all the stoners, potheadsRolling up papers using bongs.
You got some good.
Khalifa Kush, ralph and I arejust going to talk about, you
(00:23):
know, a classic Next Friday.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Next Friday part 2
Got some good Khalifa Kush,
Ralph and I are just going totalk about you know a classic,
you know, next Friday, NextFriday Part two, Part two, of
course, Great movie.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
And you know we just
want to really get up in this
and, just you know, talk about agood classic and everything.
I want to ask Ralph, you knowI'll say it like this as you
know, Friday is a cult classic.
Ice Cube movie put a lot ofpeople out there as far as fame
today.
In your opinion for next Friday, did it reach your expectations
(00:55):
from the first one, or did itexceed it, or were you
disappointed?
Speaker 2 (01:00):
I remember hearing
that Chris Tucker's character
wasn't going to be in it andthen I kept on thinking how are
they going to do that, like, howare they going to play that off
?
And then, like whenever it cameout, I was like, oh wow, like
the Day Day, characters showedup and showed out.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah, you know it's
crazy.
I have to give credit to youknow, Mike Epps, for really
holding it down, becauseeverybody had a lot of doubt.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
A lot of people did,
because a lot of people were
stealing the Smokey character.
That was a funny character.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
I think.
You know what, though Inhindsight I think it made for
credit for the first one.
I think it made Smokey'scharacter more iconic because he
only had one movie and sosometimes when you just have
that one it makes it morespecial versus the other two.
And that's not to discreditMike Epps.
Mike Epps, he was kind ofwhining up in there his
day-to-day because he wasgetting his ass whipped by his
(01:56):
baby mama and shit and he waskind of like you know, I have to
say Mike Epps was kind of likethe punching bag he got it right
.
Because I remember that scenewhere he got his ass whipped by
his dad when he got fired fromhis job and he's trying to give
him a hug.
His dad's like what kind ofshit.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Like what.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
That fucking that
Santa mask like that ball in his
mouth.
He's like what what?
I'm more like dang, but I meanI love.
I'll say this when I watch nextFriday again.
I'm not going to lie, bro.
Honestly, it grew on me alittle bit more than Friday.
I actually kind of liked it.
(02:34):
I still love Friday, but youknow you have some of those
sequels where it's good, it'sdecent, but you kind of like,
and then you get a little newwatch again.
You're like I're kind offeeling this one just a little
bit more now, you know, versusthe other one.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
It was like it was
kind of like there was more
money thrown at the second one.
They had more money left overto do the second one and they
really went all out Like theygot to go to Rancho Cucamonga.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Bro, the budget was
nice, the casting I thought was
excellent and I liked how we hadmore time with Craig's father
and I like how you got to seehis side of things when he's
trying to get back up to RanchoCucamonga.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
So his son and he's
having all that toilet issues.
And then they had Stanley, yeah.
He had a little cameo up inthere, which was nice too.
You don't want to be in therefor a thing.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
I don't know what
happened.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
I think it's one of
those things when I definitely
respect the Friday franchise.
But I love Friday.
Everybody knows that one.
That's just a cult classic, Ithink, for an 80s stoner.
But next Friday really kind oflike I don't know, I was out
there.
They got something really nice.
Look at women up in there too.
And then the fight scene wherehe was fighting the little
(03:53):
Mexican dude.
Yeah, he said two milk duds, two milk duds.
Yeah, golly, I can't believe Iforgot his name.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Debo the actor who
played Debo oh Prunes, terry
Prunes.
No Debo Tiny Lister.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
This is the we Manage
Poem and it was up in that damn
dog Catcher vehicle that wholetime.
And what I thought was crazytoo, they escaped prison Like no
one noticed these guys in likeorange jumpsuits running around,
running around, running acrossthe tracks, like and they was
like riding that bike andeverything.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
I was jumpsuit riding
the bike and he was like.
Came to him running next to him, like, so can we even poke?
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Like so I really do,
I man.
I gotta give Q credit, man.
This dude is so talented forwriting that it was good Like.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
uh, it's in the group
of like movies that the sequel
could have almost been better orbeen up to par with the first
one.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Yeah, because very
few sequels even remotely come
close.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Yeah, like usually
like right whenever the sequel
comes.
The sequel's not any betterthan what the first one was.
