Magic Barclay (00:42):
Welcome back to A Magical Life.
I'm your host, Magic Barclay.
And today Erin Smith joins us.
Erin Smith, also known as thathealth chick on Instagram, is an
avid health and fitness fanaticwho is expert trained in health
optimization for over 15 yearsand has worked with world

(01:05):
leading health experts, such asDr.
Zach Bush, MD, Dr.
Christine Schaffner, Dr.
Dan Pompa, Mark Groves, and alist of level celebrity health
experts.
She is also the founder, producer, and host of What We
Crave, the emotional eatingsummit.

(01:27):
After 25 years of strugglingwith emotional eating, food
addiction, and shame fasting,Dr.
Erin became obsessed withunderstanding the root cause of
what it is that we really crave.
She's on fire for cultivatingreal, beautiful, honest
conversations that provideroadmaps to healing and how to

(01:51):
make peace with food andultimately yourself.
Let's talk about this.
Erin, welcome.

Errin Smith (02:00):
Hi, Magic.
Thank you so much.
Oh my gosh, I love your accent.
It just makes my intro sound soamazing.
Yeah,

Magic Barclay (02:10):
it's

Errin Smith (02:10):
so fun to be here.

Magic Barclay (02:11):
It's fun to have you here.
Let's quickly touch on shamefasting.
Now that's something that youmentioned.
You've coined, tell thelisteners what shame fasting is,
please.

Errin Smith (02:22):
Yes.
Well, in a 30, 000 foot view, itwas my definition of a health
nut.
like me and 15 years of holistichealth education, that learned
about fasting and then appliedit to, lose weight very quickly
because I was, in a lot of shameabout my emotional eating.

(02:43):
Weight gain fluctuation becauseI was this health expert and yet
I was struggling.
And so I would go on these bonebroth fasts, which bone broth
fasts are amazing, but I wasusing it as a, as a crutch to
just kind of kickstart my weightloss.
Once I.
I gained the weight again overand over again.
I just, I would be like, Oh, I'mgoing to do a fast this month
because it's really healthy whenreally I was just embarrassed

(03:05):
that I had put on weight and Icouldn't figure out what was
going on with me.
So yeah, that's what I calledit.

Magic Barclay (03:12):
I'm glad you mentioned that.
And I can really relate assomeone in functional health and
in the natural health space.
You know, I could be 30 kilosoverweight or I could be 30
kilos underweight and I've beenBoth at various times, but
certainly now being a heavierperson on the scales, people

(03:35):
say, well, why should I listento you?
Because look at your weight, Iguess for me, the difference is
I know what's behind my weight, but there have been those times
where I've done like a threemonth water fast or a juice fast
or, you know, done whatever.
And.
I find it really hard to explainto people, the more you diet,

(04:00):
certainly in menopause times, the more you smash out the
exercise, the more your bodythinks you're in danger.
So doing those savage things toyourself actually puts weight on
because your body goes, Well, crap, now what I'm dying.
Uh, so, you know, let's just putthat out there that whatever

(04:23):
weight you are at the momentlisteners is the weight that you
need to be.
And what you need to address isthe root cause.
Let's just put that out there.

Errin Smith (04:33):
Amen, sister.
I couldn't agree with you more.
And, I, I know a lot of myfriends going through the same
thing where they had, a traumain their life at a young age,
and they have struggled to loseweight ever since.
And just, or just certain thingsin life that, that they,
something got messed up, theirmetabolism got messed up, or
they had a life crisis and theirhealth got, you know, something

(04:54):
happened and they get judged alot.
And, um, It is the ultimatehumbling experience and the
ultimate just compassion to, Imean, never judge anyone because
you just never know what they'regoing through.
And I learned that definitely onmy own through what I
experienced that, um, I was themost healthiest that I'd ever
been with the knowledge and theprotocols.

(05:15):
And yet I was, you know, Themost dead inside I'd ever been
because I wasn't addressing allthe things that had nothing to
do with diet, you know And I wasthe heaviest I'd ever been
because I was a jerk I wasn'tpaying attention to the
emotional component the otherstuff that has nothing to do
with food and you know I had somuch inflammation in my system
and I would put on weight But Iknew I knew all the healthy

(05:36):
things I was doing it perfectlyand it still wasn't Uh, my body
wasn't, working with it becausethere was something else going
on.
And so always, always, alwayshave compassion a thousand
percent for yourself becausethere's a reason for that in
your life.
There's a purpose in it, butalso with, you know, everyone's
going through something and justto have compassion for everyone

(05:56):
is, is crucial.
So yeah.
Thank you for saying that.

