatterkai elf
, so he's got ashen gray skinwith dark blue eyes and he's got

(13:23):
black, raven black hair andhe's got various swirling
tattoos covering his forearmsand neck.
You can tell that just from hisdemeanor that he's seen some
shit, but he tends to movearound silently and disappearing
into the night.
He is Him and his family beingShatterkai elves.

(13:47):
They were trying to escapetheir past and the history of
their people, and so they endedup in this large town where
their family struggled becausethey were still considered
outsiders because of theirlineage, and every year around
Christmas time the city wouldlike.
They would dress up for theholidays, pray to Santa Claus

(14:07):
and ask for these, these giftsof warmth and warmth and food
and shelter.
And their family never got it,no matter how often they wrote
to him.
So after one particularly coldwinter is his parents passed
away in the cold, cold winter.
His parents passed away in thecold, and he never really took
kindly to Santa Claus after that, thinking that Santa is only

(14:31):
out for himself, thinking thathe's a false deity, a false god,
if you will, and so he kind ofdedicated his early part of his
life to hunting down Santa Clausand everything that's
associated with him.
But after spending some timewith the people in this group,
he's starting to realize thatSanta may not be as bad as he
first thought.

(14:51):
And though he's still lookingfor proof so that he can prove
that Santa Claus is an evildeity, so he can take him out,
he's willing to go along withthese other do-gooders, in his
eyes for the greater good.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Any kind of decorating going on in your
section of the keep orstronghold.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Yeah, he doesn't really decorate for holidays or
anything like that.
Again, he doesn't likeChristmas, it just reminds him
of some darker days.
So while he'll enjoy some ofthe drinks, some of the food, he
typically tends to stay tohimself during the holidays, so
he just goes down to hisbasement.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
I'm assuming you didn't send a letter to Santa
Claus this year?

Speaker 2 (15:33):
No, no, he did not send a letter to Santa Claus
this year.
He hasn't sent him one in avery, very long time and in the
back of his head's he'sconvinced that santa sat him on
a permanent naughty list.
That it's not something you getto change one way or the other.
It's just you're born andyou're on that list you're born

(15:53):
with it.
You're born and, for the record, this is the first semi-evil
character that I've ever triedto play, so I'm probably going
to be absolutely terrible at itand feel terrible when I talk to
an NPC poorly, so his wholepersonality may change 10
minutes into this.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
That's his character.
Bro, who would like to go next?
I can go next.

Speaker 8 (16:20):
You want to go Ray?

Speaker 7 (16:21):
Sure, alright, I am Fiznak Frostgrim.
He is a small, wiry littlegoblin.
He's got greenish-gray skin,big bat-like ears and he's just
wearing an oversized Santa-likecoat that's belted really,
really tight so it stays up andon him and all over the coat

(16:44):
he's just covered in ornamentsJust everything sparkly,
glittery, jingle bells.
Where he can fit them, it isjust everywhere.
He's like patchwork stuff allover him.
He's got jingle bells on hisbelt and stuff like that.
He's got spiky hair.
He just looks like the livingembodiment of festive cheer.

(17:05):
He was orphaned outside of asmall halfling village of
bramble brook.
Uh, he grew up stealing andliving off of scraps and
absolutely hating the town andtheir all their christmassy
celebrations.
Uh, until one night whilestealing, he finds a small
orphan child, also starving, forsome reason, decides to share

(17:27):
his food with him and instead ofbeing thanked for it, he gets
chased out of the town andbeaten and left for dead in the
woods.
He decides he's going to giveup, let the cold take him and he
awakes in Santa Claus's arms.
He gets told that things aren'tall bad.
He's got a good heart, he'sjust got to let it thaw.
So he spends what feels likeweeks with Santa Claus, learning

(17:52):
how to use Christmas magic, etc.
He's filled with cheer andwarmth and he wakes up in his
dingy little cave with freshpajamas on.
There's a roaring fire and ahearth that he doesn't remember
being there and a small littledrum.

(18:13):
And now he's just an absoluteChristmas zealot.
Everybody has to feel theChristmas cheer.
He wants to make sure everyoneis in the spirit and knows the
goodness of Santa and Christmas.
His section of the strongholdwould just look like an absolute
flea market Christmas bonanzaStuff that he found in people's

(18:38):
trash.
There's broken lights.
He's just obsessed with it.
He can't let it go to waste.
If it's for the big man, he'sjust obsessed with it.
He can't let it go to waste.
If it's for the big man, he'sgotta have it.
And then this year forChristmas he wrote to Santa and
asked.
He wants to know if that timewas real, if it was there, or if
it was just some sort of feverdream or he just woke up to

(19:01):
Christmas presents for the firsttime.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
I'm assuming Fisnack believes them on the good list
he does.

Speaker 7 (19:08):
But he also doesn't realize how far he's willing to
go to cheer people up and thatit's not always uh wanted about
like santa claus saving you.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
There was like and when I looked behind me in the
snow there was one set offootprints because santa claus
was carrying me.
Um, amazing, amazing, amazing.
I love it.
We have a little dichotomy.
Now we have, you know, somebodyon the fence.
We have somebody seemingly kindof against christmas, and now
we have somebody like thoroughlyon santa claus's side.

(19:41):
Alright, we have one more to go.
Let's hear it.

Speaker 8 (19:48):
Alright, so Reuben Dolphier is a centaur.
He was born of a nomadic tribethat followed the red god.
They were very devout followersof him, and so he was born on
Christmas Eve under the light ofthe red comet that tells the
coming of the red god, akaRudolph's nose bringing forth
santa and his sled.
Uh, so his people saw it as asign.

(20:10):
He joined the clergy, uh, as acleric um, of santa claus, uh,
and so he reveres him as a deity.
Uh, and to him it's like santaclaus and everybody else.
Um, let's see within his portionof the stronghold.
Uh, it is kind of this mix of,you know, super religious,

(20:34):
iconogory or iconofree, howeveryou say it.
Um, almost to the point whereit's a little bit creepy, like
the figurehead of santa watchingover where he sleeps, because
he watches you day and night andhe knows if you're naughty or
nice.
Uh, the entire, the entire roomthat he has claimed is his own
one door, no windows, a singlelight, which is a snow globe,

(20:58):
which he has cast uh eternalflame on.
So it's a consistent source oflight in this darkness, much as
santa claus is in all of ourlives.
Uh, and he um wrote to santathis year.
Uh, he is actually unsurewhether, uh, he even asked for
anything in this letter.
Uh, this letter was filled withall of his deeds, all the

(21:21):
justification that he should beon the, on the nice list, on the
good list.
Um, some of it a little dark, because he actually wields the
naughty list like a hit list andand he starts at the top and he
finds the most naughty personin the realms that he can find
and you know that's public enemynumber one until that name's
off the list.
Uh, so you know it's a littlebit of a double-edged sword with

(21:44):
him, um, but in his no, johnWick did it all because of a dog
.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
All right, john was the same he goes John Wick on,
all of the people at the top ofthe list of the naughty list
yeah, yeah, um, but I think inhis heart of hearts, what he
really wants this year is atreadmill.

Speaker 8 (22:02):
Uh, he really misses the open range of his nomadic
people.
And so just to get on thetreadmill and run for hours as
if he's unimpeded by uh life ofwherever we've made life,
probably, you know, in or near acity, um, and uh yeah, he at
least thinks he's on the nicelist.

Speaker 4 (22:23):
Yeah, a treadmill's a good one.
Especially, it's hard gettingthe long ones that are
centaur-like.
You know long enough for acentaur.
You got a very long torso there, so that's a good gift.
It's probably a rare gift inmedieval times.

Speaker 8 (22:37):
I would assume.
Yeah, we might have to go witha hamster wheel and pump water
with it at the same time.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
So does he sleep on straw or a bed?

Speaker 8 (22:49):
He sleeps on straw.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
The bottom body sleeps on straw and then the top
body has like a little side bed.
It kind of just leans onto.

Speaker 8 (23:00):
He does use a pillow, though, right, I mean, he's not
a beast.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
It is a New Year's Eve.
Everybody has gone to bed forthe evening, some of you a
little more excited than others.
You're probably expectingsomething really nice under the
tree.
Some of you are probablyexpecting to not have anything,
just because either Santadoesn't exist or he might be an
idiot, according to some.

(23:25):
But all of you more or lessdrift off to sleep.
There is a loud crash, a hugeexplosion.
You can hear glass batter, stone crack, floorboards ripped
in your stronghold.
You know, at the center of thestronghold, there have dinners.

(23:47):
There you invite guests.
There's a great fireplace, abunch of uh table, comfortable
seating, uh, it's, it's theshared common space in a,
probably a source of some amountof arguing, as its amount of
decoration comes up of yourparty and it sounds like it's
coming from there.
You all are shaken awake.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Yeah, kael is going to grab his bow and start
heading in that direction asfast as he can, so he's going to
run upstairs and start headingtowards them to sound the noise.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
So Valen will.
I'm assuming you're saying thatthis sounds like a violent
noise.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
So Valen will run towards the sound to the hall,
probably bringing her sword andeverything with her you can
assume that you're all like, pretty adept at this point of
getting your clothes on andarmored in a short time, so any

(24:50):
armor, arms and everything cancome along.
You don't have to worry aboutdonning and doffing anything.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
Oh then I definitely put my pants on.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
Okay, yeah, oh, so, yeah.
So Vaylin will obviously putall of her stuff on and enter
summoner sword and run towardsthe to the sound until she gets
close.

Speaker 7 (25:15):
then she will slow down and kind of take a little
bit more of a cautious approachfizz neck will get up, probably
covered in decorating things anda plate of whatever cookies
were left out that he stole.
Throw on all of his crap, freaking out, hoping it's
something really good, but alsoreally cautious that it's not
and just start dashing to thearea he heard the noise in.

Speaker 8 (25:38):
And then it's going to take Reuven a good eight
seconds to get up.
You know just moving all hislegs trying to get him under him
from laying down in the hay.
But once he's up he is dashingat his full speed to get there,
pulling his scimitar out andlighting it up.
Not that he needs the light, but he knows that it does help

(25:59):
sometimes in the stronghold tohave a little bit extra light.

Speaker 4 (26:02):
You all make you know different directions from the
keep coming into the centrallocation.
You get there about the sametime, maybe a second or two
lapsing.
Everybody make Perceptor.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
I'm very good at this 24.

Speaker 8 (26:16):
Pretty good 30 for.
Riven 30?
.
Natural 20 plus 10.
What?

Speaker 2 (26:22):
a kind centaur, are you 13.
An observant one, I guess,natural 20 plus 10.
What a centaur are you 13?

Speaker 5 (26:27):
An observant one, I guess.

Speaker 4 (26:29):
So with a 30, there's not much.
Little hides From your eyes, reuven, as you gallop down the
stairs, entering into the greathall, you would.
To your eyes it would look likesomebody just Launched a
catapult, catapulted somethinginto your main keep.
The floor itself is cratered, the stones split, the baseboards

(26:55):
caved into it.
Much of the various furniturein this room is completely
ruined, scorched.
There's some active fires goingon.
It seems like the great firethat you had in this hall to
keep the stronghold warmthroughout this very wintry,
snowy night.
Just all of the ash, all of thecoals, all of the burning wood
has spewed all across this place.

(27:17):
You wouldn't have noticed thisfor anything, except you got a
natural 20.
There are two things that younotice.
One, there is just a hint, justa barest hint, of red and white
on what looks to be like afluffy coat on a body in the
center of this.
Two, something catches your eye.

(27:39):
You know this better thananybody.
You've been here hundreds oftimes, probably in this room,
spent hours here.
There is a small glint of magicand you wouldn't have noticed
it other than the natural 20.
There is a basically an arcaneeye, kind of in the top right
corner, and it's.
You've probably seen it.

(28:01):
Usually it's like just a littlesoft blue orb of light.
It's pretty noticeable.
This one is almost transparent.
Seeds in the surrounding airLike it almost burns the air
around it in a way Like liquidsmoke Not the food, but just
kind of this drippy fluid, andit looks to be fuss, like it's

(28:22):
not a polite little eye, it ispredatory.
It's got a long slit and it'slooking.
It notices you notice it andthen it kind of just almost
disappears as it fades to theleft of this room.
But you don't lose track of itwith that natural 20.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
You are 100% sure You're pretty sure that's Santa
Claus in the center of this room.

Speaker 8 (28:43):
Alright, so I think the first thing I would do is
cast Dispel Magic on the ArcaneEye to try and be to the point
where we're no longer beingwatched For Dispel.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
I can't remember if it's a high-level magic.
Do I roll or do you?

Speaker 8 (28:56):
roll, I roll, so it'd be a d20 plus my spellcasting
modifier I'll give you advantageon this, because I'll let that
nat 20.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
He's a much nicer DM than I am, yeah.

Speaker 8 (29:13):
So the top one's going to be a 23.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
Ooh 100%, I guess.
How do you cast this magic?
How does this take form?

Speaker 8 (29:24):
So I clutch onto my holy amulet, which is kind of
the red comet on a chain aroundmy neck, and I laugh and roll
like a bowl full of jelly andjust as the ho-ho-ho echoes, it
pulses on that arcane eye andcauses it to dissipate.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
You hear a scream kind of reverberate through this
place as this mist.
It felt dark, like when youwere kind of battling this magic
.
It felt dark and it was maybethe darkest, most malign thing
you've probably encountered in along time.

(30:05):
This was not like, hey, Iwonder what's going on over here
.
Let me check this out.
This was at purpose, it hadintent and it had fear.
Anybody else want to doanything as this is going on?

Speaker 7 (30:17):
I feel like my perception check was pretty low,
so I feel like I didn't reallynotice what's going on?

Speaker 4 (30:22):
You're scratching your head.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
I'm sorry, go ahead.
I was going to ask is Kale ableto track where Reuven is
focused on?

Speaker 4 (30:34):
Yes, with a 23, you also notice that there is just
like a hint of red and whitefabric at the center of this
crater.
But yeah, you notice that hedid something.
It was a quick little shot ofmagic and you can see the after
effect something kind ofdispersed, but you didn't catch
what it was.
But you do get like with a 23,you do get a little feeling of

(30:57):
like you hear that scream, thatafter effect as it gets
dispelled and it's disconcertingto see.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Okay, just based off of the day it is, he's a little
on edge.
You're going to see his bow'sgoing to have a little bit of
tension on it.
He's not pulling it back, butit's going to have a little bit
of tension on his string.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
From the crater you hear a.

Speaker 5 (31:21):
I know there's people in here Help.

Speaker 7 (31:25):
At the ho, ho, ho.
Fiznak's gonna like light uplike a lunatic and he's like I
know him, I know him and startstrying to shake somebody.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
But since he's so small and really weak, he just
starts faking himself likevibrating at the entrance of the
room and you see the hand fromthe crater, kind of like move
the entrance of the room and yousee the hand.
From the crater.
Kind of like move aside some ofthe wrecked furniture.

Speaker 5 (31:50):
Just.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Yeah, Kale is not going to help.
I want to be very clear aboutthis.

Speaker 7 (31:59):
So Is that probably going to start bolting forward,
trying to get close enough tocast Cure Wounds or something,
because he's now just like ohcrap, it's Santa's here, just
launches yourself into the hole.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
It's like two feet, which is, I mean, considering
it's Starkstone Is impressivethat he hit so hard.
You launch yourself, you startclearing all the rubble away.
You find, like on his back, yousee the big puffy White beard
the nice, I mean, it's a littlesmashed.
You find, like on his back yousee the big puffy white beard
the nice, I mean, it's a littlesmashed right now, but there's
the big ruddy nose.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
You don't help me fish neck.
Oh, you think you can help out.
Just give me one of those sweetlittle cure wounds.

Speaker 7 (32:44):
Yeah, I'll dump a cure wound into Santa real quick
.

Speaker 4 (32:47):
Alright, you do that.
What level?
First level, what level?

Speaker 7 (32:49):
Uh yeah it's gonna be a first level, so it's gonna be
for 13 hit points.

Speaker 4 (32:54):
Oh, okay, that ain't nothin'.

Speaker 7 (32:56):
He's gonna take an ornament off of his jacket and
like bite it open and then justpour like a magic out of it as
his healing spell.
It's like tinsel.

Speaker 4 (33:10):
Absorbs into the skin .
You hear some like there-knitting of bones, so like
some snapping that's happeningunderneath his coat as the bones
are getting re-knit.
You can notice that some of thered in his coat there's red
where there's probably supposedto be some white and you can see
that almost like drain away asit kind of like reforms back in
the body.

(33:30):
You gotta like thank you,Fizstack.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
Oh, you're such a good boy.
I knew I could count on you.
Fizstack, Could you help me up.

Speaker 7 (33:41):
He's gonna start like pulling and like waving over
the rest of them.
God, it's Santa.

Speaker 8 (33:47):
God.
Santa help me up Upon therealization that that is in fact
Santa.
Um Reuben is gonna drop hisfront two horse legs down and
bow and say Red God, yourservant, awaits you.

Speaker 5 (34:03):
Oh, I don't, I, I Red .
God's a new one.
You can call me Old Saint Nickif you want.
Call me Santa Claus.
I don't know, god seems strong.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
So, Valen will take a step forward and kind of lean
forward and reach out her handto help him up and basically say
welcome to our strongholdCrimson Saint.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
Got a beast, man grasp as I pulled up.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
It's glad that I could finally make it out here.
Of course I came last year, butyou're supposed to come more.
You know, friends come morethan just once a year.
But I didn't come here just fornothing.
Great turmoil is happening atthe North Pole.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
It's under siege by and his mouth moves and he says
something, but like it's sour toyour, your ear, your ears
refuse to hear the name that hementioned.
You try to think of the way hislips moved, but it gets all
twisted up in your mind.

Speaker 5 (35:15):
It's on the naughty list and he's trying he grabs,
he, he, he grabs valent.
He's trying to reverse thenaughty list.
He's trying to put all the goodpeople on the naughty side and
all the bad people on the goodside.
He's trying to take my job.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
So you see a light, a glint in Valen's eyes and a
flash of anger across her faceas she realizes that, oh, Hello.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
Oh, I think he's being called by somebody else.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
It's a very dramatic pause.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
He gets really into the game.

Speaker 8 (36:01):
He's actually on his way to the North Pole right now.
He's going to save Santahimself.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Yeah.
So Kale, at hearing that thenaughty and nice is going to be
reversed, you see he perks up alittle bit and he takes a step
forward and grabs Santa Claus'sother arm to help pull him up.

Speaker 5 (36:18):
Oh, yeah, thank you.
Good, kale.
I knew I could depend on youAlways on the fence, but you're
such a good boy.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
Sorry about that.
So Valen's face is kind ofshining because she realizes
that this is what she is herefor, is righting these wrongs
and giving the gift of justice.
That is the gift that sheprovides, so she will help Santa

(36:47):
up with.

Speaker 5 (36:49):
I knew I could count on you.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
Alright.
So yeah, kale is going to.
Once Santa's up, he's going torelease his arm and then he's
going to.
I'm assuming we have chairs andtables in this room somewhere
that haven't been destroyed.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
There's a couple.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Okay, good, yeah, he's going to go over and grab a
chair and place it near old StNick.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
Okay, you're still riding high on that, matt.
You notice, like you know, inthe kind of general shape of
this room it's pretty long, it'slonger than it is wide.
There's a big fireplace, santa, and to your viewpoint, santa is
kind of in front of thatfireplace.
That you know.
It was right.
There's fire everywhere here.

(37:34):
It's pretty bright in herewhere that fireplace.

Speaker 8 (37:38):
It seems to be spreading from that fire friends
, we are not alone at this timefrom that fire.

Speaker 5 (37:43):
Friends we are not alone at this time.
You never know what you have insight.

Speaker 8 (37:51):
There's a darkness spreading from our fireplace.
Oh what.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
And as you say that he goes, oh, A multitude of
black hair wrap around variousfacets of Santa Claus's robes
and begin to tear him.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
So the dark hands are pulling Santa away from us.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
Away from you.

Speaker 3 (38:16):
So Valen will kind of grab towards the front of his
shirt to hold him his vest orwhatever coat you put hands on
um, you can hear the fabric, theuh, the threads, and it's
starting to strain and snap incertain place.

Speaker 4 (38:34):
Pull against, is it what, uh?
Is there anything else youwanted to do?
I think I sorry if I cut youoff no, no, that would be it.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
Just hold it, grabbing a hold of the the chest
to try to hold him in place.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
What else Is anybody else doing anything?

Speaker 7 (38:47):
Fiznak would probably grab onto the pant leg or
something like that and maybefire off a starry wisp at some
of the hands to try to shoot himoff.

Speaker 4 (38:55):
You start popping off and the second you eliminate a
shadowy hand with the purity ofyour love for Santa Claus.
Two more take its place as moreof them begin to envelop Santa
Claus, pulling him back intolast things anybody wants to.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
Yep, kale, seeing this, is going to drop his bow,
he's going to dash in and he'sgoing to start using flurry of
blows to keep those tentaclesaway from Santa Claus.

Speaker 4 (39:22):
Punch, punch, punch, punch, punch, punch, punch.
You're trying, you're trying,you're trying.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
Doing my best guys.

Speaker 4 (39:31):
You're fighting, you're slapping back these hands
as they try to reach for SantaClaus.
You start punching and then oneof your fists, one of those
attacks, one of those punches,it doesn't return to you firmly
by one of these shadow hands.
Their hand sprouts out of theside of that hand just to crawl

(39:51):
up your as more of these handsstart to reach.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
Well, shit Huh Um.

Speaker 4 (39:58):
And in fact, as you all look about the room, this
room has become quite dark.
All of these hands out of theshadow you find like you try to
take a step forward.
Around your powerful legs, youfind many hands dragging you.

Speaker 8 (40:14):
I think Reuven is going to just kind of wildly
slash at these hands, not reallysure how to do it, but just
kind of every time he feels the,the fingers or the palm of it,
he's going to slice down with ascimitar to try and free himself
.
Uh, understanding that it'sjust kind of a losing battle at
this point yeah, it is.

Speaker 4 (40:34):
Uh, it feels good in the moment.
It feels like you're doingsomething.
But you realize instant you allbasically get covered and
grappled by these hands and areslowly dragged into the
fireplace, as all of you hear, you're mine now Santa Claus, no
more escaping you naughty,naughty boy.

(40:58):
You feel the last vestiges oflight in your vision eke out.
You feel it for very long.
Great, great speeds, dramaticshifts and direction, ping a
pinprick of those of you holdingon to santa, feel him ripped in
a violent fashion like he um,and you are left spinning
towards this pinprick of lightthat is slower.

(41:20):
You find yourself falling andit's it's not just a pinprick of
light, it's ground that you'reapproaching White ground,
snow-covered ground.
You can see from this height.
It's a little different thanwhat you'd expect.
You see a lot of things movingat the base.
You see what looks to be small, little red figures fighting all
of these gray man.

