Speaker 2 (03:26):
Uh, I've been to
pittsburgh as well, and between
the two, philly wins for me I'msorry.
Speaker 6 (03:32):
Almost every
philadelphian will agree with
you on that philly has the bestlike airport as well, too,
especially with the uh, the, thewhat was it called?
The, the veteran center there,or the?
Actually it's active uso, the,the Veteran Center there,
actually it's Activities Center,the USO.
I had an overnight flight andthey literally had sleeping pods
(03:53):
for people with nice mattresses.
They took me out to dinnerwhere you could order something
from anywhere in the airport andthey'd bring it to the USO.
That's so awesome.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
I need to volunteer
there.
Shout out to them.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Yeah, we have over
13,000 downloads from
Philadelphia alone and over8,000 of those have come in the
last seven months.
We could riot over that there'senough people there, people
from Philadelphia riot over less.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
That's what I'm
saying.
That's what.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
I love about Philly.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Just wear their
hearts on their sleeves.
So open about their feelings.
For our listeners.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
I was born and raised
there.
I feel you Win or lose insports riot Doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
The Eagles won.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
There's a car getting
burnt.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
The Eagles lost.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
There's a car getting
burnt.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Damn that car fire is
going to be so cool spoken like
true millennials kids.
These days am I right, allright um, also.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Uh, we are still
looking for a social media
manager.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
We do have some
monies to throw towards that
person, so just throw it away.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
We got some money to
waste.
Yeah, we got some money towaste.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
I want you to do a
good job for us, but we do not

part of this.
We'll bring you on, maybeinclude you in an episode or two
(05:44):
.
It'd be a good time, yeah, sowhat other requirements would be
responsiveness.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
Yeah, yeah, kind of
you got it right when you say
requirement like how negotiableare we on this responsiveness?
Speaker 3 (05:59):
aspect.
I think one of the one of theproblems with me being the, the
social media guy right now isbecause, uh, I don't have the
time to be as responsive as I'dlike to be, so I also had Get a
job, you bum.
I also have an awesome ideaThanks to Brandon here.
I think we should all just getreally drunk one night and play
(06:21):
D&D Like slosh.
I'm ready.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
I'm halfway there.
Speaker 4 (06:28):

do it for us.
Speaker 6 (06:30):

don't get much done anyway.
Speaker 1 (06:33):

Speaker 6 (06:35):
Sexy ass.
Speaker 2 (06:36):

Gotta work the next day Justhammer drunk, making
inappropriate comments,everything else, You're just
describing our normal podcast.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Oh wait, yeah,
Alright.
So does anybody have anyquestions before we begin?
Otherwise, let's roll for somerecap.
What's your question?
Speaker 4 (07:00):
Justin, yeah, it's
for the listeners.
Why don't you talk to us more?
We love you.
Talk to us.
I would rather have a messagefrom you than a like To me.
I don't speak for everyone, butyou know, send us some love.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
And where would you
like for them to talk to you,
because I don't know how to dothat.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
It is posted on all
of our social media accounts.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Is that the best
place?
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Yeah, absolutely,
we're on there every night.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
I'm there right now
actually.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
I'm right there too.
Hey, you want to hang out onDiscord later?
Speaker 2 (07:33):
I don't.
I'm going to have to sleep thisoff eventually.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
All right, I want to
be able to control when the
poison comes out.
Everybody but Brandon roll forrecap.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Oh, I even have my
spreadsheet up, not my
spreadsheet.
That's the wrong thing.
This is a character sheet Waybetter.
Speaker 6 (07:55):
Man, if I'm doing
recap tonight, it's going to be
a bad night, bad night 19.
I want to roll anyway.
I just want to see, damn.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
It definitely would
have been me again.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
I rolled a fucking
two.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Yeah, it looks like
you got recaps tonight.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
Yep, I got a seven.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
I would have saved
you.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
Sorry, I tried so
referencing my notes.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
I actually took
pretty good notes last time I
got your back.
Speaker 5 (08:24):
Okay, so Nines did
the recap, or tried to do the
recap, I don't know why I wroteit that way.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yeah, I had problems.
Speaker 5 (08:33):
And so Glenn worked
on his forging abilities, monty
makes some vials of acid.
What did we actually do oh, wewent to.
So Monty and Mors were.
Oh, that's what happened.
So Monty and Mors were in oneroom, gladiator Nines were in
the other room, and overnightMors turned into Sam.
(08:56):
Yeah so when we woke up well, when everybody else woke up, sam
was the person that woke up inmower's bed and, uh, monty
calmly welcomed sam.
I don't know why I wrote itthat way, but um, sam because he
didn't try to sleep with heroh yeah, uh, sam was very
(09:20):
confused, uh, and is now awarethat she is sharing an existence
.
I'm not really sure how thatworks, but she only one of them
is present at one time and sheis now aware of that and was
kind of freaking out about thatand I don't think she believes
(09:41):
it.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Okay, oh, interesting
.
I do like hearing thatperspective, Glenn.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
Gafferly went down to
make breakfast, nines received
a present from a yeah, dude, itwas long and thick.
From the princess Thornwell,Not princess the counselor,
whatever.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
Counselor Thornwell,
Secret admirer and as a tip.
Speaker 5 (10:06):
Nines gave a yelling
prayer to the gnome, who was not
happy with that as their tip.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
You mean the male
gnome?
Speaker 5 (10:16):
Yeah, the gnome
carrier.
Yes, your tip was a shoutedprayer and Nines met Sam.
The box filled very strongly offlowers and it had a oh because
perfume javelin of misty step, and that was Brandon.
Got that from a website, abyssal bruise yes and Glenn
(10:42):
made an elaborate breakfast foreverybody and he made a dish for
sam, whose favorite food isradishes.
So he made a uh, elaborateradish dish for nines.
Did I say moores?
Speaker 2 (10:56):
I apologize yeah, sam
actually but, yeah, yeah, for
for nines, oh we interacted withSam.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
Okay, interacted with
Sam.
I don't know what that means,but wow.
Then we went to the asylum.
Bray was the gatekeeper or notthe gatekeeper, the concierge, I
don't know.
Whatever the person standing ata podium at the front, he's
also a patient.
Receptionist?
Sure, he's also a patient.
(11:24):
Dr Trantor is the doctor.
We talked to her for a while.
We walked through the cells, went into the isolation area.
There's lots of cell doors.
We were told not to tell themand apparently Glenn was the
only one that listened, which iskind of odd.
Everybody else touched thedoors.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Can I interject?
Speaker 5 (11:48):
Hey, no, this is
Glenn doing the recap.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
It's true.
Bill does the recap, as GlennWas Bray a patient.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
I do like him.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
I knew he was slow we
asked, we asked oh, I missed it
.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Go ahead, Bill.
I'll describe it afterwards.
We asked?
We asked oh, I missed it.
Go ahead, Bill.
I'll describe it afterwards.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
We walked through the
cells, went to the isolation
room.
Sam failed.
I wrote that down.
We won't talk about that Namesand images.
So Sam told us what she saw.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
I think we all
probably shared.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Yeah, there's names
and images of six cities.
Artifacts to beat them.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Yes, and I have that.
Crystals make an army.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
Wow, that's a very
abbreviated note-taking.
And then we got to the cell andthen there was drawings all
over it.
One of the drawings had anaboleth with holding a chain
that is attached to amany-tentacled monster, and
(12:55):
Glenn considered okay.
And then we talked about it andI think somebody knew about the
aboleth.
Was it Glenn?
Speaker 2 (13:04):
It was Nines right,
oh, nines, it was me.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
They told us about
the Aboleth and that they're my
notes are done.
There's no more notes.
This is me going from memorynow.
So we found out about theAboleth.
They're a chaotic creature.
They typically keep monsters aspets or servants, and we
finished up in there.
Glenn briefly consideredcleaning the room, but the DM
(13:35):
said it would take too long, sohe didn't, and then we left, and
then the other two partymembers other than Glenn decided
to caress the cell doors andgot the visions as well, and I
think we wrapped it up at theend of that we did.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Um, yeah, so justin
to go into a little bit, trantor
, uh, I think it was glenn thatasked, but uh, trantor described
that she's only got threeemployees including herself, so
she's had to start utilizingsome of the patients with more
controllable issues to managethe building.
Speaker 5 (14:14):
Oh, yeah, and I
forgot this.
The Trantor refused to let usview What's-his-name's-room.
Hold on.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
Because it was
occupied by somebody else.
Garmy.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Yep oh yeah, it was
basically, that was a dead end.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
All the evidence
would have been obscured.
There was yeah, it was thegentle way of saying there's
nothing there, it's dead.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Yeah, it was.
It wasn't that we got.
We got railroaded more or less, which I was definitely fine
with.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
I was not.
There was a bunch of signssaying don't go this way.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Yeah, no, that's what
I wanted in my life.
Speaker 5 (14:57):
And I think that's it
.
That's all I got.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
That is.
Yeah, that's a good recap, bill.
You get some inspiration.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
Thanks, I will not
use it, hey we may get into
combat.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Today I used mine.
Damn you did use yours actually.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
I feel like I should
get inspiration for that.
I'm just saying.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
My one important
addition is that I did write
down notes to what we're goingto try to do on this session,
and that is.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Go for it, guard jute
, oh okay, yeah constable jute
constable jute, guard jute maybeyou call them guard, but the.
That was actually one of theoriginal objectives.
I do have a few more detailsabout the visions, though, given
(15:43):
that Len was not really privyto them personally the way that
Nines was and specifically, andit was the same as Sam's, but
the vision showed six cities, all named, as well as an army
(16:04):
with crystals growing out ofthem.
They've been taken over in someway, and the Vision it was a
voice, I think, that informed usthat the fey-forged artifacts
will be strong enough toovercome the crystal swarm, like
the army that we saw.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
Did you say
fey-forged artifacts?
Speaker 2 (16:28):
That's exactly what I
said.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
Just making sure I
heard you.
Yeah, that's.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
That's how I heard it
and that's how I wrote it down.
I don't know if it was right,though.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
I don't remember if
it was actually right.
Oh yeah yeah, I sent it to youin your chat.
Speaker 5 (16:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (16:49):
So do we know what
the artifacts are?
I have in my notes I've got abunch of locations.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Yeah, the six
locations.
And then had we been put on theartifacts already?
Why?
Speaker 6 (16:59):
do?
I think there are three of them.
Maybe each artifact is from oneof the locations.
Maybe All you've been given isStarfallen, so the names of the
cities if you want them.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
Orgrimmar, deadpelt,
shadows, mengeron, starfallen,
misthaven and Glimmergrove.
Speaker 6 (17:18):
We've already been to
Mengeron.
Well, Monty had.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
We've also been to
one of the other ones right.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
We are going to
Deadpelt Shadows, Mangeron?
Isn't that the we?
Speaker 2 (17:29):
passed through
Orgobar.
It was on the map Orgobrar.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
We've almost been
there, but we have not.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
You've almost been
there like six times.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
A little bit slower
here.
I'll just copy it into a chat.
There's no need for me to keepthis a secret video anymore.
I believe that's fair right,brando?
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Yeah, we shared.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Yeah, the only city
you guys have been to is
Mangaron.
Speaker 6 (17:56):
Is Mangaron the dwarf
town or is it the Dark Elves?
Speaker 3 (17:59):
town?
No, it's dwarves.
Speaker 6 (18:01):
Dwarves, dwarves,
okay.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Orgrimmar, deadpelt,
shadows, mangaron, starfallen,
misthaven and Glimmergrove, andthe payforged artifacts will be
strong enough to overcome thecrystal swarm if found.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
I was thinking
Misthaven, but it was.
What was the town that we wentto, we hung out in and did the
side quests for everybody?
Speaker 4 (18:23):
In the with the
syruplings.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Was it Tangent Town?
No, off Topicville, where Mors'boyfriend is Weed.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
Hollow.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
It's funny.
Yes where Mors' boyfriend is.
Speaker 6 (18:40):
I'm very confused as
to why what you just posted in
chat is identical misspellingsincluded to what my notes say.
Did you share this previously,or something?
Speaker 4 (18:48):
Yeah, it was copied.
You got this from Brandon inyour Discord chat.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Oh, did I just
misspell something.
Speaker 6 (18:54):
Artifacts only has
one I Artificates.
Artificates B capital T.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Capital F the
Faeforged.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
Artificates hey you
guys aren't the only ones to
drink.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
Look, man spelling
goes out the window.
I missed an entire criticalepisode and I even took notes on
it.
I know when you were missingthat episode I was like damn,
you've missed a lot of good, alot of things came out really
good notes yeah, I don't know ifyou guys read those.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
While I was sharing
my screen, like I, we got to get
a collective note-taking thinggoing.