Magic Barclay (06:01):
Okay.
So I have a standard threequestions and everyone gives me
different answers and I knowwe're going to be on the same
page with these.
So I'm, I'm really excited.
Here comes your first one.
What can their expertise do toaccelerate health, not just
physical, but also emotional andspiritual health?

Errin Smith (06:21):
Yes, by the way, I love all these questions.
They're amazing.
Um, I'm all about going deep andgoing fast on going right to the
point.
So I love this.
So I can honestly say this justfrom my experience and from
doing what we crave that, wethink that health starts with
the outside and goes in whenreally it's from the inside out.

(06:44):
And.
Looking for me as the healthnut, the health chick, I started
with the physical.
I was like, superfoods, and, youknow, like, look at all these
amazing supplements you can takeand all that, which is great,
and we can talk about that.
But, accelerating your health isfrom the inside out, not the
outside in.
Even though there's a gateway tohealth that, like, it might be,

(07:05):
you know, some great, kalesmoothie that you get got hooked
on and it changed your life.
And that was the gateway intoeverything.
Like we all have our awesomethings that we experienced that
give us so much hope andinspiration.
But that was where I felt that'swhere I.
went wrong is I ended upfocusing on all the physical and
all the supplements and all thesuperfood and all of this is

(07:26):
this and the protocols and theyou know Just everything that
was all physical and Icompletely missed the emotional
and the spiritual and that iswhat I realized when I hit my
rock bottom in my life where Iwas at the unhealthiest as far
as mental, physical, emotional.
I was in my just shit storm, youknow, of life crawling through

(07:47):
emotional quicksand every day, that rock bottom.
It was because I had missed theemotional and the spiritual, and
I wasn't paying attention toeither one of those.
And emotional is the strongestout of all of them.
They, that carries more powerthan anything.
I think from what I've seen isyou can have the most perfect
diet, You could be the mostperfect in every way.

(08:07):
I mean, what is perfect, but youknow what I mean?
And then but you're not lookingat the emotional and it can tank
your life so fast Um, or you'renot looking at the spiritual
that can take your life as wellSo they're all integrated but
the emotional is the strongestand the emotional leads to the
spiritual which then leads tothe physical So they are all
connected and when I startedintegrating all of them That's

(08:29):
when Everything changed, but theemotional was the strongest.
And so I think if you want toaccelerate your health, get into
the emotional root causes ofwhat's really going on, which is
what I learned on what we crave.
and then that connects you tothe spiritual, which, which then
when you start changing thoseand you start, caring for
yourself in a different way thanthe physical, I feel like really

(08:50):
starts to change versus theother way around.

Magic Barclay (08:53):
Fantastic.
And our second standard questionis around wealth, not just
financial, but also personal andemotional wealth.
I know from my own life story,my emotional wealth was really
flagging the whole time, andit's probably something that
maybe in the past, four yearsI've really only achieved.

(09:17):
So what are your top three tipsto creating any kind of wealth?

Errin Smith (09:23):
Yeah, top three tips.
And this can kind of tie intothe last question, which I can
totally expand, on what I didpersonally to, to really create
all of the change.
But, uh, I think wealth again, going back, what is wealth,
right?
To me, wealth is health.
Wealth is The quality of lifeand being able, I think, to live

(09:45):
the life the way that you wantto live it on your terms and
living it all out, fullyvibrant, all in life, just on
fire, mentally, emotionally,spiritually, relationships.
Purpose like that is wealth tome.
It has nothing to do with moneybecause you can have all the
money in the world and you mightbe the most miserable person
ever, right?