(41:41):
And then it hits you.
You are free-falling now, nolonger in the void, over what
seems to be a massive.
There doesn't seem to beanything to stop you from.
So you have probably a littlewhile to figure out how you're
going to slow yourself down.
Uh, if you all, if you want, you can make a perception check.
If you want, you can try andfigure out what happened to you.

(42:01):
Um, any of those things areavailable options you have
easily, maybe a minute beforeyou hit ground that's 10 rounds.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
It's so much time so much okay, uh, so kale does have
uh winged boots, but he knowsthat if he saves himself, his
companions are still going todie.
Um, so yeah, he's gonna.

Speaker 7 (42:22):
He's gonna look around to see if there's an
alternative solution his neckalso has winged boots and I
assume, uh, you guys would alsoknow this I don't think we're
stopping a centaur so as a bonusaction for a minute, because
I'm assuming we're kind of indim light, uh, reuben can give
himself the ability to fly what.

Speaker 8 (42:42):
What?
Because he's a Twilight cleric.

Speaker 4 (42:46):
I love it.
We can say that this ishappening at night.
So yeah, it is dark, so itwasn't so much like the daytime
that this was happening.
It was just like the moon kindof reflecting off this white
snow.
That was your pinprick of light.
Not so much light at this point, but yeah.
So that is valid.
Three people that can fly.

(43:07):
What about the?

Speaker 2 (43:09):
See you Valen.

Speaker 3 (43:12):
So Valen will just fly, cast, fly, yes.

Speaker 4 (43:18):
I was really banking on.
It would be really funny ifnobody brought Featherfall or
Fly for this level 15 adventureif nobody brought Feather Fall
or Fly.

Speaker 7 (43:25):
for this level 15 adventure, I dropped Feather
Fall right before we started.
I was like, eh, what are theodds?

Speaker 2 (43:37):
Okay, so I'm assuming we all know this about each
other.

Speaker 4 (43:40):
Then yeah, you all know about each other's
abilities Now, as you arefalling, and maybe speed.
I mean you have control of yourflight now so you can even
speed up faster to the towardsthe ground.
Is there anything you'd like todo?
Um, and this could this isreally you could try and explain
, figure out what happened toyou.
You could try and figure outwhat's going down on the ground.
Um, any of?

Speaker 2 (44:00):
those things, uh, so I have two questions for you
before we do that.
I did say that I dropped my bow.
Did I happen to grab it beforeI got pulled through the hands?
Got it?

Speaker 4 (44:10):
you see it flying like spinning around wildly
nearby and so you can fly.
At this point you run out andgrab it okay, uh, yeah, uh.

Speaker 8 (44:18):
Kale is going to start looking down below and see
if he can determine the battlelines all right um so, as he's
doing that, um reuben is goingto assist the team in their
ability to see and cast eyes ofthe night, uh, with up to five
willing creatures.
So, um, every member of theparty now has 300 feet of dark

(44:39):
vision instead of their standard60 feet well did, did you just?

Speaker 3 (44:44):
say you have a dark vision, 120 normally.

Speaker 8 (44:47):
But I do in fact have dark vision I.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
I just put it in the chat because I'm really excited
about it and I don't believemyself when I roll net 20.
So the chat's not looking forme.
Oh no, it was 29 with a net 20.

Speaker 4 (45:06):
So there's a couple.
The battle lines look likevision.
You can tell that the battlelines are what looks to be
masses of us Very colorfullydressed and colorfully equipped
elves, a lot of green hats, green little vests.
They're all with candy canespears and lollipop maces.

(45:27):
You see catapults filled fullof what looks to be like pop
rocks as they're being launchedand fizzling and creating big
explosions against some of thesehuge flesh and abominations.
Another thing you notice youalways.
You may not have really put alot of thought into what Santa's
, but you've seen pictures, especially with Fiznak around.

(45:47):
There's like depictions of it.
You know it's like prettycutesy little homes.
There's probably like a bigmanufacturing center where
they're making all the toys andyou know it's probably a little
cute.
They have a place for thereindeer.
It seems like, even to younon-superpracticed Christmas
person, they shouldn't be likehuge dark black spheres of

(46:11):
obsidian material, kind of likecockeyed, almost like they
semi-phased through.
There was almost like twothings kind of colliding at the
same time in an astral plane, kind of like phased into each
other.
So like half of it is this kindof cutesy little village and
then there's this huge spire anda bunch of like undead pouring

(46:34):
out of it to a certain degree.
It seems like there was someform of like plane shift
Accident or weird purposefullike drop here to bring
everything here.
But the battle lines aresignificant, like the entire
looks like the entirety of thistown is fighting this undead and

(46:55):
it doesn't look like the elvesare going to win this without
any help.

Speaker 2 (47:00):
Okay, so yeah, kale will say out loud I don't
necessarily trust the tools ofYule, but it seems like they're
being pushed by the undead.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
Anybody doing anything else, as you fall.

Speaker 3 (47:15):
Well, vaylin, not being a fan of undead in general
, things that are dead shouldstay dead, and as she's coasting
and flying down, she will belaunching Eldritch Blasts at
them as soon as she gets within120 feet, she starts launching

(47:41):
Eldritch Blasts as with she'llbe holding her ornate sword out
in front of her and pointing it,and the Eldritch Blast are
launching the bolts of forcewith the bolts are kind of like
a purplish, bluish color as theylaunch out of the end of her

(48:01):
sword and she's basically justgoing to be shooting into the
throngs of undead it's just uh,this isn't necessarily an attack
robot maybe effect of just arandom regular d20 you can add
your attack modifier um, butthis is.
We're just going to see what thegeneral effect of this okay
you've got a lot of time goingdown yeah, it's 18 with with the

(48:24):
bonus, so 18, with the bonus.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
Yeah you, uh, it's, it's easy pickings.
This mass is so big that it'sit would be much harder to miss
something than to hit it.
Um, you do notice that evenjust with your meager even
there's your regular shots asyou're coming down here it's
making some effect.
But mass of undead think WorldWar Z to a certain degree these
huge waves of zombies clamberingover each other as they push

(48:50):
into the elven lines.
Does anybody want to doanything before any last minute
things before they actually hitthe ground?

Speaker 8 (48:55):
preparatory things you can do preparatory spells
now, if you want in so twothings that Reuven would be
doing.
So one he would fly over toFisnack and allow Fisnack to
mount him in his saddle of theCavalier.

Speaker 7 (49:14):
Fisnack just settles right in.

Speaker 8 (49:19):
And I do have a 70-foot fly speed because I also
have the horseshoes of speed.
I have a flying centaur that cancover a map uh, and then kind
of like one round before hittinguh, reuben would cast on
himself spiritual gardens, guardians of fifth level, and so
you just see these tiny sleighspulled by reindeer of radiant

(49:40):
light that circle around him.
Uh, and basically he woulddesignate that any elf, anyone
wearing festive colors, anymember of the team even though
some of them are kind of emothey'd be safe within the realm
of the spiritual guardians andthe undead would be adversely
affected to jump onto that.

Speaker 7 (49:59):
Fiznak is going to see him casting his spiritual
guardians and he is going to seehim casting his spiritual
guardians and he is going to Alight show.
That's a great idea.
And he's going to also castspiritual guardians and he's
going to lift his hat and it'sgoing to be a big ornament that
says Macy's Light Show and he'sjust going to crack it open and
just all these lights and stufflike that swirl around him.

Speaker 4 (50:22):
Amazing.
So intermeshing spiritguardians come forth.
You're a little bit almost likea Death Star, approaching all
of these spirit guardians.
You all land on the ground, melee in front of you.
These elves are fighting fortheir lives.
You know that you could be thetipping point.

(50:43):
You can save Santaanta, and asyou hit the ground you hear a
lot of them basically, hey, wehave to go save santa, we have
to get there, we come on, wehave to clear out these undead
let's go get them everybody.
Uh, a lot of like cartoonishlykind of like high-pitched voices
all saying we gotta go um asthey're getting like mowed down

(51:04):
by like a bunch of zombies I'msupposed to save santa so if
this battle is huge and if youwere to actually like do combat,
this would take forever.
But I think this is a greatopportunity for a skill
challenge.
Have y'all ever done perfect?
Those of you that cast spells?
I think we've got two spiritualguardians.
I'm gonna say because you castspiritual guardians as a

(51:25):
preparatory measure, you haveadvantage on your checks going
forward.
If anybody would like to spendmagic as part of this check, you
can gain advantage.
This is going to be a prettydifficult skill challenge.
A DC is going to be 17.
You need five successes beforeyou get three.
So how I run skill challengesit might be different than we

(51:46):
had before.
I'm going to describe a scene.
It can be in really any order.
Whoever wants to go.
We can roll initiative if youwant, but it could just be go if
you want to go, just as longyou don't go twice in a round.
You need 11 before it comesback to you.
You can do the same skill again.
You, uh, you can do the sameskill again, but I'm going to

(52:10):
increase the dc by like foureach time.
So you have to try and pick adifferent skill if you want that
dc, to say at 17, um, and ifyou're willing to sacrifice an
important um character ability, like, not like fully, get rid of
it off your character sheet, but like, say you have action
surge.
You have two of them.
You wanted to get rid of anaction surge I'll give you.
If you fail on that roll, I'lllet you re-roll.

(52:32):
If you want to give up a fifthlevel spell slot, I'll give you.
After you fail, I'll let youre-roll.
But you have to give upsomething.
There's no free re-rolls.
Does anybody want to beginfirst?

Speaker 2 (52:45):
Yeah, so I'm on the ground now.

Speaker 4 (52:48):
Yeah, we'll say that for the sake of argument.
Everybody's on ground now, Okay.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
So, yeah, what I want to do is Kale's going to be
looking around, he's going totry to find, he's going to try
to find the best way, see if hecan see Santa Claus first off,
and then find the best way tosee if he can see Santa Claus
first off and then find the bestway to get to him the shortest
route possible, whether that'smaybe not the shortest, but the
best way to navigate around allthese undead to get to Santa

(53:12):
Claus or at least where hethinks he's being kept.
So I'm yeah.
I don't know if you want us tosay the skills that we're trying
to use, oh, you can use.

Speaker 4 (53:24):
So whatever skill that you can convince me of.
So like it'd be like oh, Ithink this is going to be a
performance check, but like, ifyou can convince me of it, it's
good to go.
So, okay, this, uh, perceptioninvestigation.
What is this?

Speaker 2 (53:36):
what I want to try to do is use survival, using
follow tracks, being able tofind a trail, avoid hazards I I
buy that.
Go for it.
So plus nine that gives me 15.
, 24.

Speaker 4 (53:50):
24.
That's a success.

Speaker 3 (53:53):
Let me so.
Is it the entire group needs tohave five successes, or each of
us need to have five successesbefore three failures the entire
group has to have fivesuccesses.
It's like we're going to behere a while.

Speaker 4 (54:07):
Yeah, I was just trying to do a combat here, but
then it's going to take forever.
Yeah, so I love skillchallenges for this, so it gives
the possibility of a combat.
So you do that.
You clear your mind for asecond.
Let the battle be, let thewaves of of sound, the crashing
of armor, the undead, like mawsscreaming out, gibberish, just

(54:31):
kind of like washed over you,and the silent, like you, let
your, you just let it like your, your mind, silence it.
After patterns, you were lookingfor gaps, maybe a place, maybe
somebody's probably taking sand.
Um, um, pretty pretty far awayfrom you.
Now you can see that there'salmost like a bubble.
In the same way you like, Idon't know if you've ever messed

(54:51):
around with bees, but aroundthe queen there's always like a
bubble of other bees surroundingthem.
It's very similar, but it'smoving quite fast and in the
reverse direction of all the,the waves of zombies from it.
And you do actually see a blackleather hand with the big
mitten kind of wave out of it,and you see the big, bushy white
beard as he's carried alongthis wave of undead, going

(55:18):
directly towards this obsidianspire.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
Okay, can I say anything?
You can do it.
I'm going to say loudly, asloud as I can, this way, what
would I call him?
Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba.
I guess I'm trying to get theelves there too, this way to St
Nick as loud as he can, to tryto get not only my party's

(55:43):
attention but also the elves tokind of muster behind us.

Speaker 4 (55:46):
You, you, you ring out and they almost threw a game
of like telephone.
They're like oh say Nick's overthere, we got to go save, we
got to get Sandy Claus.
Um, they begin to refocus theirefforts.
Instead of a, a, a very spreadthin line, they kind of form
into a triangular formationpiercing through, um, and they
are making headway totally.

(56:08):
The battlefield has shifted alittle bit.
It seems like they have a plannow instead of just like hey, we
need to.
Who would like to go now?

Speaker 3 (56:15):
I'll go, so you kind of stole a little bit of my
thunder, uh, but uh, so, so, sowhat I had planned?
Uh, so valen is a very strongbattle leader, is fluent on the
battlefield, and so she would bemixing it up inside with the,

(56:36):
with the undead themselves, andlooking for weak spots in the,
the elven group, and she wouldbe focusing on trying to get in
there and, through her force ofarms as well as her power of
persuasion, to bolster up thisforce and, playing off of Kael's

(56:59):
guidance of where we need to go, she would be helping form this
into a strong wedge.
Using her powers of persuasionis kind of what my skill, that I
would be doing so we don'tsteal your thunder.

Speaker 4 (57:14):
We can do a little retcon.
They start to try and form up,but it seems like they don't
know quite what to do and youtake a step forward and begin
issuing order so I only got an18.

Speaker 3 (57:27):
So only an 18.
Good enough, it's good enough, but with what was that plus 10?
You think I get more of it yourorders bellow.

Speaker 4 (57:36):
you start mixing up with some of these undead,
giving them some breathing roomso they can organize behind you,
but your orders ring out andsomething about your words
captivates these elves.
They are in desperate need of aleader and your words sound
like they're from a leader.
It doesn't matter if you'refrom a.
You know much taller than themand you don't seem to have much.

(57:57):
They don't sense a lot ofChristmas spirit in you.
They can sense your intent and, yeah, that wedge that was
described previously reallystarts to move through the crowd
.
They are actually prettyeffectively handling the undead
around them, even though theymay be given some space on the
battlefield to the rest of them, but you're that much closer.

(58:19):
That is two zero failures istwo zero failures, uh.

Speaker 8 (58:29):
So reuben um, from kind of his vantage point,
coming down, uh, I feel likewould have the ability to kind
of, you know, look at the frontlines, trying to understand what
the overall strategy is withthese hordes of undead.
Where are the elves winning, where are the elves losing?
Um, and so, as he's going down,he's going going to channel
Divinity and basically I'mthinking from a skill check
perspective, insight, trying tounderstand the purpose of the

(58:52):
movements that are happening onthe battlefield, what the
broader strategy is.
But what he'd be doing would bebasically strafing runs where
he sees that the elves have theupper hand, that the elves have
the upper hand right, thinkingthat he can thin out the?
Um, the undead forces, wherethe elves kind of have the upper
hand and don't let the goodmoney chase the bad money, uh,

(59:12):
and then using his channeldivinity, restoring hit points
to, uh, the elves that he'spassing um, they're really
temporary hit points, uh, and sojust kind of bolstering their
forces, thinning out the undeadand trying to understand what
that broader strategy is for theoverall battle perfect.

Speaker 4 (59:31):
You're going to roll with advantage because you have
spirit guardians, and I'll say, because you're bolstering hit
points, there will be anadditional benefit unseen, so
it's an 18 plus 15 for a 33.
Okay, okay, I thought this wasgoing to be difficult.
I should have been like ah, DC25.

Speaker 2 (59:52):
Yeah, you should increase this, Because most of
my skill checks are plus 9.

Speaker 4 (59:57):
You know what?
This is what I was talkingabout before, with high level
encounters, but no it makessense.

Speaker 3 (01:00:06):
There's only certain classes that have huge skill
advantages, and mine does not.

Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
You just have a plus 10.

Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
Yeah, I have two skills that are plus 10.
All the rest of them are low.

Speaker 8 (01:00:23):
I took skill expert for insight because he's got to
know whether you're naughty ornice, right.

Speaker 4 (01:00:28):
Yeah, as you're doing these strafing runs, between
the strafing runs themselves, asyou're launching magic against
and your spirit guardiansmassive carnage, you're creating
huge pockets in thisbattlefield, giving the elves a
massive advantage.
They now have a lot of momentumbehind them, your kill count is

(01:00:49):
getting it and with youradditional, like temporary hit
points bolstering them, you cantell that they are starting to
get like.
They were okay before, but theyare confident and they are
taking like, while they needed alittle direction before, very
like things are going quite wellin this battle so far nice.

Speaker 7 (01:01:08):
So I am strapped to Ruben's back.
So I am.
I have my spirit guardians up,so I guess I am trying to just
be a menace on the battlefield,to gain as much of the attention
of the zombies as I can so thattheir attention's off the elves
, so they have a a betterfighting chance.

(01:01:30):
I'm not super great atperformance, but I feel like
it's the one that fits best herehey, I'm down for you have
advantage because you havespirit guards.

Speaker 4 (01:01:38):
You're making an impact, regard, um, but yeah,
roll, roll it oh, oh, okay, cool, cool 22.
22.
Like I said, I should be 30.
That is the fourth success.
You are menacing.
Undead are not known for theirattention to detail or their

(01:01:58):
ability to be distracted or justtheir general awareness of the
situations around them, butsomehow the mass of bells,
baubles, tinsel and decorationson you is catching the light in
such a way that it's almost likea beacon to all these undead.
They will actively stop, attacksomething as they look up and

(01:02:20):
just see this goblin shimmeringin the moonlight, creating to
great effect.
It gives a lot of openings tothese elves.
The wedge is making it prettylike you're within spitting
distance of the actual main townitself.
Now they were pushed out of thetown.
They're making their way backin.
Lots of undead around.

(01:02:42):
These huge flesh abominationsare now like trying to swoop
through this giant, this giantwave of undead, trying to get to
y'all.
We are back around.
Only one more success away.
Who would like?
I think was it Kale did itfirst last time, right?

Speaker 8 (01:03:00):
or it was Valen no, it was Kale so my thought is is
we haven't gotten the reindeerinvolved right.

Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
So, brandon, unless you've got one on the top of
your mind, uh, I was gonna tryto do something with a poor roll
, just to see if I can have afailure.

Speaker 4 (01:03:20):
Go for it I'm down with it okay, all right I'll
give you disadvantage on thisrole okay, um, let's.

Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
So what I would like to do is uh, I'm having a hard
time.

Speaker 8 (01:03:40):
Go ahead, andrew, sorry well, I mean, if you got
something in mind, go for it.
I don't want to.
We can workshop it too, oh yeah, you know what?

Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
You know what.
I got it Alright.
So what I would like to do, Iwould like to try to use my
knowledge of Arcana to try torecall any kind of lore of this
tower, this tower that we'restaring at, anything that would
help me, uh, through specialspells or magical items,

(01:04:12):
anything that will give meadvantage on the coming fight as
we're going towards this thing.

Speaker 4 (01:04:14):
Perfect, I, I I'm definitely.
This is definitely a uh, likethis is gonna be a factor coming
up like it is spewing out theseundead like what even is it?
Um, this could be a hugedecider.
If you can kind of figure outwhat's going on just at a base
level, it'd be very importantall right, here we go plus zero

(01:04:36):
eight hey um, we got a failure Igot you, you're in my clutches
now, um, perfect, um, you'retrying, you're, you're.
There's so many things thiscould be not even talking about
just on this plane of existence, the material plane.

(01:04:58):
But, like stints, the ninehells, like a lot of things deal
with undead, a lot of thingsare evil.
They come from oh, you're notentirely sure.
You do like there is like somesemblance of remembrance there,
like you've heard a story butyou can't remember any details.
And as you're pondering them,um, just like you've, you've,

(01:05:20):
just you've rallied them to acertain degree, creating pockets
of ability.
You're trying to get thesecreating pockets a bit.
You know, you're trying to getthese elves going.
You notice, like, as you'repondering this, you get
distracted.
You're not like sending outorders, you're not fighting as
well as you could, and you seesome of the elves actually
starting to like get pushed backnow, and the reason they're
getting pushed back is this waveof undead is being this giant,

(01:05:42):
um, not like it's literally justa huge mountain of flesh held
together like metal ribbons, uh,covered in like razor wire, as
it kind of just pushes throughthe crowd, kind of causing part
of this phalanx of elves to kindof live on itself.

Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
It's still fine, the formation is holding okay, yeah,
uh, kale will say say loudlythe tower, that's where they're
coming from.
That's all I got for you guys.
He's not a very smart man.

Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
Hey, do what you can.
Who would like to go next forsuccesses?

Speaker 8 (01:06:18):
So my idea is what's the most effective unit you have
against the infantry?
That's Mounted Cavalry, right.
So we're going to get thereindeer involved in this.
What's the most effective unityou have against the infantry?
That's mounted cavalry, right.
So we're gonna get the reindeerinvolved in this.
We're gonna, uh, boot them up,get them onto the flank, uh,
have them drive down the forcesof evil from the, from the side,
maybe break their morale notthat they really have morale to

(01:06:38):
break, because they're mindlessthralls.
But um reuben will, will goover to the stables and say
Follow me, brothers and sisters.
The Red God needs us in thistime of peril.
We must crush down the forcesof undeath and restore the
Niceless to its rightful placeand hope that they speak common.

(01:06:59):
All right, what kind of role?
I was thinking?
Animal handling.
Hey, perfect.
Yeah, or it could be more funnyif we went with persuasion.

Speaker 4 (01:07:11):
Up to you.
It's up to you.

Speaker 7 (01:07:13):
Am I able to give him guidance while I'm strapped to
his back?

Speaker 4 (01:07:19):
I think you already have advantage because I've
already got advantage.
You're pretty.
I think you're solid.
I'll go with the animalhandling.
I think I clicked already gotadvantage.
You're pretty.

Speaker 8 (01:07:25):
I think you're solid.
I'll go with the animalhandling.
I think I clicked the right one.
It didn't matter, it was a 5plus 10 for 15.

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
Two failures.

Speaker 4 (01:07:35):
Two failures.
We're actually getting somerest here.

Speaker 8 (01:07:39):
I'm supposed to be good at that too.
I'm half horse.

Speaker 4 (01:07:43):
You gallop in the air because that's kind of I guess
how you're flying is likegalloping on the uh.
As you're flying to the barns, you kind of make this grandiose
speech like kill your arms, letus save the red god.
And then you see these kind oflike lilting shapes inside the
barn, covered in shadow.

(01:08:05):
You see a bunch of ghouls, basically like already hunched
over the reindeer in here, kindof like look up at you, faces
covered in blood, super longtongue licking their lips, as
they continue to feast on theirmeal.
Shit, well, shit, they've gotto.
Nobody let them out of the pen.

(01:08:25):
Oh man, you don't see any rednoses and you don't see any of
the fancy saddles.
Hopefully Santa's reindeer areunscathed.
General Barn seems to be a roughplace in this moment and upon
seeing this and hearing this, you can tell that there is a
morale shift in the elves.

(01:08:47):
They are like maybe not excitedbefore driven, but now they're
like the losses are mounting.
This is very real.
They may not survive One moreon either side.
Four successes and failures.
I got this.

Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
I got this.
I got this, all right, glenn.

Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
So Valen will see the morale start to shift and see
where some of the areas arestarting to weaken, and she will
use her skills to awe andintimidate her compatriots into

(01:09:30):
putting everything they've gotinto it.

Speaker 4 (01:09:33):
so she will use intimidation hooker by crook,
we're winning this fight.
So 18 again hey, that's all youneed, though.
Um, this is a very dramaticmoment.
You can see that the hey, that's all you need, though.
Yeah, this is a very dramaticmoment.
You can see the real terror inthese elves' eyes as their

(01:09:54):
steeds have been taken from them, these huge flesh abominations
here encroaching on their lines.
There's that moment whereeverything kind of slows down.
You can see Tert startbellowing commands, telling them
things they need to do, poppingoff Eldritch Blasts, and you
can see you're almost shiningwith Eldritch energy.

(01:10:18):
In this moment, you've become abeacon to these troops, and
while they might not and itwould be maybe nicer if you're
using more polite words, but youknow, if you can't get them, if
you can't raise their spirits,um, by saying nice things, you
can definitely drive them tovictory by intimidating them.
Scaring being scarier than the,the zombie hordes is, is a hard

(01:10:42):
feat, but you manage toaccomplish it and they surge
forward, and around this timeyou see a big sleigh coming up
over the side.
You see a handful of elvesdriving and having their reins.
You can see a reindeer with abright red nose at the center,
and they start dropping these, and then those packages open up.

(01:11:06):
There's's a bunch of littlewhat looks like to be
gobstoppers, little gumballs, and as they hit the ground they
start exploding out, making hugecavities in in this undead
battle.
He seems like the combinationof you know, just get, buying
them time for them to prep thisaction and also getting them
prepare the battlefield.

(01:11:26):
It went from a stalemate slash, the elves losing to the elves
having the upper hand and youall kind of soak.
In this moment it seems likeyou're about to get to the black
tower and then, from behind alollipop like house, you see, or
at least you think, a man.
It's kind of a.
It could be just a person, could be a woman in armor, but
you see, this armor clad figuregot a big plume, uh, purple

(01:11:50):
plume, um cinders for eyesbehind the helm.
I'm raising up.

Speaker 5 (01:11:57):
I cannot have you interfering with my master's
plan I will not do.

Speaker 4 (01:12:03):
And as like, in the middle of him saying that a wave
of elves overcomes him andstarts stabbing in all the eye
holes getting in the underarm?
Oh no, no, as he's like theirown wave.
If y'all were in a law show I'dhave had to fight a death
knight, but because you won, they manage to basically just

(01:12:27):
wave tactics, taking a couplepoints at a time, basically
destroy this death knightimmediately and you have a
relatively clear passage intothe village.
I did say there was going to bea little extra bonus.
The death knight dropped thesword that they were using.
It does not look like it isfull of cheer, but it looks like

(01:12:47):
it's a pretty effective weaponanybody use swords so Vaylin
uses one handed sword, like yourdescription of her.

Speaker 3 (01:12:57):
Using the eldritch flash is part of how she fights,
but she also uses her sword asa sword.
So, but she can use atwo-headed sword, but will not.
It's ineffective for her.

Speaker 4 (01:13:11):
She uses a one-handed sword, so no, I'll say, if you
want, if you were curious aboutit, you get as you approach it.
It does shrink down to that.
Uh, I don't have to get it, butit's available?

Speaker 3 (01:13:27):
She probably wouldn't .
She's been using the swords ofPerun, for that is her best item
that she carries is her sword.
No, no, it's totally cool.

Speaker 2 (01:13:38):
Well, seeing Valen turn away, Kale would go over
and pick it up.
It looks cool and it reallyadds to his emo attire it is
pretty cool.

Speaker 4 (01:13:48):
Uh, it's a, so we'll say it's a long sword and it
will just use the death knightstats.
It does.
Uh, depending on how you use it, it's either a 1d8 or 1d10, but
you get an additional 4d8necrotic damage.
Um, this thing is vicious andyou're not.
It's not like but it is alittle loud.
It's gnarly.

(01:14:08):
It's almost like one of thoseUruk-hai, like bricky, like,
with a big spine on the back tocatch a shield.
Like it's big, it looks like itwas melted down and reformed
and it looks cruel and ancientin all the right ways.

Speaker 2 (01:14:27):
Okay, yeah, kale, you , you know he doesn't have long
sword.
I mean, he's got his bow andhe's.
He's a ranger monk, right so.
But you see him quicklyfastened, like using the leather
on his, on his person, uh, forma crude like sheath so he can
strap it to his back, uh, andyeah, he, he lashes to his back
so he can still pull his bow outif he needs to.

Speaker 5 (01:14:46):
We will take many you and I new master.

Speaker 2 (01:14:52):
Kael starts turning around in circles trying to find
the voice.

Speaker 5 (01:14:56):
Yes, we'll take up a reconnaissance position and
whenever they come, we will takethem.

Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
Finally realizing it's a sword.
He says the undead, thoughright Like, not like my friends.

Speaker 5 (01:15:13):
Could be your friends , if you want.
No, I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
No, I like my friends , I would like to keep them
around.

Speaker 5 (01:15:18):
Don't eat a box ourselves in no, no, no, no,
Just the big guys.
Anybody can be a victim master.

Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
I feel like you don't understand what the word master
means.
I said not the friends.

Speaker 4 (01:15:30):
Well, you hear it's like a whisper For now, 10-4.
For now.
I get what you're saying Wink, wink Can't let people get
suspicious.

Speaker 2 (01:15:41):
The rest of the party just sees Kale talking to
himself and he finally justthrows up his hands and starts
walking back to everybody elseall right.

Speaker 4 (01:15:48):
So y'all have reached you.
Before this you were kind ofoutside the village.
Now you are in the metropolis, santa claus proper.
There is a ton of little houses, little manufactoriums, uh,
there is like connected to the.
You're pretty close to it nowso you can kind of see how it's
phased in.
So this giant is phased intolike probably what seems to be

(01:16:11):
the biggest building at thecenter of Santa Claus's village,
which you can only assume fromall like the steam pipes and the
big giant mechanical bellowsthat are still going up and down
and the huge gouts of blacksmoke coming out of some of
these stacks is probably themain manufacturing of gift
operation.
There is some undead aroundhere, but they're kind of being

(01:16:34):
they're a little scattered,caught in homes and they're
being dealt with with.
Some of the elves there doesseem to be.
Well, actually, if people wantto make survival checks,
perception checks, maybe if theyget a clue as to where you know
Santa Claus was heading thisway.
He definitely beat you here.
You're not entirely sure wherehe may have.

Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
Yeah, I'll roll a survival.

Speaker 3 (01:16:57):
Oh, I Valen rolled a perception of 16.

Speaker 4 (01:17:01):
Okay, if you want to roll any checks for really
anything at all, just let meknow 13 perception, 3 plus 10.

Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
3 plus 10.
16 plus 9 for 25.

Speaker 4 (01:17:13):
With a 25, you're going to find, you do see, and
it's less tracks, because it'swild with tracks right now, so
many footprints.
But you do see what looks to besome red thread heading to the
east, um, and there does seem asyou, kind of like head off in
that direction.
You know some white fuzz here,a little piece of black leather

(01:17:34):
from the belt there it's almostlike santa claus is trying to
create a little bit of a trailfor anybody that can find him.
You do come to what.
What kind like.
It's closed, but it does looklike a gate.
Now a lot of these undead arejust like actively pouring out
of these, this porous holes thatare all you could try to get in
through.
There might be a littletroublesome, um, but you do find

(01:17:56):
what looks to be a door, butit's a little weird.
Um, it it seems to be made ofadamantine steel, like this
obsidian around it is dark, menacing metal.
There is some statues juttingout from the side.
You see one that is completelynot Roland.

(01:18:17):
It's the only one that has anykind of semblance of personage
on it.
It looks to be like a man, nota very strong looking man, but a
real man.
The left hand gone and the leftside of the face gone.
And then as you kind of peer atthe door you see kind of an
imprint with a hole and then yousee what looks to be a place
where a left arm kind of seelike the almost like a stylized

(01:18:39):
version of like the side of aperson's body, but no obvious
other signs.
You have to maybe check it outa little bit.
They might be pickable, theremight be some brick to get
inside, but you're not 100% sureso is this in the dark?

Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
You said that it was kind of diagonally cut across
the top.
Is this on the dark side or theSanta's side?
This is Santa's side, you mustsacrifice for Santa.

Speaker 4 (01:19:06):
No, uh, no.
This is on the obsidian spireside, okay, where the entrance
would like.
Looking at it, you see a bunchof signs being oh, entrance to
the manufactorum.
I keep on.
I've been watching a lot of 40kstuff.
I keep on saying manufactorumTo the factory, um, um.

Speaker 3 (01:19:24):
It seems that the obsidian spire, at least a
portion of it, is like eruptingfrom, like the front half of
this okay, okay, so, oh, sorry,go ahead bill I was just gonna
say uh, since uh valen wasrescued by uh santa as well, and
in her past, and could she likeremember, is there any other

(01:19:46):
ways to getting through thevillage to get to there?

Speaker 4 (01:19:50):
so you were actually following like a trail of
breadcrumbs from Santa Claus soyou're within like eye line of
it.
Now you could very easily walkto this place.

Speaker 3 (01:19:58):
There is some like meandering undead, but y'all are
very high level, no trouble atall no, I was just wondering if
there's a a way around throughthe original santa's village to
get past this gate, because shedoesn't have any way to get past
the gate.

Speaker 4 (01:20:13):
So you could probably assume that there's other
entrances, but, like as you'relooking around, like the undead
are still pouring out of thespire, it would be much harder.
This is this.
Place is relatively clear rightnow and the elves are holding
them at bay.
You could still try and attemptto go into those places.
Might be some more fightingthat way.

Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
Alright, kael, seeing all this, he's going to relay
the information, but while he'srelaying the information about
needing a left arm, a statuemissing a left arm left side of
his face burnt off and it lookslike an uh, like an insert for a
left arm he's gonna startlooking on the ground for any
kind of uh, undead left armsthat have been lopped off.
And if he doesn't, see any.

Speaker 4 (01:20:51):
He's gonna.

Speaker 2 (01:20:53):
So many, so many body parts are around here, so much
so still wanting to use his newsword and uh, now he has
something that talks to himfinally, master, you're going to
use me.
He's going to pull up thelongsword and find the closest
undead and lop off the left arm.

Speaker 4 (01:21:11):
Easy.

Speaker 5 (01:21:14):
We're going to finish it right, master.

Speaker 2 (01:21:19):
Kale just shrugs, lops off the head of the undead
and then sheathes the sword.

Speaker 5 (01:21:26):
Good, good, good, I thought it was going to get
blue-sworded for a little bit.
A perfect master, a perfectmaster.
You're so good at this, master.

Speaker 2 (01:21:36):
Yeah, again, just make sure undead.
Only we talked about this.

Speaker 4 (01:21:41):
Yes, they'll all be dead when we're through master.

Speaker 2 (01:21:45):
I feel like we really need to work on our
communications right, thisrelationship.
We need to have a two-waycommunication.

Speaker 4 (01:21:54):
We're still figuring each other out.
It's fine.
There's obviously a powerdynamic that could be troubling
in the future, but we'll handleit in time.

Speaker 2 (01:22:02):
Yeah, so he's going to sheathe his sword and then
pick up the left arm and startwalking pretty confidently
towards the statue.

Speaker 4 (01:22:09):
All right, yeah, so yeah, the statue is there.
What do you do when you get tothis?

Speaker 2 (01:22:15):
So there's an actual insert for a left arm, correct?

Speaker 4 (01:22:18):
Yeah, yeah.
So there's a statue with what'slike missing a left arm, but
then there's the door itselfthat looks like there's a bit of
a stylized imprint of a facewith a the hole where probably
the left eye would be, and thenthere's like a stylized like
torso.
Where the art where the leftarm oh, okay, uh, I'll say you
can even have like the head thatyou just know.
If you don't, if you're gonnasure for it yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:22:39):
So kale is trying to use both of his hands to try to
meander these both in the samedirection.
Not being able to do it, he'sgoing to kind of wave over
Fisnak and ask him to push theleft arm into the hole.
Can you just like insert thearm into the hole?

Speaker 3 (01:23:00):
for me, vaylin, you of see all this going on and she
will look around and see ifthere's another body of an
undead and just pick up thewhole body.
Just reach down and grab andpick up the whole body and carry
it over.
Can't we just insert it as one?
Why do you have to have twopieces?

Speaker 5 (01:23:22):
Kill him now or kill her now.
That's the question.

Speaker 4 (01:23:25):
Our amazing plan that we worked on for so long.

Speaker 2 (01:23:30):
Kale's staring at Vale and you see him start
subconsciously reaching towardshis sword.
And then he sees his hand andkind of grabs it and pushes it
down no, that's a great idea, weshould try that and he kind of
throws the left arm over hisshoulder.

Speaker 4 (01:23:47):
All right.
So I'm assuming you kind oflike press the zombie arm and
body to this?
Yeah, just shove it in the hole.
You've guessed my trap.
A spike kind of like ripsthrough where the eye would be
and you hear a grinding soundbehind the door as it kind of
mac rips through where the eyewould be and you hear a grinding
sound, uh, behind the door asit kind of macerates the hand.

(01:24:09):
But the zombie, uh, when itpops out, you do see that as
like a really cool, likecrystalline eye in place on the
left side and its hand has beenreplaced by like an ephemeral,
like almost like made of energyor magic.

Speaker 2 (01:24:24):
Oh, gail's going to look down and just go damn.

Speaker 4 (01:24:29):
You can still put yourself in there the doors
begin to move forward.
You can if you want?

Speaker 2 (01:24:34):
Yeah, Kale's going to try to rush forward as fast as
he can and push his left arm inand push his face against it.

Speaker 4 (01:24:41):
Alright, so you're going to.

Speaker 2 (01:24:44):
As the door is moving he's like walking with the door
.

Speaker 8 (01:24:48):
So, uh, ruben is gonna try and grab you and slow
you in this process, and just myfriend.
My friend, this is not a giftthat you want.

Speaker 4 (01:24:58):
There's some obvious.
Are you gonna do it or are yougonna let yourself be stopped?
No, at the first touch, he'sgoing to do it, or are you going
to let yourself be stopped?

Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
No, At the first touch he's going to use Blessed
of the Raven Queen and justteleport himself away from the
grab of Reuven to be able topush his arm and eye against the
thing Inside, like your arm inthe door, You're going to take
some damage.

Speaker 4 (01:25:24):
It's 10d10.

Speaker 2 (01:25:25):
Okay let's do it.

Speaker 4 (01:25:28):
Let's see here.

Speaker 2 (01:25:31):
I have 147 hit points .
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (01:25:33):
You take 147 damage, as your hand is macerated and
eaten by the door.
It's replaced by an ephemeralmagical substitute.
Your eye also is replaced withI think it's called an ersatz
eye in the game book.
It's basically an artificialeye you can still see.

(01:25:55):
None of this affects you in anyway.
You feel a dark presence andyou're not sure if it's your
sword on your back or you'veintroduced a whole other level
of that as something else butyou hear the sword?

Speaker 5 (01:26:09):
Yes, that's pretty cool, master, you look cool.
Your friend should also do this.
Your friends could also look alot cooler.

Speaker 4 (01:26:20):
It kind of like you can almost feel like air, being
like your friends.

Speaker 2 (01:26:28):
Yeah, so he's going to be holding his hand against
his left eye, but he's going tostand up, try to act real tough,
even though he just took a crapton of damage.
Turn to his friends and he'sgoing to go.
Does it kind of complete thelook and as he does that, he's
going to brush his raven blackhair over one eye, just so it
kind of drapes over it.

Speaker 3 (01:26:49):
Nice.
So Valen has a very dark senseof humor and kind of quirks the
corner of her mouth up.
Yep looks good.

Speaker 2 (01:27:01):
Weird Bill.
One of your characters has adark sense of humor.
It's like you always playyourself.

Speaker 3 (01:27:10):
I rolled it up and Valen got a dark sense of humor.

Speaker 2 (01:27:14):
Glenn is.
Bill Loaded dice yes.

Speaker 3 (01:27:20):
It was a one-sided die.

Speaker 6 (01:27:25):
I don't think it looks great.
It looks great.
Can you still use your hand?

Speaker 2 (01:27:34):
Yeah, kale's going to flex his hand a little bit and
if Fiznak's saying it looksgreat, he's going to pick him up
because he thinks he's going tohelp.
And he's going to try to pickhim up and try to walk him to
the door to help him kind of getinto place.

Speaker 6 (01:27:46):
No, no, no, I don't think Fiznak's, I don't think
I'll reach across both things atthe same time.
I thought you wanted.

Speaker 2 (01:27:57):
Okay, I'm sorry he's going to put Fiznak back down on
the ground.

Speaker 6 (01:28:02):
I think it looks good on you and I don't think it'll
look good on Fiznak.
That was cool.

Speaker 7 (01:28:12):
And then I'm gonna put one of my little ornaments
on his swords, like sheath.

Speaker 5 (01:28:20):
I look good, don't I Master?

Speaker 2 (01:28:24):
You look pretty shiny .
Yeah, it really completes thelook.

Speaker 4 (01:28:29):
Perfect, yes, more unsuspecting than Mork.
Potential for catching themunaware.
We must blend in.

Speaker 2 (01:28:37):
I get it, because blending and handling, those are
sword puns.
Ha.

Speaker 4 (01:28:44):
Ha, ha, ha ha.
I'm assuming y'all would liketo enter in.

Speaker 8 (01:28:51):
I'd like to look through the door first to see if
we're in I mean we have someonejust blindly doing things.

Speaker 3 (01:29:02):
So go ahead.
I was just going to say Velawill also use her divine sense
to detect any good or evilinside so much evil.
So, what is it?

Speaker 4 (01:29:16):
What is?
What?
Is that a character, ability,or is that the spell, or?

Speaker 3 (01:29:21):
it's a paladin, it's the paladin divine sense.

Speaker 4 (01:29:23):
So what's the?

Speaker 3 (01:29:24):
range on.

Speaker 4 (01:29:25):
It is 60 feet, 60 feet for the next 60 feet.
This place is.
You know you get a lot ofsensations from this, you know.
Sometimes it's a smell,sometimes it's a sound,
sometimes it's like an aura.
It's none of sensations fromthis.
Sometimes it's a smell,sometimes it's a sound,
sometimes it's like an aura.
It's none of it's good, it'sall here.
It smells bad, it sounds bad.
This place is reeks of evil andas you look inside the door,

(01:29:51):
whatever teleportation planeshift, whatever magic transposed
this here, while extremelypowerful, did not seem to have
any real care or intention forthose inside of it.
So much like was it like thePhiladelphia experiment, where
there's like people like, allegedly like phased into the
metal.
There's like a bunch of undeadzombies that are like half out,

(01:30:15):
half in, still alive.
I see a small number of elvessuffering a similar fate, but
very much not alive anymore.
But this place has the look ofalmost like it's very gothic in
its architecture.
You're in this very longhallway and the weirdest thing
all about this, about all thesensory experiences you're

(01:30:37):
getting, is that a little bitdistant, like maybe less than
100 feet away, you can hear verycheery, very high tempo
Christmas music being played.
There is a visual and auditorydichotomy here that is jarring,
to say the least.

Speaker 3 (01:30:57):
So um Valen will uh, quickly look over at um, at, at
Reuven, as as I see, as she seesReuven looking in and trying to
inspect, and we'll point outthe different where the undead
are it cause she couldspecifically sense them and that
there is a crap ton of evil inthis area.

(01:31:22):
So what can you see?

Speaker 8 (01:31:27):
Let's see Be like an 18 on a perception, much as I
described the phasing magic ofthis, the plane shift or
teleportation.

Speaker 4 (01:31:38):
It's also led to some goof happenstances, like you
see some zombies shamblingaround with like jack in the
boxes for any kind of like eruptout at strange intervals, um
with an 18, though you you catchon the music as well and it's,
and as you kind of like lookaround a corner, this kind of
just obliquely, this gothicarchitecture just basically
obliquely ends and is formed bythis kind of just obliquely.
This gothic architecture justbasically obliquely ends and is

(01:31:59):
formed by this kind of um almostcabin-esque architecture of
inside this factory, even thoughit's very big, it's got, it's
very bright and cheery and youcan hear the music and actually,
when you kind of move around, you see a couple elves just kind
of like poke their head out, kind of like look up and lock
eyes with you to make sure whoyou are and immediately duck

(01:32:19):
back down behind like a big pileof presents.

Speaker 8 (01:32:22):
It appears that the transformation is not done yet.
Perhaps we make haste to thesource of the music and see if
we can stop this Sounds like aplan to me.

Speaker 3 (01:32:36):
So Velen will agree and start walking forward with
her sword and shield prepared, ready to go, being very wary of
anything.

Speaker 2 (01:32:49):
So just a just a question for my character who is
the tank in our party?
I know I'm part monk, oh, valen, okay, so uh, and are these
quarters kind of tight, likeshort corridors as they're as
we're going through these?

Speaker 4 (01:33:08):
so the you're still in kind of the spire section.
It's big, lofty, um, lots ofroom in here, but like it
basically like obliquely cutsinto a space made for much
shorter individuals like maxsanta height, uh, and it's a lot
more compact.
There's and you can actuallysee like lines of toys being
come.

Speaker 3 (01:33:28):
So sorry, I I instantly said that that valen
is the tank.
I don't.
I mean, that's my assumption.
She's walking around in MithrilPlate with a sword and shield
and doesn't have as many hitpoints as you do but close and
an AC of 22.
So I'm pretty sure she's thetank.

Speaker 2 (01:33:48):
I mean, my rare item was the Amulet of Health.

Speaker 4 (01:33:50):
so Everybody's a tank .

Speaker 7 (01:33:54):
It's clearly Fiznak with my 14 armor class.
Hell yeah the tank.

Speaker 4 (01:33:58):
The tank is more of a state of mind than it is
anything else.
It's clearly Fiznak with my 14armor class.
Hell yeah, the tank.
The tank is more of a state ofmind than it is anything else.

Speaker 8 (01:34:04):
I already know what I am.

Speaker 3 (01:34:07):
I'm the mount.
Yeah, vaylin is kind of likethe face in the tank, so that's
her role and can do some seriousdamage single point damage,
damage and double point damagebut other than that she's pretty
much soaker.

Speaker 8 (01:34:23):
I'm the mascot do we recognize what Christmas song is
playing?

Speaker 4 (01:34:30):
what is that?

Speaker 3 (01:34:32):
can you hum a little bit of it?

Speaker 2 (01:34:34):
this is Halloween.
This is Halloween.

Speaker 5 (01:34:36):
This is you, oh no, oh, I think I know who's on the.
This is.

Speaker 2 (01:34:38):
Halloween.
This is Halloween.
This is you, oh no.

Speaker 8 (01:34:42):
Oh, I think I know who's on the naughty list
Bringing out Mariah.