It's like alright.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
I gotta say that's
one of the few sequels I can say
like you won't be disappointed.
It might not live up to thefirst one, off of the shock
value, because the first one wasso iconic to come out when it
did, but it's still a good likeit kind of holds you over.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, and so let me ask youthis for our second topic point
(05:34):
has Next Friday crossed over 420Culture?
Like the original Friday, Idon't think so.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
A lot of people
watched it.
When that came out, a lot ofpeople was going to go see that
People was quoting differentlines from the movie and talking
about different scenes, likethe scene when they were smoking
at work.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Oh yeah, you had
Pinky up in there.
You know what?
Now that you say that?
Because I got to think aboutthe scene where Craig he went to
use the bathroom or some shitand then Pinky he was like he
had that gun up.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Yeah, I had the gun
up.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Oh, he was like you
ain't got no gun when the weed
at.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
He was patting him
down and shit like that.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
And then then he was
like what you in here for that
crack, just looking like, because you think he was just
going raw pinky huh, he's likeuh, where did uh chris, or?
Uh, I forgot the white dude'sname.
Uh, roach roach, I forgot thewhite dude's name, roach Roach
Roach.
They didn't Roach that, theydidn't.
My cousin, oh man.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
It was just like that
was funny.
That was funny.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
He kind of spit in
his throat he was just no, no,
even the part, bro, even thepart where he pulls up in the
limo, his driver, he goes lookyou know, whooping that turn is
a little too hard.
I told you about that shit.
He was like let's get ittogether.
And then the driver's likewhatever motherfucker, what are
(07:14):
you doing?
Whatever motherfucker, he didthis to that yack and shit.
And then Michael Blackson'scameo, like when he came up in
there and he was like he waslike this is, and then he had a
lady of rage too.
(07:35):
I was like whooping Dana's assand shit.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
No penalty and then
just like that, because I was so
dirty.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
El Roy.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
He's like El Roy.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Bro, that Okay see,
it's almost like that now, and I
think it's like refreshing, because next Friday still has to
me more of those really hard, heavy moments that people kind
of forget about.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah, yeah, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
I'm really thinking
about that shit Because you
think about Friday, right, youthink of the original.
You always think about Debowhooping somebody's ass, the
part where Chris he was up onthe couch or Swanky's on the bed
, and he's like hey.
And then your dad comes in andhe's like boy, why don't you
(08:25):
take your ass home?
Let's get him out of my house.
He goes, damn what.
You tell your bitch ass thatand the shit, the fuck that
nigga the cop was there and looklike he got a bunch of spiders
having a meeting on top of itand he's like hey, what you
doing here?
And then Miss Parker and thenRest in Peace, burning Mac.
I don't know that shit wasfunny.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
I don't know, was it
whenever he was in Pigeon Coup
after?
Speaker 1 (08:56):
oh yeah, it was like,
and then you know it was yeah,
but no, I mean next Friday.
I think it had a little bitmore, it was a little bit more
serious yeah because thatMexican group across the street
(09:18):
that they had beef with thewhole damn time.
Yeah, what was it?
Because they were like sneakingin drugs.
And I think it's funny becausedidn't the dad?
He had to pay some mortgage, hewas behind on something,
because he spent all thatlottery money.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Yeah, I don't
remember what it was he was
behind on.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
I think it was like
his mortgage or they were going
to be put out because he waslike behind and he goes like,
well, how much money do you haveleft?
He's like, oh, you know,day-day, I bought him a Beamer
and this.
I got about this much and thenI was like I said his mic apps,
I liked them in the movie, buthe complained so much he was
(09:58):
just not funny.
He was like he threw that roachon him and shit, he played too
damn much.
You know what I mean.
He's like he said I hope shedon gonna give you nothing.
I hope she don't give younothing.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
I hope she don't.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
He said nah, her mean
ass brother.
Then the dog like chasing himand shit, and then, uh, another
cameo.
We forgot about MichaelRapaport.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
I played the mailman.
He was like back to the ghetto.
You go.
And then the dog was chasinghis ass and other shit.
He was like back to the ghetto, you go.
And then the dog was chasinghis ass and other shit.
He was like what are you arapper?
Speaker 1 (10:40):
He said wow, I wasn't
expecting to see you.
So he asked in the door so whatare you like?
An?
Entertainer An athlete, I playfor the crapper, some shit like
that.