I think that might be the way Ijust got to figure out the way
I'm.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
I'm sure there are
ways obsidian is I.
Speaker 5 (19:36):
I can talk to you
about note-taking software I did
.
I crapped on a research onnote-taking stuff, so okay,
bill's got the lead on this.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
All right, I gotta
talk about it now.
Speaker 5 (19:44):
Let's continue with
the episode okay, yeah, you
there's stuff.
Okay, Bill's got the lead onthis.
I gotta talk about it now.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Let's continue with
the episode.
Speaker 5 (19:50):
There's a lot of
restraint on my part to stop.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
I appreciate it.
Well done, Bill Alright, soyou've all just been let out of
the asylum.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
I don't think.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
I would have been let
out.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Yeah right,
Unexpected turn, trantor has led
you out to the front of theasylum and you are on your way
to go see Constable Jute.
So currently you are on thefront and Trantor has pointed
you towards the districtgarrison.
So is there anything you guyswant to do beforehand, or do you
(20:26):
guys want to head right overthere?
Speaker 5 (20:30):
Stab her in the
throat.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Grantor.
Speaker 5 (20:33):
I think we should
just go straight there, perfect.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
Alright.
So as you've been walking, youstill.
You're still in a pretty prettyrun-down part of the town.
You can see that the buildingsare all falling apart.
The people that are walkingback and forth or walking down
the street are avoiding eyecontact.
There are a few that glance alittle long at Glenn and his
(21:03):
fancy clothing and fancy jewelrythat he's got on, but Glenn is
still spinning his dagger andthey quickly avoid eye contact
with him.
After about a half hour's walkyou come upon the district
garrison.
It's a tall tower.
(21:25):
It's got a bunch of those arrowslot windows pointing down into
the courtyard with four guardsoutside of it and then a bunch
of guards just patrolling thearea in general.
So they're normally in teams oftwo to three.
You don't see any by themselves, but you each.
(21:45):
Each of these guards seem to bein thick hide leather and thick
hide or leather armor with asword, and the ones in front of
the tower have a small handcrossbow on them.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
So it's basically
fully manned, fully decked out
with dude.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Yep fully decked out.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
And dudette I mean
dude gender neutrally Correct,
like dudette I mean dude.
Gender neutrally Correct, godintended.
Speaker 6 (22:13):
So yes, I fuck dudes
okay, right, she's a dude, we're
all dudes, that went prettyextreme pretty fast.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
I just wanted to get
it out there before anybody
asked a question.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
You used the present
tense there, but that's okay.
Speaker 6 (22:36):
Remember that
drinking episode you were
talking about.
Maybe not the best idea.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
No, I think it's a
great idea.
We'll just record it andrelease it with no editing.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Wait what we should
do.
It live.
There you go put it on twitch.
We get ideas from the audienceact out a mad lib dude yeah, we
could.
Whose line is it anyway?
(23:04):
Give me a name of a town.
Okay, that's where we're going.
Cool Work the audience a littlebit.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
It could work.
So, with you all standing there, you do see a few of the guards
look at you briefly before theycontinue their patrols.
Nobody's trying to make anyaggressive movements towards you
.
It just seems like they're allkeeping an eye on you because
they haven't seen you in thispart of town before yeah, we are
strangers.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Uh, do we look
particularly different?
Uh, high elves, as most of usare yeah, this part of town.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
You haven't seen many
other uh many races in this
area.
You've've seen humans, a fewdwarves and a couple gnomes, but
elves are pretty few and farbetween in this area and taboxes
are just unheard of in thispart of town or in this part of
the world.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Are the people in
this part of town armed?
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Most everybody
walking around you've seen, has
some kind of short sword ordagger visible weaponry to
discourage looters or beingmugged.
Speaker 5 (24:18):
So are there any
people that appear rich or well
off?
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Honestly, in this
part of town, in this part of
town.
No, that's why everybody's beeneyeing you, glenn.
You seem to be the richestperson in the area, yeah like
all the jewelry and everythingBig hat.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
You're clean.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
Pim clothes.
I'm imagining it's probablylike what, lunchtime-ish,
noon-ish?
Speaker 3 (24:43):
Yeah, it's high noon.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
Okay, I guess that
helps set the stage two for what
kind of people might be out andabout.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
You're right, I
should be better about
describing what part of the dayit is and what the weather is
like.
I will make that as a note onme.
Speaker 5 (24:56):
I was curious so I
asked.
No, I wasn't asking if therewere normally rich people, I was
just asking if there were any.
If there's anybody that doesn'tfit in with the poor, dirty,
bedraggled folks.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Oh no, not that
you've seen.
The guards in this area are thecleanest people you've seen.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
Okay, I'm walking
next to a dude that's got like
500 gold in his pocket.
I don't know if that's normal.
Speaker 6 (25:25):
Just don't tell
anybody.
500 gold.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
I don't know what
you're talking about.
I don't have 500.
500 gold.
Speaker 5 (25:31):
I don't know what
you're talking about.
I don't have 500.
It's only 470.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
I said like it means
approximately.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
Alright, so we're
looking for that constable.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
Yeah, is there a.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
Actually, is there a?
Do we have?
Speaker 2 (25:50):
a description of said
constable.
Actually, is there a kind of anobvious entrance or people who
look like they might be incharge?
Speaker 3 (26:01):
You do see the
garrison itself guarded by four
guards.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
Floating exclamation.
Points or question marks nofloating exclamation points or
question marks no.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
No monsters of any
kind.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
There is one guard at
the entrance who seems to have
half plate on, so a littlebetter armored and equipped than
most of the other guards, glenna little more, a little better
armored and equipped than mostof the other guards.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
Yeah, uh, glenn, okay
, so what was the name of the
constable we're looking foragain?
Constable jute okay, so glennwill see that.
The see the guy in half plateguy.
Sorry, you did not say see theperson in.
Is it a human?
Speaker 3 (26:46):
uh, it is a human is
it is a human male.
Speaker 5 (26:48):
Okay, so Glenn will
see the human male that is
standing there in half plate andhe will walk directly with
authority, straight at him or tohim, at him, whatever, and walk
directly up to the constableand say, hey, we're from
Councilwoman, Whoops.
(27:10):
Thornwell Say Whoops, thornwellSay again.
Speaker 6 (27:13):
Thornwell.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
Thornwell.
Speaker 6 (27:16):
Thornwell.
Speaker 5 (27:18):
We're from
Councilwoman Thornwell and we're
here to see Constable Jute.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
As you walked up as
you walked up, you could see a
couple of the guards their hands, move their swords, but did not
put their hands on it.
The guard that you walked up toin the half plate doesn't seem
perturbed by your movements atall.
He stares at you as you'recoming up, as you're looking at
him.
He stands about four inchestaller than you, he's a large
man and he looks at you and saysin a deep baritone voice he
(27:53):
says Constable Jute's on patrolright now so where is Constable
Jute patrolling?
uh, she is down that street overthere.
If you keep going down there, she should be making her rounds
around the block.
Well, thank you, constablethere If you keep going down
there.
Speaker 5 (28:09):
She should be making
her rounds around the block.
Well, thank you, constable.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
Oh no, I'm not a
Constable, by any means, I'm
just Guard Frank.
Speaker 5 (28:20):
Okay, well, thank you
, guard.
Frank, I will put in a goodword.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
You were very helpful
, does that mean that
Constable's above Guard.
What's that Like?
Speaker 5 (28:27):
Constable is above
Guard.
What's that?
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Is it like Constable
is above guard?
Is it like a rank?
Is it like detective?
Speaker 4 (28:36):
It's like a different
role.
I think right, no.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
I think we should
probably ask somebody, but.
Speaker 5 (28:42):
I would think that a
constable is like a detective
and a guard is a guard.
Right, a prison guard and apolice officer would be above,
would be ranked above them, because they have to actually do
investigations and stuff.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
Do we have any
familiarity, do our characters
have any familiarity with theseterms in our world?
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Yeah, you've heard it
a few times in other cities and
towns.
Constables are typically theones that investigate.
They normally start off in theranks of guard and work their
way up once they've proventhemselves.
Speaker 5 (29:13):
Something tells me
Glenn is probably pretty
familiar with how the lawenforces stuff.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
I bet he's been a CIA
a time or two.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
Alright, so Glenn,
and here.
After that he will nod at guardFrank and start walking in
whatever direction he was uh, asyou start to walk away, uh, you
hear guard frank's voice onceagain.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
He says uh, just a
real quick.
What, what are you?
Uh, what are you looking for, constable jude?
For I want to make sure I'm notsending trouble her way.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
Oh, no, no.
This isn't trouble, we're justhere to get some more
information, but I can't shareany more than that.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
Okay, would you like
me to send a man or two with you
so they can show you the way?
Speaker 5 (30:03):
Is it that
complicated?
Speaker 3 (30:05):
No, I just wouldn't
want you to get lost.
There's some shady charactersout there.
Speaker 5 (30:09):
Oh, I don't think the
shady characters will be
tangling with us.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
Okay, well, have a
great day.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Nice.
Don't we have some sort of Ican do what I want thing?
Speaker 5 (30:25):
Yes, we have several.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Not that kind kind, I
meant like administrative I can
do what I want.
Speaker 5 (30:36):
I mean that as well
yeah we have several, oh no you
did, yeah, you forged.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
Uh, you're able to
forge your signature, mhm, mhm.
And so if we need to, I'm justright.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
Yes, so we Mm-hmm and
so if we need to, I'm just
right, yes, so we follow thepath we said we bid guard Frank.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
Good day and we.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
His direction is
towards their direct constable
jute.
Okay, that's cool miss, missconstable jute.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
So, as you, as you're
walking around down the street,
about 50 feet ahead of you, amiddle-aged human female in
pretty plain light armor andshe's got a plain light armor
that is very well put together.
She keeps her hair short andpractical.
(31:34):
It's a dark brown color andthen it's kept neatly underneath
of a cap.
You can see her eyes movingquickly.
They seem to be very observantand as soon as she turns a
corner, she spots you and yourgroup and she locks eyes with
each of you, quickly assessingeach one of you so how far?
Speaker 5 (31:54):
did you say 50 feet?
50 feet so he pointed us 50feet away, like about a 10
second walk I, I didn't, Ididn't actually keep time for
the walk, yeah okay.
Well, I'm just saying it waslike not far at all.
Oh yeah, not far at all.
No, it saying it was not far atall.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
Oh yeah, not far at
all, it was only a couple blocks
.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
To be fair, if I were
in Guard Frank's position, I
would probably want to sendsomebody with you as well, Glenn
.
Speaker 5 (32:23):
Right, I would too,
but Glenn wasn't interested in
that.
It's the feather.
By the way, 50 feet is lessthan a block Anyway.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
Right, you walked a
bit and then 50 feet ahead of
you she came around a corner.
Speaker 5 (32:40):
Okay, oh.
Okay, I misunderstood.
I thought you meant that shecame around a corner, 50 foot
away from where we talked toFrank.
No no no, we could have juststood still.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
Yep, not your fault.
Speaker 5 (32:52):
Alright.
So she made eye contact with usand Glenn would see that and
just walk directly up to her.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Okay, she's a
relatively short woman.
She stands just under five six,so she's uh shorter than
everybody in the party.
Uh, significantly, she doesn'tseem to be intimidated by any of
you.
She, as she stands there and asshe sees you walk towards her,
(33:29):
making eye contact, she standsher ground.
You can see her hand move toher pocket, but she doesn't pull
any kind of weapon out oranything.
She just seems to be ready foranything.
Speaker 5 (33:41):
Well, glenn will put
a large smile on his face and,
with a friendly voice, say hey,we're here to talk to you about
we.
We met with Councilwoman.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Thorwell.
Speaker 5 (33:54):
Thorwell, wow, we met
with.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
Councilwoman Thorwell
.
Two very common words.
Speaker 5 (33:59):
And she said that
you'd be the best person for us
to get information, for we'retrying to put some pieces
together.
Do you have a couple of secondsto talk to us?
Speaker 3 (34:10):
She tilts her head a
little bit and she looks you up
and down and she says what'sthis about?
Speaker 5 (34:22):
Well, we're here to
find out some more information
about some of those murders thatI'm sure you've heard are going
on, and to get some detailsabout the scene that you found
she immediately recognized whatyou're talking about and she,
her brow furrows a little bitand she says I'm listening, but
(34:47):
I must.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
I must warn you, I've
been advised to stay clear of
anything related to thisspecific instance that you're
talking about what informationare you looking for?
Speaker 5 (35:01):
while I was just
looking for, maybe, a
description of the scene thatyou found outside of what you
should be telling me.
Well, I found?
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Is that outside of
what you should be telling me?
Well, I get off duty in an hourand I can take you to the scene
, but the scene is not my normalpatrol.