Speaker 4 (01:34:46):
Yeah, mariah, I was like it has to be Mariah Carey.
And that's weird too, becauseMariah Carey doesn't exist in
this timeline.

Speaker 5 (01:34:54):
What is this?

Speaker 7 (01:34:56):
foul music, but it is exactly that.
Before the party gets too farahead, Fiznak's going to be
before we go any further.
Just in case there's any morecraziness in there, take these
and I'm going to clip ornamentsonto each of them and cast Aid
at 8th level, so it increasesall three of yours maximum
health points by 35.

Speaker 4 (01:35:18):
Holy crap.
A substantial amount of arclike magical vigor enters your
body.
You feel much better.
It's like temporary hit points,right?
Is that aid?

Speaker 7 (01:35:32):
Yeah, so it's temporary hit points that you
can actually heal back for 24hours.

Speaker 8 (01:35:37):
Yeah, so it increases the maximum and our current hit
points by that much Okay yeah, you feel much healthier than you
did feel like you can kind oftake on anything in this.

Speaker 2 (01:35:48):
Yeah, so at that at Fiznak's aid, Kael's going to
look at his ethereal arm andtouch his eyes and say, totally
worth it.

Speaker 5 (01:36:00):
Yes, master, it's all totally worth it.
We should go kill those elves.

Speaker 2 (01:36:07):
Not the elves.
We talked about this.
Just the undead for now.
Maybe Santa Claus later.

Speaker 5 (01:36:12):
Make them undead first, and then we will kill
them, master.
Okay, we'll talk about this.

Speaker 2 (01:36:20):
We will talk about this After we rescue him.
Maybe we'll kill the JollyJailer.
We'll figure it out.

Speaker 4 (01:36:27):
We'll figure it out.
Yes, wink, wink, I have to saywink, wink.

Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
I have some googly eyes, I can put them on the
blade.

Speaker 4 (01:36:35):
I won't say no.

Speaker 5 (01:36:40):
Kind of a good plan uh what is y'all's next move?

Speaker 4 (01:36:45):
it seems like the factory.
So you're still kind of in likethe gothic creepy obsidian
tower part, but it does seemlike the factory floor is, uh,
straight ahead yeah, so I thinkwe're headed towards the factory
floor.

Speaker 8 (01:36:56):
Reuven would bend down to offer Fiznik a ride if
he were so inclined, and thenalso cast on himself his
Twilight Blessing ability togive himself advantage on any
initiative checks that he has inthe next period of time.

Speaker 3 (01:37:13):
So how long, would you say, we've been here doing
this, like from the time weentered in our falling state to
now?

Speaker 4 (01:37:24):
Mostly less than an hour.
This has been pretty quick.
Okay, all things being said anddone, do you have a time in
mind or a thing that you'retrying to do?

Speaker 3 (01:37:34):
No, if we were still within the first 10 minutes, but
no, we're not.

Speaker 8 (01:37:40):
So that was I was going to be silly Because his
fly spell is no longer active.

Speaker 3 (01:37:46):
Yes, my fly spell is out.
I'm not going to hover BecauseI don't want to burn another
spell slot.

Speaker 7 (01:37:54):
His neck would jump up onto Reuben Just like.

Speaker 4 (01:38:01):
All right, so as you actually exit this obsidian,
this creaking place Actually, everybody make history check.

Speaker 2 (01:38:08):
I'm so good at this.
I am good at this.
How good at history 19.

Speaker 7 (01:38:12):
I'm not 19.
Oh, I also got a 19.

Speaker 2 (01:38:16):
I got a 3.
Got a 13.

Speaker 4 (01:38:19):
19.
19.
19 you don't Like in the backof your head for those of you
that got 19,.
There is a like wrinkles bit,but it's unconnected to a person
or really a place, thing calledan interesting obsidian spire
that has been known with massesof undead ruled by.

(01:38:41):
But it's like, it's not evenalmost like you don't remember,
it's just like there's a wholeso the Citadel of.
Cavidius.

Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
Cavidius.

Speaker 4 (01:38:51):
Cavidius.

Speaker 6 (01:38:53):
I can't remember if it's a dark temple or a paint
company, definitely a paintcompany.

Speaker 3 (01:39:04):
So Valen, as she's walking along, will say that
this citadel, it reminds me ofsomething.
There's a citadel calledHavidius and it's strange.
I know that, I know who runsthe citadel, but there's

(01:39:29):
something missing.
It's gone and I don't know why.
And she will continue walkingforward.

Speaker 4 (01:39:37):
You enter into the factory proper, again, some
elven eyes, like from inside.
They're actually kind of likeinside, inside the gift boxes
you see some eyes pop up Likeare you cool?
Are you cool?
Yeah, you don't shamble, sothat's a good sign.
You don't shamble, so that's agood sign.

Speaker 3 (01:40:02):
So Phelan will say be at ease, we are here to help,
we're saving Santa.

Speaker 4 (01:40:09):
Oh, thank God, we watched Santa get carried to the
auditorium and we were allthinking we should do something.
But then, when it came time todo something, we were like you
know what?
We'll wait.
We'll wait for somebody that'smore responsible than us.
I think we all agreed on that.
Yeah, cool, awesome.

(01:40:31):
We were like hey guys, gals, wewere feeling bad about that
right.

Speaker 7 (01:40:35):
Yeah, we were feeling pretty bad about that.

Speaker 4 (01:40:47):
I have to know uh, ryan, is that your patrick
warburton?
Because it kind of sounded likehim.
Uh, yeah, it did.

Speaker 2 (01:40:50):
Which one?
The uh, the first voice?
Yeah, it sounded kind of likepatrick warburton it goes
between that and uh.
John h benjamin okay, that'spretty good.
I was like I could buy it.
I am.

Speaker 4 (01:41:03):
It depends on how quickly I speak.
We're feeling pretty funny.
He's in the auditorium.
If you could let him know thatwe sent you when you inevitably
save him.
I think we've got quarterlyreviews coming up and I was

(01:41:27):
caught stealing slinkies and I.
That's been, that has been.
That has been on my, that hasbeen on my back for a long time,
so so, um, that has been on myback for a long time.

Speaker 3 (01:41:38):
So, um, so, um, Balin has pretty much after, after
she realized that they're safeair, quoted um, she will pretty
much just move on beyond them.
They're not evil, but they'renot in need, so she will move on
.
Um, oh, okay, oh you didn't getour names out.

Speaker 4 (01:41:58):
Whoa, okay, in need, so she will move on.
Oh well, okay, you didn't getour names.
Oh, whoa, okay.
Also, you know, if it greasesthe skids or whatever like.
If you need, like, theadventurer's toy room, stop the
corner there.
It's got some good stuff inthere.
You know, I don't know how many, I don't assume to know who's
on the naughty list.
It's not my thing, but you know, maybe if you've been on the

(01:42:20):
naughty list and you want to seewhat the nice side of life is
like, it's to your left oh, kaleperks up at this and he follows
the pointing of Mr Warburtonand starts to head over in that
direction oh also, by the way, there's a it's.
It's behind a door.

(01:42:41):
Uh, just remember, justremember.
I always forget the code, but Iremember the little chant that
they do.
Rudolph always leads the way.
Coal and the holiday blues arealways side by side.
Snow is never far behind.
Next to Rudolph is themistletoe.
Too much time underneath, andcoal is sure to follow.

Speaker 2 (01:43:06):
There's absolutely no way I'm going to remember that.

Speaker 4 (01:43:10):
I'm going to take the text and.
Swordbro, did you get that?
To who yes?

Speaker 2 (01:43:17):
Okay, alright, we're good to go.
Guys, we got this.

Speaker 4 (01:43:20):
Oh, I don't know if it'll let me put it in the chat
Zach's going to be having aminor freakout and grabbing
Reuben's hair.

Speaker 6 (01:43:29):
Like we're definitely on the good list, but if he
takes the things first, we'regoing to be on the bad list.
Oh no, is there?

Speaker 4 (01:43:37):
a neat place that I can put this, because I can't,
for whatever reason, it's notletting me put it in the chat.

Speaker 2 (01:43:43):
It's not letting you put it in the chat.
It says messages fail to load.

Speaker 4 (01:43:46):
Oh can you see the chat?
No, I can't even see it.
Well, I can see it, but it'slike messages have load
Interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:43:50):
I don't think they have access.
Can you send it to me directlyand I'll put in the chat.

Speaker 4 (01:43:56):
Who offered to do that?

Speaker 2 (01:43:58):
Brandon.

Speaker 4 (01:43:59):
Irish.

Speaker 8 (01:43:59):
Wookie.

Speaker 3 (01:44:02):
What is it?
It says Brandon Kale Frost, frost, bran Frost.

Speaker 2 (01:44:08):
Bane.

Speaker 8 (01:44:12):
As we go by this elf, ruben's just going to draw his
scimitar and point it at him andsay stay off the naughty list,
because in his mind, right likethis elf, is stealing slinkies
which could go to needy kids, and instead he's pointing them
for himself.

Speaker 4 (01:44:30):
I was definitely like the capitalist system is very
predatory, so I was trying togive slinkies to the less
fortunate bandits in the area.
Aw, that's so nice.
Yeah, they needed help and theyjust had too much gold to be on

(01:44:56):
the nice list.
Just go.
You know what?
I never said a thing.

Speaker 5 (01:45:01):
He just kind of like smacks me Wrong lever.

Speaker 4 (01:45:10):
Alrighty.
So are you guys all going toI'm assuming, adventure or Toy
Room?
Probably grabbed everybody'sattention.
Yeah, shopping trip, alright.
So as you veer, there is likein front of you big thing that
says auditorium.
To the left it says adventurers, toy room.
You're like not yet to veer offto the left, it opens up into
an area where there is like amagical candy cane, uh, kind of

(01:45:35):
like sealed.
You can see a bunch of likereally big, like arcane locks
and levers and things keepingthis closed.
It says, uh, you know, adventurers, adventurers, toy
room, authorized personnel only.
And in front of it there is likea console and you see a big bin
of lights next and there is umfive what looks to be like uh,

(01:45:59):
sockets that you can screw someof these lights in, and you see
a variety of color of lights.
Um, you see white, you seeblack, you see blue, you see red
and green and there's alsoyellow in there.
But, um, and each one of themis also labeled like the black
one has coal on it like apicture of coal.
The blue one is just blue, uh,but the white one has coal on it
like a picture of coal.
The blue one is just blue.
The white one has a littlepicture of snow.

(01:46:23):
On the red one, you see apicture of Rudolph.
On green, you see there's alittle picture of mistletoe.

Speaker 3 (01:46:30):
Okay, so what is the configuration of the lights?

Speaker 4 (01:46:33):
Sorry, the sockets Are they in a straight line.
They're in a line left to right.

Speaker 3 (01:46:40):
Okay, so left to right.
So Rudolph leads the way Irealized this.

Speaker 4 (01:46:47):
It says start here on the left side.
Oh, no, sharpie.

Speaker 3 (01:46:53):
So the red light goes in the left one, the green one
goes in the left one, the greenone goes in the the next one
yeah, the green one is thesecond one, and then you said
there's how many so there's five, five total sockets.

Speaker 4 (01:47:12):
Uh, six total colors, but there was nothing yellow
mentioned.
Okay, so the thing, so it'smaybe an obvious red herring.
So so red, yeah it's maybe anobvious red herring.

Speaker 3 (01:47:22):
So red yeah.
I can't really tell whether itgoes red.
It goes red-green and theneither black-blue-white or
white-black-blue.
I can't tell.

Speaker 2 (01:47:35):
So I think it's red, and then the mistletoe's
following, so green, and then, because you spend too much time
under the mistletoe, then it'scoal, and then, followed, coal
is the blue.

Speaker 8 (01:47:46):
And then white, and then white at the end.
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 3 (01:47:50):
Yeah, because I couldn't tell if the snow is
never far behind, never farbehind the coal and the blues or
never far behind Rudolph.
But if it's one sentence, soit's probably you're right.
That's how I would do it.
Red green black, blue, white, and while this is, going on.

Speaker 2 (01:48:11):
Kale is just holding the sword up to his ear trying
to listen to Sword Bro, it'sdefinitely all red for blood.

Speaker 5 (01:48:19):
It's definitely all red for blood.
It's a red herring.
Everything is rude.
They are fools, Master Speaker.

Speaker 4 (01:48:30):
They cannot hear me, is everybody good on that?
I believe it was red, green, black, blue, white.
Everybody good yeah, that so Ibelieve it was red green black
blue, white, yeah, yeah, everybody, good, yeah, as the
doors like slowly, these huge, like foot thick doors, uh,
behind it you just see atreasure trove.

(01:48:50):
Um, you solved my puzzle.
I just I come up, I came upwith these.
Uh, the other day I was likegreat or poorly, I, it makes
sense to me oh, that that's theother day.

Speaker 2 (01:49:02):
I was like great or poorly, it makes sense to me.
Oh, that's the hardest partabout this.
I read something once.
It was like come up withpuzzles that a second grader can
solve, Otherwise you're goingto spend 30 minutes figuring out
for your players, because toyou it makes perfect sense To
your players conveying, it'sdifficult as hell.

Speaker 4 (01:49:18):
So back here is an assortment of pretty much
anything you can imagine, if youwant.
I don't want to take youragency away from you.
If you can find a legendaryitem of your choosing, you can
have one, or I can give you one.
It'll be somewhat at random, possibly depending on your

(01:49:40):
character, uh, but feel free toperuse.
Uh, it could be anyone.
Doesn't matter how obviouslybroken you've cracked into the
adventurer's toy room you can gogo wild with it is this a good
spot for us to maybe take abreak as well while we're?
perfect.
So, yeah, maybe let's take10-ish or something.
Y'all can look at the thelegendary.
Is this a good spot for us tomaybe take a break as well while
we're searching through?
So, yeah, maybe let's take10-ish or something.

(01:50:02):
Y'all can look at the legendarythings.
We do bio break and then.
So everybody wants Universal.
Solve it right.

Speaker 8 (01:50:11):
That's legendary.
Evidently I didn't know that.
I think I know what I want.
It's like a potion of giantgrowth.

Speaker 2 (01:50:20):
A potion of giant growth.

Speaker 4 (01:50:24):
There's a lot of good ones.

Speaker 2 (01:50:26):
Yeah, Ryan, does this sword have an actual name?

Speaker 4 (01:50:29):
It does not have a name under the death knight
thing, so it's right for naming,if you want it.
I was thinking something likeDerek, but that's not a very
epic name.
I love Derek.
That is awesome.
It's like people that nametheir dogs like Chris.

Speaker 5 (01:50:47):
It's like ah that's a human name.

Speaker 4 (01:50:49):
Why it's like why.

Speaker 2 (01:50:53):
All right, so is the sword itself an actual item.

Speaker 4 (01:50:57):
Yes, it's an item I can send you.
It doesn't really have any.
It's just the description ofthe attack that the Death Knight
has.
It's a longsword that does anextra 4d8 damage of necrotic.
All right, I'll just make one, then, which may or may not Like.
Honestly, when it comes toundead, it may not be the most

(01:51:18):
useful thing to have, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:51:19):
For everything else, though, pretty extra 4d8
necrotic damage named derrickderrick the long sword derrick
and I are going to go on someadventures I've always been a
fan.

Speaker 4 (01:51:34):
Uh, in other editions , like, the weapon that the
monster had would betransferable, but in 5e they
don't really do that, for somereason.
They say, if you fight a drow, the drow's weapon will be added
to it, which I was like.
But why, though?

Speaker 2 (01:51:51):
It's a drow.
Everything they have shouldhave poison.

Speaker 4 (01:51:56):
They should also be carrying around gallon buckets
of poison.
Alright, I'm going to gobathroom, bathroom, real quick.
I'll be back in five or tenminutes okay, sounds good, you
sound good why?

Speaker 7 (01:52:09):
thank you.
What insane legendary weaponare you going?

Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
after dude, I don't know like.
I'm looking at these and youknow what I keep coming back to
is the Ring of Three Wishes.

Speaker 7 (01:52:19):
Oh, shit, dude.
I barely could figure out theuncommon items.
I picked the ComprehendLanguage helmet.
I just reflavored it as a Santahat.
I might grab a Robe of theArchmage Eye, though it just

(01:52:40):
becomes, like my spellcasting'salready obnoxious.
I got the Rhythm Maker's Drumplus 3, so I have a 21
spellcasting right now.
The Robe of the Archmagi putsthat up by 2 more shit it'd be
gross.
It'd be pretty gross, but Idon't do any damaging spells so
I'm not really that helpful oh,the deck of many things that

(01:53:03):
couldn't possibly ruin this ohmy god, can you re-flavor it as
like a small Santa sack of manythings?

Speaker 8 (01:53:14):
well, there's like four different decks now after
the, after the book of manythings.
So there's like four differentdecks now after the book of many
things.
So there's the deck of manymore things, the deck of many
things, the deck of severalthings.

Speaker 3 (01:53:29):
I was muted.
I like the deck of severalthings.
Couldn't really afford manythings, so we just got several
Right.

Speaker 7 (01:53:39):
Look that shopkeep, she was just gouging us on the
many things.
So we just got several Right.
Look that shopkeep, she wasjust gouging us on the many
things.

Speaker 8 (01:53:44):
Legendary dragon-touched focus.
Once per day casts a spellfirst level or higher as a ninth
level spell, oh dip.

Speaker 7 (01:53:53):
Brandon's gonna doom us all.

Speaker 3 (01:53:55):
Well, yeah, yeah, I'm not good at it.
Took me a very long time todoom us all.
Well, yeah, yeah, I'm not goodat it.
Took me a very long time topick out weapons or pick out
other items the Gloves of SoulCatching, oh my god Gold Canary.

Speaker 8 (01:54:12):
Figurine of Wondrous Power.
Yeah.
I saw that too.
It just summons a golden canaryright so you can turn it into a
giant canary that you can rideor, if you would prefer, a gold
dragon I would like to see howthe centaur is riding this big

(01:54:33):
gold canary hither, tither staff.

Speaker 7 (01:54:38):
Oh, that's pretty, pretty cool, though I mean.

Speaker 8 (01:54:40):
Bill, you may want to go with a holy avenger plus
three long sword extra 2d10.
Radiant to undead or fiends 10foot radius.
All friendly creatures haveadvantage on saving throws
against spells or other magicaleffects damn the avenger.
Ioun Stone of GreaterAbsorption.
You can use your reaction tocancel Ioun Stones.

(01:55:04):
Use your reaction to cancel aspell of 8th level or lower cast
by a creature you can see, targeting only you.

Speaker 2 (01:55:12):
Alright, I'm so ready .
I know what I'm choosing.

Speaker 7 (01:55:14):
All of the attunement things.

Speaker 4 (01:55:17):
That's a tough one.
Yeah, Attunement coming intothe mix.

Speaker 3 (01:55:21):
Oh yeah, because I've already attuned Like we've been
kicking around in high levelthings for years and years and
we've acquired all of our stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:55:33):
I also just shared the Roll20.
I imagine there might be a bitof a boss fight coming up what
I'm so ready.

Speaker 2 (01:55:41):
Where are you guys sharing that stuff too?
I'm putting in the chat rightnow, bud, yeah, oh, cool, cool,
cool.
For some reason, ryan doesn'thave access to it it's, it's
like weird, it's like, oh,please reload.

Speaker 8 (01:55:53):
And then I hit the reload thing and I think it
might be because we're in thepodcast channel instead of the
community game channel.
Oh yeah, it might be becausewe're in the podcast channel
instead of the community gamechannel.

Speaker 4 (01:56:00):
Oh yeah, that might be true.
We see all the things youbought.
It's like I didn't buy this.
I haven't spent that much money.

Speaker 8 (01:56:08):
Crap, where's my password?
I somehow got logged out.
Dun dun dun.

Speaker 7 (01:56:14):
Oh man, I think I have to take off my cloak of
keeping me somewhat safer.

Speaker 4 (01:56:21):
That's why I figured it would probably be okay to
give a little legendary, becauseI would imagine almost
everybody has to get rid of oneof the other magical items.
It's a bit of an issue yeah itis.

Speaker 7 (01:56:32):
But I figure, if you're going for the legendary
item, I might as well go for themost bonkers one I could grab
and go for Robe of the Magi orArchmagi.
Oh, but the trade-off is I'mnot as squishy.
I got 17 AC now.

Speaker 2 (01:56:48):
So I'm letting you know, Ryan, I almost chose the
Ring of Three Wishes.

Speaker 4 (01:56:53):
Hey.

Speaker 2 (01:56:53):
I mean, that gives me so much ability to like twist
things yeah.
I know that's the reason.

Speaker 7 (01:57:00):
I didn't.
I'm very surprised you didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:57:03):
I didn't, I chose something else.

Speaker 4 (01:57:06):
Honestly, there's been a couple of things.
I've always avoided givingcharacters, which I might try
and, but I've never given thedeck of many things because I've
never done high enough leveladventures where it really makes
sense and I've never doneanything wish related actually.
Well, I'm in a tomb ofannihilation and they just met

(01:57:27):
like a genie and basically likebartered for three wishes, but
like the genie was like, butlike normal wishes, oh, I'd like
a cup of coffee.
Let's not get wild here.
I'm not a very powerful age.

Speaker 2 (01:57:44):
During our game I had the characters get transferred
temporarily to another plane andthey met a djinn who gave them
wishes and it's still fuckingwith them to this day.
That was like two years ago.

Speaker 4 (01:57:58):
Always comes back around.
Has everybody picked an item sofar?

Speaker 3 (01:58:04):
I am absolutely awful at this.
No, I have not, oh no wait,Take your time, no rush.

Speaker 4 (01:58:09):
I'm still trying to find like halfway decent.

Speaker 2 (01:58:12):
What kind of class are you, Phil?
Are you a paladin?

Speaker 3 (01:58:16):
No, I am a Sorlokadin .
Okay, Odip Sorcerer, WarlockPaladin.

Speaker 8 (01:58:25):
I'm a wand of the War Mage.
You could take a look at powerarmor, I see, or powered armor,
or whatever we're getting reallyinto the Warhammer stuff now
For the Imperium.

Speaker 4 (01:58:40):
I'm actually, I think , the next.
So I've got a D&D game that iswinding down Tomb of
Annihilation, and we're thinkingabout doing I think it's with
Wrath and Globals the Warhammer40k relatively new-ish.

Speaker 2 (01:58:54):
I was reading something about it.
It does look like it's going tobe a good time.

Speaker 4 (01:59:03):
Yeah, and it's got tiered play, so you can be a
bunch of space marines doingspace marine stuff, or you could
be just like a random thug inthe streets of like a hive city,
trying to like eek out morethan just eating corpse starch
all the time.
Nice, so it's got a bunch oflayers to it.

Speaker 3 (01:59:17):
Maybe the platinum scarf.

Speaker 2 (01:59:19):
That'd be good.
I was doing a real quick searchand maybe a blood fury tattoo
lets you do bonus necroticdamage.
It lets you regain hit pointson a successful melee hit.
So it gives you extraversatility when you're doing
ranged or melee damage.
It's called a blood fury tattoo, or you can go like Like A real

(01:59:44):
classic ring of spell storing.

