Have you ever poured your heart into a project only to face rejection after rejection? That gut-wrenching feeling of uncertainty can make even the most confident entrepreneur question everything. But what if those "no's" are actually guiding you toward your perfect "yes"?

The transformative perspective I share in this episode completely reframes how you'll view rejection in your business. Your gifts aren't meant for everyone—and that's not just okay, it's essential to your success. I reveal the counterintuitive strategy of "getting to the no faster" that my business partner Tom taught me after 40 years in sales. This approach has revolutionized how I qualify prospects, saving countless hours and emotional energy that used to be wasted on people who weren't ready for what I offer.

We dive deep into practical questioning techniques that help you quickly assess prospect readiness, maintaining neutrality about rejection while staying excited about client transformations. When someone says "no," they're not rejecting you—they're simply communicating they're not ready for the transformation you offer. Their "no" actually means "I don't trust myself enough yet to do the work." The rejection-handling skill might be the most valuable asset you can develop, not just for business but for life. I share my four-step process for turning each rejection into a learning opportunity: assess, correct, reapply, and learn.

Ready for a challenge that combines this mindset work with daily practices? I introduce the Thick and Thin Challenge using the five M's—movement, meditation, mindfulness, manifestation, and celebration—that could win you $1,000 every 90 days while transforming your relationship with rejection. Are you ready to embrace the "no" so you can find your perfect "yes" faster?

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Imagine you just put six months of your life, six
months of your daily attentionand focus into this one project.
The risk is rising with eachand every day that passes.
Knowing that you're that muchcloser to your deadline, yet you

(00:24):
run into another day of no's.
I mean, they all seem to loveit and you're only getting great
feedback, but you still have nosales closed.
Well, in these moments it canbe so easy to slip into
uncertainty and begin toquestion yourself Is it me, did

(00:49):
I make a mistake?
What if I?
Only to find yourself at thebottom of a bottle, a bag of
chips or a carton of ice creamnot too long after?
Look, we all have to acceptthat our gifts are not meant for
everyone.
I'm going to repeat thatbecause that is extremely

(01:10):
important.
Your gifts are not meant foreveryone, and if you keep
listening to those people whoare not meant for them, you will
not get your gifts to those whothey are meant for.
So you're going to hear no alot on your journey to more yes,
and you have to be okay withthat, because every no is

(01:31):
getting you closer to that nextyes.
You know, years ago, my partnerTom, who he himself has been in
business and in sales for thelast 40 years.
He offered me a shift inperspective around sales and
this one has stuck with me eversince.
He says why not save time andjust focus on getting to the

(01:54):
know faster?
Wait what?
Yeah, why not just save yourtime and focus on getting to the
know faster?
Ask questions with theintention of getting to the know
as soon as humanly possible soyou could just move on All of

(02:17):
this, so you can actually investyour time into those people and
connecting with those peoplewho are actually ready for what
you have to offer.
Don't waste time on thosepeople and connecting with those
people who are actually readyfor what you have to offer.
Don't waste time on thosepeople who are just burning your
time.
So start asking betterquestions.
Ask them how much do youactually know about what I do
and what I offer?
And then get a gauge.

(02:39):
And if they know enough aboutyour offer and they're still
highly engaged, then ask themhow do you see yourself working
with me?
Just let them tell you and thenfrom there you can just
straight up ask, on a scale of 1to 10, how ready to buy today
are you?
Because that will help youdetermine am I spending 15

(03:00):
minutes on the phone withsomeone or am I spending 45?
Because calls are forconnecting and converting.
Content is for educating andinforming, so we nurture them
online and then we get on a calland we close them, and that's
really about connecting andmaking sure this relationship
works both ways, synergistically, and then moving on, it's

(03:22):
helping them get to that nextstep that they actually need not
convincing them to do it.
I have made the mistake, I admit, so many times in the past.
I have wasted hours on callswith unqualified prospects that
had zero budget and zerointention of actually investing
into my offers.
Instead, this year, I'mchoosing to embody certainty,