Speaker 5 (35:22):
Alright, okay, so
could you give us directions to
the scene?
And then I think my friendsmight want to ask a couple of
questions.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
Sure, are you looking
for where I captured the
lantern ghost killer, or are youlooking for the murder that
happened the day after he wasexecuted?
Speaker 5 (35:47):
The day after he was
executed.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Ah yeah, yes, I can
take you there.
We still haven't apprehendedthat killer.
I can't believe we caught oneand then another one showed up
less than 24 hours after.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
Man.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
Are you stupid, Glenn
?
Roll me some insight.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
Garjut was on the
skeptical side of who she caught
was the dude.
Isn't that what our Thorelden,or whoever, had told us
Thornwell?
Am I misremembering?
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Glenn, what did your
roll for insight?
Speaker 1 (36:28):
12.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
You can sense a
little bit of sarcasm in her
voice as she says that.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
What did she say?
Speaker 3 (36:36):
She said I can't
believe that there's another
killer.
That's been 24 hours after wecaught the Lantern Ghost killer.
I'm pretty sure that Glennwould recognize sarcasm pretty
easily, but anyway, so to answeryour question, yes, justin, she
is on the more skeptical side.
Speaker 5 (36:55):
Fair enough, so Glenn
kind of gives a half smile.
Yeah, yeah, must be a copycat.
Speaker 4 (37:04):
Wink.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
You see her the left
side of her mouth curls up a
little bit into a smile and shesays yeah, I can tell you how to
get there.
It's down a few alleys.
I think it would probably bebetter if I just took you there
myself.
Speaker 5 (37:25):
So are both of the
scenes outside your normal
patrol.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
They are.
Yes, I was taken off of thepatrol that area.
That was my normal route andthen when we first caught the
Lantern Ghost Killer, that waspart of my normal route.
I stumbled upon him after hehad just murdered somebody route
(37:49):
.
I stumbled upon him after hehad just murdered somebody, um,
but the other one was called.
I was called in to investigateafterwards by another car.
Speaker 5 (37:54):
Okay, so I I don't
want to get you in trouble, so
do you need to like continuewalking on your patrol?
We can walk with you and talkas we're walking uh, that'd be
wonderful.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
I just uh, I, to ask,
because I don't know any of you
, that you all stay withineyesight of me.
Not that I don't trust you, butI've learned to keep my eyes
open on strangers.
Speaker 5 (38:17):
Sure thing, sure
thing.
Glenn kind of looks around, looks at Sam, expecting Sam to
ask a question.
I'm just kidding.
Speaker 4 (38:27):
Sam's like I'm just
kidding.
Sam's like I'm new here.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
I don't even know
where the fuck I am.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
Looks over at Monty.
Speaker 6 (38:38):
Don't worry, I'll
just stay in with a nice state
of view.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
She sees Monty, looks
at him and just shakes her head
.
She seems pretty used to thiskind of attitude from other
people, specifically men aroundher age and other guards, so she
just kind of shakes her headand immediately dismisses Monty.
Speaker 6 (39:05):
Let's be honest about
her sexual orientation.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
Is it because of the
ball cap and the shirt?
Crop tear Profiling?
Speaker 1 (39:14):
a little bit there.
Matt, Definitely not.
Speaker 5 (39:18):
So I was kind of
looking to Monty to start asking
some questions.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
But so I think we're
going to check out these two
places though, right.
Speaker 6 (39:34):
Well, yeah we're
talking while we walk.
Speaker 5 (39:40):
I mean Monty's pretty
much only good for just hitting
on girls.
So Glenn is not really theinvestigation type, but sure
he's more the breakinginvestigation types.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
But anyway.
So he'll say well, what do youthink happened?
Well, I can tell you, while I'mon patrol, I can tell you that
when I found uh when I foundjarmy, he was standing over his
victim with a bloody knife Iimmediately drew my weapon on
him and told him that he wasunder arrest and he seemed very
(40:21):
confused as to where he was anduh.
But after he got his bearingshe was very cooperative and came
with me, which is surprising, because anybody that I've seen
mutilate a victim like that hasnever been that cooperative or
willing to come with me.
Speaker 6 (40:38):
I normally have to
end their lives right there do
you think maybe there was achance that he did not do it?
Speaker 3 (40:46):
no, no, it seems
definitely the ghost lantern
killer oh wait, so why do yousay that?
Speaker 2 (40:53):
uh nines will nod
sagely and say oh, he was mind
controlled.
That makes sense.
That happened to me once, except I only stole all the
oranges out of the mess hall.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
He has a random dice
generator.
Speaker 6 (41:14):
Man.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
I'm fucking insulted.
Speaker 6 (41:19):
I just can't do that.
That was great, it was good, itwas good.
Speaker 3 (41:26):
Commander Jute.
She chuckles once, Commander.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
Or sorry.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
Constable Jute
chuckles and says I've stolen my
fair share of fruit from a messhall.
Speaker 6 (41:40):
I mean, you're hungry
, you're hungry, you do what you
have to do.
But I mean, is there not thepossibility that he just
happened across the murder sceneafter it happened?
Hence his level of confusion.
Speaker 3 (41:53):
I don't think so.
You don't just stumble acrossand get that kind of bloody
clothing and holding a bloodyknife if you just walk across a
murder.
He had it all over his person.
Speaker 6 (42:05):
What if he was trying
to help the person?
Speaker 3 (42:08):
Uh, I don't think so.
Obvious slash marks of obviousslash marks on the victim and
there was defensive wounds onhis arms.
I don't think he just stumbledacross.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
Seems fair.
I like that Defensive wounds.
I was thinking that same thingwe're all far too samples and
maybe do a DNA.
Speaker 5 (42:34):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (42:35):
We're far too steeped
in the CSI society that we live
in to not think about thesethings.
Speaker 4 (42:44):
I don't know what DNA
is sounds like to not think
about these things.
I don't know what DNA is.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
Sam's like it's
deoxyribonucleic acid.
Speaker 4 (42:54):
Everybody just turns
and looks at Sam Well.
I read a book.
Speaker 5 (43:02):
You read one book.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
She turns a corner
and you can see down this alley.
There's nobody here and itseems like she's very familiar
with this area.
But as soon as she turns thecorner, she looks around quickly
.
She hesitates slightly andglances around one more time and
then leans in close to thegroup and says Listen, I don't
have a lot of time.
But after Jeremy was executed, another murder occurred the very
(43:33):
next morning, which you know, but it was quickly brushed under
the rug by my superiors.
I don't know why they're actingthis way, but they're
definitely under someone'sinfluence.
Speaker 5 (43:44):
Okay, okay, so Glenn
looks around as well.
Any idea?
Who is it, mr white?
Oh, mr, I know, senseis are inon it.
Speaker 3 (43:59):
I don't know who mr
white is.
Um and I I really shouldn't saythis.
Her voice drops to almost awhisper and says Mr Dory.
Speaker 6 (44:08):
Mr White Dory is the
one we suspect so far.
Speaker 3 (44:14):
Her voice drops even
lower into a whisper and she
says I shouldn't say this, butCounselor Dory has been having
very private meetings with someof our commanders.
None of us are privy to themand we're not sure I just I've
never met're not sure I justI've never met Dory myself.
I just I've heard rumors abouthim.
Speaker 4 (44:34):
What kind of rumors?
Speaker 3 (44:38):
What'd you say,
justin?
What kind of rumors.
Oh, um, well, I I've heard thathe wears a lot of perfume, uh,
and he's uh, none of the othercounselors like him very much.
Well, I've heard that he wearsa lot of perfume and none of the
other counselors like him verymuch.
Speaker 4 (45:00):
And that anybody
who's been in his warehouse says
that it's extremely hot andhumid in there.
Speaker 6 (45:07):
So just to recap the
warehouse is hot and humid and
he wears too much perfume.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
He's in hot yoga and
none of the other counselors
like him, and he's heavy is heoverweight?
No, he's not overweight.
He's a little short, but henothing.
He wears heavy clothing.
(45:30):
Um, even in the middle of thesummer, I don't really
understand it.
He wears a heavy leather cloak,but now he's he's a human right
yeah, I mean, we only havehumans on the council okay,
(45:56):
alright so what?
Speaker 5 (46:03):
any idea?
You said it's very privatemeetings, very private meetings
with the commanders.
Do you have any idea?
You said it's very privatemeetings, very private meetings
with the commanders.
Do you any idea what they'retalking about?
Speaker 6 (46:11):
I don't, I have, I'm
not sure at all, do you think
maybe we could talk to one ofthese commanders, somebody that
would be uh sympathetic to speakwith outsiders?
Speaker 3 (46:21):
I don't think that's
a very good idea.
I've been told by no uncertainmeans that the lanterntern Ghost
Killer is caught and I'm not toinvestigate or talk about it
anymore.
I was almost completely let gofrom my position because I was
pushing it.
Speaker 5 (46:36):
Oh, we're not saying
that the Ghost Lantern Killer
isn't caught.
We're just trying to figure outmore information about that so
we can trace the copycat killer.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
Good call.
Speaker 6 (46:47):
That's good, I like
that.
Speaker 3 (46:48):
That was good.
Roll me a persuasion check Bill.
Speaker 5 (46:51):
Yeah 16.
Speaker 3 (46:55):
She says to you I
really don't think it's a good
idea.
I've only been met withaggression every time I bring up
the topic.
Speaker 6 (47:06):
Would you perhaps be
interested in helping us, even
if we happen to encounteraggression?
Speaker 3 (47:14):
I can.
I will not take you to thecommander.
If you want to find thecommander, you'd have to go
through the normal routing, thenormal chain.
I cannot bring you there myself.
Speaker 5 (47:23):
Could you tell us one
of their names?
Speaker 3 (47:27):
Yes, yes, I can.
Speaker 5 (47:31):
So, while you're
looking that up, how much does a
guard make?
Speaker 6 (47:37):
Money-wise 470 gold,
170 gold.
Speaker 3 (47:43):
Furniture-wise.
Speaker 5 (47:46):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
Yes, money wise they
make zero furniture while you
are inventing that particularanswer, nines is going to
generally ask the group isn'tcounselor Dory, doesn't he like,
(48:06):
literally and figuratively,smell bad here?
Isn't Counselor Dory?
Doesn't he like, literally andfiguratively, smell bad here?
Speaker 6 (48:10):
Isn't that the term I
mean if he wears perfume.
I would say so.
Speaker 5 (48:16):
Glenn, so well, it
depends on the perfume.
Some perfume smells good, but Imean, it's really a matter of
preference.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
So do we need to talk
to every other person in the
city, or should we talk to doryfirst?
Speaker 6 (48:33):
I, I, I mean, I can't
believe I'm saying this, but
nines makes a lot of sense inthis.
Uh, in this matter, I fuckinglove that I I would have to say
there's when you find a fish inthe cabinet, just remove the
fish.
It smells bad.
I think we should go straightfor this or your sleeping bag
(48:56):
that was the mermaid lady 100%.
Speaker 3 (49:02):
So my commander's
name is Commander Noah, bill, uh
.
So Constable Jute says mycommander's name is uh, is
Commander Noah, uh, bill orGlenn?
You've heard rumors that guardsin this area make about seven
gold a month.
Speaker 5 (49:17):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (49:18):
Does that sound good
or bad?
That's below average.
A water deep guard, forinstance, makes 15 gold per
month.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
Really Wow.
Seven gold per month, oh Wow,that's a lot.
Seven gold per month, oh wait,is Nines privy to this?
He's about to be amazed abouthow much money that is.
Speaker 5 (49:39):
So what Glenn is
thinking is, if she does get
fired for helping us, maybehiring a guard to come around
with us?
Speaker 2 (49:50):
She's clearly killed
people, yeah, you see how
excited Brandon is about thatidea.
Speaker 3 (49:56):
I love playing a DM
and a PC.
Speaker 4 (49:59):
We haven't had a
little like beyond lackey, since
our last one got kidnappedyears ago.
Speaker 2 (50:05):
Yeah, because being
an NPC is terrible.
Speaker 6 (50:08):
Awful Random trees
fall on those NPCs all the time.
Speaker 4 (50:11):
Yeah, it's true.
One got kidnapped right.
We had a whole side quest forit.
That's probably done, yeah.
Speaker 6 (50:17):
He's in someone's
handbag for a while Like a
goblin satchel or whatever itwas.
Yeah, he's long gone.
Speaker 3 (50:24):
All right.
So Constable Jude is listeningto you all speak and she says
well, if I can make a suggestion, I I really think you should
check out the, the crime scenesI also know of two of.
While I was investigating Icame up with two of dory's uh of
uh, two of dory's businesspartners, or at least people
(50:45):
that he interacts with on aregular basis.
Um, uh, maybe you can speak tothem.
Um, I, I'm not really sure.
