(00:12):
Hey guys, this is Amy Linden. I started this podcast for you
because I am here to help Empower you because you are
enough. I am here to help you get to the
next level in your career. And most of the times, it has
everything to do with what you think about yourself.
I am a booking coach celebrity, booking coach 54, plus Network,

(00:35):
series regulars, and Emmy winnerand image in Winter.
And thousands of people working around the Globe.
All because of this technique that I created, I really want to
help you. So I do believe that if you keep
listening, you might pick up some gem that I am dropping down
and it will change the course ofyour entire career.

(01:04):
Everything that you do from the beginning, when we meet a
casting director, it sends a signal to them because they
don't know who you are. They're actually looking for a
way to disqualify you. It's like the Olympics, you
know, how they start out with 100 and then they get points
off. But each time they like Miss a
turn or they fall out and they get points off.

(01:24):
Well that's every audition you going.
You start out with 100 and then you slowly get points off.
So you don't want to start off with points off.
You want to leave with 100 points, you came in with, so
when you setting up your camera forecasting, or you're not ready
by the time that the gun goes off, And tells them, you're just

(01:47):
not ready. Everything that you do sends a
signal. If you're talking too much with
your hands then you're not ready.
You're not looking in the right spot and you're looking down at
the casting director, you're notready everything that you do.
So that's why you're here. You're here.
This is the last stop. When people study with me, this

(02:09):
is the last stop and for some people, they haven't studied
anywhere and I love those kind of people.
It's your first analyst up a quarter of my 53.
I just put in a 53rd last week like at them and actually she
told me about it last week, it was an NDA.
She knew about like weeks before, you know, you don't

(02:32):
realize that it's not always about the mayor amount of places
that you trade, because your goal is to work, as an actor is
not your goal. The goal isn't to spin in class
and have everybody tell you how great you are.
Being great. Actually, when somebody keeps
telling you how great you are, that's the wrong class.
It just is I want to tell you a little story about the girl.

(02:55):
She's been strained with me for five years and I had what, back
in the day. See, I have to say back in the
day. Can you believe, I have to say
back in the day? Back in the day, when I was at
the theater, I used to have thisclass called the coaster.
And I, and she attended every single coaster night because it
was an elective, you know, and she won every single poster
night, and she told me what she went to network three times.

(03:19):
But it was just like Coast Guardnight.
She had the first audition whichthey said that she was the first
one that got her audition. Isn't that weird?
She's the first one got her. Auditioning, she books his
series lead. Shooting in Canada for six
months. Number one, on the call sheet

(03:42):
for Paramount plus, this isn't like bullshit.
You know, it's not quite house in Malibu money yet.
I like to say house in Malibu money, maybe after the third
year, she'll get that house and I love them.
I don't know she wants it, but Ilook at, but you've made it when
you could afford a house in Malibu.

(04:03):
And then her callback was with producers.
And then she had a casting director coaching before she
went to network. And that session took the
network, the first Network session was eight hours and I
was on Zoom Thinking it was done, it called her back for

(04:30):
another Network session, and I was four and a half hours
thinking it was done. They call it back again because
what they're you they were doingwas qualified with her at that
point. I was just life coaching her to
make sure that she stayed at zero and zero meaning, nothing
was tainting. Her each time that she went in

(04:51):
and she was a clean vessel. That she wasn't like, fuck you
man. Why don't you pick yet?
You know, but because it could get exhausting.
It's like so after 8 hours, you could figure it out.
Okay? After four and a half, after the
eight hours been figured out, that's bound to start psyching
you out of making you angry. And that goes into your

(05:12):
audition. So she didn't like, oh she was a
champion. Kara, see those people running
on track in the Olympics and they're all running together.
They're running, they're running, they're running.
They're running in that one person takes off.

(05:32):
You see that when they take off,it was like, everybody was
running together, they're all going.
Because the dust of the person that took off and they get
really far he like, Fuck. Do they get so far?
Because that's a champion. Stop fucking around your career.

(05:57):
I'm interested in helping you along with your journey. like
literally helping you You know, that's kind of rare but I am
you. I'm in those rooms with you.
I don't know how many coaches inthe world was a manager, a

(06:19):
personal manager for nine years.I put Adam Brody on the o.c.
he's trained with me is to come up from San Diego when he was 16
and work with him all the way through, get them on the o.c.
How many of them are like awarded directors or filmmakers?
And also working actors. And have an Emmy winner in

(06:41):
imaging. Winner. 53 Network series
regular? I don't know many.
Can you name any other Stop withthis spinning in a class and
everybody telling each other howgreat, their you sought me out
because you want to work, I needyou all at the free throw line.

(07:01):
And you throw it in in baskets. I do not want to be around
Theater Workshop, actors The worst.
The worst. I rather you tell me about an
audition that you had that you fell on your face and then we
can talk about how to fix it next time.

(07:22):
Rather than a seen you working. Get out there.
Find out where all the auditionsare and audition.
I don't care if your union and you audition for a non-union,
didn't just, you know, when theycast, you just go, oh, my bad
poorly, they learn how to book, You're not going to learn how to

(07:53):
book sitting in a classroom. Hey guys, thank you so much for
listening. I so appreciate it.
So if you really believe your enough and you will click that
button and you will go to the store and get involved, I can

(08:15):
lead a horse to water, but I can't make them drink.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