Oh okay, well, I don't need youto bust a cap in my ass.
Oh okay, well, I don't need youto bust a cap in my ass, oh
shit.
So what I think about NextRider now, I think for me it
(11:04):
eclipses.
I think it's now if I had tosay out of the franchise, I
think I kind of prefer.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Like with me.
I think they're equal.
The reason why I say that isbecause both of them is
completely of their time, like,if you think of Friday,
everything that happened onFriday was completely of that
time of like the 90s.
It was like a staple.
It was like, okay, yeah, I likethis, this is good.
(11:35):
Then when next Friday came out,it was completely of our time.
It was like the throwbackjerseys that Day Day was wearing
.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
I'll do it like this.
I'll say, like this analogy, Ican definitely see where you're
coming from.
I look at this Like Boys in theHood, like Friday right, that
kind of, because it kind of hadsomewhat of that not the
gangbanger element in Friday butit kind of had that 90s, early
90s West Coast LA essence.
And then I would say next Fridayis kind of like Baby Boy, like
(12:08):
that 90s it was a little youknow, because technically Boys
in the Hood, the sequel was BabyBoy.
A lot of people don't know thatBaby Boy was technically the
sequel of Boys in the Hood, thesequel was Baby Boy.
A lot of people don't know thatBaby Boy was technically the
sequel of Boys in the Hoodbecause it was to showcase the
90s of that whole West Coastkind of game.
You know what I mean, that typeof era and stuff like that.
So I kind of because youdefinitely see a lot more
(12:29):
mid-late 90s in Next Fridayversus Friday, you see a lot of
that early, early 90s kind ofbecause, if you think about it
too, smokey's character couldhave been considered a crip with
the blue, with the chucks.
You know that's yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
I think so, I think
it was the early 2000s or maybe
maybe 99 or something like that.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
I can't be for
something I can look it up.
I do want to go for 2000,because it did have what the
swag was that?
The colorful jerseys.
You were right on the dot 20002000.
No, I mean it was just Damn man.
(13:16):
I remember when that was comingout and everybody was like so
2000.
No, I mean it was just damn man.
I remember when that was comingout and everybody was so happy.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Bro, is it?
Speaker 1 (13:21):
gonna, because
everybody was gonna compare it
to the first one.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Is it better than the
first one?
Does it hold up to the firstone?
And what was so good about theFriday franchise is all three of
the movies.
People still talk about one.
They talk about one togetherafter the other.
They like all three of themovies.
People still talk about one.
They talk about one togetherafter the other.
They were all good.
They were all good in one wayor another.
Some people may hold somemovies better than the others,
(13:47):
but then in a whole, I believethe majority of people thought
they were all good, no matter ifthey hold one above the other
or not, but they can go back andwatch either one of them and
still be satisfied, still beentertained.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
I agree, man.
I feel like with Next Fridayit's I'm not going to say it's a
slept on classic.
I just don't think it's asappreciated as Friday.
When you talk about that wholeseries, that franchise, most
people are just familiar, Not tosay they forget about the other
two.
But Chris Tucker really likedFriday.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
He did.
But when Next Friday came outthen there was a whole lot of
focus on what was going on nextFriday.
They never forget the firstoriginal fight.
Smokey was a very interestingcharacter.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
I had to say he was
going to make that whole, Not to
say the other people weren'ttalented.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Right, you were
familiar with the two main
characters being Craig andSmokey, and then Mike Epps had
to really step up to the platefor the next one.
Chris Tucker wasn't going to bein that one and some people
already heard this because itwas already a rumor, so some
(15:06):
people already heard that thiswas going to be the case, that
chances are you ain't going tosee Chris Tucker, you ain't
going to see Smokey in this one,so it's probably not even going
to be as good.
And I mean Mike Yancey did sucha great job as his character
that people was like okay, I'minterested, I'm a little
invested, like I kind of likethis.
And you know it went on to makeFriday After Next.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Friday After Next is
a classic too.
I did like that one.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Yeah, what made that
movie that I believe was Cat.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Williams.
I was about to say that, bro.
Yeah, cat Williams didn't makethat.
I completely agree with you.
Cat Williams did like kill thatshit.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
That was like, like I
think that's what got it.