I I would really suggest notgoing to talk to the commanders
unless you had no other choicecan you tell us how to get a
dory himself?
Speaker 6 (51:03):
how to get a Dory
himself?
Speaker 3 (51:04):
I mean, you can
always go to his warehouse.
Speaker 6 (51:08):
So, that doesn't
sound like a bad idea in and of
itself, and I quite happen tolike it.
Where is this warehouse located?
Speaker 3 (51:18):
His warehouse is
located in the Alchemist
District.
Speaker 5 (51:22):
There's a district
for Alchemists.
I mean, I guess it doesn't haveto be that big, but it'd still
be a district even if it's abuilding.
But um, Okay.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
Imagine having a
district full of alchemists.
I mean not literally, justimagine it.
Speaker 6 (51:40):
I wonder what you
would do there I'm questioning
it so.
Speaker 5 (51:45):
Glenn will say, yeah,
that's probably a good idea.
So yeah, I definitely want togo check out these scenes,
especially if you could take usto one of them or both of them,
um and the other.
Speaker 3 (51:57):
You said that you had
some names of his business
associates uh yeah, people whohe's interacted with a few times
, on more than one occasion, andseems to have regular dealings
with them.
Yes, well, there's a perfumernamed Loquid.
Speaker 5 (52:20):
How do you spell it?
I'm just kidding.
Speaker 3 (52:22):
L-O-Q-U-I-D.
I nailed it.
Speaker 4 (52:25):
So did I.
Speaker 6 (52:27):
Not to be convinced
with liquid exactly.
Speaker 3 (52:31):
He seems to frequent
that business more than any
other.
Again, he wears a lot ofperfume.
It's overwhelming, really.
And the other one is a femalegnome named Groton Longflint.
Speaker 5 (52:44):
Groton Longflint.
Speaker 3 (52:50):
Groton G-R-O-T-T-E-N.
Damn it.
Not that Groton.
Speaker 4 (52:57):
Say Groton and.
Speaker 5 (52:57):
G-R-O-T-E-N Lowflint.
Speaker 4 (52:59):
It's a rotten gnome.
I get it Longflint.
Speaker 6 (53:04):
I got a Longflint for
you.
Speaker 1 (53:07):
What do you mean by
that?
Explain yourself.
I want to hear this.
Speaker 2 (53:10):
Everybody shut up.
Speaker 6 (53:14):
You can make a fire
with it very easily because it's
so long and your steel doesn'thave to rub it very hard.
Speaker 1 (53:20):
You're going to be
super safe because of how far
away everything is from eachother.
Speaker 4 (53:28):
Sam clears her throat
and speaks up.
What does Grotten Longflint do?
Speaker 1 (53:35):
She's a female gnome.
Speaker 3 (53:37):
Well, she describes
herself as an adventurer, but in
this town she's known more as aburglar and pickpocket.
Speaker 6 (53:47):
That's way less
entertaining as a whore.
Speaker 3 (53:54):
I'm sure you can find
those in this area.
Monty, if you're interested,Adventure is out there.
Adventure is out there.
There's a whole table on whatSTDs you can catch in D&D Wow.
Speaker 6 (54:10):
That's well thought
out.
Speaker 3 (54:12):
There's a table for
determining how big your dick
size is.
In D&D they have tables foreverything.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
Have we talked about
this system and I?
Forget the name of it right now.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
Which one?
Speaker 2 (54:28):
There is a
role-playing game system that is
depravity written down.
It has tables for everythingfrom penis size to vagina
opening capacity to anuscapacity.
Speaker 3 (54:52):
Yeah, I'm telling you
, I never thought I'd hear there
, yeah, no, there.
Speaker 2 (54:56):
There are ways to
calculate through in this game,
uh like, how much damage rapewould do based on your relative
sizes.
It's insane and honestly, pretty fucking disturbing.
It's out there, don't look forit.
Speaker 6 (55:15):
Just go to the
penismightiercom.
Speaker 4 (55:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:24):
If you're ready for a
change, you go to lemonpartyorg
.
You should actually edit thatout, don't.
Speaker 3 (55:33):
So Constable Jude
looks around a little bit and
she starts her patrol up onceagain.
She moves a little bit ahead ofyou guys, ahead of the party,
and she's walking a little bitahead of you guys ahead of the
party.
And she's walking a little bitahead of you now.
And she continues to glancearound and every once in a while
she looks over her shoulder tomake sure that you're all still
(55:54):
following, and she says well, Ihave to go to the garrison
quickly and turn over, but ifyou wait right here or in front
of the garrison I'll gladly meetyou.
And she speaks a little louderwhen she says this part but yeah
, I'd gladly take you out for abeer and we can discuss our
grandmother.
(56:15):
And she looks directly at you, glenn.
Speaker 5 (56:18):
That's good.
I really miss her.
I haven't seen her in years andif you have some details about
her, that would be great.
I really miss her.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
Yeah, of course, just
give me a couple minutes, okay,
and she turns and walks awayfrom the party.
Speaker 5 (56:34):
So what does?
So we just walked around on herpatrol with her.
What did we see as far Likethis is the docks right.
Speaker 3 (56:45):
You're a little bit
away from the docks, but you can
still smell the salt air fromhere.
Speaker 5 (56:48):
yes, Okay, so what
are we?
I mean, is it?
What kind of buildings Is thisshops?
Speaker 3 (56:55):
No, mostly shacks,
shanties.
There's a couple pubs around.
There's trash all over thestreet.
You see a couple peoplesleeping on the street itself.
Nobody seems to be well-groomedin this area.
Trash all over the street.
You see a couple peoplesleeping on the street itself.
Speaker 5 (57:08):
Nobody seems to be
well-groomed in this area.
This message was not brought toyou by any VR hardware.
Speaker 3 (57:14):
No, I will say if
Quest or Valve want to finance
or whatever, I'll delete it byFacebook, we're willing to throw
your money away.
We're willing to throw yourmoney away.
Speaker 6 (57:27):
We're just looking
for that person to throw it to.
Speaker 3 (57:29):
That's true.
We could hire a really goodsocial media manager then,
alright.
Speaker 2 (57:38):
Do everything in the
metaverse.
Speaker 3 (57:40):
Perfect Constable
Jute.
After about 15-20 minutes, constable Jute comes out.
Uh, she is still wearing herlight armor uh and has her short
sword on her side, but she haslost the uh daggers on her chest
and the hand crossbow that wason her waistband, glenn.
Speaker 5 (58:02):
As a note, she is
taller than Glenn, is she?
Glenn is 5'5" five five.
Speaker 3 (58:09):
Oh okay, he just has
a personality.
Speaker 5 (58:12):
The feather makes him
look taller well, yeah, with
the feather he's like six foottall, yeah, yeah do you guys
know what I did with my pen?
Speaker 3 (58:25):
In your hand.
Yes, seems like a weirdguessing game.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
Did you slide back?
Speaker 5 (58:30):
It's like the riddle
what's in my pocket.
Speaker 2 (58:32):
Yeah, I could win the
contest.
What does he keep in hispocketses?
Speaker 3 (58:40):
For our listeners out
there.
This is why we never makefucking levels.
Speaker 1 (58:44):
No, it's not.
Speaker 2 (58:46):
We do everything but
play the goddamn game, and it's
so fun.
Speaker 3 (58:52):
I have a blast, and
that's why most of our listeners
listen to us, right?
Because we don't take it tooseriously.
Speaker 5 (58:58):
Oh, no, Some of them
are interested in the story
proceeding.
Yeah, like are we fucking over.
Speaker 2 (59:04):
Like what percentage?
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (59:08):
Hey, let us know on
Discord.
Speaker 3 (59:12):
Oh yeah, join us on
Discord, message us on Facebook
or whatever.
Speaker 2 (59:15):
Let us know.
Speaker 3 (59:16):
Even for the story or
just us fucking around.
Speaker 6 (59:19):
Ask us a question,
we'll be sure not to answer it.
Just talk around it.
Speaker 2 (59:24):
Maybe I'll start to
hold up the options.
Oh dude, you can.
You can actually insert a, avoting option, directly there in
the general chat or podcastFeedback is maybe a good one but
maybe it's kind of on the nosethough.
Yeah, maybe not there Peoplemay actually read that.
Speaker 5 (59:48):
So if you want to be
in tune with us as a podcast,
don't put your feedback in thepodcast feedback channel.
Speaker 3 (59:56):
Put it somewhere else
, write it down in the journal.
If you want to be in tune withus, start your thought in one
channel and then move to anotherchannel and finish it there.
Speaker 5 (01:00:06):
And neither one of
them should move to another
channel and finish it there, andneither one of them should be
the feedback channel, as long asit's not feedback, but no, put
a poll in there.
Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
I'm here for the
hijinks.
I'm here because of that sexyass, nines.
I'm here.
Speaker 5 (01:00:24):
Actually they will
probably.
Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
They better fucking
say that, because it's obviously
if you're going to invitepeople.
If I am not the reason, asingle person listens to this
shit, then I'm going to suck, start a shotgun.
Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
Edit that out hang on
forget the bite earlier where
you came out of the closet.
That that's our new soundbite.
No.
Speaker 5 (01:00:50):
What I meant was he's
had three soundbites so far.
Speaker 2 (01:00:54):
If nobody is here for
nines, then fuck all of you.
Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
No, no no Wait, no,
no, no.
Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
Hang on.
Speaker 5 (01:01:06):
Nobody's here for
nines I'm moving to Ph no Hang
on.
Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
Nobody's here for
nines.
I'm moving to Philly.
Speaker 3 (01:01:14):
All right, Constable
Ju comes out of the garrison and
she walks up to you, Glenn, andshe says oh, cousin, are you
ready to head to the bar?
And we can start talking aboutthis.
Speaker 5 (01:01:27):
Yes, I am.
Let's go talk about granny.
I haven't seen her in forever.
Speaker 6 (01:01:33):
Monty kind of looks
over to Nines and gives him this
weird side eye.
Speaker 5 (01:01:38):
Because Nines is the
right person.
Speaker 6 (01:01:40):
Just to see what
Nines' response is.
How does Nines respond tohearing that About this
grandmother thing?
Yeah, and then Monty looking athim.
Speaker 3 (01:01:51):
I wonder what kind of
oranges they have in that
garrison laughter.
Speaker 2 (01:02:03):
Nain feels compelled
to apologize to Nines.
Feels compelled to apologize toConstable Jute and empathize
with her for the loss of hergrandmother.
Speaker 5 (01:02:21):
No, no, she's not
dead.
Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
I'm just so sorry.
I know what it's like to lose aloved one.
Speaker 6 (01:02:30):
That is great, that
is awesome yeah it's, it'll be
okay, it'll get better.
Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
It gets better from
here.
Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
The council stops you
and she says she's still alive.
Speaker 5 (01:02:45):
Yeah, don't curse our
grandmother.
Speaker 2 (01:02:47):
What I?
Oh, no, I must pray about this.
Okay, bob Glade.
Speaker 6 (01:02:54):
Sensei Monty looks to
Sam and points at nines and
does the same like quizzical.
Look See what kind of responsehe gets.
Speaker 4 (01:03:06):
You're on the
eyepatch side.
He just doesn't see.
You see what kind of responsehe gets.
Speaker 6 (01:03:10):
You're on the
eyepatch side.
He just doesn't see you.
He turned to sir the fuckingpot.
Fair enough, moving on.
Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
I do have to say that
I appreciate Justin's how he
plays Mors versus how he playsSam.
Sam is you know beat-em-upcharacter.
She doesn't give a shit aboutall this and Mors would be in
this, doesn't?
Engage, and Mors would be inthis Like he'd be asking all the
questions.
Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
So I appreciate your
goodness.
Speaker 4 (01:03:34):
That's what I
appreciate about you Well, thank
you, take it down about 25%there.
But Sam, it's not that shedoesn't care, she just feels out
of place, like she kind of gotswept up into this and collected
as like a random bar goer intothis grand adventure and is now
like body doubled with this herowho travels through time and
(01:03:58):
dimensions, and she's like Idon't know what the fuck to do.
I'm just a fucking like musicalinstrument maker.
Yeah, she's like I'm new here Iforgot about that.
Speaker 2 (01:04:10):
Oh man, sam is the
bloody, nine.
Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Love that.
Speaker 4 (01:04:16):
She just feels like
she's in over her head and she's
just like tagging along for agood time.
That's fair.
Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
Literary reference
for anybody who doesn't get it
about Logan ninefinger look itup.
Speaker 4 (01:04:31):
Okay, read the books
I'm not gonna give us a
reference.
Nine finger that is thereference.
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
All right, I'll look
it up.
I've noted it all right, uh.
So the constable starts walking,uh, down the street.
She's making casualconversation with you, asking
you about your trip here, askingyou just trying to get to know
you all a little bit better.
