Ryan explains why and how propaganda and disinformation spreads like the plague on social media, which social media platform he considers a “weapon system,” and why I don’t need to be so concerned about nuclear war! A lover of life and ceasing the day, Ryan enjoys a choice cigar and fine whiskey as much as training for a marathon. Discover more about courage, truth, how to spot destructive lies in the minefield of social media, in this important episode of “We’re Not Blowing Hot Air.”

Speaker 1 (00:00):
If you are looking to have purpose in your life and
actually make a difference, consider the military as a
possibility.
The military kind of made mewhat I am today.
The reason I'm in this house isthat I have a VA loan and with
the VA loan I was able to get ahouse for no money down.
The reason I have three degreesis that I got college through

(00:22):
the military and if you're kindof on the fence about serving
your country, take a look at it,Give it a shot, even if it's
just the Coast Guard.
And if you want to do your jobevery day, can't get any better
than the Coast Guard.
I spent 20 years as a heavyweapons anti-tank infantryman.
Never fired a live round enemytank, not once I wasn't in the

(00:45):
initial invasion of Iraq, so Inever had a chance to actually
fire a missile at a tank.
But in the Coast Guard you doyour job every single day.
If you're good with computers, look at the Space Force.
If you're into logistics, ormaybe if you want to fly.
The Air Force has a hugeproblem with not having enough

(01:06):
pilots and one of the reasons isthat we cut a lot of planes
because we started to move alittle more toward drones.
So the feeder system of pilotsinto the Air Force kind of
slowed down and nowadays, heck, you join the Air Force, you
become a pilot, do that foreight years, get out and now
you're working at Southwest orat United and you're making

(01:29):
pilot money.
You can even stay in thereserves and still fly fighter
planes or transports if that'swhat you want.
If you want to have a lifetimebrotherhood, look at the Marine
Corps.
If you actually genuinely, honest to God, want to see the
world, like all those strangeplaces like hey, I want to go to

(01:50):
Taiwan, I want to go to thePhilippines, I want to see
exotic ports in Chile, Join theNavy.
If you want to enjoy yourweekends, join the Air Force.
One thing I would leave yourlisteners with is consider the
military as an option, especially when it comes to

(02:13):
advancing your life.
