Magic Barclay (00:43):
Welcome back to A
Magical Life.
I'm your host, Magic Barclay,And Martin Selimer joins us
today.
Martin is known as the architectof the warrior's life code.
He specializes in helping peoplefrustrated in their life,
Quickly shift their mindset touncover their greatness so that
they can live their truepotential and enjoy life.
(01:07):
An example of what he's achievedis a client like Roberta who
lost her six figure job due tosome craziness going on in the
world.
And she came to Martin depressedand felt very lost within a
short time.
She had, and I quote, direction, focus, and a renewed energy
around all the possibilitiesthat she could pursue and
(01:30):
getting back on track to enjoyher life.
the key to Martin's success isthat he's mastered the ability
to live incredibly full everyday.
Life, which he turned into thatacronym and created the Warriors
Life Code coaching program.
Welcome, Martin.
Martin Salama (01:50):
Thank you, Magic.
I'm so excited to be here withyou.
Magic Barclay (01:53):
I'm excited to
have you here.
Let's just discuss life for aminute.
Live incredibly full every day.
I've discussed this with otherpodcast guests and the human
race seems to just live day Tolive, do you know what I mean?
They, they get by just to getby.
And I'm so glad that you'redoing what you do, because I
(02:17):
really think that's a key forthe listeners to comprehend is
that you can get the most out ofevery day and it actually
maximizes your enjoyment.
You're not just existing.
Martin Salama (02:29):
Absolutely.
That's how I live my, day.
it's come over many years of notliving that way.
And now I look at my life and Ilook at that statement, live
incredibly full every day withtwo things, being a happy life
and a meaningful life.
Magic Barclay (02:45):
Definitely.
Okay.
Okay, I ask all of my guests thesame three questions and
everyone gives me differentanswers.
So here's your first one.
And that is what can yourexpertise do to accelerate
health, not just physical, butalso emotional and spiritual
health.
Martin Salama (03:02):
Uh, such a great
question.
Well, I, I honestly believe itstarts with a good mindset.
And if you're not feelingstressed, which is what I try to
help people get through with myprogram is for them to
understand that the world iswithin their own control, how
they see it, what they do withit.
It will reduce their stress, which then will have an
(03:24):
unbelievable effect on theirhealth overall.
Magic Barclay (03:27):
Definitely.
And the next standard questionis around wealth.
What are your top three tips tocreating wealth, not just
financial, but also personal andemotional wealth?
Martin Salama (03:39):
So on the
financial end, So we'll start
with that one.
The financial end has to do withsetting yourself up for success
by recognizing when the money'scoming in, what are you doing
with it?
Are you putting them away intocertain categories?
I set up with my clients forseparate funds for them to put
(03:59):
some money in every day, everytime they get money, it could
be, it's about charity.
It's about big expenses.
It's about fun and it's about, you know, whatever, like
emergency or, Or a paying downdebt or something like that.
And then when, when one of thesethings come up, you don't have
to worry about the money thatyou have.
You have it already put on theside.
(04:20):
So that's the answer for thefinancial.
When it comes to personalsuccess and personal it's about
recognizing that where you aretoday is up to you moving
forward, don't look back, lookforward and understand it's
about saying I can, instead of Ican't, or how can I?
(04:41):
so when it comes to the personaland the emotional went really
together, it's aboutunderstanding how your emotions
show up by understanding thatyou can build your emotional
strength by understanding, areyou a reacting?
Are you responding?
And that's part of my course tohelp the people understand that
(05:03):
how you react is a big thing.
If you learn to respond insteadof react for myself, I used to
be, I reacted to everything.
I overreacted almost to thepoint of being like a, Nuclear
reactor, and then I have to goaround and fix what I did and
clean up all the fallout.
But if you understand that youremotions getting involved and
(05:24):
how you could learn to changeand not be so reactive and be
responsive, that will add toyour emotional as well as to
your personal.
Magic Barclay (05:35):
Great.
Now, final question is aroundweight.
Many people are battling theirweight and we know that stress
is a major factor, but I think alot of people look at coaches
and say, well, you've never hada weight problem.
What would you know?
So have you battled your weight?
If so, how did you win the war?
And what can you offer thelisteners who might be in this
(05:56):
journey?
Martin Salama (05:57):
Okay.
So yes, I have battled myweight.
in 2008, uh, when the world fellapart financially, I can't
believe that's 15 years ago.
I was a victim of that because Ihad lost everything.
I was working on a project withmy wife for about five years to
build a multimillion dollarproject here in the States.
And it all went away.
(06:18):
Just like that in September of2008, a year later, I was just
getting out of a depression fromthat and figuring out what I was
going to do.
So along that way, I started togain more weight.
a few months after that, I said, okay, what am I going to do now?
I decided I wanted to become alife coach.
And right after that, my wifesaid, I want a divorce.
So I just got to think thateverything was happening to me.
(06:40):
And I started to emotionally.
And then I had already decidedthat I wanted to become a life
coach.
I wanted to change what I wasdoing, but I didn't realize the
effects that it was having on mepersonally.
And a couple of years later, I'ma life coach.
