Welcome back to A Magical Life.
I'm your host, Magic Barclay,and today Blair Aby joins us.
Blair Aby developed higherconsciousness meditation after
many years of meditation andyoga and a traumatic year at a
new job with a difficult bosswho was abusing employees.
This forced him to dive deepinto his meditation practice to

stay sane.
As a result, he emerged withnew, vibrant ways of coping with
life's challenges.
He describes himself this way, Iam an explorer who has

In short, Blair is an observer,yogi, and a spiritual toolmaker.
Blair never intended to be anauthor.
Instead, he spent most of hiswork life as an entrepreneur and
business consultant, though hebegan his yoga and meditation
practices over 45 years ago andself exploration Has been his

avocation.
He spent most of his adult lifein the San Francisco Bay area
and has published six books onmeditation, mindfulness,
manifestation, and relatedtopics.

Blair Abee (02:09):
Thank you so much.
I've been looking forward tothis interview.

Magic Barclay (02:13):
And I've been looking forward to having you.
So let's get straight into it.
My first standard question foryou is what can your expertise
do to accelerate health, notjust physical, but also
emotional and spiritual health?

Blair Abee (02:26):
My first book, Magic, is on the subject of the
amazing benefits of meditation.
And what the book focuses on isa couple of things.
First, primarily, the researchthat has been done into the
benefits of meditation formental, emotional, physical, as

well as, spiritual.
methods or means or, or, or, orbenefits, more than 3000 studies
have been done in recent years,in particular, that show a
positive correlation betweenmeditation and the body, the
mind, the mean, everything fromstress, heart disease.

(03:16):
psoriasis, many, physical, andmental and emotional ailments
that people have respondpositively.
to meditation.
So it's really a very fine wayto help improve health and
wellness, which by the way, isgoing to be the subject of my
next book but the, the, thecorrelation is, just, amazing.

(03:39):
and, uh, it's something that is,would be beneficial for people
to take a look at.

Magic Barclay (03:45):
Terrific.
Now we talk about wealth here aswell, and people think wealth is
just financial, but it can alsobe personal and emotional
wealth.
So what are your top three tipsto creating wealth?

Blair Abee (03:58):
wealth, prosperity.
Abundance, is, I think,something that all of us have
access to through spiritualmeans.
And in fact, my book onmanifestation is a book that
focuses really directly on thatnotion.

That, uh, all of us as spiritualbeings, as eternal beings, on
higher levels of consciousness,on fifth dimensional, levels of
consciousness.
Or in the fifth dimension, haveaccess to, wealth, if you will,
that, spiritual beings, haveaccess to everything from love

(04:40):
and joy and peace, abundance,awareness.
growth, evolution, all of thesethings really to my way of
thinking fit into the subject ofwealth.
Now in that book, themanifestation book, I have a
process.
It's real simple, realstraightforward, and is intended

(05:03):
to help people have what theywant in life.
The process goes like this.
I ask, and I'm asking in thiscase, my soul, my higher
consciousness, I ask, But thebest possible outcome related to
interview that's coming up withmagic, the parking place that I

(05:25):
need, where I'm going fordinner, the job interview that
I'm about to go into, I ask forthe best possible outcome
related to that subject matter,parking place, let's say, and
then pausing.
Taking a deep breath and gettinga sense that spirit has engaged

(05:48):
in the request that I've madeand then offering a thank you to
my soul, to my higher self.
For its participation in mylife.
Now, it's simple, but you cansee the power of it in that
number one, you're asking,you're asking for the best

(06:10):
possible outcome for everybodyinvolved.
You're asking for.
a generalized outcome, not aspecific outcome.
So notice I'm not asking for aparking place right out in front
of the restaurant, because thatmight not be the best thing for
me at this particular moment,spirit knows better than I do

(06:31):
what I need and want for mygrowth and evolution.
And so I'm kind of turning itover, if you will, to spirit.
to provide me with that bestpossible outcome for my growth
and evolution.
And then I'm thanking spirit forits participation in my process
in my life.
it's a very powerful but simpleway of tapping into higher

(06:57):
consciousness and for gettingspirit involved in your life and
in, uh, that which you need andwant as you need you for your
personal evolution.