Like, oh wow, like I thinkthat's what got people Because,
like, if this character wasn'tin the movie, it probably
wouldn't have been good, but itwouldn't he was.
It was like an introduction.
Then they had a new version ofDebo, which is played by Terry.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Crews.
Yeah, because you know what'sinteresting, though I wish
certain characters in thosefranchises could have crossed
paths.
I would have loved to see BigWorm come across, debo To see
how that?
Because I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
From what I heard I
don't know if it how that
because I'm pretty sure reallyyou know.
From what I heard, I don't knowif it's true, but I heard that
like Ice Cube actually had aplan of making a Friday to where
, like they were all in the samemovie.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
What Okay, I heard
there was a moment he was going
to bring it back.
I heard that Chris Tuckerdidn't want to be a part of it.
Yeah, chris Tucker didn't wantto be a part of it.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
But that's like he
wanted to do a Friday movie,
like a last Friday and like haveit be like all the characters
from all the different.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Fridays Damn bro.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Oh my God.
But you know, chris Tuckerdidn't want to be a part of it
and usually they say one monkeycan't stop a moose shell.
Yeah, that always true.
Like there's certain movieslike the character's so iconic
that like you know what aniconic characters go and it
makes it that much harder toreally keep people's interest.
It's kind of like the screenfranchise.
(17:03):
Uh, what's her name?
Melissa borrera?
Yeah, yeah, jenna ortega.
Like there was like the likepart of the main cast of
characters and then now thatthey're gone, and then they said
they got the person who playedSidney back, but then people are
interested, but then they'relike well, what are you going to
do with it?
Because you started this wholeother story people got
(17:24):
interested in with this wholeother group of cast members, and
now they're gone.
So what are you going to do?
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Yeah, it's like so.
Would you, as a fan of theseries, the franchise right?
Would you want to see a Fridayor would you want them to reboot
it?
Speaker 2 (17:44):
Or do you think they
should just leave it alone?
That's a hard one, because Ithink that they probably could
do a Friday.
Okay, like, depending on thewritings there, they probably
could do a.
Still do a good Friday, likestill figure something out
especially being Best CatWilliams as part of the Bro.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
As all y'all bleeks
know, I have respect for Cat
Williams.
I just think right now becausehe's had so much controversy
over the.
Shea Shea interview where, likesome people, like I know the
actor who played Faison Love, hekind of had some smoke or was
really upset with some of thethings Cat Williams was exposing
.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
And.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
I think Ice Cube
addressed it too publicly or
something like that, but I heardthere was a woman like DC.
Youngfly was supposed to playSmokey or be Smokey's son.
They were supposed to have him.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
This is what they
wanted to happen.
Still, Chris Tucker, he's nottrying to do it.
I think that's what kind ofmade it happen.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Love for Chris Tucker
man, but let's be honest,
Tucker's last raw Chris Tuckerfrom back in the day was kind of
like Rush Hour 1, Money Talks.
That was the kind of lastbefore I understand religious
purposes.
That was the kind of last, likebefore and I understand
religious purposes.
He wanted to change his image.
I get it, but that was like thelast Chris Tucker that we got,
(19:06):
that real raw raw.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Dude I have like so
hard to stomach.
Yeah, he would say some crazy, some slick shit.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
It's kind of like
with like I respect this guy as
a comedian and I get it when youget all deep and want to change
your image.
It's like I look at ChrisTucker almost like Eddie Murphy.
Eddie Murphy hasn't really beenthat raw, raw 90s, like 80s,
you know what I mean.
He'd really be saying someslick shit.
That's like the comedy rightnow.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
That's like the
comedy that's considered
underground.
It's like a problem youconsider underground Nowadays.
You gotta be a little cleanWith it Politically correct and
you can't say nothing.
Yeah, comedy doesn't make youLaugh as hard as what it used to
.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
And it's like you and
I.
It's just like how you and Idiscussed With like Harry Spears
that interview in the BreakfastClub, like how he addressed
like Comedy's just not what itonce was without being cancelled
for speaking your mind and Ihate to say it, but I haven't
really seen.
I think like the last comediesout here have to be associated
(20:08):
with some type of stoner aspect, because I don't see comedies in
general, like I love 420 moviesbut I feel, like 420 movies are
the real last bit of comedyrelief that you get.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Yeah Well, it is
rumored that they're trying to
bring back a scary movie now.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
That would be good
but, like the conversation we
was having, they can get rid ofone person or two people.
