EP 177: EMPTY NESTERS

As we approach another graduation season, an all too real reality is coming to many homes around the country. As children are walking across the stage, flipping their tassels, tossing their caps, parents are preparing for them to leave the nest. No matter how anticipated, there’s a heaviness that comes with seeing your babies fly their wings. 

Some households like ours are kid-free. Yet, it’s still filled with love. Laughs and joy. And even more so when little people in our life visit. But when it comes to invasion of the littles, there’s a lot to be considered. 

Groceries are at an all time high. Gas prices will never fall below $3 per gallon. And the weather is like a roller coaster at Six Flags. How do you feed, transport, and entertain children in this economy? Let’s not also mention the fact that mamas and papas and aunties and uncles gotta have a life too. Ain’t enough funds in circulation to do so easily. At least not for majority of Americans.

With summer approaching, memories will be made that hopefully contribute to a happy lifetime. Let the heat turn up and the fun times began. And in doing so, we wish everyone a happy healthy summer.