Speaker 8 (01:59:48):
Spell turning Ring of spell storing.

Speaker 3 (01:59:49):
Spell turning is the legendary one.
Storing just stores.
Turning blocks spells, becausestoring is not a legendary Right
.

Speaker 2 (02:00:01):
I think it is isn't it?

Speaker 3 (02:00:03):
No, I think it's just no, it's rare.

Speaker 2 (02:00:06):
Okay, my bad, so, um.
So yeah, ryan Kale's gonna lookaround trying to ignore his
sword behind him, and he seesthis robe that kind of catches
his eyes and he's going to walkup and grab it.
And it's this dark blue robe.
It's got a bunch of small whiteand silver stars embroidered on

(02:00:29):
it and he's going to grab itand put it on.
He's going to grab the robe ofstars.

Speaker 3 (02:00:34):
Nice I think I like the scarf because I have to give
up my cloak of protection, which loses me 1 AC.
The platinum scarf.
And with the platinum scarf Ican pull a scale off and get a
plus 1 shield which gives meback my plus 1 plus I can pull,

(02:00:56):
pull scales off to heal.
Oh shit, or?

Speaker 7 (02:00:59):
make a big ass hammer and it's like plus one.

Speaker 3 (02:01:00):
Plus, I can pull scales off to heal or make a big
ass hammer.
I was like, how many scalesdoes it have?
Oh, it's covered in them.
So yeah, as many as I want, andit's.
It does a breath of life.
The scale disappears and you ora creature you touch gains 10d4
hit points Oof.

Speaker 2 (02:01:21):
Nice, it's wild.
Yeah, the Robe of Stars.
It gives me a plus one bonus tosaving throws, and then I've
got six stars that regenerate atdusk.
But as an action, I can pullone of the stars off and cast
Magic Missile as a 5th levelspell, and then also, while

(02:01:43):
wearing the robe, I can, just asan action, choose to enter the
astral plane.
With everything I'm wearing andcarrying.
Yeah, Fizzbank or Fizznack, jump into my arms.
I got you.

Speaker 7 (02:01:58):
I do it blindly, I don't even.

Speaker 2 (02:02:02):
Fuck this centaur.

Speaker 7 (02:02:06):
Dun, dun dun.

Speaker 5 (02:02:07):
Alright.

Speaker 7 (02:02:09):
Oh, Brandon, did you share that thing?
By the way, the link.

Speaker 2 (02:02:13):
Yeah, it's in the chat oh um.

Speaker 7 (02:02:17):
What chat are you guys in, by the way, am I?

Speaker 2 (02:02:18):
in a wrong.
This chat right here, thepodcast.
He doesn't have access oh.
I'll just send it to you.
My bad it's probably the samedamn it.
Ray, you had one job.

Speaker 8 (02:02:30):
I'm sorry so while Reuven was looking through the
chest of many things or thesupply closet, there was a
shield that was speaking to himbecause it's also sentient, so
it's the shield of the hiddenlord yeah, from.

Speaker 4 (02:02:52):
Baldur's.

Speaker 8 (02:02:53):
Gate.
Oh, here we go okay.

Speaker 4 (02:02:56):
The shield of the hidden lord Celestial, the
prison for a pit fiend?
Yeah, I remember reading aboutthis one.
Was it the?
Is it dragon heist?
It's uh descendants of earnestoh yeah, um, oh yeah, okay, okay
, yeah, yeah did you know you'regoing to be voicing two objects
today?
Ryan I honestly, I wasn't likethere was this part of me.

(02:03:17):
It's like whenever you pick upa weird looking sword, it's
gotta be, yeah, it's gotta.
That's just the rule.
Um, I mean, it's not gonna betoo far off from honestly, could
be twinsies.

Speaker 8 (02:03:30):
So so the the best part about it is it's your
ability to choose when ithappens.
During my turn, you can chooseto radiate an aura of dread for
a minute.
Any creature hostile to me thatstarts its turn within 20 feet
must make DC 18 wisdom savingthrow.
Failed save, it's frighteneduntil the start of its next turn

(02:03:51):
.
No, I don't want them to bescared.

Speaker 4 (02:03:55):
They're quite fine, so I'm going to lock that one in
Nice For those of you, that onein Nice For those of you that
are in the Roll20,.
I've got some tokens selected.
They're not necessarily likeI'm just having a hard time
finding good ones and I own themIf any of these fit your motif.
I remember there also beingmore drows.

Speaker 2 (02:04:14):
Yeah, this is kind of close.
I'll take the top left one, this one, yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:04:20):
Alright, zoomed way in.
You can't just add your ownpicture, I guess.

Speaker 4 (02:04:25):
That would be a nice thing yeah.

Speaker 8 (02:04:28):
I think with the changes to Charactermanser it
became more difficult.

Speaker 4 (02:04:33):
So can you move the token.

Speaker 2 (02:04:35):
Let's see let's pan select.

Speaker 8 (02:04:44):
Yeah, it should be there.

Speaker 3 (02:04:45):
Yes, yeah, there, yes , again I'll take a bottom left,
this one, yep, there's nodrought, really yeah, I'll take
the I'll.

Speaker 7 (02:04:50):
I'll take whatever goblin, it doesn't matter.
You guys know what I look likethese are.

Speaker 4 (02:04:55):
They're not gonna last very long.
I mean, it's just for this one.
What is your?
Oh, it's Bill.

Speaker 3 (02:05:02):
I forgot about my shield.
I have a shield of expression.
I do too the common is some ofmy favorite so she was just
going to be running around withit, always having a screaming
face angry, screaming face.
An angry, screaming face.

Speaker 4 (02:05:24):
If everybody could test their tokens real quick.
Make sure your roll 20 is sick.

Speaker 3 (02:05:30):
I'm currently making a cup of coffee.
It should be done any minute orany second, no worries.

Speaker 2 (02:05:36):
Cup of coffee at 1030 .
All right, bill, it's decaf.

Speaker 4 (02:05:46):
It's only 9 30.

Speaker 3 (02:05:47):
oh yeah I forgot you moved.
Yeah, central time zone.

Speaker 4 (02:05:48):
I I'll be actually right back for hot second nice
quite tired of texas, so hothere understandable.
Oh, you're in texas as wellyeah, my wife's in the air force
, um, and she was enlisted firstand then she became a mustang,
become an officer from enlistedand they don't allow you to stay
in the same place because theydon't want you fraternizing um.

(02:06:10):
So it was like, what were theavailable?
Like idaho we go to like reallybutt crack Florida, like not
near anything.
I can't remember the.

Speaker 8 (02:06:22):
It's not the one near Pensacola.

Speaker 4 (02:06:24):
Okay, it wasn't Pensacola, it was like a.
Really I had to look it up, itwas not near.
She was an intel officer, sothere's like a very specific
place that they go to in Florida.
And then there was like somerailroad so I was like you know
what texas is?
Fine, we'll do texas, texas, like pretty, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (02:06:43):
Did you say air force ?
Is that what you said?
Yeah, air force.

Speaker 2 (02:06:46):
Yeah, okay yeah bill andrew and I were all in the
navy uh, yeah, I work for thenavy.

Speaker 4 (02:06:52):
Oh yeah, I, I.
I worked for, uh, theconstruction side um, ddg50
class destroyer Hole andmechanical electricals, which,
honestly, fine with me.
Yeah right, I don't need thatlevel of clearance, I don't need
that much scrutiny, I'm finejust doing other stuff.
I don't need War Thunderplayers trying to get in my

(02:07:15):
inbox asking for specs.
So I guess, you're out towardssan antonio, then yeah, um, san
antonio it was.
It's like fine, I don't havelike a lot of problems with san
antonio and south.
Well, driving here sucks, uh,coming from like a city with
like mission, like we lived inwashington dc before um and then

(02:07:38):
moving to a place with acomplete lack of like any public
transportation, the roads wereon um, there's a pretty big road
on the, I guess south no, Iguess it's southwest side like I
guess maybe just west sidecalled calabra, and it's just
become like a suburban nightmare.

(02:07:59):
Keep on adding more and moresuburb offshoots off this main
road.
It's only a four-lane road butthere's just so many people here
, so getting anywhere aroundfrom like it's rough, very rough
.

Speaker 8 (02:08:16):
So I live in Houston and every time I go to San
Antonio I'm just like it doesget worse, apparently, in Texas.

Speaker 4 (02:08:22):
It does fucking get worse.
And yeah, the traffic heresucks.
The drivers here suck reallybad too, because there's so much
traffic and your stop's so muchworse because they're missing
lights.
My wife was actually hoping togo to Houston yesterday.
Beyonce was at Kamala's rally.
Yeah, she was like trying toget tickets.

(02:08:43):
She's like I can do it.
It's only a three and a halfhour drive.

Speaker 8 (02:08:49):
If you want to let her know that she made the right
decision not to go.
They gave out 1.1 milliontickets to an event that only
let 30,000 in the door.

Speaker 4 (02:09:01):
Oh my god, it makes sense.
When the ticket said does notguarantee admission, I was like,
that's right, you're notgetting inside, you're not
getting inside.
I don't think she was doing asong or anything.
I think she was just like heyvote for this person.
A bit of a letdown.

Speaker 8 (02:09:18):
Yeah, as of 2pm, so it was an hour before it started
.
The line was blocks and blockslong.
Kamala didn't come on until 8pm, so people were there for
five hours for her to come onfor 10 minutes maybe.
Oh my God.

Speaker 4 (02:09:37):
Yeah, I wasn't going to go because because I actually
I'm getting older, so I wasplaying with my dog on friday I
don't know it's thursday and Ilike strained a muscle in my, in
my calf, by like standing uptoo quickly like playing with my
dog, like trying to run aroundthere, and I was like yesterday
came around, she's like we couldgo, it's like I think I have to

(02:09:59):
like ice this and like keep itelevated, like I can barely like
walk right now it's definitelybetter it's definitely like I
was worried.
I was really worried that I liketore a muscle.
I think I just strained it.
Um, I got a doctor'sappointment like on monday, but
yeah, I was like I'm not gonnaget in the car for three and a
half hours and then maybe standfor five.

Speaker 2 (02:10:19):
I feel like that would be oh yeah, instead of
resting this, yeah I like thegame in your 30s where you play
this fun game when you wake upin the morning.
What part of my body's gonnamake noise this morning?

Speaker 4 (02:10:30):
did not.
It was such an unexpected thing.
I was like, no, I didn't evendo anything.
I was like I was like laying onthe couch with my leg elevated
with some ice on it and my wifeJasmine came out.
I was like what's wrong withyou?
Maybe tore a muscle?
What did you do?

(02:10:51):
I was like I played with thedog.
Getting older Bill shakes hishead in his 40s dog.
Getting older Bill shakes hishead in his 40s 50.

Speaker 2 (02:11:03):
I didn't want to call you out, Bill 52 a couple of
days ago.

Speaker 3 (02:11:08):
I know, oh, happy birthday.
Well, sorry, 12 days ago.
Yeah, 12 days, it's nothing forpeople.
My age Blink.
I was a blink.
I was going to say that the funthing is when you pull a muscle
while stretching.
When you get up in the morning,oh, what did I?

(02:11:28):
Oh my God.

Speaker 2 (02:11:31):
You know, I should have known that.
I had the memories pop up of usgoing to the wine festival last
year or two years ago, and Ididn't even text you.
I'm gonna.
I'm just a bad friendapparently.
Uh, happy birthday oh thanks.

Speaker 3 (02:11:44):
No, that's, that's cool.
I, uh, I am.
You might be a bad.
I am awful.
I don't tell anybody happybirthday and I avoid I.
One of the reasons I avoidfacebook is because it pops up
and tells me what people'sbirthdays are, but I only get on
Facebook like once every threemonths.
So it's like I'm not going totell this person happy birthday,

(02:12:05):
because what is everybody elsegoing to think?
Yeah, like like my mother.
I didn't tell my mother happybirthday on Facebook, so yeah,
Is it?

Speaker 7 (02:12:16):
even official.

Speaker 2 (02:12:18):
I mean, yes, not on Facebook, right?
So yeah, then is it evenofficial.
I mean, it's not on Facebook,it's not official.

Speaker 8 (02:12:23):
Things can happen off of Facebook that are so true?

Speaker 7 (02:12:25):
No no, if it's not on the internet, it doesn't exist.

Speaker 3 (02:12:29):
It was funny Last year when I got onto Facebook
and it popped up and had happybirthdays on it and I was like,
okay, I need to say thank you toall these people that say happy
birthday.
And I realized that the lasttime I was on Facebook was my
birthday two years prior.
Like, oh, I'm probably notgoing to say that, I'm just

(02:12:51):
going to get off here.

Speaker 4 (02:12:53):
I try to go on like once every month because my mom
posts on there, I have familythat posts on there, so it's
nice to keep a brace, but like II get like a good five minutes
like this place.
Like I don't know, facebook hasgotten so bad.
Oh yeah, we used to post stuffon facebook.
The worst, like the comments, was the worst, so like it

(02:13:16):
wouldn't matter, like howpedantic I made the meme and
like how specific to the rulesit was.
There would always be somethinglike well, actually that would
like never happen and if you getthat in your game, you are the
scum of the earth um I had oneguy.
He had a whole like and it waslike the most like
self-righteous, like completely,um, weird.

(02:13:39):
Take basically talking abouthow I'm an inferior being and
that I would like, I would likestutter in his presence because
he's so much better than me atdungeons and dragons oh my god,
hundreds of pages.
I I think I posted I like, tookscreenshots and I posted on
twitter.

Speaker 2 (02:13:54):
At the hell man, what the hell man.

Speaker 4 (02:13:56):
I was like this is the time I don't post on fucking
Facebook anymore.
Wild stuff, Just absolutelywild.

Speaker 7 (02:14:04):
It sounds like the guys that would keep you out of
the shops in the 90s.
That would have the sweatpantsup to the chest and if you
couldn't recite the full spellof 3.5E, you were not sitting at
the table.

Speaker 4 (02:14:18):
That's one of the reasons, like I've heard,
warhammer 40k can either beimmensely cool, like the people
playing it, or just evil.
Ever Like, just like.
Because, like Dungeons, dragons, like you can get real pedantic
, but with like an actual likewar game where you have to have
a ruler and stuff, like you justopen the doors to the most like
specific, like you just openthe doors to the most like
specific, like no, you can'tactually see my, you have to do

(02:14:40):
it for the perspective of thebase, not the top of the thing.
No, you're, you can't.
Well, we obviously can't playtogether your biddies are
unpainted.

Speaker 7 (02:14:51):
Yeah, you, you.
You just tell people that you3d print them and it's like they
start hissing at you, it's it'sawful man like I spent.

Speaker 4 (02:14:59):
You know there's one of the reasons I haven't gotten
40k also is like I know I willspend on it yeah, there was a
video where they were talkingabout like, if you want to get
into the really big mech ones,it's like rand, yeah, like
pieces and parts separately andthat's unpainted, um, so it's
just like and then you'respending another couple grand
probably getting it painted, oryeah.

Speaker 2 (02:15:22):
Alright, y'all ready.
Yeah, ready.
Did you choose a?

Speaker 7 (02:15:24):
legendary item.
Yes, I took the robe of theArchmagi, so now I'm just a big
old glass cannon of Christmaswhimsy.

Speaker 5 (02:15:33):
Awesome.

Speaker 4 (02:15:36):
For the radio aspect, we'll start in the toy room and
you will all emerge with youritem and you can make love it
awesome.
For the radio aspect, we'll, um, we'll start in the toy room
and you will all emerge, uh,with your item and you can make
it's going to make yourcharacter incredibly broken.
Um, so you all spend a littletime perusing through the
adventurer's toy room.
Um, what item do you pick outfrom the giant, from the racks

(02:15:59):
and racks of just super broken, incredibly powerful.

Speaker 2 (02:16:05):
Yeah.
So Kael is going to startlooking around, and he's going
to the entire time.
He hears the sword talkingbehind him and he's trying his
best to ignore him so he canfocus on the items in front of
him.
But one thing catches his eye,and it's this robe.
And it's this dark blue robethat's embroidered with small
white and silver stars, and hepicks it up and the first thing

(02:16:26):
he does is kind of hold itagainst his head to see if it
talks to him, and after itdoesn't, he puts it on.
Oh, were you about to saysomething, ryan?

Speaker 4 (02:16:36):
I was pretending to say something.
I was like were you about tosay something?
Right, I was.
I was pretending to saysomething.

Speaker 2 (02:16:48):
Am I gonna say something?
Yeah, you put it on and noadditional voices into your head
, which, honestly, probably asigh of relief.
Probably, good, yeah, so, uh,yeah, he, he chose the robo
stars, so it gives me a plus onebonus to saving throws.
I have six stars on the upperfront portion that are very
large compared to the others.
While wearing it, I can use anaction to pull one of the stars
off and use it to cast magicmissiles as a fifth level spell
Daily at dusk 1d6 remove stars, reappear on the robe and then,

(02:17:11):
while I wear the robe, I can usean action to enter the astral
plane along with everything I'vebeen wearing and carrying.
I can remain there until I usean action to return to the plane
I was on prior to.
I reappear in the last spacethat I was occupying or, if that
space is occupied, the nearestunoccupied space.

Speaker 4 (02:17:32):
Pretty useful item, honestly Great.
Pull you step out, flare yourrobe and wait for somebody else
to exit.

Speaker 3 (02:17:42):
Vaylin went a little mundane.
She picked up the PlatinumScarf, which has three functions
that it can do.
One of them is producing a plusone shield, which is a Platinum
Shield that she can use as ashield for an hour.
Another one is a.

(02:18:03):
Basically she can pull a scalefrom the platinum scarf and heal
somebody for 10d4.
Or she can pull a scale andturn it into a radiant hammer,
which probably won't ever beused by her, but it's basically
a two.
Instead of regular damage, itdoes radiant damage.

(02:18:26):
It's kind of broken that, but Iactually found that there is a
limit you can only do.
It only has three charges thatyou can use per day, one of
which will be used for theshield and then the other two
will probably be used forhealing as needed.

Speaker 4 (02:18:44):
You have a nice warm comfy like hand-knit, with a
bunch of I guess it's likesequins of scales on it that you
can use.

Speaker 3 (02:18:53):
I'm picturing it kind of like a dragon skin type of
scarf, like a platinum dragon.
That's what I'm picturing itkind of like a dragon skin type
of scarf.

Speaker 4 (02:19:05):
Yeah, yeah, like a platinum dragon.
That's what I'm picturing it asmy mind goes towards like gold,
lame, but platinum lame.

Speaker 3 (02:19:09):
But yeah, no, I dig it and I'm thinking like tassels
on the end of it, so like she'sgot it like thrown over her
shoulder, Like the classic theway you wear a scarf, kind of
like wrapped around and nothanging down and just kind of
like dangling there and itcompliments her her outfit very
well radiating so as Reuben goesinto the toy room, he's

(02:19:36):
immediately hit with this deep, hollow, whispering voice in his
head uh, as a sentient shield isreaching out to him to have him
pick it up in a tune.

Speaker 8 (02:19:49):
Pick me up master, we can do such great things but as
they're having kind of thismiddle conversation conversation
, he finds out that, while theshield is of celestial origin,
origin, it's actually a prisonfor a pit fiend that fashions
itself like a god, which doesn'tsit well with him being the

(02:20:10):
good cleric that he is and theloyal follower of santa claus.
And so, as he's looking aroundand perusing, he sees just this
simple piece of vellum that issealed with a wax seal with a
comment on it, and he selects ascroll of the comet.

Speaker 5 (02:20:28):
I promise you I'm much better than that scroll.

Speaker 8 (02:20:32):
And so by using an by using an action Quiet you Using
an action, my support is outthere somewhere.
Quiet you.
Using an action to read theskull, I cause a comet to fall
from the sky and crash into theground at a point I can see up
to a mile from me.
I must be outdoors when I usethe scroll or nothing happens
and it's wasted.
The comet creates a 50-footdeep, 500-foot radius crater.

(02:20:56):
On impact, any creature in thatradius must make a DC 20 deck
save or take 30 D10 force damageOn a failed saving.
Throw half as much on asuccessful one.
All structures in the craterare destroyed.
All non-magical objects notbeing worn or held are also
destroyed.

Speaker 4 (02:21:15):
Okay, so a bit of a nuke.

Speaker 2 (02:21:17):
you could say Good thing I can go to the astral
plane.

Speaker 4 (02:21:22):
Oh my god, just arm straight out between you and it.
You just kind of like walk.
Oh, I don't know if you guysseen Anchorman, but it's when
Brick has the grenade.
Yeah, yeah, you find the scrollof the the comet a very rare
and powerful spell.

(02:21:43):
Uh, I was honestly thinkingthat you, when you said the
scrolls like are you gonna grabthe scroll of tarrasque,
something?

Speaker 8 (02:21:49):
oh no, oh my god, I was very tempted, but when it
said that I couldn't control it,I figured like one epic fight
is enough for a one-shot.

Speaker 4 (02:22:00):
So you've got the scroll.
We've got one last personcruising the Adventurer's Toilet
.

Speaker 7 (02:22:06):
Fiznak's very torn, very torn about taking something
from the room in fear that hewill not be in Santa's good
graces.
But he does find a white, veryornate and elegant robe that he
takes off his crusty,ornament-covered Santa's jacket,
puts on the white robe of theArchmage Eye and since it stays

(02:22:30):
on him and it doesn't reactpoorly, he figures he's in the
good.
But it doesn't feel quite right.
So he puts his Santa coat overtop of the rob the robes and
shoves it all in, belts histhing back down.
So now he kind of looks likewhen, uh, steve Carell shoved
all the robes into his suit in,uh, evan almighty.
He just looks ridiculouslypuffy, just like craziness.

(02:22:55):
You can see like, like, likethe real ornate stuff sticking
out of his collar and stuff likethat.
And he comes out and like collarand coif, just kind of like
jutting out of your jumper umperfect, alright, but it boosts
my spellcasting and makes me alittle bit, a little bit more, a
little bit more better at thearmor, alright, you've all

(02:23:18):
exited.

Speaker 4 (02:23:18):
You're all armed a little bit more better at the
armor.
That's a good one, all right.
You've all exited.
You're all armed and armored invarious new toys that you found
.
Maybe they were meant for youall of the long, all along.
Maybe these were actuallyalways supposed to be yours.
Maybe these are your destinedgifts from Santa Claus, now worn
and here it's a dire hour infront of you, where there's no

(02:23:42):
lock, nothing to stop entry andabove it, in a sign you can
assume this is probably wherethey have their daily meetings.
They have little rallies hereas Christmas comes along, to get
everybody psyched up for thisseason.
Anything preparatory.
This would be the time where, like in a video game, it's like
are you sure you don't want todo anything Like?

(02:24:04):
Is there anything you want todo before this?
Now's the time.

Speaker 3 (02:24:07):
So you said we're walking into what's in the room.

