I 2019 var der 1.600 mennesker, der deltog i Pyongyang Maraton, hvor der blev løbet de 4 forskellige distancer: 5, 10, 21 og 42 kilometer. Løbet starter tidligt om morgenen på et fyldt Kim Il Sung Stadium med 50.000 heppende Nordkoreanere, der både sender én afsted og tager imod én, når man løber i mål.
