Laura Mathias is a visible difference campaigner. Since ‘coming out’ about her alopecia in 2020 - after two decades of hiding her hair loss - Laura has been raising awareness of the impact of living with a visible difference across UK and international media outlets. In addition to using her Instagram account @RelightAlopecia to chronicle her body acceptance journey, Laura is an established LinkedIn creator, working with the international brand to script and perform adverts about workplace inclusivity. She is a champion for the rights of those living with visible differences - interrogating how the media represents these communities. As a proud ambassador for the charity Changing Faces UK, Laura is determined that no-one who looks or feels ‘different’, is left unrepresented or alone.