(10:05):
There's a lot of people that weknow that are like that, right?
And for me, I think when I lostmy health, I lost everything.
I actually had a freak accident, had a grand mal seizure, brought
me to a lot of clarity in mylife a long time ago before I
even got into health.
And when you lose your health.
there's a quote, healthy peoplehave a thousand wishes and sick

(10:28):
people only have one.
And that's to get, get theirhealth back.
Cause again, you don't haveanything if you don't have
health.
So I think wealth is health.
Wealth is quality of life andliving it the way you want.
So for me, what I learned fromwhat we crave is, well, there's
a lot of things that can causethat you can get to, you know,

(10:49):
to this, like living the way youwant.
But for me, I noticed from allthe 50 interviews that I did
with what we crave.
That it goes really, really, really, really deep, from, uh,
living life on your terms.
And for me, looking at physical, mental, emotional, spiritual is,

(11:12):
is the pie, right?
And fully developing yourself inall of those areas.
I think that's what brings realwealth and then actually doing
the work.
And so for me, it was years andyears of, you know, learning and
learning the protocols andlearning the tools and learning
the supplements.
And, but the real work thatactually brought change in my

(11:34):
life that actually brought likewealth from a monetary
standpoint, but also everythingelse that I wanted to manifest
in my life was actually doingthe work.
So digging into all yourtriggers, all your childhood,
you know, stuff that happened toyou, all your stories of just
all the stories that your mindmakes up that, you know, keeps
you stuck.

(11:55):
looking at your, inheritedtrauma from your parents and
what they went through and theirscarcity mindset with, you know,
their life and seeing how thatimpacted your mindset around
money.
Looking at, again, just yourhistory of your health and how
you can improve it physically,uh, with better nutrition, um,
detoxing, fixing your gut, just.

(12:18):
looking at every single area inyour life and going deep and
then actually doing the work.
So it's one thing to learn, butthen actually digging in and
making those changes.
And I think underneath all ofthat, this is again, going
layers, layers deep.
I think underneath all of thatis worthiness and realizing that
you are worth the most amazinglife because you showed up here

(12:42):
and you're here on purpose.
And.
You didn't just show up just toshow up.
Like your soul came into thisearth, came into this planet for
a reason, and you are worthy ofan amazing life of amazing
health, of having everything youwant.
but it all starts you feel thatyou're worth it.
And so to me, worthiness is atthe core of everything.

(13:04):
And that's when I really lookedat myself and how I saw my
worthiness.
And then I realized, Oh my gosh,I'm a soul here on purpose that
came here.
To show up with with medicinefor the earth like we all did
that's when I noticed thingsstarted to change because I was
like I am Oh, I see myself nowand now okay now let's go like I
love myself more.

(13:25):
So I'm gonna implement All thishealth, good health, nourishing
health stuff for my physicalself, then I'm going to go into
the spiritual.
And then I'm also going to lookat my emotional health and look
at my triggers and actually goin and repair, you know, that,
that issue with my mom and mysister that we never talked
about.
I'm going to actually make achange and I'm going to bring it
up next time.
We're going to talk through it.
Like where you just start tolife starts coming at you in

(13:49):
layers and you just start, youstart uncovering your own
layers.
And then you also start workingon all the other layers that.
you just know you got to work onand then that's, I think what
life starts to shift.
So if you start showing up forlife, life will start showing up
for you.
And then that's when the magicreally starts happening is, so I

(14:10):
know that's kind of a reallyextra firehose deep dive, but I
hope that makes sense, butThat's how I created wealth in
my life full in live in life.
The way I wanted to was juststarting with worthiness,
leaning into my purpose andleaning into that emotional,
physical, spiritual, all thosebuckets, and just getting as
much knowledge as I can andimplementing doing the work.

(14:31):
So yeah.
And like, not just learning, butactually doing it.
So there's a lot of tools andtechniques that I have that I've
learned on what we crave.
There's a lot of amazingsupplements that I can mention
for every single, you know, physical, emotional, mental,
spiritual, like there's so manytools and so many awesome things
out in the world.
But I think that's That's whatbrought me, that's what brought

(14:52):
it full circle for me.

Magic Barclay (14:55):
Fantastic answer.
I love it.
Now that kind of leads us intothe final standard question and
you've already touched on it.
So as coaches, people often say, well, you've never battled your
weight.
What would you know?
So how did you win the war withyour weight just in a nutshell?

(15:18):
And, you know, we were talking alittle bit about my weight is
cortisol weight.
So if I stress about the tiniestthing I put kilos on, so how can
you offer the listeners sometips around managing stress
while they're on their weightloss journey?