And she looks at Sam and Montyand spends a lot of time with
(01:05:06):
them because she's never seen anorc before, or half-orc before,
and she says I've heard ofhalf-orcs but I've never seen
one and I've never heard of one.
That is I don't mean to be rudewhen I say this, but the color
that you are me.
I've only heard of them beingblue when I say this, but the
(01:05:27):
color that you are Me.
I've only heard of them beingblue.
Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
That's the same color
as Cerulean right.
Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
I think so.
I'm not really sure.
I've not seen Cerulean before.
Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
Oh man, you guys have
such lame names for colors.
Sam what's your?
Speaker 4 (01:05:49):
name oh man you guys
have such lame names for colors.
Sam looks back.
Speaker 1 (01:05:52):
Nines per minute.
Speaker 4 (01:05:52):
And looks back.
So in my head I'm trying toseparate me from Sam here.
In my head, half orcs kind oflike would be fairly common
around the docks as sailors andstrong hands to load cannons and
other wares.
Is that common in this worldthat you have created for us
(01:06:14):
here, brando?
Speaker 3 (01:06:14):
It is not common in
this town, in this town.
Speaker 4 (01:06:19):
Okay, oh well, I
don't think I'm anything special
.
Oh well, I don't think I'manything special.
Just, you know, my whole tribeis filled with people that look
kind of like me and now that youmention it, I haven't seen a
whole lot here.
But back in Wheat Hollow isthat where we're from Lightshell
(01:06:44):
light show.
Thank you, back back in lightshell.
Out there, you know, we're notnot terribly common, but
certainly not unusual.
Speaker 3 (01:06:54):
I I've never seen one
before.
I you seem very pleasant.
I don't understand why peopleare so afraid of of half works.
Speaker 4 (01:07:04):
Oh well, we can be a
bit much sometimes.
Speaker 3 (01:07:09):
Oh should, should I
be afraid of you?
Speaker 4 (01:07:13):
Of me?
Uh, I don't.
I don't see why you should be.
No, I mean, unless you'relooking for some trouble, are
you looking for trouble?
I can be trouble.
Speaker 3 (01:07:24):
Her hand.
Speaker 4 (01:07:26):
She raises a hand up
to her ax half.
Speaker 3 (01:07:27):
She's like I could be
trouble as soon as your hand
starts to move, she instantlygoes down to her sword and is
ready to draw it this, it does.
Speaker 4 (01:07:36):
Does she say anything
back?
Speaker 3 (01:07:37):
no, she hardens she.
She locks eyes with you andhardens, she.
Speaker 6 (01:07:41):
Looks like she's in a
battle stance we're about to
kill her and form it.
Man, this sucks.
Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
Nines will reflex
grab his staff as well, because
that's how he trains.
Speaker 5 (01:07:56):
So Jute is back by
them, and I mean where is?
Speaker 3 (01:08:03):
You're all walking in
as a group, yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:08:06):
Monty's there next to
Sam, correct, correct.
So what my traveling companionhere means is she is ready
enough for anything when athreat presents itself, but you
definitely did not come acrossas a threat to us.
Speaker 3 (01:08:26):
Okay, her hand slowly
moves from the grip of her
sword, but she still is verywary of Sam.
Speaker 4 (01:08:35):
Sam takes her hand
down.
She had like a half smile onher face.
She's like oh, you don't wanttrouble, that makes sense.
You know, normally it's just inthe bars that I fight or with.
She points at Monty and GlennLike actually knowing these two,
but otherwise I try to bepretty peaceful.
Speaker 6 (01:08:58):
It's not really my
profession to Don't worry, sam
Soon, we will find someadventure and the excitement you
are looking for, but for now Ido believe Jute is quite an ally
.
Speaker 5 (01:09:12):
She is very
respectful in our eyes, oh sure
it kind of is your profession, but that's okay.
Speaker 3 (01:09:19):
Yeah, yeah, aren't
you a barbarian?
Fair enough.
Speaker 4 (01:09:23):
That's a class not a
profession?
Hello, I'm a merchant.
That's a class, not aprofession.
Hello, I'm a merchant.
Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
You're an instrument
maker.
Speaker 1 (01:09:30):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:09:30):
Didn't your business
close down?
I mean not technically, no,because Glenn bought something
from her.
Speaker 3 (01:09:37):
Oh, fair, fair,
alright.
So the constable stops after acouple blocks and she says uh.
The constable stops after acouple blocks and she says Okay,
uh, which scene would you liketo go to?
Do you want to go to where Ifound Jarmy, or would you like
to go to where the second murderoccurred?
Speaker 5 (01:09:59):
Uh, let's go to the
second murder scene first.
Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
That's uh, that would
definitely be my recommendation
first.
That's uh, that woulddefinitely be my recommendation.
So sorry, just lookingsomething up real quick, all
(01:10:30):
right, so after a couple, theconsole continues walking after
a couple blocks she turns into adark alley turned into a dark
alley, yeah, it's pretty darkcompared to the how light it is
outside like a transformer.
Speaker 5 (01:10:50):
Yeah, uh how big of a
dark alley did she turn into?
Speaker 3 (01:10:53):
uh, pretty big dark
alley yeah she trained?
Speaker 5 (01:10:56):
did she cast the
spell?
Speaker 3 (01:10:58):
that's why we don't
get anywhere uh so so poor
leadership.
After a couple of blocks, theconstable turns into a dim,
narrow alley where a chill misthangs in the air.
It mutes the sound of the cityin the background.
(01:11:21):
The alley is bordered with tall, dilapidated buildings.
They lean precariously over thecobblestones on the street and
they cast deep shadows.
Even now during midday, theconstable has gotten rather
quiet as she's walked down thealley and you can see her in
expressions she's become alittle somber, clearly disturbed
(01:11:44):
by what she's seen here and thehistory of this alley.
About 60 feet into the alleyitself, the recent murder is not
.
You can't miss it.
It has not been cleaned.
There's still blood everywhere.
The ground is littered withrefuse and debris and there's
(01:12:08):
tracks all over the place in themud.
You can see rats scuttlingthrough the shadows and the
trash around you and theoccasional cry of a seagull
overhead breaks the silence ofthe alley.
You can see where the body orwhere the blood most of the
(01:12:31):
blood was and where the body was, as the constable points you to
an area and you can still see acouple marks from where the
body laid.
But all around it seemed to benew tracks all over the place
from the mud and the cobblestone.
Speaker 5 (01:12:46):
How long ago did the
murder happen?
Speaker 3 (01:12:49):
Two days ago.
Speaker 4 (01:12:53):
Is there a?
Speaker 5 (01:12:55):
I'm sorry, is there a
chalk outline?
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
No, there's no chalk
outline.
Speaker 5 (01:13:01):
Has it rained?
Speaker 3 (01:13:02):
It has not rained.
Speaker 4 (01:13:04):
Amateurs.
Speaker 5 (01:13:06):
They didn't tape it
off either.
Speaker 3 (01:13:08):
No, no tape either,
nines.
Speaker 2 (01:13:11):
Nines, this is a fun
scene.
Was any magic used here?
Speaker 3 (01:13:24):
I'm not sure about
that.
I have not seen any scorchmarks, any ice formations.
I have not seen any kind ofresidual effects of magic that
I've come across before.
So, to the best of my abilities, no, I've not seen any magic
used here.
Speaker 2 (01:13:42):
Oh then how were they
killed?
Speaker 3 (01:13:46):
They were stabbed A
lot.
Speaker 1 (01:13:51):
Oh, I thought it was
a ghost lantern.
Speaker 5 (01:13:59):
So Glenn will go get
closer to the scene and
investigate.
I thought it was a ghostlantern?
Speaker 3 (01:14:06):
Alright, alright,
okay, so Glenn, roll me a
survival check.
Speaker 5 (01:14:21):
Not an investigation
check.
Speaker 3 (01:14:22):
Nope survival.
Of course Investigation checkNope survival.
Of course, eleven, eleven.
Okay, you notice tracks, somenew, some old, but you can't
really distinguish anything thatattracts from one creature to
(01:14:43):
another.
Roll me an investigation, check.
Attracts from one creature toanother?
Roll me an investigation check19.
Okay, you can determine thatthere are, that in this area
there was no magic used, butjust based off of the scene.
(01:15:07):
There's no scorch marks, no iceformations, nothing like that.
But you do see that the bloodseems to have.
The blood seems to have soakedinto the mud and the
cobblestones and you do see acouple drops of blood on the
cobblestones leading down thealley Towards.
Speaker 4 (01:15:26):
You see a couple
drops of blood on the
cobblestones leading down thealley Towards the way we came in
, or is there?
Speaker 3 (01:15:31):
another exit out here
, the other side of the alley.
Speaker 5 (01:15:34):
yes, so is the alley
open on both ends.
Speaker 3 (01:15:39):
Yes, it is open on
both ends.
Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
Okay.
What is it?
If it's not open on both ends,is it an alley?
I?
Speaker 3 (01:15:49):
don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:15:51):
Why not?
It's an alley.
All it's got to do is it's anon.
It's a passageway that goes to.
Okay.
An alley is just between two.
It's a roadway between twothings.
It's not an actual road, it'sjust a small.
Speaker 2 (01:16:06):
Yeah, but it has to
be between two things not just a
dead end right Between twobuildings.
No, I mean between two.
Like other paths, I thought.
Speaker 4 (01:16:15):
Is it point to point
or just like it doesn't matter.
I think we're it's fun to thinkabout, right?
I love this shit.
Speaker 3 (01:16:26):
Fuck you, this is.
I'm not here because you guysare just fun to be around.
You're all a bunch of nerds.
Speaker 5 (01:16:29):
And I fucking thrive
on that energy.
So Glenn is going to follow thetrail of blood.
Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (01:16:37):
Anybody else?
No, nothing else.
Speaker 3 (01:16:40):
Like I said, it's
been a couple days.
Anybody else looking around?
Speaker 6 (01:16:43):
Yeah, monty is just
kind of looking around to see
what he sees.
Sam is also looking around.
Yeah, monty is just kind oflooking around to see what he
sees sam is also looking aroundall right listening to whatever
nines is not looking around, Ifigured as much.
Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
The truth is surfing
the web all right, sam, and I'm
laying on his phone notes.
Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
Can you please like?
Speaker 3 (01:17:02):
calm your gen x tits
sam and monty, give me a
survival check.
Speaker 1 (01:17:12):
You're not in a
forest.
Speaker 6 (01:17:20):
Natural 20 for a 26.
Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
Holy shit.
Sample to 17.
Speaker 6 (01:17:22):
Alright.
Speaker 3 (01:17:25):
Sam, you see, in the
tracks you can determine that
there are old tracks and newtracks.
But the old tracks you notice, have they're.
They look like almostslithering through, like a few
large snakes Slithered throughthe mud in the area.
And, sam, or not Sam, monty, asyou're looking at the tracks
(01:17:57):
you get a recognition of acreature that you have only
heard of from stories of some ofthe elders in your village,
called a skoom S-K-U-M.
Speaker 6 (01:18:12):
Tracks of a skoom
S-K-U-M.
Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
S-K-U-M.
Speaker 6 (01:18:17):
That was not even
close to how I spelled it.
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
S-K-U-M.
And so these coomers, you saythey're common, or?
Speaker 3 (01:18:29):
coomers.
Monty hasn't said anything yetyeah, nobody said anything.
Speaker 6 (01:18:37):
Monty's going to say
that himself.
Is it a?
Speaker 5 (01:18:39):
scoom with an M or an
N.
Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
M Mike.
Speaker 6 (01:18:42):
Mike, yeah, s-k-u-m.
Monty feels like he's in aforest.
Right now.
He's not in a forest, but hegot a good enough roll.
He feels like this is a forest.
Speaker 5 (01:18:53):
How would I have not
noticed that track?
Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
They're two days old.
They're not even feet.
Speaker 6 (01:19:01):
He's good at this
stuff.
You had to roll for it, man.
Speaker 4 (01:19:04):
You cheated on
different stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:19:06):
I'm 11.
Speaker 6 (01:19:08):
Actually.
So Monty knows what a skoom is,but Matty has no freaking idea
so let me go ahead and Googlethis.
Speaker 5 (01:19:17):
Well, I mean, that's
what I did.
Speaker 6 (01:19:22):
Oh, it's like a, it's
a mermaid, it's an Ursula, so
it's a humanoid on the top and asquid on the bottom.
Yeah, it's Ursula.
There we go.
So this is like the littlemermaid.
Oh, I get it.
It's punny Hybrids of human andfish.
Speaker 3 (01:19:48):
So Fucking fish, oh
um.
Hybrids of human and fish.
So fucking fish?
Uh oh, maddie or monty mineswould never monty, uh.
Scooms are amphibious humanoidcreatures that, uh, originally
were created by malevolentavalists.
