Pantheon is proud to present a mini-series of shows 'Deadicated' to discussing Amazon Studios 'Long Strange Trip: The Untold Story of the Grateful Dead' documentary. Over the next six weeks we will be recapping each Act with guest host Tim Lynch of KPFA's 'Dead to the World' radio program. Tim will be joined by Christian & Peter as well as very special guests that are part of the film, Dead scholars, academics or had another important role in the 50+ year story. The other weekly guest on roundtable will be...'The UnDeaducated'. This guest will know little to nothing of the band and be exposed to them mostly the first time through this film. Be sure to head over to Amazon to watch Act II of the documentary before joining us! The film is directed by Amir Bar-Lev and executive produced by Martin Scorsese. This week's special guest is Steve Silberman, who not only is a Deadhead that has written on the band and has co- produced the Grateful Dead’s career-spanning box set So Many Roads (1965-1995), and Steve appears in Long Strange Trip. He is an award-winning science writer whose articles have appeared in Wired, the New York Times, the New Yorker, and many other publications. He is the author of NeuroTribes: The Legacy of Autism and the Future of Neurodiversity ) published in 2015, it won the Samuel Johnson Prize for non-fiction, and was named one of the best books of 2015 by the New York Times, the Economist, and the Guardian. This week's Undeaducated is Erika Brett. Erika is the vocalist and keyboardist of indie Americana band, The Empty Pockets, from Chicago. She has been featured in Rolling Stone Magazine and her band's latest record, 'The Ten Cent Tour', recently charted on Billboard.