(03:47):
because my mantra for 2025 iswhat's meant for me will be so I
trust that those that are readyfor what I have to offer which
is not everybody, but those whoare ready will simply apply or
they'll reach out, they'll jointhe waiting list, they'll ask
for the payment link becausethey're ready to take that leap.
And everyone else, those whoare not ready, they will find

(04:12):
nice ways or, in their mind, nice of saying no and a lot of
time.
It just looks like time-wastingactivities.
So my intention is just to stayneutral.
With hearing both yes and no, Imean, obviously I'm going to get
excited for my clients.
I'm going to get excited thatthey decided to take that next

(04:32):
step right.
I'm going to remain neutral, though, about what it means
about me and what it means tobring that money into my
business.
I'm going to maintain all of myexcitement wrapped around their
experience, about theirdecision, about their
transformation, and the morethat I do that, the more neutral

(04:52):
I stay with my side of thefence around the money.
That means that when I hear no,instead of hearing rejection to
me, I'm going to.
What I'm hearing is Jaina.
You know, I just simply don'ttrust myself enough yet to do
the work.
When someone says no, that's allI hear and that has nothing to

(05:16):
do with me.
I'm just going to keep my dooropen and when they're ready they
will come, because I trust inthe certainty that, if I just
keep doing what I'm doing, whenthey are ready they'll jump on
board, they'll book their time, they will show up.
This way, I don't focus on themrejecting me, because they're

(05:37):
not.
They are not rejecting me,they're not rejecting you, they
are rejecting themselves.
They are saying I am not readyfor this, whether it's what I
need or not does not matter.
I am not ready is what they aresaying when they say no,
because could they make ithappen?
Yes, could they get resourceful?

(05:57):
Yes, could they move things ontheir calendar?
Yes, are they willing to?
No?
Does that mean they're ready?
No, they're not ready becausethose who are will do whatever
it takes to make it happen.
Those who are will find themoney.
They will make the space ontheir calendar.
My job is simply to guide thosewho are ready, not to convince

(06:21):
or manipulate people intoforcing them into doing the work
.
You have to be ready becauseyour belief, your decision to
let go of who you were, to stepinto who you are becoming that
is what is required to seesuccess.
So you can use this in yourmindset and in business.

(06:42):
Simply remind yourself over andover and over that there is
more to life than the role thatyou play.
There's so much more to life.
It could have absolutelynothing to do with their
business.
It could have everything to dowith their personal life.
Maybe they just don't have thebandwidth right now.
Maybe they have the room ontheir calendar.

(07:02):
Maybe they have the money intheir budget.
Maybe it's exactly what theywant and they so desperately
want to say yes, but they can'tbecause they commit to take care
of a relative through sicknessand health right, there are
other aspects of life that areat play.
So when you're hearing no,realize it's not the end of the
world and it doesn't have to bethe end of your business either.

(07:25):
So are you building the skillsneeded?
As you build this skill, as youreally really, if you don't
have it yet, building the skillof being able to handle
rejection is the best thing thatyou will ever do for yourself,
not just in business, but inlife.

(07:46):
So as you build that skill ofseeking the no, you will get
better.
You will get better over time, like anything that you put reps
in.
Then you will start to be ableto see the no from a mile away.
You will begin to see what theyeses look like.

(08:07):
Okay, you will begin to see theyeses coming faster and faster
and faster because you willrefine how you speak to people.
You will refine the questionsyou ask and you will learn to
get to the no faster, whichmeans you'll get to the yes
faster.
Right, because the more you seekthe no's, the more clarity

(08:28):
around what the yeses actuallylook like it's going to happen
and the more clarity there isaround who you are for and your
offers for.
The more yeses you get, theeasier it will be for all of the
other people who are your idealclient to self-identify through
your social media content, youremail content, your podcasts.