I still haven't gotten, I wasstill getting myself out of my
financial problems I had, I'dgotten to the heaviest ever was,
(07:01):
and I fell one day and a friendof mine said, Oh my God, it
sounded like an earthquake.
And he didn't mean anything byit.
He felt bad.
He saw that I hurt myself.
He got, I got up and I.
went into the house, dustedmyself off.
I had some injuries, somescrapes.
That's how bad the fall was.
I tripped up, on a staircase.
And I said, okay, God, I got themessage.
And in nine months I lost 65pounds.
(07:24):
And what had happened was afriend of mine was talking about
a 25 minute workout.
I said, oh, I think I can dothat.
A video workout.
I found the time to do it.
I didn't have to go to a gym.
I didn't have to do anything.
I had to wake up a littleearlier and commit.
My why was that I wanted to behealthier.
I wanted to feel better.
I wanted to look better.
(07:45):
all that.
So I said, okay.
And those first few weeks ofeating better and working out
were tough.
I was used to eating whatever Iwanted.
I was used to not working out.
And those first two weeks, itwould be hard.
I would turn on the video and Iwould follow the modified person
on the video and not be able tokeep up with her.
But I pursued and I persevered.
(08:07):
And after nine months, I lost 65pounds.
And along with that, I reducedmy stress.
I had a better self esteem andthrough that time is where I
switched shifted my mindset fromself conscious to self aware and
it's a big difference rightthere.
Magic Barclay (08:24):
I think that's
amazing that you know, it took
such a big event.
Literally, for you to make avery small change to have such a
great impact.
I love that.
Well, that's the standard threequestions, Martin.
Let's open the floor to you.
Tell us about Life Warrior Codeand more about how it can help
(08:49):
the listeners.
Martin Salama (08:51):
Okay.
So I told you a little bit aboutmy story, with what happened to
me with my divorce and all that.
And as I was going through thesethings and decided to become a
life coach, I, I was started tothink, why is everything
happening to me?
And it took me a little while torecognize is that that was part
of the problem.
I was looking as everythinghappening to me and that I was
(09:13):
the victim and that I should beUpset about it and I should
expect things to change justbecause things aren't going well
And I i've come to learn thatit's not that how things are
happening to me They'rehappening for me and through me
and what I mean by that is If Itake control of my life, then
(09:34):
things will happen the way I'dlike to.
It's a little bit of the law ofattraction, but I go a little
deeper.
And one of the things Imentioned to you, magic is I
just recently came out with acard deck of my coaching course.
And it's about 30 somethingcards that go through some of
the things that I teach in mycourse.
(09:55):
It's a great way to learn someof the principles.
And one of them Is what I callthe cycle of A's and for me that
takes the law of attraction tothe next level So for those who
don't really understand what thelaw of attraction is It's it's
people think oh you think aboutwhat you want and you it
attracts To you if you if youthink about it, it will attract
(10:16):
you.
That's just the lowest part ofthe foundation There's so much
more to it.
So I have this cycle of A's andit's three letter A's.
The first one is Ask, ask theuniverse for what you want to be
God, the universe, whatever youconsider your higher power ask,
but that's not enough.
That's the, that's the basic lawof attraction.
(10:38):
The next one is act, startworking towards getting it, put
some action steps to what youwant and write down what you
want and start working towardsit.
And then here comes the thirdone, which is the most
difficult, but if you do itright.
It's great.
If not, you'll start to blameeverybody else and say, it
(10:59):
doesn't work.
Or you'll say that the law ofattraction or this doesn't work.
And that is a for attitude, havean attitude of a detached
emotion to the outcome.
Meaning that if you go throughthis and you start acting and
asking and acting and doing allthat, if you have an attitude
of, Oh, I need this to happen.
(11:20):
The universe.
We'll hear the lack in you andit will go, it will stay away
from you.
You have to put it out there asI'm putting it out there.
I want it to happen to me forme, and I want it to happen
through me, but I will not beemotionally tied to what
happens.
And then what happens is thingswill start to happen, you know,
and it could be one little thingago.
(11:41):
Oh, that's a coincidence.
No, that's the magic starting tohappen.
Excuse the play on words there, magic, but that's the magic
starting to happen.
And then as you get further intoit, you start doing it.
If things aren't going exactlyright.
You know what it's the universesending you a message saying you
need to make a coursecorrection.
(12:02):
Instead of getting down onyourself and saying, it's not
working.
You know, it could be God or theuniverse telling you.
Maybe it's not supposed to beworking this way.
You know, a lot of times peoplesay to me, I prayed to God and
he didn't answer me.
And my answer is, yeah, he didanswer you.
He answered no.
So he's telling you it's notwhat's right for you.
You've got to figure out what isright for you and then make that
(12:24):
course correction.
How does that sound?
Magic Barclay (12:27):
That sounds
great.
So I think many people, especially these days, uh, I
guess somewhat alienated fromfaith, from faith, from spirit,
from.
In a beliefs, you know, we'vebeen raised believing one thing,
and then the media and societyand governments tell us to think
another.
