Speaker 1 (00:13):
what's going on, fam, welcome to the Adonime podcast
where we watch anime with theredemptive eyes for Christian
believer.
My name is Manny and today wewe're going to be doing
something special.
We're going to be starting anew section or series, I guess
we call it of the show.
I know that I am usually onlydoing anime, but I actually want

(00:37):
to dive into manga now.
So I want to dive into thenewer mangas that are coming out
and I want to review them.
Right, at least review thefirst volume of them, not the
whole manga, right, so that candiffer with the manga.
It can be many differentchapters for one volume, right,

(01:01):
right, and I think it gives alot, or at least enough
information about the anime.
That can help us to to give ita pretty decent review, at least
for where it's going.
More or less Volume 1 review ofthe manga called Miss Savage

(01:24):
Fang.
The strongest mercenary inhistory is reincarnated as an
unstoppable, noble woman.
That's a very wild name tostart with, but so I'm going to
be doing the Christian guide forthis anime.
Then I'm going to be going overthe biblical oh sorry, not

(01:47):
anime manga, see, I'm alreadyused to it.
So I'm going to be doing theChristian guy for this manga,
right?
Uh?
And then I'm going to besharing biblical points and then
negative points, and then I'mgoing to be having a giving it a
final ranking between one and10 of not necessarily how good
it is, but how many biblicalvalues that we can find in this

(02:10):
manga, right?
So if it has little to no goodvalues that we can learn from
this, then it's going to have avery low score.
If it has lots of great valuesthat we can learn from it, then
it's going to have a very highscore.
So that's I'm going to sharesome information about the manga
.
This manga falls under thesubgenres of action, fantasy,

(02:33):
reincarnation, school and seinen, and this anime was released
april 26 2022, and it's stillongoing now, but it's actually
become pretty popular since then, and so I'm going to share the
synopsis of this manga, and itgoes like this the ruthless

(02:53):
queen mylene, a woman chosen bygod and born with unrivaled
magic power, stood deposed.
The rebellion success was owedto none other than fabled
mercenary Anvil, the savage Fang, but an ambush during their
hour of victory left little timeto celebrate.

(03:15):
As he took his last breath, anvil could have died, content
watching the tyrant queen'slifeless corpse sway from the
gallows until he wakes up as herseveral years in the past.
Now the mercenary of legend hasa princess's body, more magic
than anyone can fathom and aburning desire to make sure

(03:38):
things go differently this time.
So it has a pretty interestingplot and we're just let's go
over the christian guide realquick.
So the first one is is sex andnudity.
So this manga has some partialnudity.
It's not explicit, so there areno details.

(03:58):
There are some parts wherethere is some grabbing of the
breasts and it's like teasing.
It's not like, like you know, super sexual or anything, and
there is some talk, conversationabout the act of, you know, sex

(04:19):
.
So definitely something towatch out for.
Yeah, that's it.
It's not as bad as it, as youknow, it could be, but it's
still pretty bad.
So the next one with violenceand gore.
There's a lot of bloody scenes,ok, there's a lot of sword

(04:42):
fighting and slicing and there'sdecapitations Like it's pretty
bad.
There's a lot of war, there's ahanging Okay, so it can get
pretty bad.
In regards to profanity, there's lots of very strong

(05:02):
profanity Like very bad F-bombs,b-bombs, all of it, and it's
pretty freaking, like it's a lot.
And the next one with drugs andalcohol.
There's a lot of drinking, alot of getting drunk, and that's
not, that's not good.

(05:23):
We've had that conversationmany times.
Drinking alcohol is not a sin,but getting drunk is that's not,
that's not good.
We've had that conversationmany times.
Drinking alcohol is not a sin,but getting drunk is a sin, okay
, um, and then the last onescary scenes.
Yeah, it's not really scary,it's just there's some really
intense battle scenes that thatare in the manga, okay, but it's
not, it's not scary.

(05:43):
So, biblical points okay, I onlyhave one.
So the one biblical point thatI have is that mylene, right the
, in the beginning mylenecommitted atrocities and she was
ruthless, with no compassionfor anyone, and because of this

(06:04):
the people wanted justice, right.
So it shows a depiction ofpeople who recognize bad,
recognize a bad queen, andrecognize evil, and they want
justice for that.
They're striving for a bettertomorrow.
They're striving for a bettergovernment, right, and those
things are biblical Right.

(06:24):
Fighting for a better tomorrow, they're striving for a better
government, right, and thosethings are biblical right.
Fighting for righteousness sake, for righteousness and
rejecting the evil, trying tofind a solution to this
situation, to evil, right.
I think that's very biblicaland I know it's not like a

(06:45):
spectacular biblical point, butthat's.
I actually try, tried to bringa biblical point on the table
for this one and it was verydifficult.
So those were my biblicalpoints.
I hope you enjoyed them because, yeah, buckle up, because, yeah
, buckle up, it's about to getintense with this next part.