Speaker 4 (02:24:11):
It's a giant auditorium but the doors are
still closed.
You haven't entered through, okay, but you can assume it's a
pretty large auditorium whereprobably most, if not all,
listen to Santa talk about hisvision for the next year.

Speaker 8 (02:24:24):
This is when we find out that Santa's actually
running an MLM scheme and likecalls them in for sales.

Speaker 2 (02:24:30):
Yeah, yeah.
So Gale is going to reach inhis pack and pull out a a small
feather, or sorry, a small tuftof fur.
He's going to throw it on theground while saying some words
and he's casting Summon Beastand a small dog-like creature,

(02:24:55):
kind of in the shape of what canonly be called a vicious
chihuahua, takes form next tokale.

Speaker 3 (02:25:02):
So uh, valen will, um , look down at her shield, her
uh, what do you call it?
Um her shield of expression, and realize that this shield of
expression, the expression partof it, can actually peel off of
the shield.
And as she pulls the scale offof her platinum scarf and it

(02:25:25):
turns into a shield, she's ableto slap the shield of expression
over top of the platinum shieldso she can still do her
expressions and, of course, shesummons her hex blade and has it
ready to go.

Speaker 4 (02:25:42):
Question I have are you going to burst through the
doors in dramatic fashion orsomething?
A third option, potentially.
How would you like to end?
I?

Speaker 3 (02:25:51):
mean, I'm not great at stealth, but I am in plate.

Speaker 2 (02:25:56):
I got you.

Speaker 3 (02:25:58):
I mean, I'm not bad at it.
It's mithril plate, so it's.

Speaker 2 (02:26:02):
I'm gonna, I'm gonna take back the Summoned Beasts,
if you don't mind me retroing, okay.
So yeah, kael's gonna stand, walk towards the door and turn
around to all of his companions, and he's going to suggest a
little louder than he wanted to.
Why don't we try to sneak intothis place?

(02:26:24):
Why don't we try to sneak inhere?
And he's going to cast PassWithout Trace on all of his
companions.

Speaker 4 (02:26:31):
Ensconced in heat.
Every time you place your foot, the sound is muffled.
Quite sneaky, right.

Speaker 3 (02:26:37):
Okay.
So when Valen starts sneaking, you notice the expression on the
shield, the eyes get kind ofsquinty and the face squishes
down a little bit, so it lookslike she's hiding.
I see.

Speaker 7 (02:26:53):
Fiznak got a 25 on the stealth oh.
I guess you want to roll forthat.

Speaker 4 (02:26:58):
Go ahead and roll stealth checks as you approach
the door.

Speaker 2 (02:27:01):
Oh, I got the fat dragon.
Oh nice, nice, natural 20.
20.
Stealth, all right.
So plus 9, naturally, and witha plus 10 on top of that.
Oh, I'm glad I had that.
Total is 29.

Speaker 7 (02:27:20):
Because plus 19?
Am I able to guidance ourfriend?

Speaker 8 (02:27:26):
yeah, you guidance yeah all right, well, with the
pass without a trace, I was upto 22, and so now I've got
another four with the guidance.
We're also sneaky, sneaky, yeahyou 32, and so now I've got
another four with the guidanceof 26.
We're all so sneaky, sneaky.

Speaker 3 (02:27:40):
Yeah, you, so I'm sitting at 32.

Speaker 4 (02:27:42):
So you all hunker down kind of slut Like and
honestly in a complete you slipthrough kind of ambling chairs
and I'll bring you that.
I set up just for referencepurposes.
This is like just some stuff Ithrew together just so we had
some size stuff Down below, because it kind of slants down

(02:28:04):
at a pretty steep angle as allthese chairs are filled Like
maybe you can see a pretty bigstate at the center of it.
You look so frail, veryostentatious purple gold accent.
These movements are prettylithe and wiry.
Next to them you see a littleantler kind of attached to the

(02:28:27):
head with some tape or some ropeeven.
Oh, poor.

Speaker 5 (02:28:32):
Santa Clause so upset , but just think about it it's
retirement.
You've worked for so long andwe all know the Santa Claus that
if you're to fall, that theperson that begets your falling
is the new Santa Claus Dying.
New management, giving awaytoys, secrets to little boys and

(02:28:58):
girls all around the world.
What are they going to use itfor?

Speaker 4 (02:29:02):
I knowing all of them .
Knowing all of them would be a.
So you see, kind of monologuingto Santa Claus, who's upside
down, you see there's like aritual circle that's been laid
out.
There's three big braziers thatare unlit and Santa Claus kind
of like almost in terms of likewrestling in the 90s.

(02:29:24):
There's almost like a what isit?
Is it Kane or the Undertakerstyle sacrifice that is about to
happen?
It's very dramatic.
This is all kind of going down.

Speaker 2 (02:29:35):
Is there anything you'd like to do, as he's kind
of like kind of sticking it toSanta Claus at this moment,
trying to like monologue to him,and he's going to whisper an
elvish swift death to my enemies, and I have now marked him as

(02:29:59):
my he's, so he is now my swornenemy until it dies, or until
dawn seven days later.

Speaker 4 (02:30:08):
I'm your enemy child.
How can that be?
You wear my mark, you have myeye in your Kind of does a
dramatic turnaround.
How could I be?
I give you you those are mygifts to you.
I am santa claus.
He kind of like puts a littlered furry cap on his head, or

(02:30:29):
maybe not now like I still havefull use of my body right.

Speaker 2 (02:30:33):
Like it's not okay, all right good, like the one.

Speaker 4 (02:30:36):
Catch.
All of that is like you getinside, you take damage, you get
the stuff, but he can seethrough the eye.
Oh no, I don't think he's lyingto a certain degree, okay, and
you feel that too.
You feel that kind of twinge inyour hand and your eye.
You don't have the last controlof it, but they are definitely
gifts.
They are definitely gifts quotefrom this person, whoever they

(02:30:59):
may be.

Speaker 2 (02:31:00):
Okay.
Well, that's what I'm doing inpreparation for this.

Speaker 4 (02:31:06):
Oh, I'll swear you'll have this jolly fat man done
that much for you in the past.

Speaker 5 (02:31:15):
I've spent millennia on the naughty list.
He has done not.
Did he not let?

Speaker 4 (02:31:22):
your parents die.
He kind of like points over toKale and Valen kind of had like
some parental death going on.

Speaker 3 (02:31:33):
Valen's parents died, but actually Santa saved Valen,
so this is more of like to Kale.
His parents died, but actuallySanta saved Valen.

Speaker 4 (02:31:39):
Ah, gotcha, gotcha.
So this is more of like T'Kale.
He let you up, he could havesaved them?

Speaker 5 (02:31:45):
And you too, Do you think if you had wished for your
parents to live another fat man?

Speaker 4 (02:31:54):
he gave you paltry presents and then ignored you
for a lifetime.

Speaker 5 (02:31:59):
And then knocked on your door when it was convenient
for him.
Does he love you or does he?
You worship a god that does notexist?
He is no red.
He is a fat man with a beardwho gives presents to children

(02:32:20):
and forces a whole factory floorof peasants to work under him.
He is no righteous god, he is acapitalist.
I am just planning on doing ithonestly.
I plan on he just hoards hissecrets, making so many secrets

(02:32:41):
and then giving it to thechildren to unravel Such a waste
.

Speaker 3 (02:32:46):
Um.
So Valen looks at whoever thisperson is talking um and kind of
cocks her head a little bit andsays I think you misunderstand
the purpose here.
My job is not to defend him, myjob is to defend all.

(02:33:08):
I deliver justice, I delivervengeance.
And she starts walking forwardwith her sword, kind of dragging
behind her on the ground, cutting the carpet behind her.
And you see, her eyes are justglowing and her, the expression
on her shield has turned fromher sneaky into a angry.

(02:33:33):
Pretty much would strike terrorinto anybody.
That's a normal person.
It's not going to do anythingto anybody in this room, but
that's the kind of face.

Speaker 2 (02:33:46):
Oh, go ahead.
Oh, no, no, no, I'm sorry, goahead, ryan, oh you're a woman
with vengeance in Vecna theWhispered One and let's roll for
initiative.
Can I ask for a favor before westart this?
Ryan Sure, so Kale's kind of onthe edge with all this and

(02:34:10):
bringing up his parents andeverything.
Is there some kind of role Ican do to see how convinced I am
on Vecna's persuasion, if youwill?

Speaker 4 (02:34:20):
you will, yeah, do an insight check insight check.

Speaker 2 (02:34:24):
I got a plus nine of this.
That's pretty good.

Speaker 4 (02:34:27):
23 yeah, like there is a part of there's.
Definitely he's touching likesome sore spots for you, but,
like everything about this guyis like he is not gonna be
better than santa claus.
Santa claus at least doesn'tsacrifice people.

(02:34:47):
You may not always get you whatyou want for christmas, but
like honestly, like the thingsthat happen to your family is
like things that happen topeople all across the world.
He's not a god like he's.
Like oh, he could have savedyour family, but he's also not a
god like he's.
You can tell that he's spewingnot a small amount of bullshit,

(02:35:08):
um, and will most definitely bemuch worse than santa claus.
Or I'm going to add turns.
Feel free to roll initiative onthis or otherwise, and then I
can add a.

Speaker 2 (02:35:24):
Valen got 18, 1 to 8 one of the feats I took was
alert, so I have a plus 13 toinitiative it's a 14 for Reuven
a 22 for Kayle.
I think I rolled a plus 13.

Speaker 7 (02:35:45):
If they roll 20, things a 20, then I have a 24.

Speaker 4 (02:35:48):
Okay, yeah, all right , sorry I might have to go.
Reuben was what?
14.
1-4.
You might be able to add in thestuff yourselves Valen was 18.
1-8.
Kale 22.
In the stuff y'all selves.
And then valen was 18, 18, kale22.
For vecna, unfortunately I.

(02:36:09):
I thought the vecna, like thefull-powered vecna, might be a
wild, because I think that cr islike a 27.
So this is a slightly moremanageable.
Just plainerna, a simulacrum.
He had a tussle with SantaClaus, so he's a little weaker

(02:36:29):
than he would.
That's my.
Santa Claus is still a powerfulbeing.

Speaker 8 (02:36:32):
Some might say a god.

Speaker 4 (02:36:34):
Maybe, what's a god doing?
What's a king doing?
Alright, so Descending Order.
Luckily I'll get to go first.
They roll.
I roll really bad.
Also the um.
For those of you keen eyednotice that his little dog, this
kind of like kind of reptilianlooking dog-sized monster with a

(02:36:56):
bunch of spikes on his back, isactually a miniaturized,
characterized to rise no um,it's.
It's all similarly downgunned,uh, but basically this is
vechnestal um wood.
All right, so, fizznack, Ibelieve you are the first to go
um.
You can see, like the powerrising, the glyphs around vechna

(02:37:21):
and Santa Claus begin to glowpurple.
It's like purple flame thatlicks red.
The braziers remain unlit, butyou can see Vecna has begun to
chant and it seems like he's inthe middle of some form of I
guess I'm going to try to useSlow on Vecna and his puppy.

Speaker 7 (02:37:49):
So he's going to take off one of his baubles again,
bite the bottom off of it andjust whip it as best he can.
If I have to move closer to getto that, I'll do that.
But the range for Slow is 120feet.

Speaker 4 (02:38:04):
Yeah, within that range he, he's 115, so just
inside that bubble a wisdom saveof 23 oh yes, that's such a
let's go.
He's got good wisdom that onewill not do it, although he's
going to burn a legendaryresistance you can see how he
pulls for a second it's like oh,your petty magics will not take

(02:38:27):
hold your fake fat, stupidsanta's magic is nothing to me,
uh, and I'll roll for thetarrasque.
Similarly bad roll um I.
The tarrasque does not have anylegendary because he's a little
down gunned um he's.
He's also just like puppy-sized, so I'll lock.

(02:38:47):
That works, Uh.
And then what are the effectsof slow, Uh, slow?

Speaker 7 (02:38:52):
Yeah, it's.
Uh, you get a negative two toyour AC, uh, dexterity saving
throws, Uh, a negative two toyour AC and dexterity saving
throws are negative 2 to your ACand dexterity saving throws and
you can't use reactions.
On its turn, it can use eitheran action or a bonus action, not
both.
Regardless of the creature'sabilities, magic items, it can't

(02:39:15):
make more than one melee attackor ranged attack during its
turn.

Speaker 4 (02:39:19):
Honestly very good on this turn.
Yeah, after your turn, vecna isa little angy, so I also want
to inspire Kael oh perfect myboy action actually won't be

(02:39:40):
able to use anything.
I think that range is yeah.

Speaker 7 (02:39:41):
So he's like I could do something and then realizes
y'all are way.

Speaker 4 (02:39:42):
Oh, actually I won't be able to use anything.
Yeah, it's 60.
I think that range is 60.
Yeah, so he's like I could dosomething and then realizes
y'all are way too far away forhim to be able to actually
reasonably do anything.
So legendary, he doesn't takethe legendary action All right
Valid.
I believe that is your turn.
All right, so that is KO right, yeah, yeah.
The images are very small.

(02:40:04):
Oh, okay, oh you're good Sorry.

Speaker 2 (02:40:06):
I did have a question .
Like I said earlier, I don'tplay rangers very often, so I
have two abilities here.
The first is it lets me,whenever I take an attack action
, I can attack twice whenever Itake an attack action on my turn
, so that's just an extra attack.

Speaker 4 (02:40:25):
But I also have.
Which kind of ranger is it?
Is it the Gloomstalker?

Speaker 2 (02:40:29):
Yeah, it's a Gloomstalker.

Speaker 4 (02:40:34):
Ah yeah, you get that additional attack on the first
round.

Speaker 2 (02:40:36):
Yep, but I also have Dread Ambusher, which at the
start of my first turn of eachcombat my walking speed is
increased by 10.
If I take an attack action onthat turn, I can make one
additional weapon attack as partof that action.
So between those two abilities,do I get three attacks for the
first turn?

Speaker 4 (02:40:53):
Yes, I love the first one.

Speaker 2 (02:40:54):
It's so good, all right All right, so good that
first round.

Speaker 8 (02:40:58):
And that extra one also does an extra D8 of damage
extra one also does an extra d8of damage.
I think it's force damage.

Speaker 2 (02:41:03):
Okay, and I have my Oathbow, which deals.
I've marked him as my swornenemy, so I get an extra 3d6
against him, alright.
So yeah, I'm gonna take myOathbow out and I'm gonna say
something real like dorky, likeuh, uh, let's end this Falala,

(02:41:24):
far, farce.
And uh, I'm gonna startshooting my bow at him as I'm
slowly walking towards him.
So three shots, right.
So first one is a 19, second isa nat 20 for 31 and the third
one is a 20 not natural actuallyhe does have access to shield.

Speaker 4 (02:41:49):
Uh, he's going to use shield as a reaction, bringing
his ac up to 22, so I believeonly the nat 20 is going to hit
right only the second one yep, only the second one yet so
that's 3d6.

Speaker 2 (02:42:05):
Do you do anything special with nat 20s for attacks
?

Speaker 4 (02:42:08):
oh yeah, double damage double damage.

Speaker 2 (02:42:10):
Nice alright.
So my original 1d 1d8 plus 4 isa 11 and then 3d6 on top of
that is a 14.
That brings it to 25, so 50damage 50 damage.

Speaker 4 (02:42:28):
This is a significant hit.
You get like this.

Speaker 3 (02:42:32):
Okay, was it just me.

Speaker 2 (02:42:34):
No.

Speaker 8 (02:42:35):
It's not.

Speaker 7 (02:42:36):
We lost him, Ryan no, no On a cliffhanger.

Speaker 3 (02:42:42):
How much damage did you do?

Speaker 2 (02:42:44):
Only one of three attacks hit because I used
shield, so I only did 50 damage.
I would have done a lot more.
This oath sworn bow is kind ofridiculous.

Speaker 8 (02:42:54):
So if you want, right now, while we're waiting, click
on your token in roll 20, andclick the gear and you can add
your your name and then it willpop up on the left in the
initiative tracker so that youcan actually see who's going
when.

Speaker 2 (02:43:12):
He's restarting.
He'll be back, alright, thanksfor locking us down, andrew.

Speaker 8 (02:43:18):
My pleasure yeah thanks for including me.

Speaker 7 (02:43:20):
This was a lot of fun .

Speaker 2 (02:43:22):
Yeah, I don't think I can be a DMF to this guy.
He's much better than I am.
He's a professional, justdifferent.

Speaker 3 (02:43:29):
Just different oh man you say he's a professional
yeah, he gets paid to do thisshit oh yeah, no, I follow him
on Instagram.

Speaker 7 (02:43:38):
When Andrew sent me the thing, I was like, oh snap,
a D&D story is great.
That's why I did fan arts forit.
When Andrew sent me the thing,I was like, oh snap, a D&D story
is great.
That's why I did fan arts forit.
Hey, he's back Now.
I do more 3D stuff.
Now I got to make more coolstuff for the show.

Speaker 2 (02:43:57):
Hell yeah, hey Ryan.

Speaker 4 (02:43:59):
No longer wanting to play nice, all right.
So where did I drop out fory'all?

Speaker 3 (02:44:05):
because I probably didn't notice yeah, he said that
he did 50 damage yeah, 50damage you said is a significant
hit.

Speaker 4 (02:44:12):
And then that's when you froze like this significant
hit and like the arrow, almostlike passes.
And then you can see this burstof energy coming from the arrow
, you know the empowered by theoath bow, and maybe just
something a little extra.
You are pissed off.
This guy is lying to you andthat fury you know top bringing
up your parents.
Like that.

(02:44:32):
This hit just like you see acouple of arrows bounce off this
magical shield you can see, like of the purplish robes that
he's got, like a big chunk of itjust kind of explodes off and
revealing a emaciated and grayform beneath barely more than a
skeleton.
And then you said you were alsogoing to be like moving,

(02:44:52):
walking forward while you'rehappening.
So wherever you want to putyourself feel free.

Speaker 2 (02:44:58):
So I've got 45 feet of movement plus the 10 excuse
me, 55.
I'm going to move myself overto here.
So I've got 45 feet of movementplus the 10.
Excuse me, 55.
I'm going to move myself overto here.

Speaker 3 (02:45:10):
Valon is now here, all right, so Valon will start
walking forward as well.
Oh, I can't do anything.
I can't move my.
Oh, there we go.
So are these five-foot blocks?

Speaker 2 (02:45:23):
Yes, they should be at least there is also a ruler
Bill.

Speaker 3 (02:45:27):
How do I get rid of these things?
Hold on, sorry, my screen's off.
Everybody's little pictures areall over, right in the way.

Speaker 8 (02:45:37):
Oh, if you hit the, you got it.

Speaker 3 (02:45:40):
Yeah, I just slung them out of the way.
All right, so she will startwalking forward and then, as
she's walking forward, who didyou shoot?

Speaker 2 (02:45:48):
Vecna, the main boy.

Speaker 3 (02:45:54):
Okay, so I am.
So.
Valen will use as she startswalking forward.
She's still not within Where'sthe ruler.
Vaylin will use as she startswalking forward.
She's still not within Where'sthe ruler.
Okay, she's still not within 30feet.
She is going to use her sorcerypoints and quicken a spell as

(02:46:17):
she's walking forward.
She will cast Eldritch Blast atVecna.
Right.
And so Sorcery Points.
Using it for Quicket Spellturns it into a bonus action
instead of an action, and shewill cast her Eldritch Blast at

(02:46:42):
Vecna.
Ooh, I've got shield up so AC'sa little higher than normal, but
actually, disregard, she's notgonna do that, she's gonna do
something else first.
So as she's walking forward, she's she's not gonna use her
quick as well, she's gonna useher bonus action as a where'd it
go?
Her sorcerer, innate sorcery,um.

(02:47:05):
So she's gonna enable herinnate sorcery, which, uh, gives
her all of the spells, save dcsare increased by one.
Plus she has advantage onattack rolls for sorcery,
sorcerer spells she cast.
So she is going to cast Well, she's still going to cast
Eldritch Blast Because, but asjust a regular, her normal

(02:47:29):
action.
So her bonus action is going tobe turning on the innate
sorcery and then her normalaction is going to be casting
Eldritch Blast.
You said he's got a shield on.

Speaker 4 (02:47:41):
He casts shield as a reaction to the arrow, so his AC
is a little higher than normal.
He can still roll the attacksand I think he's at 3 at your
level for Eldritch Blast.

Speaker 3 (02:47:50):
No, because she's only a level 3 Warlock.

Speaker 4 (02:47:56):
Well, for that, for Cantrips, it's full level.
Whatever your full level.

Speaker 2 (02:48:00):
Oh really.

Speaker 4 (02:48:01):
Oh For invocations.
For different invocations, likefor for different invocations,
you have to hit that warlocklevel to actually be able to
access them.
But if you take a cantrip aslike a, like a magic, magic
initiate, and you're a warrioror whatever and you're level 20,
it does the full damage.

Speaker 3 (02:48:16):
Wow, all right, so it will be three of them.
So that's kind of cool, and soshe will cast.
So is it three separate attackrolls or one attack roll for all
three?

Speaker 4 (02:48:35):
If you want to do it for expediency sake and risk it
for the biscuit, you can do onefor all three.
But rules as written it's.
You do an individual attackroll for each one.

Speaker 3 (02:48:42):
Okay, I'll do each one that that's fine and they're
all at advantage, or nope, they're not disregard, they're
not, because they're not sorcery.
Sorcerer spells, that's a miss.
Uh, 15, a natural one and a 17.

Speaker 4 (02:49:01):
and a 17.
Basically, it's almost likestreams of water that just kind
of like hitting the outside of acar as they just stream over
the shield.

Speaker 5 (02:49:11):
That pitiful bargained magic is nothing for
hundreds in comparison forhundreds of lifetimes of
learning.
Know your place in comparisonfor hundreds of lifetimes of
learning.
Node your place Um.

Speaker 4 (02:49:28):
can he do anything?
Yet?
No, he cannot.
He has no cantrip to offer thatrange necessary.

Speaker 2 (02:49:35):
I see your ruler.
I'm not coming any closer toyou, alright.

Speaker 4 (02:49:41):
Reuven, it is now your turn.

Speaker 8 (02:49:43):
Alright, uh, reuven, it is now your turn.
All right, reuven comescharging in based off the insult
that his god is not a god as hepasses by Velen, he is going to
tap his longsword is what youhave, yes and cast on it 5th

(02:50:09):
level holy weapon.
Put that one in there and then,as his action that one's a
bonus action he is going to pullout this, this kind of
cornucopia shaped horn that'sdecorated with peppermints and
gumdrops.
This kind of cornucopia shapedhorn that's decorated with
peppermints and gumdrops andcandy canes and snowcaps, if you

(02:50:29):
like, the snowcaps.
And he is going to blow intohis horn of fa la, la, la, la,
la la la, also known as horn ofValhalla oh, I was going to say
is it horn of blasting?

Speaker 4 (02:50:43):
no, and he is going to say, is Horn of Blasting?