Magic Barclay (07:09):
Great.
And the final standard questionis around weight.
Many people battle their weight.
And so my question is, have youever battled yours?
If so, how did you win that war?
And what can you offer thelisteners who might be on this
journey?
Yes.

Blair Abee (07:26):
I really never have battled my weight, I've always
been fit and, I was skinny as akid and I continue to be skinny
as an adult and as an olderperson.
But what I say to people aboutdealing with, weight issues is
that there are a couple of waysto, help with that.

(07:47):
One is to be mindful about yourdiet.
and the food that you consume.
So it's been said, and I believethis to be true, it's been true
certainly in my life, that aMediterranean diet that's high
in fiber, high in vegetables,includes some meat, but includes

(08:11):
lots of olive oil, is one greatway to eat, especially if you're
able to eat organically.
There was a time that I did, avegetarian diet, but I'm not
doing that at the present time.
and I don't consider that to bean, a key to, weight loss.
The other thing that I would sayabout weight loss is how

(08:33):
important it is when you eat toeat in a mindful way.
So mindfulness meditation takesall forms in your life, if you
allow it to.
eating and the result of eating,which is your weight, among

(08:53):
other things, nutrition, health,is one way to, if you will,
control your weight, manage yourweight by Eating slowly and
mindful, mindfully chewing everybite to its conclusion before
taking the next bite instead ofbolting your food down.
And I have a tendency to bolt myfood down sometimes, and my wife

(09:17):
reminds me that I'm eating toofast, and to slow down, and to
just remember to be mindful.
What I found in my life,generally speaking, when it
comes to eating, is that if I'mmindful about my eating, if I
eat slowly, I don't eat as much.
Because I don't need to eat asmuch.
I don't need to eat, foremotional satisfaction, but

(09:40):
instead I'm eating to the pointwhere I'm feeling comfortably
full.
And the best way to do that isto eat slowly and mindfully and
even to be grateful to the wholesupply chain that has provided
me with the food that I am inthe process of consuming.

Magic Barclay (09:59):
Great.
We've covered a fair bit.
And now I want to open the floorto you, Blair.
What are some things that youfeel the listeners need to hear
today?

Blair Abee (10:08):
One of my key messages, if you will, in my
books, is that you and I and weall are eternal beings.
We all are fifth dimensionalbeings, in addition to being
three dimensional beings.
And what I mean by that, is thatyou is to say that as human

(10:28):
beings, we come to planet Earthto learn, to grow, to evolve,
and to have experiences, perhapsto correct karma, from past
lives, if you believe in suchthings as I do.
and we come from the fifthdimension, sliding into the
three dimensional reality ofplanet Earth, and we're

(10:51):
indoctrinated, almosthypnotized, if you will, by this
planet, and even by our parents,our teachers, our spiritual
leaders to be, well adjusted,three dimensional, beings who
are successful in life in adifficult place to be.
Planet Earth is kind of adifficult place.

(11:13):
There's lots of obstacles.
There's lots of challenges.
it's one of the beauties, if youwill, of coming to Planet Earth
is the challenges because itaccelerates your Growth and
evolution, but it can be verydifficult.
And if nobody around you reallyknows much about higher
consciousness knows much aboutsoul contact, even knows much

(11:36):
really about what our are.
master teachers were teachingus, which is that the kingdom of
heaven is inside of us, then alot of us just don't get in any
particular lifetime, anopportunity to access that part
of ourselves.
And that's really what my workis about is offering tools for

(11:57):
people to have access to theirhigher selves.
to make soul contact, to realizethat they are, in addition to
being human beings, fifthdimensional spiritual beings,
and that there's more to lifethan just dog eat dog,
scratching it out, competitionat all costs.

(12:18):
but that instead, we are at thesame time, a single species, We
are one and that we need tolearn that in order to survive
this seeming freight trainthat's coming our way in the
form of climate change and othermajor challenges that we're

(12:38):
going to be facing in the next20 to 30 years.

Magic Barclay (12:41):
Okay.