If they're one of the maincharacters, then the movie just
doesn't work.
It's harder to make it work.
If it does work, it's neverhold up to what the first movie
did with that character.
Another example of this is ifthey got a scary movie and it's
not the Waynes.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
They made the movie
Ray Ray and what's his name?
Speaker 1 (20:57):
Smokey also no it
wasn't, it was Ray Ray, and oh,
I gotta look it up because itwas something it was kind of
along those lines because oh,obviously scary movie, yes, the
original Shorty, yeah Shorty itwas, yeah, shorty, ray, ray and
(21:22):
Shorty, like those characters, was funny as I don't know bro,
that yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Shorty, that was just
like.
Oh was funny as hell, bro, thatshit.
Yeah, shorty, that was justlike a whole thing.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Oh my God, I don't
know, you know honestly I feel
like if they could do a movieright, if they could have Shorty
, the original Smokey ChrisTucker, like the original Smokey
Cat Williams, like in some typeof like Crazy Stoner world
movie comp, like just thosethree or something like that,
and Mike Epps, mike Epps'character Bro, that shit would
(21:48):
be crazy to see.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
That'd be wild.
He probably did the premise fora new Friday.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Bro, oh my god, we're
already thinking because we're
seeing and I'm sure you blinksknow we're seeing some of the
craziest crossovers andfranchises ever.
If the Fast and Furiousfranchise.
You put all these crazy actorsand wrestlers from different
movies.
There was a rumor saying theywere going to have Transformers
in Fast and Furious.
I actually believe that shittoo, because I said, well, shit,
(22:19):
they brought Jason Statham fromthe Transporter in there and
all these other people.
You know the stoner world needsto do that.
They need to be like hey, let'sget Debo Big Water all the
hooters all in one stoner movie, and let's just make this shit
happen.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Yeah, but the
ultimate stoner movie it would
be.
It would be a hit For your 420people.
Friendly people in places whereit's not legal, where you're
having CBD day.
Yeah, oh, yeah, yeah, you know, and another move for Yacht
Enjoy, they come out with that.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
And it's crazy
because it's only a matter of
time before they legalize iteverywhere.
But I know all the bleaks outthere.
I again, when I became olderand got out the service, my 420
experience for the very firsttime was when I was 26.
I had some sour OG from Cali,my homeboy.
He put me on with it and Inever forgot.
(23:11):
I hit a blunt and I didn'trealize.
A blunt creeps up on you Like ajoint.
It's not instant, so I'm justhitting that shit.
You know you think you have anidea.
Well, as a person who was notinto the stone world at that
time, I thought I had an idea ofwhat feeling high would be.
You know what I mean.
And then I remember yeah, yeah.
(23:33):
So I should kind of have anidea of what that experience is
like.
Right?
So, bro, I'm hitting this shit.
And then I'm just chilling.
I'm like man, this shit weak.
By 20 minutes later I startedfeeling like uh-oh, uh-oh, okay,
something feels a littledifferent, like just calm down,
it's okay.
And then when they said thecreeper knot and I was like
walking all crazy, he's like ohshit, bro, you hit that blood
(23:55):
too hard.
I was like I said yeah, man.
But then, once the high camedown, bro I was.
Music sounded better, likeeverything tasted better,
everything was just, it was itsown point.
And for the bleaks out here, you're all going to laugh at me.
All right, it was my very firsttime getting high.
I'm in Maryland, northeastMaryland.
I'm driving back to Newcastle, delaware, right, I'm off of
(24:18):
South DuPont Highway.
It's a straight shot, it's 40minutes, that's all it is, so my
eyes are blushing.
I'm riding.
It is so my eyes are blushing.
Right, I'm high and I'm driving.
It's really dark at night andthen it just so happens.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
There was a cop
behind me.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
He flashed his lights
and I'm like, oh shit.
I said I cannot believe this.
I had all the time, my firsttime ever, getting high, and I'm
about to get pulled over andget a ticket, bro all of it.
And I'm doing the speed limit,I'm not swerving nothing, and
all of a sudden he just goesaround me he speeds off right at
the job, was through the roomand I was like, oh shit, we good
(24:56):
so I just like hit the seatback and I put on like some
music and everything and thenthat was my you know, uh, first
time really getting exposed to420.