They're typically used assoldiers for dark entities.
They have green to gray skinthat appear wet or looks like
(01:20:12):
they're sweating at all times.
They have a humanoid form, butthey're distinctly inhuman,
featuring a combination offish-like and amphibious traits.
Their bodies are extremelymuscular and they're streamlined
for swimming.
Human, featuring a combinationof fish like and amphibious
traits.
Their bodies are extremelymuscular and they're streamlined
for swimming.
They have webbed fingers andtoes that aid in their aquatic
capabilities.
They have several large, unblinking eyes that are adapted
(01:20:35):
to dark environments, specifically deep waters, and
they have a mouthful of sharp, ragged teeth.
They're known for their psychicand physical abilities they can
get in close range are orfar-range combat, and, though
they're not very intelligentoverall, they are typically
(01:20:56):
acting on orders of of theircreators or, and then scooms are
created from other beings.
Speaker 6 (01:21:05):
Okay so if Monty and
a scoom in a dark room together
which one would be able to seethe other.
Speaker 3 (01:21:14):
The scoom would
likely be able to see you first.
Speaker 6 (01:21:17):
But Monty has
darkvision Darkvision.
Speaker 3 (01:21:19):
Yes, I know that so
does the scoom.
Actually, nines also hasdarkvision Darkvision yes, I
know that so does the ScoobActually.
Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
Nines also has
darkvision.
Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
Glenn has darkvision.
What about Sam?
Does Sam have darkvision?
Speaker 5 (01:21:32):
No.
Speaker 3 (01:21:33):
No.
Speaker 4 (01:21:34):
Great.
Speaker 6 (01:21:35):
Okay, I love this.
Speaker 4 (01:21:42):
In fact.
Speaker 6 (01:21:42):
Monty looks around,
he points at the ground and he
sees.
He primarily he looks to Ninesand then quickly like, focuses
away from Nines and looks overto Glenn Because Nines is just
looking
Speaker 1 (01:21:56):
around the alley like
.
Speaker 6 (01:22:00):
I see Nines being the
teenage girl playing on her
phone uh nine stole my monty'suh was an ever-flowing chalice
and created beer with it orsomething, um, anyway.
So monty looks to glenn and samand says if you, you look here.
I have only seen this a fewtimes, but this is the track of
(01:22:25):
a scum.
A scum, I am dead certain on it.
This is, didn't we?
We ran into an aboleth earlier.
I forget what was that.
Speaker 5 (01:22:38):
Well, we saw a
picture of an aboleth.
Speaker 6 (01:22:40):
There's a picture of
an aboleth.
Speaker 4 (01:22:42):
Oh is there?
Okay, no, you're saw a pictureof an aboleth.
There's a picture of an aboleth, oh you're right A picture on
the wall.
Speaker 5 (01:22:46):
It was one of the
guys.
What's his name?
Speaker 6 (01:22:49):
Jeremy.
Speaker 5 (01:22:51):
He drew it on the
wall with his poop.
Speaker 6 (01:22:55):
Jeremy drew a picture
of an aboleth, and aboleths are
known for.
I'm talking about a lisp, nowAboleths are known for
creating'm talking about a lisp,now.
Abilith are known for creatingscooms from other sentient
beings, and I believe that iswhat we are seeing here and he
looks to Constable.
Damn it, jute.
Jute Says did you during theinvestigation of the second
(01:23:18):
murder scene, was a scoom everuncovered?
Speaker 5 (01:23:22):
I don't think they
investigated it.
Speaker 3 (01:23:25):
I don't even know
what that is.
This is the first time I'veever heard that word.
Speaker 6 (01:23:30):
A skoom is a creature
that is created from another
sentient being that iscontrolled by an Aboleth.
Speaker 2 (01:23:38):
Definitely was here
at the time of the murder,
sensei the Lion told me not todo it in the baths anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:23:48):
What he?
Speaker 6 (01:23:48):
says Just don't worry
about it.
I do believe there's quite somefoul play here, potentially
from the scum.
We must continue to dig deeper.
Speaker 5 (01:24:02):
So Glenn will say
well, I found some blood trail
going down this way.
I'm sorry, did I talk over you,justin?
Speaker 6 (01:24:13):
Oh, okay, let's just
make a case.
Let's follow this blood trail.
Speaker 3 (01:24:18):
Okay, so the drops
only go For about 60 feet.
They don't lead out of thealley.
Speaker 5 (01:24:31):
Brandon was raising
his hand.
Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
Oh, I didn't see it.
Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
Brandon Nines is just
looking up at the sky.
Speaker 3 (01:24:41):
Yeah that tracks the
chart Fair enough.
So an alley is just a.
Speaker 5 (01:24:48):
Sorry, an alley is
just a narrow passageway between
or behind buildings.
Doesn't say anything abouthaving an open opening.
Speaker 2 (01:24:57):
Alleyways are so
versatile and I never realized
that, and I love that about them.
Speaker 3 (01:25:03):
Hey, stick with D&D
story.
We learn some things every day, morse.
Speaker 4 (01:25:09):
Sam, I'm Sam.
Speaker 5 (01:25:11):
Nice try, You're
Morse Now Hi.
Speaker 4 (01:25:18):
I'm Morse, sam is
gone and now Moroise is here.
Sam looks over at Monty andsays I don't know what a scoom
is, but these look like tracksfrom a big snake, is that?
Speaker 6 (01:25:37):
related A scoom on
the bottom half.
Is that something of like asquid or an octopus?
So that does track.
Speaker 4 (01:25:49):
Could the tracks that
I see be from a giant squid or
octopus?
Speaker 3 (01:25:53):
Yes, they could.
Speaker 5 (01:25:55):
Oh, that makes sense.
Would Sam know what a squid oran octopus is?
Speaker 2 (01:26:00):
I hope so.
I would say so.
Nines goes and looks at thetracks and says I don't think
this is what you think it is.
It's normally a different color.
What do you mean?
Oh, um, okay, so the way Senseithe Lion explained it to me.
(01:26:22):
Yeah, sometimes, when you arevery happy, the scum will
slither in the mud.
Can we say it that way?
I think you understand.
That is the grossest.
Speaker 3 (01:26:38):
That is the grossest
way to say that I've never heard
.
Speaker 4 (01:26:43):
Sam folds her arms.
I don't understand.
What do you mean?
Speaker 2 (01:26:48):
Okay, so imagine
you're an orc, not like your
kind of orc, like a real orc, like a Cerulean one, and you
want to cut off something's headRight or murder a bunch of
monks.
Speaker 1 (01:27:06):
But first Just one.
Speaker 2 (01:27:11):
Just one, and so
Nines will go on to explain the
birds and the bees, using theattack on his monastery as an
analogy for that.
Speaker 4 (01:27:28):
But where does the
head come off?
Speaker 2 (01:27:32):
Oh, when you apply
the axe to it normally.
Speaker 4 (01:27:37):
Yeah, okay, that
checks out.
I don't.
I think.
I think I I'm seeing thesymbolism, but I think I'm
missing something.
Is it relevant to the murder,or should we just talk more over
beer?
Speaker 2 (01:27:52):
Oh, I like beer.
Speaker 5 (01:27:56):
Murder.
So Glenn will continue to walkdown the alleyway.
Speaker 2 (01:28:00):
Hang on everyone.
Speaker 1 (01:28:06):
I think somebody's
been killed.
Speaker 2 (01:28:09):
Nines has an epiphany
.
Speaker 3 (01:28:13):
So, glenn, after
about 60 feet down the alley,
you don't see any more blooddrops.
Monty has been with you.
I need you both to roll meanother survival check.
Monty got a 21 21 you gotbetter 12 alright, monty, you do
(01:28:44):
see the tracks.
They're lighter because thisarea of the alley is a little
more well-traveled, but you'reable to follow them further down
the alley and you can see thatthey do exit the alley and make
a left.
Speaker 6 (01:28:57):
Monty will say the
blood tracks follow this way and
he leads the way down to theleft.
Speaker 3 (01:29:03):
Finally, a ranger is
doing his fucking job.
Speaker 6 (01:29:05):
It's about time right
.
We're not even in a freakingforest.
Speaker 4 (01:29:15):
Yeah, Council of Jute
follows along Sam realizes, sam
realizes that she and Nineshaven't looked behind and grabs.
Nines gently by the shoulderand urges him to catch up to
(01:29:36):
Glenn okay alright.
Speaker 3 (01:29:41):
So is this a zoom
that we do?
Yes, you do easily.
All right, so there's a zoomthat we do?
Yes, you do Easily.
Yeah, monty's taking a littlebit of time.
He has to stop every couple offeet and make sure that he's
still following the tracks andreassuring directions, and so on
and so forth.
So, yeah, you're easily able tocatch up.
Speaker 4 (01:29:57):
Was Monty using his
nose?
Is he sniffing the ground?
Oh, that'd be pretty good.
What does Monty look like whenhe investigates this blood trail
?
Speaker 6 (01:30:04):
He's just looking
very inquisitively at the ground
.
Speaker 4 (01:30:07):
What's his tail doing
?
What do you see with her cat?
Speaker 6 (01:30:10):
eyes Twitching back
and forth.
Cat eyes are focused.
Are you getting low?
Are you wiggling your butt?
Speaker 1 (01:30:17):
Nope, definitely not
Okay, never mind Alright, so
Okay, never mind.
Speaker 3 (01:30:23):
Alright, alright, so,
so yeah, the trail leads
through several muddy, reekingalleys and eventually, after
about 30 minutes or so ofwalking and tracking, minutes or
(01:30:45):
so of walking and tracking, youend up at a large warehouse
that has a ship suspended overthe docks does it smell like
perfume?
Speaker 5 (01:30:51):
not from where you're
at no Glenn will turn and look
at jutes.
Is this the warehouse?
Speaker 3 (01:30:59):
I think it is this is
counselor Dory's warehouse.
Speaker 5 (01:31:03):
yes, so do you have
family in this town Other than
you know our grandmother?
Speaker 3 (01:31:18):
She looks a little
confused for a second and then
she remembers.
Speaker 5 (01:31:21):
She goes oh, oh, yes,
I have, I have a younger
brother here okay, so we'regonna go into this warehouse and
typically when we go and dostuff it causes problems and oh,
(01:31:45):
but only fire and things likethat yeah, and chaos and
explosions and sometimes thingsturn to stone.
But, um, do you want to comewith us?
And I'm going to extend aninvitation that if things go
awry and you can't stay on theconstable group anymore, you can
(01:32:08):
come with us.
But I just want you to knowthat there might be some danger
of you not being able to do yourconstable-y duties anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:32:19):
I can't follow you in
there, especially during the
day that place is normallypretty busy with workers.
Anymore.
I can't follow you in there, okay, especially during the day
that place is normally prettybusy with workers.
But even if so, my brother'shere I don't think I could leave
him.
Speaker 1 (01:32:32):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (01:32:34):
That's fine.
Just know that if you need to,you can come with us.
Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
I appreciate that.
I mean the only way, as long asI can't leave him.
Something absolutely terriblewould have to happen to him for
me to leave.
How old is he?
He's in his early years.
He's an adult now, so a youngadult.
He's 14 or 15 years old.
All right, all right 15 yearsold.
Speaker 5 (01:33:01):
Alright, alright.
So why don't we just meet inthe bar in this evening?
Speaker 3 (01:33:09):
Which one?
Speaker 5 (01:33:11):
The bar, whatever one
we're staying at, I can't
remember.
Speaker 2 (01:33:14):
Oh, the tavern yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:33:16):
The salty leg.
Speaker 1 (01:33:19):
Oh, you mean the Bard
?
Speaker 3 (01:33:21):
Rock Cafe.
Speaker 6 (01:33:25):
Oh yeah, the Bard
Rock.
Yeah, why don't you meet us atthe?
Speaker 5 (01:33:27):
Bard Rock.
Speaker 6 (01:33:27):
Cafe leg.
Oh, you mean the bard rock cafe.
Speaker 2 (01:33:28):
Oh, yeah, the barbara
.
Yeah, what do you mean?
How could you forget?
Yeah, of course.
Yeah, it's a case of thebarbers, not great with names.
Speaker 3 (01:33:34):
Yeah, it's Gladiators
, listen I love punny names and
I'm a little upset that youforgot Bard Rock Cafe.
All right, yeah.
(01:33:58):
So the constable says yeah, Ithink that's a great idea.
Do what you need to do here, don't try to cause trouble.
If you're just going in to askquestions, now would be a great
time If there are other thingsthat are happening.
There's normally pretty heavypatrols in this area during the
(01:34:19):
day and there's a lot of workersworkers so they can easily
summon help.
Speaker 5 (01:34:27):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:34:28):
I hope it's help for
us.
Speaker 3 (01:34:31):
No, I don't.