Errin Smith (15:37):
So good.
Okay.
So cortisol was what happened tome too.
Um, that, that sort of.
Made everything crumble, to theground where I really had to,
really had to take a deep, adeep dive on what was going on.
So I totally understand.
I wish I had a picture I couldshow everyone, um, how bad the

(15:58):
inflammation in my face got.
that I look like I was deadinside in my eyes, like I was
just numb and dead inside.
And yet I was at the peak of mycareer of like, you know, 10
years of like knowledge and VPof sales.
And I just, I was probably 35pounds overweight.
And that's a lot for me.
Cause I work out really hardand, uh, you know, which was

(16:20):
probably part of the problem, but, uh, I work out really hard.
And so.
You know, for me that was a lotand I'm also very tall and like
I eat really healthy.
So you can, you can see where 35pounds of stress is a lot for
me.
But I hit it really well causeI'm tall.
So where it really started tobuild up in me was in my, my
face.
And I just got really puffy mygut.

(16:41):
I looked like I was about six, seven months pregnant.
I had leaky gut really badbecause my stress was so high.
So I was again, VP of sales.
what happened was I startedtraveling East coast to West
coast once a week, with a threehour time change back and forth
and working about 12 to 14 hourdays.
Um, and I was sitting all daywith working for a narcissist
that just made me viscerallyexplode, like rashes all over.

(17:04):
she was verbally abusive, mentally abusive and, um, the,
the, how I got into that mess isa story in itself, but, it
happened and it brought me to mypurpose.
So I know it's for a reason, butmy cortisol was so high, I
would, number one, I'd besitting all day.
So I couldn't process my stress.
It was just sitting and justkind of vibrating inside of me

(17:26):
all day to where I couldn't evenbreathe.
I couldn't even talk.
I was just like, like she'd callme on, on my phone and, uh, my
whole body would flare up.
it was nuts.
It was the most insanesituation.
And then my sleep was deprivedbecause I was on East Coast,
West Coast time.
So getting up at, 6 a.
m.

(17:46):
You know, Florida was really 3a.
m.
And I'm trying to squeeze out aworkout and do a spin class at 3
a.
m.
So I'm basically stressed out, sleep deprived, and hungry all
day because of the cortisolspike and the sleep deprivation.
And I was trying to just soothemyself.
So I would eat all day.
And that was when keto was, youknow, really popular.

(18:07):
So I would eat.
Eat all the keto fat bombs andthe keto this and the keto that
and just tons of fat, tons ofnuts, which again, there's
nothing wrong with keto.
I was using it to soothe and tonumb out and to just try and
cope.
because that doesn't make youfat.
Well, yes, it does.
If you have buckets of it, yes,it will.
And your gut will blow upbecause it can't digest that

(18:29):
much fat.
And it just, it just exploded.
So the stress of just stress ingeneral made my gut leak, plus
the amount of oil and fat I wastrying to digest, plus the lack
of sleep.
And I would have a wreath retol, which, you know, is in those
keto snacks and so my gut wouldjust end up just exploding
because that wrecks your gutmicrobiome and it makes you so

(18:49):
bloated.
So I was like giving everything, doing everything wrong, you
know, as far as like, justeverything that I thought was
healthy was not healthy for me.
And, I remember going, I am sodead inside.
I feel numb, but I know I'mgoing through this for a reason.
And I'm going to figure thisout.
I'm not going to quit.
It was literally three monthsthat I'd had that job, maybe

(19:10):
even two.
And I was ready to peace out.
And I didn't, I just remember,I'm going to tough this out.
I'm going to find a job that'sright for me, but I'm not just
going to quit.
Like I need to go, there'ssomething inside of this.
I need to experience.
So I'm going to put thisbackpack on.
I'm going to learn whateverlesson I need to learn.
And I'm going to figure thisout.
And I'm going to get to thebottom of this and then we're
going to go from there.
And I'm so glad I did as much asit was, it was a year and a half

(19:35):
of that experience every day,day in, day out.
And that is when I was at my, myheaviest.
That's when I was at my worst.
And, um, again, the photos ofme, I look like a completely
different person.
And that was at the, my highestpoint in my career with the best
knowledge of everything.
And I wasn't looking at, theemotional stuff.

(19:55):
So I, that's when I started tobuild what we crave.
So I said, I am numbing out withfood all the time.
I am something's going on withme that has nothing to do with
the food.
Cause I'm, I know that I'meating way too much and I'm
always hungry.
And I know, I know thatsomething else is up.
What the, what the hell is goingon with me?
Like I know better than this andI'm still doing it.