(08:49):
So keep going, because every nois helping you have a small
recalculation.
Every no you are learning from, whether you believe it or not.
There's something you arelearning from that and, if you
allow yourself to, you can learna new limiting belief and you
can stop making calls, closedown your business and go do
what's comfortable, or you canlearn and you can grow and you

(09:13):
can chase the ability to handlerejection by chasing rejection.
So utilize this as anopportunity to build a skill of
becoming an expert at handlingrejection, because then you can
face anything in life.
And here's how you do that right.
You first you have theexperience and then you stop and

(09:35):
you assess what happened.
The call ends, you stop and youassess okay, what happened.
Did I ask good questions?
What questions did I ask?
How could I tweak those right?
The second thing you do is youcorrect it.
What went wrong?
How can I make this different.
Third thing you do, you reapplyyour pivot, reapply these new
things to your next interactionand then, last, you learn from

(09:55):
it.
You learn it and you use it tokeep moving forward with
confidence and with clarity, andevery rejection will bring you
more confidence and more clarity.
So if you enjoyed this episodeand you want to challenge
yourself in some other ways, Iencourage you to join the new

(10:16):
Thick and Thin Challenge.
It's utilizing the five M'smovement, meditation,
mindfulness, manifestation andmore, which is your
self-celebration on the HealthyEmotional Regulation app.
Now here's how it works If youtrack all five of those Ms
consistently every day for 30days straight, you can get

(10:38):
entered into a chance to win$1,000 every 90 days.
So here's how it works First, you join the challenge, then you
download the app and, second, you're going to take it before
photo.
You know good lighting, goodoutfit.
Make sure you remember time ofday, lighting and outfit,
because you're going to wantthat same thing for your after
photo, so that they get the bestresult.

(11:00):
You're going to take thatbefore photo and you're going to
drop it into the chat room andintroduce yourself to the rest
of the people doing thechallenge.
Then, third, you're going tobegin to track your 5Ms every
single day using the app, spending about 5 or 10 minutes
utilizing the videos to be ableto do guided meditations maybe
some journal promptsaffirmations.
Just utilize the app and thengo into the tracker and track

(11:23):
the amount of time you used ineach of the 5Ms daily, how that
went, maybe, take a little phototo log it in there and then
keep going.
The fourth thing that you'regoing to need to do is comment
and make a post at least once aweek in the chat room supporting
other people, updating us onyour progress.
Let us know how you're doing.
Great Bad Struggling.
You're not struggling.
Pour into other people's cupsand they will pour back into

(11:46):
your own cup.
And then the fifth thing you'regoing to do is you're going to
submit an official giveawayentry form.
This includes a writtentestimonial of your experience.
You're also going to resubmitthat entry before and an after
photo, and this gives you theopportunity to just tell me all
about your experience, how I canimprove the challenge for
people in the future and whatyou got out of it, and that will

(12:10):
then be double-checked.
All of your accounts that yousubmit, which you can only get
one account per person can besubmit for review for an entry.
So you basically are going todouble check the account to
ensure the accuracy that everysingle day, all 5Ms were tracked
, that every single week youchecked in, you dropped an
update and you commented on oneother person's, as well as

(12:31):
introducing yourself in thegroup.
And as long as you followed allof that, your entry will go in
the drawing.
And the best part is, you cancomplete three total 30-day
cycles every 90 days, earningyou up to three different
entries per quarterly giveaway.
That's three chances to win$1,000 for just moving your body

(12:53):
, meditating, learning somethingnew, speaking your future into
the world and celebratingyourself.
Are you kidding me?
This could take less than anhour a day and you truly could
set yourself up for success, because not everyone that does
the challenge is going to hitall 30 days, which means if
you're the only one, then youare the one that's going to win,

(13:14):
and so I just I encourage you.
If you are doing a lot of thesethings already, join the
challenge.
It's worth it, right?
The easiest thing to do is justenter into the challenge.
It's $33 a month or $333 a year, which is a slight discount If
you're just like, hey, this iswhat I'm going to do and I want
to be able to be entered into itas many times as possible and I

(13:34):
want the four chances a year tobe able to win the thousand.
Yeah, I would definitely signup for the year.
It's going to be the betterrate for you and you can do that
at janeswancom forward slash, tnt dash multi and that'll take
you to a checkout page where youcan choose between either the
monthly option or the annualoption and, of course, we're