I thought I was pretty clearabout that.
Speaker 4 (01:34:36):
It's not help for us.
I feel like we're on the goodguy's side.
Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
Yeah, everybody does.
Oh, no, actually I am literallyone of the embodiments of good.
Speaker 5 (01:34:49):
Okay, so we'll see
you in a couple hours.
Speaker 4 (01:34:59):
Is that early
afternoon?
I'm guessing.
Speaker 2 (01:35:01):
She didn't sound like
she believed me.
She said, okay, but it was sucha.
I don't understand that tone.
Speaker 4 (01:35:08):
Sam Pat's you on the
back, I believe you.
Speaker 5 (01:35:13):
Thanks, Morsan.
Yes, it's early afternoon.
Speaker 3 (01:35:17):
Yeah, it's.
Some of the clouds have rolledin, but the daylight's still
shining bright.
It's mid-afternoon right now.
Speaker 5 (01:35:29):
Okay, so Glenn will
look at the group and say I can
try this once she leaves.
Speaker 3 (01:35:38):
Yep, she has walked
away.
Speaker 5 (01:35:40):
So Glenn will say, I
can sneak in and check things
out.
Speaker 4 (01:35:47):
I think we're all
pretty sneaky.
We could go together.
Speaker 5 (01:35:51):
Glenn looks at Sam.
Why don't you?
Let me try it first?
Speaker 4 (01:36:04):
I mean, if you say so
, you're the pro, I'm just yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:36:10):
Alright, so Glenn is
going to try to sneak in.
Speaker 3 (01:36:17):
Okay.
So in the front you can seethat there are there are a
couple patrols on the streetwalking back and forth.
They look like guards in thathired armor that you're familiar
seeing them in.
You do see, four looks likehired guards in the front of the
(01:36:38):
warehouse itself.
They are not dressed uniformly, they seem to be.
One of them is wearing a shortsword, but the others are
carrying daggers and clubs.
But they're all largeindividuals, all human males,
more like thugs.
(01:36:58):
So what you see in front of youis you see the guardhouse.
Is you see the guardhouse?
Sorry, not the guardhouse thewarehouse right in front of you,
the entrance, the main entrance.
There there's a fence off tothe left and then to the right
there is a hanging ship thatseems to be attached to the
warehouse.
It doesn't even look like itcan be lowered into the water
(01:37:19):
anymore.
Speaker 5 (01:37:24):
Okay, is there a way
to sneak in?
Speaker 3 (01:37:27):
You could.
Your options are Actually giveme a.
Give me an investigation.
You're so good at that.
Speaker 5 (01:37:40):
Better than.
Speaker 3 (01:37:42):
Survival.
Speaker 5 (01:37:43):
Yeah, better than
survival 14.
Speaker 3 (01:37:45):
Okay, so you see a
couple options.
You could try to disguiseyourself as a worker and head
right through the front door.
You could try to sneak aroundand hop the fence, or you could
try to climb up the side wallthat is hanging over the water
and into the ship.
Speaker 5 (01:38:06):
I think climbing is
the way to go.
Speaker 3 (01:38:09):
Glenn is very good at
climbing.
Speaker 6 (01:38:11):
I've never had
problems climbing ever.
Speaker 5 (01:38:14):
So of those, my skill
set would be disguise.
I believe, yeah, disguise kit, what do I even roll for that?
Speaker 3 (01:38:24):
for disguise kit, you
would roll's an intelligence
role.
Speaker 5 (01:39:01):
Where did you get
that from?
Speaker 3 (01:39:04):
Just the Reddit
thread that I'm on how do
disguises work?
Speaker 4 (01:39:10):
What do you get when
you click disguise kit?
Speaker 3 (01:39:12):
There you go, roll 20
.
Speaker 4 (01:39:29):
So what I'm seeing is
it's a pouch cosmetics, hair
dye and small props that letsyou create disguises that change
your physical appearance.
Proficiency, with this kit, lets you add your proficiency
bonus to any ability checks youmake to create a visual disguise
.
Speaker 5 (01:39:49):
I would say deception
is the best way.
Speaker 3 (01:39:51):
No, it's not
deception.
I thought it might be.
Speaker 5 (01:39:55):
That's what disguise
is, or performance.
Speaker 3 (01:40:00):
Or when you're acting
like that.
Yeah, absolutely.
But you have to disguiseyourself as the worker first,
which seems to be a straightroll.
So just let everybody knowwe're going to get through this
(01:40:21):
disguise part.
Speaker 5 (01:40:22):
we should take
another 10 to 15 minutes, then
we're going to call it fromthere okay, so um glenn will put
on the disguise, using thedisguise kit, as well as um his
prestidigitation.
He will use that to augment it,to make it work better, and,
using that, he will disguisehimself as a thug and he'll wear
(01:40:46):
a helmet to cover his head sothat they can't see his ears
what are you using withprestidigitation?
just to help him with thedisguise, to help shape it and
clean it and actually make someof it look dirty, like some of
his clothes looking not aspristine To sell it.
Speaker 3 (01:41:07):
Yeah, okay, so you're
making marks on your clothing
Understood.
Speaker 5 (01:41:09):
Yeah, All right.
So basically using it as anassist to his disguise, and just
so you know, he is a charlatanand that is his background.
That's part of what hisbackground is is to be a
disguise person.
Speaker 3 (01:41:28):
I was planning on
letting you roll a d20 with
advantage.
Speaker 5 (01:41:31):
Okay, Just a straight
d20?
.
Speaker 3 (01:41:37):
Straight d20.
Speaker 5 (01:41:50):
There's no way to do
a straight d20 with advantage.
Speaker 4 (01:41:54):
Sure, you can right
click, can't you Know?
Speaker 3 (01:41:57):
as true is food.
Speaker 5 (01:41:58):
Yeah, yeah, I'm just
gonna right click it, or I, or
I'm just going to roll two ofthem 18.
Speaker 3 (01:42:05):
Okay, Okay, All right
.
So you scuff up your clothingpretty well.
You're able to hide your earsand you make your clothing look
(01:42:26):
like.
With your kit, you make yourclothing look pretty close to
what the other workers arewearing To the rest of you,
Glenn, you've never seen Glennlike this Dirty, marked up,
ripped and tattered clothing.
Speaker 4 (01:42:46):
This is new to you.
Speaker 5 (01:42:52):
A good disguise,
alright.
So Glen will be watching aroundas people are going and then
try to pick up a box or crate orsomething and walk in there and
act like one of the otherworkers to get into the.
Did you?
Say there's a window.
Speaker 3 (01:43:11):
Not near the door
itself.
No, there are a couple windowsup on the second floor.
Yes, okay, so I will go in andbasically up on the second floor
.
Speaker 5 (01:43:19):
Yes, Okay, so I will
go in and basically act like one
of the other people and walk inthrough the front door.
Speaker 3 (01:43:33):
Okay.
So yeah, you find a box thatthe other workers are picking up
and you start carrying it tothe front door.
The guards are looking overeverybody and the guard with the
short sword eyes you for asecond and stops you and says I
(01:43:55):
don't think I've seen you herebefore.
Speaker 5 (01:43:58):
You didn't see me.
I bumped into you like 15minutes ago, you don't remember?
Wait, no, that was that guy,and he points over at another
guy Said please, I got to getthis best.
If I don't get this box inthere right now, the foreman's
going to yell at me and I mightlose my job.
And not only that, he'llprobably hit me in the head
(01:44:18):
again.
Speaker 3 (01:44:19):
Give me a deception
roll, glenn, you're good with
this.
Speaker 5 (01:44:24):
So it's a 17, but
it's actually a 21.
Speaker 3 (01:44:31):
Why is it a 21?
Speaker 5 (01:44:32):
Because I cannot roll
below a 10 on anything I'm
proficient in.
Speaker 3 (01:44:40):
Yeah, that's pretty
crazy.
That's under your features andtraits.
Speaker 5 (01:44:44):
That is yep.
That's what I got for a level11.
Which?
One is that Something aboutskillfully, something or another
.
Speaker 3 (01:44:51):
Hang on yeah that
sounds right to me Reliable
talent.
Speaker 5 (01:44:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:44:56):
Huh, crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:45:00):
So anyway 21.
Speaker 3 (01:45:03):
That's a nuts skill
or feature?
Okay, crazy.
So anyway, 21 that's a nutsskill or feature?
Okay, yeah.
So the guard looks, he says ohyeah, I think I, I remember you
bumping into them.
Yeah, please go ahead.
Speaker 5 (01:45:17):
So good, we'll walk
in all right.
Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
So as you walk in,
you see Dozens of workers inside
.
They're moving crates, they'removing boxes and they seem to be
putting them all in piles sothat they can be taken onto
ships.
They're separating them intodifferent areas, different areas
.
You do see a, you see a couple.
(01:45:43):
You see a couple of figures inlarge cloaks that are standing
around that are watching theworkers moving the boxes.
You also see a couple creatures.
You recognize a red slad, whichyou recognize.
(01:46:04):
A red slad which looks like agiant amphibious creature with
webbed feet and large claws, looks like a large frog almost.
But there are two creaturesthat are flying between the two
levels of the warehouse that youdon't recognize immediately.
Glenn, roll me a nature check.
Speaker 5 (01:46:26):
All right, I'm going
to use my.
What do you call it?
Speaker 3 (01:46:34):
Inspiration.
Speaker 5 (01:46:41):
And I rolled the
exact same thing.
Oh no, I didn't, I rolled oneless, so apparently.
Speaker 3 (01:46:45):
I got a seven, so oh,
hold on a second.
Speaker 5 (01:46:52):
Uh, where is that
thing?
Speaker 3 (01:47:12):
Oh, so, knowing that
Glenn doesn't recognize it, he
tries to speak to Arnold and askArnold if he knows what those
things are.
Speaker 1 (01:47:25):
Yeah, you do not get
an answer.
Speaker 3 (01:47:26):
But if you were to
describe them to somebody,
though you don't recognize thecreatures, you do recognize
something that they look like.
The closest creature that youcould say they look like would
be a flying lion with a spikedtail.
Speaker 5 (01:47:42):
Like a griff tail
Like a griffin.
Speaker 3 (01:47:45):
Or a manticore, but
Glenn doesn't know that yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:47:48):
I was going to say a
manticore.
Speaker 5 (01:47:51):
Okay, alright, okay,
so Glenn will be taking this,
taking the box and setting itdown, and he's looking for an
opportunity where things are notlooking at him so that he can
(01:48:11):
dart behind the boxes, and he'salso looking for shady places to
hide.
Speaker 3 (01:48:19):
There are a couple
large piles of boxes.
You could probably hide behindone of them pretty easily.
Nobody's looking directly atyou, but there's a lot of
movement in the area, that'seven better.
Yeah, so you're going to try tohide behind one of the boxes?
Yep, okay, yeah, we'll say thatyou're able to do that pretty
(01:48:44):
easily.
You don't mean to roll for itno, no, you, you can if you'd
like no, that's okay all right,uh, so so, yeah, yeah.
(01:49:05):
so you dart behind some of theboxes and there's no movement
behind that pile of boxes.
You're pretty close to a walland you're able to hide between
a couple large crates.
Speaker 5 (01:49:18):
Okay, so I will now
investigate and try to figure
out, see if we can see what'sgoing on and listen and pay
attention.
And of course they're probablygoing to be speaking in Dwarven
or some fucking nonsense.
Speaker 3 (01:49:30):
No, they're all
speaking in common.
Okay, so you see the boxesaround you creates boxes,
packages.
Most of them are marked with apersonal symbol of a business or
an alchemist in the area, butthey all, almost all the boxes
say fragile or handle with care.
And then you can hear justgeneral chatter in the warehouse
(01:49:54):
itself about how hard they'rebeing worked and how little
they're being paid.
A few are considering quitting.
And then you hear the it soundslike a slimy, bubbly voice kind
of speak loudly to a group ofworkers that aren't working hard
(01:50:17):
enough.
And you hear a whip crack andthey start moving once again.
Speaker 5 (01:50:21):
After you hear a whip
crack and they start moving
once again after you hear ascream, okay, um, can we tell
what the voice?
Speaker 2 (01:50:29):
said, yeah, like was
there more than just slimy
bubbly, or no, he doesn'tunderstand the language.
Speaker 5 (01:50:35):
Uh, okay okay, um
Okay.
So can I tell anything that'sin the boxes?
Are any of them that are behindthere?
Can I figure out what's insideany of these boxes?
They are all nailed shut, butdo you have anything that could
(01:51:00):
pry them open?
A hammer, a crowbar?
Yes, okay okay, yeah, you cantry to do it so it'll use some
oil to to try to dampen thenoise any noise that might be
made by prying it open um.
Speaker 1 (01:51:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:51:21):
Okay.
Oh wait, does prest?