(20:16):
This is a pattern I've beendoing my whole life.
It's now bottom rock tanking meto the point where I need to
actually really start to diginto this and so What changed it
for me was?
From a cortisol standpoint.
I was already taking supplementsfor stress So and that wasn't

(20:36):
even doing anything so and thisis one of the best products for
stress so The number one productis Nanolene.
I've ever tried.
Um, that's one of the companiesI used to work for.
I don't get paid for sayingthat.
Let's put a pin in that and I'llcome back and explain that one.
Cause that one's a game changerfor stress.
Clinically proven to reducecortisol makes you feel amazing.
Uh, I was drinking like five ofthose a day that wasn't doing
shit.

(20:57):
So you can tell my cortisol wasstill struggling.
Um, it was, it was rooteddeeper.
So back to our, you know, whatwe were talking about earlier,
it was, it was rooted in one, myown personal boundaries.
And two, You know, her as anarcissist, as an abusive boss,
I needed to step away from that.
And then I also needed to getmyself basically out of that and

(21:20):
into peace.
So I toughed it out for a yearand a half, started building the
interviews for what we crave.
and then I finally got a joboffer a year and a half later,
took it and got out and my momhad a stroke.
So it forced me to move closerto my mom, which then led me to
be able to not go back to thatoffice.

(21:40):
And so I was able to get out ofthat office, get out of the job
eventually and get myself intopeace because from a cortisol
standpoint.
you have to be able to get outof the root cause of what's
causing the stress.
Now, if you can't, there's greatthings you can do to support
yourself, but if you can, youhave to, whether that's a toxic

(22:02):
relationship, work relationship, family relationship, you have to
be able to pull yourself out ofthat.
Another thing that I did was,um, I got myself into nature
more and got out of the sittingall day.
Okay.
Getting out from behind mycomputer and starting to connect
in nature and with humans andgetting sunshine and putting my

(22:25):
feet in the ground andconnecting to the earth and
literally just getting outsidefresh air, breathing, uh,
sunshine, like the, all theelements that are free are
amazing for stress reduction.
But again, if you're in a toxicjob, it's not going to matter
much.
Right.
Cause I was, That was partiallyme for, you know, my whole life.
I was, I was getting nature, butyet I was in this toxic job.

(22:47):
So, if you can remove yourselffrom those situations, if you
can't, then there's a leveldeeper with rooted in, um,
boundaries and worthiness.
So that's what I realized isthat.
I could have whatever job Iwanted and if I'm, good on the
inside, no one can touch me.
If I'm confident in who I am, ifI have boundaries, if I have, a

(23:09):
connection to myself and mypower, nobody can touch me.
There might be, you know, aclient I have that, or a friend
or whatever, someone might saysomething that's awful to you
and or you get in a toxicsituation and you know when to
say no, you know when to have aboundary, you know how to
communicate, you know how tospeak your voice and speak your
truth and they can't touch youbecause you know that has

(23:30):
nothing to do with you.
It's, it's, it's them that'sgoing through it, right?
And it's them that's, they got, they got their shit that they're
dealing with.
And so when you can separate andgo, I'm not responsible for your
emotions.
I'm not responsible for you.
I'm, I'm going to care, but I'mnot going to carry your stuff.
I'm not going to try and makeyou happy.
I'm not going to people please.
And just make you happy.
I wouldn't do any of that.

(23:51):
I used to do that all the time.
And that's what it was, is I hadno boundaries with my boss.
I couldn't tell her no.
I would stay up till 3, 4 a.
m.
working on a project.
I would, you know, Um, doanything she wanted whenever I
would say, yep, I can do that.
Oh, and then oh this person justquit Oh, let me just take on
their work and put it on myplate.
And yeah, I can do that, too Oh,yeah, you need me to do that,

(24:11):
too Sure, because I don't have ahusband or kids so I can take
that on I had zero boundaries.
I never could use my voice Ididn't even know what worthiness
to myself meant.
I didn't even know that I was apeople pleaser.
I didn't even know that I had noboundaries.
I just thought I was being agood employee and I was just
being like the good, you know, gold star, you know, get my gold

(24:31):
star.
And I was seeking approvaloutside myself.
And that's what caused all of itwas not feeling worthy enough on
the inside, which was my ownwork.
And then seeking validation fromsomeone else and people pleasing
until I got it.
And.
Seeming like that was the rightthing to do is what ended up
tanking me.
So once I realized I got, Ilooked at my worthiness, I got