(12:48):
So I think there's a lot ofpeople out there that want to
connect to a higher source, to ahigher power, whether it be, you
know, God or spirit or whatever, how can I reconnect to that so
that they can hear thesemessages?
Because, you know, so manypeople are so detached at the
moment.
Martin Salama (13:07):
Yeah.
I think a great way for peopleto reconnect to that, Is by
starting off your morning with aroutine.
And for me, my routine is likethis.
I wake up every morning and Itake out my gratitude journal.
Now, I went out and I bought anice quality one here in the
States.
They have a company calledMoleskine that makes a real nice
(13:29):
one.
And every morning.
And also every evening before Igo to bed, I write down three
things I'm grateful for.
Okay.
And then I pray.
I, I'm Jewish.
I'm Orthodox Jewish.
I actually put on the, the, whatwe call Tefillin and I pray to
God.
And then after that, I say my,Mantra to myself every single
(13:51):
day, which is I live incrediblyfull every day.
Now this sets me up for the restof the day to find the things
I'm grateful for, to find theopportunities instead of looking
for the problems right now.
Looking for all the terriblethings that are going on around
the world.
There's a woman that a mentor ofmine.
(14:13):
She's written books about magic.
Actually.
her name is Genevieve Davis.
She's from the UK and she talksabout, and she says the world is
as you see it.
So if you want to see the worldas a beautiful place filled with
opportunities, thoseopportunities will come up and
show to you.
If you want to see the world asa place that's downtrodden with
(14:35):
problems, with everything beingnegative, that's what you'll
find.
And God is there for me as my,assistant, but not really my
assistant.
He's the one helping me get it.
I can't do it alone.
I surrendered to God, but thatdoesn't mean I wait for God to
do things.
I throw it up to God.
I ask God for help.
And then I go along my way doingwhat I need to do.
Magic Barclay (14:58):
Wonderful
message.
Okay.
Can you pull the cards out andgive us another example of how
this works?
Martin Salama (15:06):
Sure.
So I talked earlier aboutsomething self aware versus self
conscious, how I went from beingself conscious to self aware.
So let me read a little bitabout that card.
Self consciousness comes from aplace of negative energy, guilt,
conflict and doubt.
Self consciousness is moreoutward directed.
(15:26):
It's being more concerned aboutwhat others are thinking of you
and how the situation is goingto affect you.
You probably react touncomfortable situations instead
of respond.
That's just a little bit of whatit says on the card.
Self awareness comes from aplace of positive energy,
acceptance, Contentment and selfassuredness.
(15:47):
Self awareness is more inwardfacing.
You have an accurate andrealistic understanding of how
you are responding to situationsand how you feel about things.
So that's how I look at the twothings, self conscious versus
self aware.
Magic Barclay (16:05):
Great.
Is there anything we haven'tdiscussed, Martin, that you feel
the listeners need to heartoday?
Martin Salama (16:11):
Uh, yeah.
What, how about this?
Why don't you tell me a numberbetween one.
And 32.
Magic Barclay (16:21):
17.
Martin Salama (16:22):
All right, let's
see what card number 17 says.
Number 17 is part of my uncover, acronym.
I took the word uncover andbroke it down into a seven steps
to help you uncover the thingsso that you could have your
greatness.
So number 17 is navigate howyour emotional rollercoaster is
(16:44):
holding you back.
A huge part of moving forward islearning how to control your
emotions.
Moving forward starts byunderstanding and accepting that
you can't change things orpeople you could only change
yourself And understanding thisis important.
It's very common in many kindsof relationships Particularly
marriages that people come intoa relationship believing they'll
(17:08):
get their partner to change overtime the things they don't like
about them Nothing can befurther from the truth if there
are things you don't like abouta person you may be in a
relationship You With don'texpect that you can change that
person.
You're better off stopping thatrelationship.
I'm not just talking aboutmarriages there.
(17:28):
If you're in a friendship withsomeone and you're not both
invested in a 50, 50 way whereyou're both offering each other,
then.
It's not going to work in thelong run.
So you have to navigate youremotions by understanding what
works and doesn't work.
Magic Barclay (17:45):
Terrific stuff,
Martin.
I'm loving these cards.
Okay.
We love freebies.
What can you offer the listenersand where can they find it?
Martin Salama (17:54):
All right.
So I have for the guestssomething that I created.
On a whim, because I was honest,I was going to be on a summit
for parents.
And they said, what kind of freegift can you give for the
parents?
So I realized that I can givethe parents a gift, but why not
give the kids a gift too?
(18:15):
So I created one, something thatI have in my, course is the
warrior mindset, the abundantwarrior within you, seven
secrets to an abundant mindset.
And it goes through the wordwarrior and has seven different
steps to it about having a, anabundant warrior mindset.
So I said, okay, I can give themthe parents a white sheet on
this or something like that.
(18:36):
But then I thought about it andI said, what can I give the
kids?
So we created a coloring bookfor the kids with the idea of
teaching them about having awarrior mindset.
And then I said, I had parentscoming to me and saying, we love
this.
Can you make one for me too?
So if you go to connect withmartin.
(18:57):
com, you can get either or bothcoloring books there as a gift
for me,
Magic Barclay (19:03):
right?