I don't know, that won't doanything.
Prestidigitation it can makenoises, but can it make things
quiet?
Speaker 3 (01:51:31):
No, it just can make
noises.
Speaker 5 (01:51:34):
Oh, it can't even
Okay, okay.
Speaker 3 (01:51:42):
Okay, so you're
trying to open a box.
Speaker 5 (01:51:47):
Yeah, at least open
it just slightly enough that I
can peek inside.
Alright box to your left.
Don't forget, I have darkvision.
Speaker 3 (01:51:52):
I understand you have
darkvision, so you pry the box
open.
The wood does crack a littlebit as you do it.
You don't seem to attract anyattention and inside you see
about a dozen green vials thatare not labeled.
They're neatly packaged and itseems like they're very
(01:52:18):
carefully put in there so thatthey're not touching one another
or the box itself.
Speaker 5 (01:52:24):
Okay, did I.
Is it open enough where I canslide my hand in there?
You'd have to move it up alittle bit more, but yes, Okay,
so try to open it so I can getone of them.
Speaker 3 (01:52:36):
Okay.
So you open it a little furtherand more cracking sounds occur
Nobody seems to notice andyou're able to pull out one of
the vials.
Speaker 5 (01:52:48):
Okay, is there
anything else in the box other
than the vials?
Speaker 3 (01:52:50):
Nothing else in that
box.
Speaker 5 (01:53:09):
So Glenn will sneak
away from that box and then go
around the outside of theperimeter looking for a way out.
Are there stairs?
There have to be stairs.
Speaker 3 (01:53:15):
There are stairs to
go to the second floor.
Would, I be able to sneak upthe stairs.
The manticores are flying upand down the stairs, or the
second floor.
It rings the outside, so it's avery.
It's just a pathway around.
The second story.
There's a few doors up thereand there's nowhere to hide, so
(01:53:37):
you could go up there, but you'dbe spotted pretty easily.
Speaker 5 (01:53:39):
Okay, so Glenn will
just continue to around the
perimeter, staying in theshadows, and try to pick up any
more information and see if hesees anything that would help
him figure out if the murdererwas here, well, where the
murderer is, or anything likethat.
Speaker 3 (01:53:57):
Okay, as you go
around the perimeter, you don't
see anything that would openlytell you who the murderer is.
Again, you do see those cloakedfigures, but you can't really
get close enough to them withoutrevealing yourself.
There's no other workers inthat area, so unless you want to
(01:54:19):
walk up, to one of them andwe're all outside during this
time, correct, correct?
Speaker 5 (01:54:26):
Okay, yeah, I think,
yeah, I don't think I.
Speaker 3 (01:54:29):
The workers seem to
be giving them a wide berth.
Speaker 1 (01:54:35):
Sneak up behind one
and pick its pocket.
Speaker 5 (01:54:39):
Um, no, so I will
find my way to an area that
looks like there's.
It makes sense for one of theworkers to be walking from there
and get ready and redawn notredawn, but basically reassume
my worker and just walk out togo get another box.
Okay, yeah, a group of justwalk out to go get another box,
(01:55:02):
okay.
Speaker 3 (01:55:03):
Yeah, a group of
workers walk out and you're able
to get in line pretty easilyand walk out.
Guards aren't really payingattention to who walks out of
the warehouse.
Speaker 5 (01:55:13):
All right, glenn,
we'll go back to the group.
Okay, do I make it?
Speaker 3 (01:55:23):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (01:55:24):
All right, so he will
describe the flying monsters
and then he will let everybodyknow that he found some vial and
he'll pull the vial out.
I don't know what this is.
Does Glenn have any idea whatis in it?
Speaker 3 (01:55:40):
No, glenn does not
have any idea what's in it.
No, glenn does not have anyidea what's in it now monty will
take a look at the vial.
Speaker 6 (01:55:45):
Does he recognize it?
Speaker 3 (01:55:47):
uh, no, there's no
labeling on it.
You don't know what it is thereal reason.
Morris is not here listen, Igave justin an option and he
told me to make him roll for it.
Speaker 2 (01:56:07):
Whatever, it's way
more interesting, oh, for sure.
Speaker 4 (01:56:11):
So Sam after Glenn
explains all this stuff, sam
asks so do we go in now or do wethis vial to Constable Jute?
Speaker 6 (01:56:27):
We have no idea what
this vial is about.
It very well could be nothing.
Speaker 5 (01:56:32):
It very well could be
nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:56:34):
Is this the perfume?
Speaker 2 (01:56:39):
Let me smell it Is
that a good point.
Do you want to smell it?
That's a good point.
Speaker 5 (01:56:43):
Do you want to smell
it?
Speaker 2 (01:56:44):
Nines will grab it
and uncork it and smell it Nines
.
Speaker 3 (01:56:53):
it's an overwhelming
stench.
It almost knocks you off yourfeet.
Give me a constitution saving, throw as.
Speaker 5 (01:57:00):
Glenn sees this
happening, he's going to try to,
if not, grab it away from him,but if he starts to fall, he's
going to try to grab it, snatchit, I uh.
Speaker 2 (01:57:11):
Oh I, what a great
roll.
You did it.
I rolled a 2, but I also have aplus 2 for con save, so it's
actually a 4.
It sounded bad, but it's liketwice as good as you initially
thought Sounds right.
Speaker 3 (01:57:28):
Nines starts to look
a little wobbly and he starts to
fall to the ground.
Speaker 2 (01:57:37):
I am immune to
disease and poison.
Does that make a difference?
Speaker 5 (01:57:42):
No, All right, so
Glenn will snatch it, Stegan no,
no, it does not.
Speaker 2 (01:57:48):
Glenn give me a
sleight of hand check.
Speaker 4 (01:57:53):
Can Sam catch knives?
Thank goodness.
Speaker 5 (01:57:57):
So that.
Speaker 3 (01:57:59):
Yeah, give me an
athletics check.
Speaker 2 (01:58:01):
Am I charmed or
frightened?
Speaker 5 (01:58:04):
No, but it's actually
a 23.
Okay.
And he will be holding hisbreath as he does this.
Speaker 3 (01:58:13):
What you got, Sam.
Speaker 4 (01:58:15):
Natural 20.
Plus 8.
Speaker 3 (01:58:17):
Okay, yeah.
So, sam, you're looking awaywhen it happens and you hear the
stopper come off of this vialand you hear Nine's moan as he
starts to fall to the ground, and you turn.
You turn with one arm andextend and catch him with one
arm and pull him close to youand as you do that, the vial is
(01:58:42):
whipped out of Nine's hand andGlenn goes and grabs it before
any of it spills.
The stopper is laying on theground.
Speaker 5 (01:58:53):
So Glenn will
continue to hold his breath,
reach down, pick up the stopperand put it back in.
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:59:01):
Nines until your next
long rest.
Speaker 2 (01:59:04):
You have a
disadvantage on ability checks
all of them good, let me oh,just like what is the effect
when you're tired.
Speaker 3 (01:59:19):
Yeah, exhaustion.
Speaker 2 (01:59:20):
Exhaustion
Disadvantage on ability checks.
Speaker 5 (01:59:36):
So Glenn will look at
9s and say what did it smell
like?
Speaker 2 (01:59:47):
It smelled like the
worst perfume I've ever smelled.
Speaker 3 (01:59:52):
Alright, alright so
as Glenn was describing the
creature in there.
Monty, nines and Sam, give me anature check.
Speaker 2 (02:00:11):
Oh hey, I rolled an
18 plus 2 for 20.
Speaker 3 (02:00:16):
You have disadvantage
.
Nines I rolled another dice, but this happened before he did
it right Technically, oh, but itdoesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (02:00:32):
Yeah, listen, dm, I
have a message for you, it came
from the universe.
It says I rolled a 19 on mydisadvantage roll.
So yeah, the 18 standsmotherfucker Alright.
Speaker 6 (02:00:46):
So Nines and Monty
Monty got a 19 to the good.
Speaker 3 (02:00:57):
Nines and Monty.
You immediately recognize thedescription of a manticore.
Typically they have a body of alion.
They have a muscular torso andpowerful limbs.
Its head looks semi-humanoid,but it often depicts a grim,
malevolent expression, andsometimes is adorned with a mane
(02:01:20):
of coarse hair or fur thatextends down its back.
Instead of a lion's tail, amanticore has a tail resembling
that of a scorpion.
It's normally equipped withspikes or barbs which can launch
at its prey as deadlyprojectiles.
They're also equipped withdragon-like large and leathery
wings, enabling it to soarthrough the skies.
Does Monty?
Speaker 6 (02:01:40):
know these to be a
good or a bad thing.
Speaker 3 (02:01:43):
Yeah, you both know
them to be pretty evil creatures
.
They're known for theirphysical and aerial abilities.
They're capable flyers, fearsome fighters that use their
claws, teeth and tail spikes.
And, even worse, they're knownto be extremely intelligent
creatures.
Speaker 6 (02:02:09):
Monty gets a worried
look over his face when he hears
Glenn mentioning the manticores.
Speaker 5 (02:02:24):
Okay, glenn doesn't
have any more information.
Speaker 6 (02:02:28):
And I say this is
definitely not good what should
we do next?
Speaker 5 (02:02:35):
Why are they not good
?
Speaker 6 (02:02:39):
They didn't look that
these are not exactly the type
of creatures you'd want to takehome to mom, if you know what I
mean.
Speaker 2 (02:02:49):
Hey, hey, hey, no, no
, no, it's fine.
Hey, listen, hey, why does myvoice sound funny?
What was I going to say?
No, you guys manticores Supercool.
I have learned so many stuffabout them.
Speaker 3 (02:03:13):
This is why drunk D&D
is going to be a great idea.
Speaker 2 (02:03:17):
Sorry, I thought you
said something.
Speaker 1 (02:03:19):
No, I see that you
didn't say anything, alright.
Speaker 3 (02:03:26):
Is there anything
else we want to do before game
night end?
Speaker 4 (02:03:32):
Why end?
Speaker 3 (02:03:37):
Because the next
scene is likely going to be a
fight.
Speaker 4 (02:03:40):
I mean D&D, why?
Why game night?
Speaker 6 (02:03:41):
oh we can talk our
way out of this fight okay or
can you list us?
Speaker 4 (02:03:54):
uh, I think we're
good I think we're good all
right I guess, sam only wants toknow if we are going to do
something about this now or ifwe're going to go meet up with
Jute and then do something.
Sam asked the question and didnot get answered.
Speaker 5 (02:04:12):
I think we should let
Jute know about the.
So first off, I think we shouldhead back to the Bardrock Cafe,
yeah, and get some dinner.
And looking at our friend here,he looks a little wobbly on his
feet.
He might need some rest and wecan talk to you.
Speaker 2 (02:04:35):
Oh no, I'm fine.
Speaker 5 (02:04:37):
Thanks and talk to
her about what I saw in there
with the what was the otherthing you said was in there.
Speaker 3 (02:04:45):
A red slag.
Speaker 6 (02:04:47):
A red slag and the
manticores and those shadowy
creatures and this poison maybebut I did not know if Jude would
actually be able and or willingto help us.
It sounds like she findsherself in quite a predicament
between her brother and her jobin this town.
Speaker 5 (02:05:07):
Right, I don't want
her just to get information.
Speaker 6 (02:05:11):
This might be a
situation we best handle
ourselves.
Speaker 5 (02:05:16):
So do you want to
just go in there and kill
everything?
I'm down.
Speaker 6 (02:05:21):
I mean, it does not
seem like a, it does not seem
like a bad option, all thingsconsidered.
I appreciate Nine's intuitionof something just not smelling
right there, and all thingspointed.
Dorvey, dorvey, not Torvey.
All things pointed to Dorveyand Dorvey pops up up, this is
(02:05:44):
the grand reveal he's comingback it's just Torvy the gnome
with enlarged cast upon him yeah, I'm fine with going in.
Monty grabs his bow off hisback.
Speaker 5 (02:06:06):
Or we could just burn
the place down.
Speaker 6 (02:06:10):
Nobody has fireball.
That's the other campaign.
Speaker 5 (02:06:14):
I have flint and
steel and oil.
Speaker 4 (02:06:17):
That's literally just
one way to make fire happen.
I'm pretty sure, we all haveflint and tinder and fucking
torches right.
Speaker 5 (02:06:24):
Yeah, and oil.
I have flasks of oil.
You can make oil with yourthing, can't you?
Speaker 6 (02:06:31):
If we burn it down,
we will not get any answers.
Speaker 4 (02:06:34):
I have a tinderbox.
Speaker 3 (02:06:37):
Not to mention all
the innocent workers in there.
Speaker 4 (02:06:40):
Nope, figure it out.
They're working for the badguys.
Speaker 5 (02:06:45):
I mean, if we're