(24:54):
coaching on that.
I got coaching on boundaries.
I got coaching on my triggers.
I got coaching on peoplepleasing and that you are worthy
of sleep.
You're worthy of saying, no,you're worthy of all these
things.
Then that's what actuallystarted to change it for me.
And.
When I started recording forwhat we crave, it was almost
like all of the, the interviewsthat I had, everything started

(25:18):
to, like wired my brain in a waybecause I was interviewing all
of these people all the time.
And I just started learning allof these techniques and all
these tools.
And then, and once I integratedall of that and I got myself out
of my toxic job and I startedjust focusing on nourishing
versus neglect.
And I, I didn't even measure my,I wasn't even weighing myself.

(25:39):
The weight just came off becauseI started looking at the deeper
stuff.
And I started cooking from home.
I started, um, I stopped goingout to eat cause a lot of those
restaurants had toxic oils.
Um, they have toxic like seedoils, which are highly
inflammatory.
So I started cooking from homeusing avocado, olive oil, things

(25:59):
like that.
Um, started sleeping.
And started doing all the thingsthat brought me peace from the
inside out, not the outside in.
And that was, that was how myweight came off.
And it didn't happen quickly, but I noticed You know, it
wasn't like, Oh, I lost 10pounds in like 10 days.
It wasn't like that.
It was just, it was like these,as I was shedding my own layers,

(26:21):
my weight came off too.
You know, as I was shedding mylayers of like my insecurities,
my worthiness, my people, pleasing all that old identity,
the weight came off with it.
And granted I've worked on mygut health.
I worked on sleep.
I worked on, you know, there'ssome physical things I did, but
it was all emotional.
It started, it started there andit started with learning and

(26:41):
becoming aware of it.
And, um, And so that's, that'smy story of how, how I, I found
my peace.
I think weight loss is justfinding peace from the inside
out, honestly.
cause your body will change.
once you can figure out what'sgoing on, the body is a
miraculous machine and it canabsolutely heal.
It's just getting deep intothose roots of what's really

(27:03):
going on.
So that's my deep dive.

Magic Barclay (27:07):
Okay, so you mentioned Nanolene, what is that
and what are some other productsthat people might be looking at
if they're in that kind ofcortisol weight roller coaster?

Errin Smith (27:20):
Yes.
So Nanolene, there's a fewproducts that are amazing.
One, Nanolene is one of myfavorites, because it tastes
really good and it makes youfeel amazing.
it's one of the companies I usedto work for, companies called
Biopharma Scientific.
They're out of San Diego,California.
It's a, it's actually apractitioner line that, so it's
very high quality.
It's not something you're goingto find at a grocery store.

(27:42):
It is high quality.
And that's what I'm all about.
The high quality.
Does way more amazing things anda less quality, less expensive
version.
So always go for the betterquality.
But, it is a five in one productand the formulators from France.
So he's a genius and he makeseverything taste good.
And it's organic non GMOsweetened with stevia.

(28:03):
Like the highest quality.
I've never found anythingbetter.
And I've, we, I've done so muchresearch on all these products
from working for the company.
I, I'm actually drinking itright now.
If you can see this, um, it'slike a light pink.
It's a berry flavor.
I put it in a shaker cup withice and water.
And all it is, is um, green tea,B vitamins, chromium fiber.

(28:23):
There's a fat burner, a naturalfat burner in it and
ashwagandha, a clinical dose ofashwagandha.
So in a nutshell, what this doesis, you know, when you get those
mid morning, mid afternoonslumps, where you get really
hangry and you're like, I justwant something refreshing.
I want to drink of some kind.
But like, I don't want to pay 7at Starbucks for something

(28:43):
nasty, you know, not to rep onStarbucks, but you know, or, you
know, it's something that'sgoing to just make you feel like
crap.
You know, this something that'sclean, but like refreshing and I
just want to get my stress down.
And I, maybe you're on a planwhere you're trying to not snack
as much, you're doingintermittent fasting or
something where you're justgetting the, I want something
and you want something sweet.
That's going to curb that sweettooth.