And I really think about.
It was one of my favorite songsfrom Snoop Dogg and I think
(25:17):
it's off of Blue CarpetTreatment or golly.
You basically gotta forgive me.
I know you're probably doingthe shit for this right now.
Now I gotta look up the album, but you know because it was, but
Cause it was.
I think it was Blue CarpetTreatment and it was.
Oh yeah, shout out to Snoop, cause I know he's Having a good
ass time, cause it is 420 time.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
So yeah, you know,
he's been celebrating 420 ever
since March.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Yeah, Him and Wiz.
So yeah, it was called the BlueCarpet Treatment and oh, the
song was called I Missed thatBitch and it was one of my
favorite songs from him.
Just because he talked aboutthe way he rapped in that song,
you really thought he wastalking about a woman.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
You're right.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
You know what I mean,
and he goes.
I remember I was like like 14,you know, uh, the first time I
hooked up with her yeah, onetime I took the hit and I
couldn't stop tripping.
And then you know what I'm not,you know.
And then my mama got madbecause I couldn't, you know,
leave her.
And he's, you know, you reallythink he's talking about a woman
.
He's talking about the firsttime.
He got high like it goes likeI'm passing around let my
(26:25):
homeboy take the air.
It goes like you're driving mecrazy, you know what I mean.
And then he tried to Credit toSnoop.
I don't know why he tried to.
I know it wasn't going to lastlong.
Rappers sometimes go throughphases and shit.
You remember he was on hisRastafarian trip.
Oh yeah, snoop Lion, right, hedid that Even before that.
(26:46):
Right, he did that.
I didn't.
Even before that he did wherehe was signed to, uh, no limit,
and he had that one down southalbum or whatever like that.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
And then he had that
time where he actually was
trying to stop smoking weed forjust like a small window a
little bit and then, like on hisuh comedy show, he was showing
an example of like how it reallywent down and then he said I
stopped smoking.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
on Twitter he put
some shit out there recently.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Everybody really
thought he was advertising
smoking some shit like thatSmoke is fire.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
I said yo when he
said that in that song, I
thought about that moment wherehe did say yo, I can't You're
driving me crazy, baby right nowanything.
But I will admit this I've hadsome strains of bud that I still
never forget to this day, goodand bad.
Good and bad Like, as you know,420 Advocate.
(27:42):
As myself, there have been somestrains where I was like you
know what Once was enough, neveragain.
But then when I lived out in LA, that sobered my ass.
La butt, cali butt sobered meto the point where I was like
what I thought was cool on theEast Coast I was missing the
East Coast butt because it wasso mild in comparison.
(28:06):
And I know in Oklahoma theyhave to have some good.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Oklahoma.
I'm sure they got it.
Oklahoma is crazy, Bro, likethey got all those expenses.
Yeah, it's wild because, like Ithink about places where it's
illegal and everything, and Ithink to myself that that's kind
of tricky because, if you thinkabout it, they got CBD that
looks like actual weed.
So then, like if you wasn'ttrying to arrest somebody over
(28:32):
marijuana, how are you going toknow it's not CBD, like that's?
Like that's a tricky situation.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
And they even have
hybrid strains.
I've smoked some where it'sliterally like a 50, it is like
a 50-50 between a cross betweenweed and cbd.
Yeah it, it doesn't get you ass.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
I don't have
different rat like ratios, yeah
like uh, like they do it like innumbers, like take the one, or
like yeah, yeah, it's like acertain ratio, they call it
something eight, yeah, eight orsomething like that yeah yeah,
well, I've heard delta eight canget you.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
Your joe is pretty
there yeah, yeah, they extract
like certain thc chemicals, butit won't get you hot.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
Yeah, certain, I
guess, elements that uh, I guess
is illegal.
I don't know how you would workthat, but I think I'll start
the elements uh oh well.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Well, let me ask you
this, and we addressed this a
little bit, but we'll kind ofcome back to it just for a
little bit.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
Overall, did Mike
Epps reach your expectations the
way Chris Tucker did in hisabsence for this movie he
actually went above myexpectations.
I didn't think the movie wasgoing to be that good at all
because you know Chris Tucker'scharacter wasn't going to be in
it, but it ended up being a goodmovie in it's own right.
It was real good.