Speaker 8 (02:50:44):
No, and he is going to summon 4d4 plus 4 Warrior
Spirits.

Speaker 4 (02:50:50):
I'm going to get something suitably for
token-wise that you can use Alot of.
With that many potential littlebeans around, it could get
difficult.

Speaker 8 (02:50:58):
Yeah, so I rolled poorly so I'm updating my
spreadsheet.
I only got 11 of them out of apossible 20.

Speaker 7 (02:51:06):
I thought it said 4.

Speaker 8 (02:51:08):
It's so much worse than I thought it was and so
what everyone else is going tosee is 11 dwarves, humans, elves
, just kind of a mix of all ofthem, mall Santas just apparate
around Vecna in his tarrasque, and so they're just these, you

(02:51:34):
know disgruntled, looking kindof late 30s guys, reek of
cigarette, smoke, kind ofquestion what they do with their
lives just surrounding Vecna.
And then do I need to rollinitiative for them?
I figure we do it as a group,or we'll do them on your turn.

Speaker 4 (02:51:56):
Does it say if they act on this turn or if that
becomes, or is it like next turn?
Does it say they have actionsthis turn?

Speaker 8 (02:52:02):
No, it just says statistics of a berserker return
to Valhalla after one hour whenthey drop to zero hit points.
I can't use the horn again forseven days and they are friendly
to me.

Speaker 4 (02:52:15):
Would you mind, just so you can handle the sheets for
the berserker, since you're theonly one doing the rolls and
stuff do you have access to thatin any way, shape or form?

Speaker 8 (02:52:25):
Yeah, I've got the access to the sheet and actually
, in preparation, built aspreadsheet so that we're not
going to wait for me to roll 11sets of dice with advantage.

Speaker 4 (02:52:35):
Alright gotcha, gotcha, gotcha Good.
But yeah, depending, so I'mgoing to assume they can take
actions If you blow the hornwithout having proficiency with
all medium, do you have?

Speaker 8 (02:52:48):
I have proficiency with all weapons and armor Dang
that would be such a cool turnAlright.

Speaker 4 (02:52:59):
Oh crap, I did so.
I was like I wanted too manymonsters on the field.

Speaker 8 (02:53:07):
I'll keep it to one minion I, I was actually a whole
battalion.
It looks like only the first 10will be able to attack um,
because they don't only reachfirst 10.
just let me uh, let me know howmany are attacking whom and what
the attack rolls.
Okay, so we'll do five on Vecnaand five on the Tarrasque Yep,

(02:53:31):
and I'll go through a number ofthem when I'm done.
They're all going to attackrecklessly, and so the attack
rolls are 10, 24.
24 will hit, that's for 6damage 25.
That'll hit, that's 8 damage 15, 24.

Speaker 4 (02:53:56):
These are all for Vecna first.

Speaker 8 (02:53:58):
Yeah, that's 7 damage .
All right, those 5 are Vecna.
And then on the Tarrasque, 19?
Nope, okay, the 18s are goingto miss 24.
24 will hit.
Alright, that's four damage, and then everything else is 19
or less Nice.

Speaker 4 (02:54:20):
Don't worry, I'll go in and I'll start numbering them
.
I got them colored too, so thatwould make it easier to be like
oh, I want orange, guy pink.
Such a wild turn.
Alright, they're all colorcoded now anything else?
Is that all you got on yourturn?

Speaker 8 (02:54:36):
that's everything.

Speaker 4 (02:54:37):
I have alright.
Well, at the end of your turn, before it is actually Vecna's
turn, he finally gets to use alegendary action so cool of your
turn, before it is actuallyVekta's turn, he finally gets to
use a legendary action so coolTo make this also a really long
time.
He is going to use all threelegendary actions and use,

(02:55:00):
disrupt life.
Each non-undead creature within20 feet of the lich must make a
DC.
Holy shit, I believe it's allthe Maul Santas.
This one's safe, I think thisMaul Santa over here, all these
ones, they need to makeconstitutions.

Speaker 2 (02:55:18):
Is that enemies only or all living things?

Speaker 4 (02:55:22):
All living things.

Speaker 1 (02:55:23):
You can tell that he's moving the magic in such a
way, only or all living things.
I think it's all living things, all living things.

Speaker 4 (02:55:26):
He's like moving the magic in such a way that it
doesn't seem to be directlyaffecting Xanny.
I also need a roll.

Speaker 3 (02:55:34):
What about his Tarrasque as well?

Speaker 4 (02:55:36):
Tarrasque seems to be an undead of Tarrasque.

Speaker 8 (02:55:39):
Oh shit.
Alright.
So the ones that pass you saidit was the DC 18?
.
Oh shit, alright.
So the ones that pass you saidit was the DC-18?
.

Speaker 4 (02:55:48):
DC-18 was Constitution Saving Throw.

Speaker 8 (02:55:53):
Yep.
So green-orange will passPurple will pass Green and blue
separately, or sorry, no, blueand red pass separately, they
pass holy.

Speaker 4 (02:56:09):
So, uh, if they take, they take eight points of
damage, because that wasactually kind of a crummy roll,
uh, since they pass buteverybody else takes six.
Okay, I'm writing them down.
So many many things to manage.

Speaker 8 (02:56:22):
Yep, that's why I built a spreadsheet.

Speaker 4 (02:56:25):
Yeah, that's honestly a great idea, such a good idea.
It is now the Lich Propper'sturn.
Just a little bit Feeling alittle bit naughty, feeling a
little bit angry.
Definitely wants to take someaim.
I gotta get my ruler out andsee what the distance is.
Oh, there's a ruler, alright,so oh, I can't get you.

(02:56:48):
So in a point between, likeright here, a thick, mean smoke
up outward, I need both of youto make constitution saving
throw I think it's Vallin andKayle throws as Cloud Kill.

Speaker 2 (02:57:06):
Oh, I don't like that .
Constitution saving throws Okay.

Speaker 4 (02:57:10):
Plus 5.
And the DC is going to be an 18.

Speaker 2 (02:57:12):
17 plus 5 is 22.

Speaker 4 (02:57:16):
26.
You both pass.
You take half damage.
You're both going to take halfof 19.
It's just 9 points a day.
Love a cloud kill.
It does remain, though, um, soit is going to last.
I can't use that, um.
Oh well, actually there's onething that does happen.
You notice that this brazier infront of him lights um, and you

(02:57:38):
can see santa like screams outin agony.
Oh, you can't use cloud kill, because cloud kill is actually.
That's my bad.

Speaker 2 (02:57:48):
Take the damage away.

Speaker 4 (02:57:50):
Yeah, take the damage away.
Sorry about that I forgot toconcentrate on something
mysterious.
He'll just cast a fireball.
Then you can use your samerolls for the resistance because
you both pass.
That seems fair and I'll justroll 8d6 and then you'll take
half of that.
He pops you with a 5.

Speaker 3 (02:58:09):
Oh, hold on a second Go ahead.
Hold on one second.
Hold.
Counterspell oh, yep, I am,it's 60.
You're correct?

Speaker 4 (02:58:23):
Yeah, so instead of taking half of 19, you take half
of 28.
So it's going to be 14 pointsof damage to each of you, but
there is no continual effect.
That'll be the entire time.

Speaker 2 (02:58:36):
That's worse.

Speaker 4 (02:58:39):
Slightly worse, slightly worse, Well I would
have been able to poison you atleast another.
It would have stuck around fora while.
I would have been able topoison you at least another.
It would have stuck around fora while, and I could have been
harassing you with it for a bit.

Speaker 3 (02:58:48):
How much did you say total?

Speaker 4 (02:58:49):
14?
Because you saved 14 points.
Sorry about the confusion.
That's the Lich's turn.
It's the mini Tarrasque's turn.
It can only attack once, soit's going to attack the blue.
It's going to attack the blue.
It is going to go for a bite.
It has plus 19 to hit, so it'sprobably going to do it.

Speaker 2 (02:59:10):
It hits.
It hits.
It hits.

Speaker 4 (02:59:14):
Plus 19.
It's going to do 30 piercingdamage.
Holy crap.

Speaker 8 (02:59:21):
Alright, blue's looking a little rough.

Speaker 4 (02:59:25):
It basically bites on the leg and just immediately
starts to rip on it.
Yeah, it's got.
It's miniaturized in hit pointsand it doesn't have legendary
actions or legendary resistances, but for the most part it
remains unchanged From regularTarrasques, oh man, these teacup
Tarrasques.
They get worse every year Afterthe Tarrasques turn V, get
worse every year After theTarrasque's turn.

(02:59:45):
Vekna is going to use alegendary action, seeing that
you are finally going to beright.

Speaker 5 (02:59:52):
Yeah totally.

Speaker 4 (02:59:53):
He's going to cast a cantrip.
He's going to cast Ray of Frostat you.
Does a 23 hit?
It hits For 19 cold damage.
Most of the time the rays offrost you've seen are pretty
meager measured.
This one is like a cannonhitting you in the chest,
covering you in frost, and younow move.

Speaker 8 (03:00:15):
I think you're moving .
I'm down to 60 feet from mymovement speed.

Speaker 4 (03:00:18):
Just a paltry 60 feet until the start of your next
turn, so I do have a question.

Speaker 8 (03:00:25):
Uh, I'm wearing a saddle of the cavalier which
says that the attacks againstthe mount are at disadvantage.
Does that apply to me if I'mnot currently a mount?

Speaker 4 (03:00:36):
you're currently not like you are.
You're you, you are the things.
I don't think that counts.
Okay, and also, and also, in mydefense too, I rolled a 23 and
a 23 on the attack, so okay, yeah, the same um, yeah, so
that's one legendary action down.
Uh, it is now fizz.
Next turn.
Some stuff is going down.

(03:00:56):
Uh, fireball popping off overhere, a huge like.
You just saw vekna kind oferupt in necrotic energy,
sapping the strength of all ofthese berserkers around him, and
you saw a brazier light and youcan see that like something is
happening to Santa, that whenthat brazier lit there was a
direct one-to-one connection toSanta, like beginning to scream

(03:01:20):
oh man.

Speaker 7 (03:01:22):
No bueno, no bueno, no bueno, no bueno, no bueno.
Well, I gotta see how far awayI am from the good stuffs.
Oh, sorry, sorry.
I think I should be good to usecantrip or two, but I have slow
up on the Tarrasque.
I want to keep that going andthen I'm going to pop off.

(03:01:46):
Was that the story?
No, it's 60 feet.
Firebolt at Vecna.
Firebolt at Vecna.
Go ahead and roll your attack.

Speaker 6 (03:01:56):
It's a 26 to hit 26 is going to hit Nice, nice, nice
.

Speaker 7 (03:02:03):
Or 19 fire damage, nice, nice.
Or 19 fire damage.
Nice.
Not nice actually.
No, I wanted to fail.

Speaker 4 (03:02:09):
You can see that he takes it and he immediately
continues to keep chanting.
You can see his lips are moving.
But a big portion of him puffsup in smoke and turns to ash.
Cool, cool All right, I thinkthat's gonna be movement action.

Speaker 7 (03:02:24):
Cool, cool.
Alright, I'm gonna.
I think that's gonna bemovement action.
Yeah, that's it.
I'm gonna save my bonus action,or I'll save my inspiration
points and stuff like that.
That'll be my turn then.

Speaker 4 (03:02:34):
Kale.

Speaker 2 (03:02:35):
Alright, with all of these faux Santa Clauses around
him, do I have a clear shot toVecna?

Speaker 4 (03:02:44):
Yeah, I mean like you don't have to worry about them
getting in the way, like Vecna'spretty tall.
We'll say that they're allgnomes or something like that.
Gnome store Santa.
So you don't gotta worry,you're level 15.
You don't gotta worry aboutlike you can weave through a
tarp.

Speaker 2 (03:02:58):
Okay, then I'm gonna take a double shot with my
Oathbow at Vecna.
First one is 15 plus 11 for a26.
And then a 1 plus 11 for a 12.

Speaker 4 (03:03:12):
12's not going to do it, unfortunately, but that one
will hit.

Speaker 2 (03:03:14):
All right, so roll this.
That's 8 plus 3d6 for 23 pointsof damage.

Speaker 4 (03:03:24):
Pretty solid hit Again.
This kind of pierces throughlike paper and then again
another portion of him goes asthe Oathbow energy surges
through, rolling.
Very well for these concepts ithelps that he has a plus 10 to
Connor.
It helps being undead sometimes, but the damage hits and he's

(03:03:45):
like he's taken someconsiderable hits.
So far he's not looking like.
He wasn't looking perfect whenhe came in the room.
He had tussled with Santa Claus, but he is looking not rough,
but like he's taking these hits.
He's feeling.

Speaker 2 (03:04:00):
Okay, is this area up here elevated?

Speaker 4 (03:04:05):
Yeah, these areas are elevated.
We'll say that there's like a30-foot rise or something like
that up there.

Speaker 2 (03:04:11):
Okay, Between the levels.
I realize I just drew and Idon't know how to erase that.

Speaker 4 (03:04:17):
Yeah, it's no big deal, All right, valid it is now
.

Speaker 2 (03:04:21):
Well, after Kale's turn.
I'm going to use my Raven Queenand teleport up to here.

Speaker 5 (03:04:30):
Gotcha.

Speaker 2 (03:04:31):
So I have an aerial view of everything, perfect.

Speaker 4 (03:04:35):
Do your worst, just checking some distances.

Speaker 7 (03:04:38):
I ain't scared.

Speaker 4 (03:04:38):
Seeing that you are now approaching and pretty close
to him.
Legendary action going toRayafrost you Okay.

Speaker 5 (03:04:48):
It's stupid mortals, you'll never, understand what it
means to be on the naughty listfor so long.

Speaker 4 (03:04:57):
Rayafrost does a 19 hit.

Speaker 2 (03:05:00):
It does hit.
What kind of damage is that?
It's going to be cold, justcold, okay.
It's cold, all right, it doeshit.
What kind of damage is that?
It's going to be cold, justcold, okay.
21 points of cold damage.
Back down to 100 HP.

Speaker 8 (03:05:13):
But with your Blessing you resist all damage
until the start of your nextturn.
Blessing of the Raven Queen.
Oh, you're right.

Speaker 2 (03:05:22):
So you just take 10.
10 points of damage.
Thank you for right.
So you just take 10.
10 points of damage.
Thank you for that.

Speaker 4 (03:05:25):
Your movement for your next turn is slow.

Speaker 2 (03:05:28):
I'm going to be honest with you here, Ryan.

Speaker 6 (03:05:32):
I'm not going to move next turn, you know what.
Fair enough.

Speaker 4 (03:05:37):
Fair enough, all right, sorry, valen, it is now
your turn.
I just got to pop off some ofthese legendary actions while I
can remember.
Sorry, valen, it is now yourturn.
I just got to pop off some ofthese legendary actions while I
can remember.

Speaker 3 (03:05:44):
Alright.
So Valen is going to useSorcery Points this time
actually, and do a Quicket Spellof Fly, okay, and she is going
to fly, since that moves herspeed up to 60.
So she's going to move overhere.

(03:06:05):
Gotcha, she doesn't care aboutthat, she's going to keep
getting closer and then we'llcast.
She'll just drop a fireball inthe middle of that whole pile.

Speaker 4 (03:06:21):
So, if you use quicken spell the only other
option you can do if you usequick and spell um, the only
other option you can do, becauseyou can only use one I was
kidding I'm.
Oh yeah, oh okay.

Speaker 3 (03:06:30):
I was just like, before we get too far on that
track no, I can only use acantrip so I know I was just
gonna drop a fireball and getrid of all those people that are
in my way so you gotta, you canfly on top of them though, yeah
, I know, but now I had to burna level three slot so I could
fly um.
And how far am I now?

(03:06:52):
You?

Speaker 4 (03:06:54):
are 45 feet away from back down too far okay, so
elders blast yeah, all right, you go ahead and roll your your.

Speaker 8 (03:07:01):
Your fly speed should be 60, though, right?

Speaker 3 (03:07:03):
yeah, I move 60.
Yeah, oh wait, I don't know.
Sorry, 26.

Speaker 4 (03:07:12):
Oh, you can't see my rolls, sorry, 24 and 22 22 will
not hit, but those first twoinvoke shield.
Okay, and just gimme themindividually 10 and 8.

Speaker 3 (03:07:31):
Wait a second nope, that's it.

Speaker 4 (03:07:36):
Anything else on your turn, uh action bonus action
movement.

Speaker 3 (03:07:41):
Nope, that's it, legendary action, seeing that
you just attacked him.

Speaker 4 (03:07:43):
Action bonus action movement nope, that's it,
Legendary action.
Seeing that you just attackedhim, ray of frost.

Speaker 3 (03:07:49):
So hold on one second before you tell me what you
rolled.
I need to read the descriptionof a spell because I can't
remember.
No worries, the 30?
, 30?
Jesus Christ yes.

Speaker 4 (03:08:04):
You're gonna take 26 points of frost or of cold
damage as again, like just acannon, shoots out of his finger
this huge swath of like whiteenergy hits your chest.
I can't counter, can I?
You can counterspell it if youwanted to.
It is a cantrip, I will.
You can counter spell it if youwanted to.

(03:08:25):
It is a cantrip.
I will say that.
So it would be very easy tocounter spell, but it is a
cantrip, so it's really up toyou.

Speaker 3 (03:08:31):
Yeah, okay, I'll just look it up.
All right, how many points?
Did you say 24?

Speaker 4 (03:08:37):
26 points.
So you shoot off a couple ofyour Eldritch Bl you know he's
able to bring up the hand justin time to block the last one
and then retort just a huge beamof frost energy towards you,
covering you, and frost slowingyou down a little bit.
Uh, your movements decreased by10 feet.

Speaker 8 (03:08:58):
Um, okay now all right, um would reven have been
able to see that, like Vecna, isconcentrating on a spell,
honestly, at this point it seemsYou're spellcaster, right, I am
.

Speaker 4 (03:09:14):
Yeah, it is so obvious.
The way that he's like he seemsto be actively speaking words,
casting a spell sometimes breaksit to like say something mean,
but like something's going onhere, uh, and there is an, there
is a spell being cast that hehas okay, um, so I'm gonna

(03:09:35):
target santa claus and I'm gonnatarget him with dispel magic
okay, so choose one choose onecreature, object or magical
effect within range.

Speaker 8 (03:09:45):
Any spell of third level or lower on the target
ends.
For each spell of fourth levelor higher I make an ability
check to see if I'm successful.
So I'm going to cast it atthird level, just not knowing
what effect is holding him.

Speaker 4 (03:09:59):
Vecna, seeing you start to do that, isn't even
going to risk it.
Counter spell back You'rewithin 60 feet.
I believe yes I am, I'm 45.
I don't think so, as a littlenegating gray beam singes your
fingers as you begin castinganything else you'd like to do
on your turn.

Speaker 8 (03:10:19):
With my bonus action, I'm going to give myself a fly
speed equal to.
Actually, it looks prettybright in here, right?

Speaker 4 (03:10:27):
it's, it's what I would say for the purposes of
you the dim lighting for yourfly.

Speaker 8 (03:10:31):
It's dim lighting okay, there's lighting going on
here.
All right, I'll give myself afly speed and I will just fly
kind of over here, cool, uh,actually, no over here for
reasons, and then for theberserker's turn five on vecna,
five on the tarrasque, let's doit all right shift f9 oh wait,

(03:10:57):
sorry, pull that with advantage, because they're all going
reckless, reckless Okay.

Speaker 4 (03:11:02):
AC is currently 23, I believe.

Speaker 8 (03:11:06):
Okay, they all miss Vecna, and then they all miss
the Tarrasque Oof and so.

Speaker 4 (03:11:14):
Because the Tarrasque is also, I believe no, Vecna's
is 22.
The Tarrasque is 23.

Speaker 8 (03:11:20):
Yeah, the highest of any of them was a 21.

Speaker 4 (03:11:24):
Just all like this, like bouncing off the chitinous
armor of the mini Tarrasque andthen bouncing off this shield
that Vecna seems to be emitting,as he's like chanting these
dark words of power.
Vecna's turn.
The next thing that immediatelyhappens on his turn Go ahead.

Speaker 8 (03:11:41):
Well, I was just going to say the yellow one is
going to pull back and leave anopening for Velen, and so I
guess Vecna can't take an attackof opportunity, because he's
already reacted withCounterspell.

Speaker 4 (03:11:55):
He has already done that.
You can see Santa Clo.

Speaker 5 (03:12:03):
He's taking my back.

Speaker 4 (03:12:07):
You can see another one of these braziers light up
and Santa is looking gaunt.
I don't like that.
And Vecna, skin and bonesbefore.
His skin is changing from asickly rotted gray, muddled
green to something a little bitmore lifelike.

(03:12:27):
There's even maybe some rednesson his nose.
It seems like this spell isgetting.
Even his purple robes arestarting to turn a little On his
turn.
First thing, he's what would bethe most fun thing to do, um.

Speaker 2 (03:12:48):
I see all these rulers just pointing out of
everybody's character, like whatcan we do to save Santa Claus?

Speaker 4 (03:12:55):
um uh, I need, uh, kale, uh, can you make a
dexterity saving throw please.
As Vecna raises a finger.

Speaker 2 (03:13:09):
You, son of a bitch.
Alright, I got a plus 10.
Not a problem, not a problem 28.

Speaker 4 (03:13:16):
28.
He was going to disintegrateyou.

Speaker 2 (03:13:19):
Yeah, I figured as much.

Speaker 4 (03:13:22):
So on a failed save target, I think if you succeed
is no like half damage.
You have to disintegrate.
Yeah, you try.
It zips past your head andbehind you it hits a pillar and
then the complete, the centerstone part of that pillar just
immediately evaporates and turnsinto.

(03:13:42):
You hear Vecna go.

Speaker 5 (03:13:46):
Oh damn, no, no, no, not me.

Speaker 2 (03:13:51):
So, as the ray passes by, I'm going to take my
ethereal left hand and give hima finger.
Oh, perfect.

Speaker 4 (03:13:59):
He has no bonus actions, so anything on the
spell list.
Yeah, he doesn't want to dipout so far, yet His turn passes
and then, as a legendary actionat the end of his own turn, he's
going to disrupt life again toall of these guys around him.

(03:14:23):
So I need Basically everybodyin the clump around him needs to
make a Constitute.
It's just too risky having allthese guys around Disrupt
potentially Disrupt What-legendary actions do?
They typically have Threearound, so the Disrupt life
costs.
Just casting a cantrip is justOkay.

Speaker 8 (03:14:43):
So Con save, I had four of them save.

Speaker 4 (03:14:47):
So they take 10, the rest take 20.
And then that's his turn.
That's his bonus action is theTarrasque turn.
It is still slowed.
Wait, who casted that?

Speaker 2 (03:14:57):
I did no, not Kale, it was.

Speaker 4 (03:15:02):
Fizzneck, you got taken any damage.
I was going to ask if you madeany con saves or concentration,
but you're good, you're good.
So it's Trastern, it's going totry and gore the blue one again
, the blue one died.
Oh, blue one's dead.
Yep, if any of them are dead, could you peel them off, either
add.
If any of them are dead, couldyou either add an.