(29:04):
That's where that comes in.
It's a cure for the hangries,but I, I use it whenever.
Um, but what it does is it, uh,it's clinically proven to reduce
stress with ashwagandha, whichis an adaptogenic herb.
So it's going to, that regulatesyour stress.
So if you're really stressedout, it's going to bring you
down and just make you feel.
Calm and just like woosah, butif you're also in a funk and

(29:26):
you're kind of irritable andkind of in a depressed funky
mood It's going to bring you upand help you feel balanced and
just kind of just happy So a lotof people use it as a as a
substitute to help withdepression too because
ashwagandha is amazing Andagain, it's a high end
clinically proven nutraceuticalin this one.
So you feel it immediately.
It's got really greatabsorption.

(29:47):
So it goes right into thesystem.
So not only does your moodchange, but you get the green
tea and the B vitamins.
So you get this beautiful cleanenergy.
Then you have a fiber in it.
So you stay full.
Then you have a natural fatburner from green coffee bean
extract.
Which is clinically proven toreduce body fat.
So it just has a little kickerin there to help kind of
jumpstart your, your, uh, yourgoals.

(30:08):
and then chromium, whichregulates your blood sugar.
So instead of taking like 10different supplements, you can
take one and it tastesdelicious, especially on a hot
day.
or when you're traveling andyou're on an airplane and you
just feel funky, like it comesin, in every single situation.
When my mom, uh, had a stroke, Iwas chugging this in the
hospital because it was such ahigh stress situation.

(30:30):
I just was like, I gotta, Igotta stay calm and grounded.
And, it was just a great, um,Sidekick, and I would highly
recommend that it's a littleover a, I think a dollar per
stick pack.
So very, very inexpensive andvery high value and you just
feel awesome on it.
And that was the first thing Inoticed when I started taking
that, just How much lower mystress was and how easy it was,

(30:53):
to lose weight because when yourcortisol is high, you can't burn
fat.
You'll, you'll store it as, asyou know, and as we all know, so
you have to get the cortisoldown.
Another thing you can do issleep it doesn't matter what
supplement you're taking, ifyou're not sleeping, everything,
it is the gateway, I think.
And I'm sure you can agree.
Sleep is everything.
It is the number one thing thatcan either mess everything up or

(31:15):
give you everything you want.
It has a domino effect in everydirection.
So if you can, if you can getgood, deep sleep, your cortisol
will go down.
It is, I know when I wasn'tsleeping, my cortisol was
through the roof and there is, Iinterviewed Barton Scott with
Upgraded Formulas.
Again, I don't get paid to saythis is just pure love and pure

(31:36):
value to help anyone that'sstruggling with sleep.
Their magnesium, It's one of thebest magnesiums and I'm a health
snob when it comes to quality.
Best sleep of my life, deepestsleep.
I didn't even know I could getthat good of deep sleep and wake
up, waking up refreshed usingit.
I don't know.
I was at least like a month andI was like, Oh my God, I feel
like I don't even need coffee inthe morning.

(31:57):
I called Barton.
I'm like, what, what is this?
Like I'm officially a fan.
He's like, it's just really highquality stuff.
It's actually getting into yourcells.
And yeah.
You know, I didn't, I wasn'tgroggy.
I just felt amazing.
And I woke up and my, I couldjust tell my weight loss
naturally was kickstarting withthat as well, because I just
wasn't getting deep REM sleep.
Like when you can get reallygood sleep, magic happens.

(32:20):
So that will drop your cortisolas well.
Highly recommend that.
Another thing is working on yourgut health.
because a lot of times, if youdon't have good gut health, that
affects your sleep as well.
And gut health is like thecenter of the universe for
everything.
So you have to look at guthealth as well.
It's another pillar.
So I interviewed Zach Bush, um,with ion gut health, and that's

(32:44):
clinically proven to seal up allthe leaks in the gut, turn on
the gut, like a Christmas treeand getting it all lit up and
working.
And, um, that was a huge pieceto my inflammation as well.
So I would say those are thetop.
Three, four, stress.
slash inflammation.
there's one more.
GABA is also an amazingsupplement to take just to keep

(33:06):
your brain nice and calm.
but if you don't have GABA, uh,I don't have an actual company
to recommend on that one, butthe, that's another great one as
well.
I know when I started takingGABA, my whole brain calmed
down.
So, um, depending on whereyou're at, if you're in
Australia versus the States, Iknow sometimes it's harder to
get certain supplements.
so those are all great options.

