Ever wondered how psychedelics could revolutionize mental health or why certain fandoms captivate us so deeply? Join me, Miss T., as I kick off the Spectrum of Hyperfixations podcast by sharing my personal journey as a late-diagnosed autistic adult and certified life coach. In this inaugural episode, I get candid about my struggles with suicidal ideation in 2022 and how I've transformed that experience into a mission to help others. Expect a mix of raw, heartfelt revelations and the excitement of geeking out over my current obsessions, from Hazbin Hotel to Dragon Ball Z.

Get ready for a whirlwind of topics—from the randomness of hyperfixations and mental wellness tools to the potential benefits of psychedelic-assisted therapy. You'll get a sneak peek into my world, including my love for pop culture and fandoms, while also shedding light on the importance of mental health awareness, particularly as we approach Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month. Whether you're here for the fandoms, the mental health insights, or just curious about life as a neurodivergent adult, this episode promises a compelling start to our eclectic adventure together. Tune in and let's break stigmas while celebrating the things that light us up!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello and welcome to the very first episode of a
Spectrum of Hyperfixationspodcast.
I am your host, miss T, and theT stands for Tracy.
So this podcast came about justin a way for me to have some
fun and kind of info dump andjust geek out about the things I

(00:22):
really love, because it's hardto find people who are into the
same thing, even though theinternet is out there.
There are so many differentsites you can be on Um, but it's
just kind of way for me toconnect with others in a in a
different way.
So a little bit about me.

(00:42):
Um, I am a late diagnosedautistic adult.
I was diagnosed with autism atthe age of 32.
And yesterday I just turned 35.
So that's been hard to unpackand I would like to do a couple
episodes on that, on that, andso let's just touch on that.

(01:06):
And again, this is kind of whatyou might get with the podcast
is just a bunch of like squirrelmoments where the brain decides
to go one way even thoughyou're thinking it was going to
go the other way.
These episodes are probablygoing to be super random.
That's why in the show notes Iwill put what each episode kind
of touches on, like which hyperfixation I am going to discuss
for the day, because it canrange from you know the the

(01:29):
fandom I'm into to mental healthissues and my own struggles or
the tools I'm using.
We can talk about, like popculture things.
Really, it's just a place forme to geek out about the stuff
that I'm really into in themoment, and I also hope to have

(01:50):
guests on to be able to talkwith them about what lights them
up.
That's my goal and my hope forthis is that we can all learn a
little bit about each other andsome things that you might not
even know exist in this world, like.

(02:13):
One of those things ispsychedelics, psychedelic
assistance.
I guess I don't even know whatyou say and should I keep this
in?
I'll keep this in, but yeah, using psychedelics to kind of
help your mental health a bit.
That rocked my world when Iheard of it and I still kind of
want to give it a try, as somestates are world when I heard of
it and I still kind of want togive it a try, as some states
are legalizing it.
I am currently based in Kansas,so, no, it's not legal here.
I will not be trying it untilit's legalized.
I don't want to get in trouble, and so, yeah, the show might be

(02:39):
a bit random we could betalking about one subject, one
episode, and then the next weekwe are just off the rails with
another one.
So introduction about me.
Again back to me I am acertified life coach.
I had a very rough andtraumatic 2022 and it culminated

(03:00):
in me being hospitalized forsevere suicide ideation.
I was ready to leave thisplanet, had a severe mental
breakdown, also recognizing thatit was, you know, probably
autistic burnout as well.
Reading up on that and justkind of reinvented myself.
And as I'm getting furtheralong on recovery, I want to

(03:22):
help others and make a purposeout of something that was really
, really painful, and so someepisodes might also be just me
kind of processing things asthey come up, as they do and
making mental health, you know,a little less stigmatized,
especially coming intostigmatized, especially coming

(03:43):
into Suicide Awareness andPrevention Month next month.
So I'm truly a boring person, Ipromise, but hopefully we can
make this fun and engaging and Ihope you stick around, check it
out.

(04:03):
Let me list some fandoms thatyou might be interested in to
hear episodes of.
So currently I'm really intoHasbun Hotel.
I love Dragon Ball Z, but let'sonly say that it is the Cell
Saga and the superhero movie.
I was big into Ace Attorney, pirates of the Caribbean there
were some actors back in the dayand now I've realized that you
know real life.
People just kind of let youdown looking at Johnny Depp.

(04:24):
So, again, in mental healthtopics, talking about autism,
neurodivergence, basicallyanything and everything I want
to talk about.
So glad to have you here, keeping this intro episode super
short and just, yeah, check itout for a couple episodes, see
if it's your vibe.
I hope to see you again, again,or hope to have you listen

(04:47):
again, I guess, yeah, and thisis what you're gonna notice too,
is that I'm super duper awkwardand uh, yeah, we'll figure this
out together until next time.
Bye, my lovelies.