Speaker 8 (03:15:23):
X on them or delete them.
Yeah, I'm updating the sheet.
I had to jump ahead.

Speaker 4 (03:15:27):
No rush 29 to hit.

Speaker 8 (03:15:30):
Yes, it will.
All the other ones should bestill up, we'll say just red.

Speaker 4 (03:15:36):
It hits with a 29 doing 45 points of damage and
latches on grappling Red's dead, grapples them, shakes them and
throws them off the stage andthen looks at Blue-Red.
I will say, if slow on, thisthing is diabolical.
Really doing a lot of work.
Only being able to do oneattack with this is a good move.

(03:16:00):
Fiznak, it's now your turn.

Speaker 7 (03:16:04):
Alright, I am seeing the craziness.
Still I've got to get myself upthere.
So Fiznak is doing his best tocatch up to his friends, but I
don't have a lot of movementspeed so it's slow going.
I think that was one second.

Speaker 3 (03:16:23):
It's always the frustrating thing when you start
off the fight and you're ahundred yards away.

Speaker 7 (03:16:29):
I gotta close that distance yeah, I'm still not far
enough to do what I wanted to,though I will use guiding bolt
on the Vecna, alright, that is a.
I will use Guiding Bolt on theVecna, all right.
That is a 16 to hit.

(03:16:50):
One sec.
I have a weird racial trait orsomething.
I just want to double check it.
I think I can do a 2d4 tosomething once per short rest.

Speaker 8 (03:17:04):
Yeah, favored by the gods.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 7 (03:17:09):
No, it's the Divine Soul, so it's a yeah favored by
the gods.
So I add 2d4 to the roll, soI'm going to try that.
So 8, 8 plus 16, 24.

Speaker 4 (03:17:21):
You can't shield against that, so it does hit oh
sweetness.
Alright, Do the damage Damageand that's 3d8.
Oh terrible.
What is this again?
This is.

Speaker 7 (03:17:37):
Guiding Bolt.

Speaker 4 (03:17:39):
Oh wait Hold on.

Speaker 7 (03:17:40):
Oh, I did the wrong number.

Speaker 4 (03:17:43):
What are these fixers at 66?
No, I rolled a cantrip like anidiot.
Oh, I did the wrong number.
Is it 66?

Speaker 7 (03:17:44):
No, I rolled a cantrip like an idiot.

Speaker 2 (03:17:47):
Ah, okay.

Speaker 7 (03:17:50):
It's 46.
I'm sorry, guys 15.
Hey that's much better.
That's a lot better.
And then the next attack on himgets advantage.

Speaker 3 (03:18:00):
Guiding Bolt, is that Radiant?

Speaker 7 (03:18:02):
It is.

Speaker 3 (03:18:02):
Radiant.
Does Radiant do extra damage?

Speaker 4 (03:18:07):
to undead still, it did in earlier editions, but uh,
they, it doesn't have the samestuff.
I think there is some undead, but this one, yeah.
So you, you wind up this hitand it looks like it's going to
go long.
And then you call on somepowers, your patronage, uh,
whatever that patron may be, Iguess santa claus.
Actually, you know what thatmakes it.
Santa Claus is like you can doit, and then it just kind of

(03:18:29):
bends.
Instead of going long, it'ssquare in the chest, erupting in
radiant energy, searing acrosshis chest, ruining the purple
red robes.
He's now aglow with radiantenergy, very obvious to hit and
it's going to be much easier todo all right, that was uh.

Speaker 2 (03:18:51):
Now it is okay, I have two questions.
One how is uh, how is uh uhvecna looking?

Speaker 4 (03:19:00):
he is officially like , probably entered somewhat okay
not not on his last legs, noton the ropes, but definitely
feeling it, looking rough andhow big are these, these fires,
these lanterns, what are youcalling them?
They look to be the braziersyeah they are honestly like the

(03:19:23):
size of a man.
They're like big.
Well, not size.
They're like five feet around.
That's what I was talking about.
Like the size of a man.

Speaker 2 (03:19:30):
Oh, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:19:30):
Five feet so they fit pretty big.
They're pretty squat and closeto the ground, filled with like
what looks to be holes or someform of like magic material
that's becoming a light sopretty heavy looking.
Pretty magic material that'sbecoming a light so pretty heavy
looking Pretty heavy.

Speaker 2 (03:19:44):
They're not as insane , all right.
So Kale is going to take twoshots with his oath bow For it.
Do you worst?
Do I have advantage on these?

Speaker 4 (03:19:57):
You'll have advantage at least on the first one.

Speaker 2 (03:19:59):
Okay, so I'm going to roll the first one with
advantage.
Roll.
That gives me a.
Oh good thing thing I hadadvantage.
First one was a one a 24.

Speaker 4 (03:20:09):
nice 44 is going to hit regardless of shield, so and
then the second one, a 26.

Speaker 2 (03:20:17):
Both of them all right.
First one 1d8 plus four, that's12 plus 4, that's 12, plus 14,
so that's 26 points of damagefor the first one.

Speaker 4 (03:20:28):
Significant hit Again rips into the left side, erupts
in this energy, the vengeanceenergy.
Looking rough, I'm going toroll.

Speaker 2 (03:20:36):
Second one is 7 points of damage for the first,
and then 3d6 gives me additional17, so 24 points of damage he's
officially entered like allright, and then I'm going to use
my winged boots to fly over toin front of this, this dude, and

(03:20:57):
use my bonus action to doblurry of flows on them blurry
of flows, flurry of Flows on him.
Blurry of Flows, flurry ofFlows.

Speaker 7 (03:21:05):
Brandon, you are also still inspired with the Bardic
Inspiration which you can add toattack rolls and stuff.

Speaker 4 (03:21:13):
Nice, okay, go ahead, and it's two attacks, two with
the fist, yes, yep.

Speaker 2 (03:21:21):
First one.
He's flanked by the way wayokay, so I'm glad because the
first one is only a 16, so thatis a 19, all right.
And then second one, a 24 24 isgonna hit.

Speaker 4 (03:21:36):
The first one like dense the shield a little bit.
Next one pierces through, punching him in the chest.
Uh, go ahead and roll yourdamage.

Speaker 2 (03:21:44):
And I'm going to add, I'm going to add my Bardic
Inspiration to my attack or mydamage.
That's a d10.
Alright, so 1d8 plus 4 is onlya 9.
And then plus a d10 is 8.
So an additional 8, so that is17.

Speaker 4 (03:22:07):
Roll this con save.
It's getting close to his turnagain.
And did he get?

Speaker 2 (03:22:12):
it.

Speaker 4 (03:22:13):
He rolled a d10.
He's supposed to get half or 10, whatever is higher.

Speaker 2 (03:22:17):
Okay, and Kale's gonna look over his shoulders
and just yell really loudly Well, what if you do something?
Whoa, whoa.

Speaker 4 (03:22:31):
As you can see, some of the more of the it's
transferred into Vecna Kaelin.
It is now your turn.
Things are looking a littlebleak right now.
Like, don't be wrong, vecnalooks very rough, but he is very
, very close to completing thisspell.
Like the lights in this roomare beginning to flicker.
Like the runes on the floor arebeginning to singe and turn

(03:22:52):
white hot.
These braziers are like there'sone unlit but the other two are
still Valen.
It's your turn.

Speaker 3 (03:23:00):
All right, so Valen's still flying.
Alan, it's your turn.
All right, so Valen's stillflying and she's going to have
to use her ability of flying toeffectively stand above Vecna or
above my team so that I canattack Vecna and the bonus
action she's going to cast yeah, she's going to cast um her hex

(03:23:27):
blades, curse on vecta, sobasically, get a plus five
damage rolls and crits on 19sand 20s and then in.
Then her normal action will bea.

(03:23:48):
I never know if I should getadvantage, so okay.
So here's my conundrum.
So, depending on how you readthe rules rules as written or
whatever booming blade if youuse Booming Blade as an action,
you can't use it, you can't takeyour second attack action, but

(03:24:13):
with Booming Blade I get.
If I attack with Booming Blade,I get advantage right now
because it's a sorcery spell.

Speaker 4 (03:24:20):
I will say he's flanked right now, surrounded by
opponents.
You would have advantage onyour attack regard.

Speaker 3 (03:24:28):
Okay, so Valen will attack with a normal attack
action and attack Vecna with hernormal sword Max, as you slice
towards who's looking very muchlike Santa Claus right now.

Speaker 4 (03:24:43):
Sorry, I didn't do advantage.
So as you slice towards.
He's looking very much likeSanta Claus right now.

Speaker 3 (03:24:46):
Sorry, I didn't do advantage, so alright, 29 and 24
.
24.

Speaker 4 (03:24:54):
I believe both of those are going to hit, so we're
going to roll damage.
He's looking pretty rough.
You might be able to breakconcentration.
He's giving each attackindividually.

Speaker 3 (03:25:04):
So 16 and 15 on the second hit not looking good.

Speaker 4 (03:25:10):
Um, he was like a one that almost, almost almost he
rolled it too okay.

Speaker 3 (03:25:19):
And then two extra things that she gets to do.
I gotta find it.
Try the first one.
She will use her.
Where is it there?
It is.
So she's going to use a fourthlevel spell slot and activate

(03:25:40):
her Divine Smite?

Speaker 2 (03:25:41):
Oh, which is 5d8, and activate her Divine.

Speaker 3 (03:25:43):
Smite, oh, which is 5d8 of 5d8 of Radiant.

Speaker 4 (03:25:53):
Is that counting the extra that you would get for no,
Okay yeah, and it's 6d8.

Speaker 8 (03:26:00):
Also, did you roll the damage for the holy weapon?

Speaker 5 (03:26:04):
No.

Speaker 4 (03:26:08):
Put all that together , we'll roll it.

Speaker 3 (03:26:11):
So that's an extra 6.

Speaker 8 (03:26:16):
How much is the?

Speaker 4 (03:26:17):
holy weapon 2d8.
So that'd be both of theattacks hit.
So yeah, your sword kind ofshatters through Vkna's shields,
cutting off huge pieces of hisstupid purple red cloak, and
then on that last hit, youcharge up some um, still like
caught in his chest.
You kind of like pulse it withenergy.
What's what's?

Speaker 3 (03:26:38):
39 points of damage.

Speaker 4 (03:26:41):
Would you like to do this?

Speaker 3 (03:26:43):
Ugh.
So Velen, in a low voice, willlook at Vecna and say I told you
I'm here for vengeance.
And the sword.

Speaker 4 (03:26:59):
As she thrusts the sword into Vecna, it explodes
with light burning vecta fromthe inside out it's kind of
explodes in a puff of uh, um thetour and then you feel like
almost like a gift.

(03:27:19):
Um, a purple blast, like a waveof energy erupts from his chest
as he disincorporates and youcan hear what sounds like
hundreds, thousands of undeadcollapsing like a cacophony of
wet bags of sand falling on theground.
You see the Tarrasque next tohim basically disassemble and

(03:27:42):
basically become whateffectively a Tarrasque skeleton
.
The braziers snuff out.
The runes all around you nowlose all of their potence, just
becoming black smears on thisfloor.
The rosiness comes back toSanta Claus's cheeks.

(03:28:03):
He doesn't look as gaunt as hewere.
His stomach kind of erupts ingirth.

Speaker 5 (03:28:11):
So much better.
I know you can do it.
You got him.
You got him.
He was trying to take my joband you stopped him and you're
on the good list, nice list, forever.
You did it.
It.
Get me down, please.
This has been the longest.

(03:28:31):
I still have so many presentsto give.
It's still Christmas Eve goahead.

Speaker 2 (03:28:41):
Fizz neck, it sounds like you're up on this one,
brother.

Speaker 7 (03:28:46):
He like clicks his heels together to get the wing
boots to start going and he justflies up in the air and starts
like trying to undo everything, get Santa down as like safe as
he can.

Speaker 4 (03:28:55):
Yeah, you, untie Santa.

Speaker 5 (03:28:59):
He kind of very nimbly kind of like does a
little cartwheel and then landson his feet and kind of like
does a little as he lands a,does a little cartwheel and then
lands on his feet and kind oflike, does a little as he lands,
um, a little little pose as helands, oh, oh, oh fizz snack.
I knew I was right in trustingyou with a portion of my power.

(03:29:20):
I knew you would do whatever ittook to protect christmas and
old saint nick and all of you.
I hope you have a little morefaith in christmas.
It's a day of giving and joyand getting gifts to children,
giving coal for another year toa stupid naughty lich um, and I
just I want to thank each andevery one of you for doing your

(03:29:41):
damnedest and helping me.
I'm just a man in heaven.
I understand I'm supposed to bea red guard or whatever.
I am just jolly old Saint Nick, you know I saw what you did to
some people you put on yournaughty list Unnecessary.
They just get cold.
We don't do extrajudicialkillings.
Oh, my little boy, kale, youdid so well.

(03:30:06):
I'm so glad A little morecheery this year, kale.
Vecna is full of lies as much assecrets.
I really only have a lot ofpower one day of the year.
I did what I could when I couldfor you, vale, and I understand
childhood's rough childhoodsare rough.
Losing parents is even tougher.

(03:30:28):
I hope I want you to realizethat you're the one that struck
down the voice of vengeance, andI feel like vengeance office
misconstrued.
Sometimes people deservevengeance.
Vecna was one.
And if, if there isn't a littlevengeance in Christmas?

Speaker 4 (03:30:44):
then it's not really Christmas, because what is cold
other than a vengeance of notgetting a good gift?
I see you got into theadventurous toy room.

Speaker 5 (03:30:53):
Feel free to keep it, you've earned it.

Speaker 4 (03:30:59):
And Kale.
He looks at the back and he'slike that sword looks, no
offense, a little naughty, butyou know bro.

Speaker 2 (03:31:09):
No, no, no, this is my sword, bro.

Speaker 5 (03:31:14):
We could become Santa Claus master All of the stuff
is here.

Speaker 4 (03:31:19):
We just need to figure out what Vecna was
chanting.
But you're a genius and sosmart you could figure.
I bet you know already.
All we have to do is murder thefat man.

Speaker 2 (03:31:29):
Derek will you just like, like, just chill bro.

Speaker 4 (03:31:34):
I guess it is Christmas.

Speaker 2 (03:31:36):
There it is.
I'll give you an extra polishthis weekend.
Oh, oh, oh.

Speaker 4 (03:31:46):
Any an extra polish this weekend?
Oh, oh, any last little bitsy'all want to do before, I guess
, at the end of this adventure, maybe going back home?
Any questions for Santa, anythings you want to do here
before?

Speaker 6 (03:32:00):
Would Santa maybe need a helper on Christmas Eve
this year to deliver thepresents?
I'm pretty fast at going up thechimneys.

Speaker 5 (03:32:12):
I think I'm going to need four helpers this year, but
actually I'm running dreadfullybehind.
I haven't even gotten.
We have hemispheres to gobefore Christmas mornin'.
Oh God, it's 3 am.
We gotta go.

Speaker 7 (03:32:33):
He loses it and just gets super excited and starts
whipping around everybody.

Speaker 5 (03:32:37):
Thanks, and I think that's a good spot.

Speaker 4 (03:32:40):
Well, you all have this, and then in the corner of
the room, malignant eye form, kind of like a single tear,
running it down, and then justbarely I'll get you next year
Santa, as you can feel the wholeground shift as this portion of

(03:33:02):
, I think, pandemonium I can'tremember if it's pandemonium or
wherever it is, wherever hiscitadel is, it kind of warps
back and everything is slightlycorrect.
I mean, there's still a lot ofdead bodies around, but things
kind of go back and you allspend the evening helping Santa
deliver toys to all the needyboys and girls and various
children of the world.

Speaker 2 (03:33:23):
Awesome job, Ryan yeah.
That was awesome, could you?
Could you do me one favor, ryan?
I'm going to do some editing, but would you mind just saying
our catchphrase?
For us, our catchphrase is it'sbeen nerdy.

Speaker 4 (03:33:37):
It's been nerdy.
Love it Awesome, awesome.
Sorry if this went a littlelong.
I planned on it like maybegoing like 10 30.
Hopefully it wasn't too much ofan issue for people.
But yeah, y'all were amazing.
This was a lot of fun.
I think you were really on iton target.
Um, if y'all want, I try to endgames with it.
Was it stars and wish?

Speaker 2 (03:33:58):
no star.

Speaker 4 (03:33:59):
You give people stars that you think they did a good
job in something and then wishesit's not so much criticism or
it's more like just politefeedback, like oh, I don't like
more opportunity to talk to someof the elves, or oh, I actually
like to fight some bees, likethat sort of thing.
Um, I honestly want to giveeverybody a star.
I think everybody did reallyfun, like did a really good job,
like character stuff was funny.
I think y'all, yes and didreally well and I think, um,

(03:34:24):
y'all work really well together.
I think, like it's very obviousthat y'all play quite a bit
because, like, if I was a littleworried because, you know,
coming in we haven't really meteach other, there wouldn't be
like chemistry.
But honestly, like I think andit was just intensely fun to
play I did not think that he wasgoing to get that close to cat,
like ending ending Santa Clausand becoming Santa Claus, like I
was like there's no way they'renot going to break

(03:34:45):
concentration or stress, right.
I was like he's just got a plus10 to kind of I was like, oh
wait, like they basically, andthen every time y'all rolled
like high to hit, he was gettinglike a 30.
Like he got like there was morethan 50 points of damage and he

(03:35:07):
rolled a 29.
So it's like oh, he's clear,he's got all this stuff.
So I just want to say thank youand then I don't really have
any wishes.
I will probably one thingbecause we're recording I didn't
do it, I think some christmasmusic in the background,
probably, but it gets a littleweak.
I figured, since we'rerecording, that might be a
distraction slash.
We don't necessarily want thatin the background.

Speaker 2 (03:35:23):
So we're partnered with Syrinscape, so we take all
of our sound effects from them.
So I'll add some Christmasmusic in the post.
Edit.

Speaker 4 (03:35:31):
Nice.
I always think it was going tobe back-to-back Mariah Carey
Christmas.

Speaker 2 (03:35:36):
Just a loop.

Speaker 8 (03:35:41):
We don't want to lose listeners over this, right yeah
, we don't want to talk too.
Uh uh, listeners over thisright.

Speaker 2 (03:35:44):
Yeah, we don't want to talk too bad about Mariah
here.

Speaker 4 (03:35:48):
Yeah, um, but yeah, if y'all have any feedback or
want to give each other starsfor anything in particular, um,
feel free.
If you don't have anything,it's not a big deal.

Speaker 2 (03:35:57):
I honestly, Ryan, like your.
Uh, your storytelling is verygood.
Being able to describe thebackground is something that I
struggle with every single day.
Describing the scene that thecharacters walk into is
something that I struggle with.
I think you do a really goodjob with that.
So, DM to DM, I'm veryimpressed and I don't think I
can go back and be a DM for thisgroup after you.

(03:36:18):
I think you've broken the group.
So thanks for that.

Speaker 4 (03:36:23):
I appreciate that.

Speaker 8 (03:36:24):
That's great, thank you yeah, I really enjoyed it
and I also enjoyed how, like Idon't know, you pulled our
backstories into it, which isreally difficult in a one shot,
right, because?
You have to give you thislittle tiny blurb about who this
character is, and you pulled itin throughout the story, which
I thought was great, yeahhonestly I gotta thank y'all for
that, because it would havebeen much harder.

Speaker 4 (03:36:46):
Like, oh, I'm austin powers, I'm, I'm like pirate
from a sea of the nether realmor whatever.
Like all y'all kind of like Ilike, honestly, that's, it's
such a great move by all of you.
Weaved christmas in some wayshape or form like santa claus,
at least in your backstory, soit made it really easy to
reference it later down the line.

(03:37:06):
So I again like super big propsto everybody involved.

Speaker 2 (03:37:10):
Awesome well, I?
I'm sorry, bill, did you havesomething to say?

Speaker 3 (03:37:13):
no, I was just gonna say I I really enjoyed the
storytelling.
Everything everybody else saidit was really cool.
The interactions between andand the whole keeping the flow
going.
That's one of the harder thingsis like you'll see lulls and
stuff like that and we didn'treally have that.
I had a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (03:37:34):
Yeah, if you ever feel the urge to come be a
player.
We do community games.
Andrew runs them every coupleweeks, so you're welcome to join
us.
Or if you're looking for aplayer to join one of your games
every once in a while, feelfree to hit us up.
We would love to join trying tomore stuff.

Speaker 4 (03:37:51):
Um, I I tend to run a lot of stuff.
That's not 5e just for certainthings, but honestly, I did the
prep on this like I had anoutline for everything.
I didn't really have a tonripped for this one and I think
it still ran well.
So, yeah, I'd definitely bedown to like play and definitely
I'm trying to figure out a goodopportunity, because I think
that's one of the cost is I'vegotten more media stuff.
I play a lot less than I used.

(03:38:11):
Yeah, um, yeah, let me know, um, when you upload it and if you
post anything on socials, I'llmake sure to repost or make my
own post, add to stories allthat stuff um again, thank you
so much for doing like I know.
Like you know, it's the I thinkit's the first time I've
actually done is like you canbuy a charity game, but it's

(03:38:32):
awesome.
I really appreciate it.
Um, andrew, super duper nice.
Um, and it really, I believewas it the.
Take this one because there wastwo that I did.
With one I think it was theother one, I'd have to go back
and look one, because there wastwo that I did with one, I think
it was the other one.

Speaker 8 (03:38:44):
I'd have to go back and look, yeah, because there
was like two right next to eachother.
It was like the, the tabletopcollective or something I think
oh yeah for aaron, yeah, so no,yeah, that was.

Speaker 4 (03:38:56):
That was really awesome, that we were um, yeah,
it's, aaron is so nice and likeall that stuff that was going on
with her family and like them, but they may be losing their
homes Just super nice to be ableto like like, hey, I could like
put a game on here.
I hope it helps.
And then it kind of did so.
I really appreciate it.
It's awesome, just reallyawesome.

Speaker 7 (03:39:14):
No it was an awesome experience and I was called
Andrew does the community games.
I'm actually just a big fan oftheir show and I just jump in
their community games like awhole bunch of times but, um,
what's, and I don't know.
I don't like combat and stufflike that all that much.

Speaker 4 (03:39:27):
So like this was a fun time for me with the skill
checks and just being able to belike a goofy player yeah, I
feel like for one shots you gotlike enough time for like one,
because I think we started inmaybe a bit before 10 yeah, and
it took an hour and that wasjust.
I kept it really skimmy.
So I'm going to give them likeone minion and I'm going to give
him he's got legendary actions.

(03:39:47):
I mean the, the berserkersmaybe didn't help but honestly
it couldn't have gone anyquicker without the spreadsheet.
So, like it just combat justgets, so it takes so long.
And thanks again for having me.

Speaker 2 (03:40:02):
I really appreciate it yeah, man you're welcome to
join anytime you want yeah andthat is the conclusion of our
very special Christmas episodewith Run DMG.