(33:28):
And also breath work, you know, that's one for free if you can't
get access to any of these, um,being able to breathe.
I was not breathing at all whenI was in my 15 years of my
career.
because I was working onstraight commission and I would
just go, go, go, go, go.
And I'd never felt safe insidemy own body because I didn't
know when my bills were going tobe getting paid.
So I would, Basically neverbreathe because I was just going

(33:52):
all the time and when I learnedI interviewed Josh Trent on the
power of breath work When youcan actually breathe Again, you
could be sleeping really welland you could be taking
supplements, but if you're notbreathing, you know, you're
cutting your body off of oxygen.
Good luck getting your cortisoldown, right?
So just being able to take thosedeep belly breaths and just
being able to just breathe willhelp with that as well.

(34:13):
so again, but breath work for mewas knowing that I had to
actually feel worthy enough toslow down and feel worthy enough
to just chill out and take abreak and work.
17 to 20 hours a day, you know,so, and becoming aware of how,
how important breathwork is.
And that's a great free hack.
You can look up box breathing, you know, there's all different
types of breathwork.

(34:34):
Um, Josh had an app or stillhave an app called breathe where
he'll actually walk you throughguided, um, breathwork.
And that's an amazing, he'sjust, you just play it and it's
like, he's sitting right next toyou and he just guides you
through it.
That's a great hack as well.
so those are, I would say all ofmy top.
Top ones.
Oh, also, sorry.
One more human connection andhugs.
That's another one.

(34:55):
I wasn't getting, I wasn'thanging out with people in human
form.
I was on planes.
I was in hotels and neverhugging anybody along the way.
I was away from my family for 10years.
and I realized how much humanconnection and physical touch
had a, uh, impact on my stress.
So when I would come home and Iwould snuggle with my nephews, I

(35:16):
would, it's like I was adifferent person.
also I wasn't having sex becauseI was too busy to date and
that's a huge piece of it too.
Just actually having physicaltouch and physical contact.
I noticed my once I wouldactually have human contact, my
stress would drop too.
So if you can just go hugsomebody, that'll help as well.
So there's so many things youcan do, but.

(35:37):
yeah, those are definitely in mytop for sure when I lost all of
those, I was emotionally eatinglike crazy.

Magic Barclay (35:42):
Yeah.
Perfect.
And just on GABA listeners onour website, www.
holisticnaturalhealth.
com.
au, we have our essential oilblends and we do have one that
encourages the production ofGABA.
So definitely jump onto ourshop.
Okay.
Okay.
Before we wrap this up.

(36:03):
Tell us quickly about thesummit, What We Crave.

Errin Smith (36:08):
Yes.
What We Crave was birthed out ofmy own mess, again, because I
had hit such a rock bottom withemotional eating and food
addiction.
And.
so much.
numbing out with food that I waslike, I got to, I got to
actually learn what is going onwith me.
If I can actually learn and getto the bottom of this, I can
change it.

(36:28):
So what we crave is 50 or 60 nowinterviews of it's free, it's
free to watch.
You just go to what we crave.
com and it's all a deep dive inevery single.
Area of life and health, whichis mental, emotional, spiritual,
physical, like we talked about.
And it's a deep dive on the rootcauses of what is underneath
emotional eating, food,addiction, cravings, numbing

(36:52):
with food.
It's really numbing in general, you know, um, but it's really
what, what is it that we'reactually really craving and how
to make peace with food andultimately yourself.
Cause that's, that is what it'sall about.
And.
You know, when you said what's,what's, what was the key thing
for weight loss, it's, it'smaking peace with yourself from
the inside out and just findingpeace, and reconnecting with

(37:15):
yourself from the inside out.
So it's understanding why we dowhat we do, and the answers are
all there, and you just take itall in.
Take it and use it as, you know, tools in your toolbox for your
journey and, and everyoneusually knows which one they
need to do, first, or there'scoaches on there.
You can work with theirsupplements.
There's just real life storiesthat are really healing, but

(37:36):
it's all a road map to, how toget unstuck and off that hamster
wheel.
And it's just a beautiful deepdive.
It's a very real, raw, honest, deep conversations like the one
we're having right now.
So just what we crave.
com and that's it.
And it's being rebranded rightnow.
So in a, in a, by the timelisteners listen to this, it'll
be done.
So you can just jump in and putyour email in and then you'll