I was anticipating part 3whenever that came out yeah,
(30:00):
okay.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
So what about?
I would say this I think hedefinitely exceeded my
expectations.
I have a lot of respect forMike Epps for that movie, for
sure.
I think I kind of preferred himin the third one, friday After
Nights.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
I think his character
was more like really, because
he went from complaining to likejust doing wild shit because,
like by the time part three came, they probably got to more of
an understanding of how hischaracters were played out.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
And then the
chemistry, I felt like, was a
little bit better too.
In the third one there would beroommates and all that other
shit.
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
Yeah, right back in
the hood.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
They did yeah, they
did Okay.
So let me ask you this who wasyour favorite character in Next
Friday?
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Oh, I would have to
say Dan, okay, the reason why is
because he was somebody who wasstepping into Chris Tucker's
shoes Not exactly stepping intohis shoes, but somebody that you
had to put in there to makepeople not forget but be
satisfied with.
Okay, this could work, I'm coolwith this.
(31:17):
And they did it with Mike Epps'character.
So then I would have to sayMike Epps there's other
characters I thought wasinteresting.
I liked Baby Joker and all theother stuff.
I liked that whole setup andhow they did that.
But then the fact that Day Daywas basically like the new
homeboy that you was going tosee with Craig's character and
(31:40):
he stepped into that role andthen like people.
When she's seen him as thatrole, I would have to say he's
my favorite, even though I didlike Kim, oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
I'll say damn.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
If.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
I had to choose my
number one in that movie.
Probably, who had me laughing, probably going to say Elroy,
elroy was a trip bro.
The part where he I don't givea fuck, I don't give a fuck, I
don't give a fuck.
And the part where he wasgetting high on the couch and he
(32:18):
passed out.
Yeah, he's like and then hewhooped in his ass when he got
fired and shit I don't know.
Then he walked out.
He goes like he said he went tothe pool.
There was like that used car,Used car.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
And he's like get in
the car.
He was in the back yard.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
He fucked up his back
.
What you doing right here.
He goes I lost my mom and I'mnot okay.
And he goes like damn, you meanaround them dogs too damn.
He starts thinking like youstill got your illegal cable or
associate, because they used tobanter back and forth, but I did
(33:09):
like their banter.
In the third one where he sayswhat was it?
Willie said my dick is biggerthan yours, it was cold.
I was like you're wrong, thisshould not be wrong.
But he said it was cold thatnight.
Oh my God, man.
Okay, so final talking pointAll right, so if next Friday was
(33:33):
a strain of bud, how many puffson a scale of one to five would
you have to take a hit beforeyou pass it?
Five, five, okay.
Why is that?
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Because it raised
above my expectations.
Really, first and foremost, itcompletely exceeded it.
I thought that Michael Epps dida good job of playing his
character to where you're justlike, okay, well, smokey's not
there, but I can still just sitand relax and watch this movie
and it's still funny within itsown right.
So, yeah, that's why I wouldhave to give it a full five.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
I agree with you A
full five puffs.
This is a movie that I stilllove, the very first one, but
it's eclipsed the first one forme now, just because I think it
has funnier aspects to me nowBecause I think Friday has been.
It's so embedded in us for a 20culture.
Everybody knows who's going tosay what feel like next Friday.
(34:26):
There was some scenes that wekind of forgot that when we go
back over the movie I'm like, ohshit.
I forgot how funny that was youknow what I mean like.
And then another part too.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
I think about the
part where they gave the dog
that brownie and the dog waslike, and Roach was laying there
with the dog and shit like itwas just those minor things, or
the part with Miss Ho where theywere like trying to say I'm
Korean moron or that Chinesebitch like yeah, they used to
(34:59):
always get into it and shit.
So, so sorry you got to go,miss Ho.
So that's it, motherfucker thatshit.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
She used to always
give a shit.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
Because I remember he
tried to dab her shit.
Hey, hey.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
And then Craig.
She's like hey, craig, you coolas a daddy.
Hey Yo that yo Next Friday.
It was it so Leaks.
Sorry about the absence, youknow.
Happy 420 to all you know.
Be safe, you know.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
Enjoy y'all still.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
Enjoy yourselves, and
I'll be like I don't give a
damn how high you get.
You know, Everyone gets theirhead some and you know, until
next time, you know, be safethere, leakers.