(07:08):
So, negative points Okay.
So the first negative point isreincarnation.
Okay, reincarnation is actuallya belief.
So some Japanese peopleactually believe this.

(07:28):
Well, not not just japanese, but I'm saying japanese because
this is japanese manga, right, but this is actually part of the
part of the beliefs that somepeople over there believe in
that once you die, you'll bereincarnated as either another
person or an animal.
So that's actually a normalthing to to think about or to

(07:50):
believe in over there, and most, most, I believe a lot of them
are buddhists.
I think that's that's a biginfluence on that, on that
belief.
But, uh, we have to understandthat that's not biblical, right,
that's not.
Reincarnation is not whathappens to us after we die.

(08:12):
After we die, we either well,we all face god right for, for
everything that we've done, andthen it's either, if we put our
faith in jesus, then we live ineternity, in God's new kingdom
that he's going to establishhere on the earth, or if you

(08:35):
don't put your faith in Jesusand there is no forgiveness of
your sin because you don't putyour faith in Jesus.
If you're saying, because youdon't put your faith in Jesus,
then there is no eternity foryou, there's only hell.
Okay, and it's not.
We don't go to hell because wedeny God or we deny Jesus.
We go to hell because we have adisease.

(08:56):
Yes, we have a disease calledsin.
Okay, and if we have to find asolution for that disease that
we have, we don't die because wedidn't go to the doctor.
We die because we have adisease, right.
So, because we have a disease,we have to go to the doctor,

(09:20):
right, we have to go to thedoctor, right, we have to go to
the doctor to get that treated.
We have to get the diseasetreated Because with that
disease, we die Like an eternaldeath, dead, okay.
That's why we have to come toJesus, because he is the
solution.
Jesus is the solution, right.
So just wanted to make surethat we understood that

(09:45):
reincarnation is not biblical,okay.
Another negative point that Isaw is there are cult people in
the kingdom, right, that pray toa god called Diomeliusus I'm
pretty sure I pronounced thatincorrectly and they're praying

(10:05):
for the death of the queen, okay, and obviously there are some
people looking at these peoplelike they're crazy, like these,
these people are out of theirminds, right.
And I wanted to point out thatpraying for someone's death is
not biblical, that's not right.

(10:27):
Okay, the Bible says pray foryour enemies.
Okay.
So, because we have, becausethere are people who are who in
this, in this life right, wehave enemies, quote unquote.
Are people who are who in this,in this life, right, we have
enemies, quote unquote.
We have to pray for thembecause there's still a
possibility that they can beredeemed, right.

(10:50):
So if we have that hope or wehave that that heart of praying
for them and hoping forredemption, that would be much
better than the death of thatperson, okay.
So in this sense, they were notpraying for the queen's
redemption, the evil queen, theywere praying for her death.

(11:12):
Okay, they were praying for, ina sense, they were praying for
justice, but they were doing itincorrectly, they weren't doing
it with the heart of God, okay, and I wanted to point that out
just so that we're clear on that.
And obviously, this God, theAmilus, is not the God of the

(11:34):
scriptures.
Okay, so this is a false Godand, you know, has no power
whatsoever.
It's just an idol.
Another negative point that Iwanted to bring up is that this
manga, the god in this manga, isseen as a villain, okay, so,
okay, yeah, so they don't havethe god of the scriptures,

(11:58):
they're not going to mention thegod of the scriptures, so
they're going to make up theirown God for this story, right,
and?
But this God is depicted as avillain, as a bad, as a bad God,
a God that doesn't care, a Godthat there is no history of this
God being good, god being good, okay, it's just a belief in

(12:27):
something that isn't alive, right, so, because he isn't
alive, you know, they have noanswers to anything.
That's a big difference with usas believers.
We do have answers because Godhas revealed himself in the
scriptures.
God has revealed all, not allthe things he's done, but a lot
of the things that he's done forfor us, for us to put our faith
in him, right, and so anothernegative point that I that I saw

(12:52):
was, uh, prince albert, right,so so this story with savage
fang, this story with savagefang dying, being reincarnated
as the queen years before beforeshe became queen, uh, there's
this prince, that that, that thequeen or the princess, ends up

(13:13):
marrying and then he just endsup being like a pushover and
lets her do all this evil andall this stuff, right?
So when savage fang has to isbeing introduced to prince
albert right for the first timebefore he, before they get
married, and all this stuff, um,prince albert is starts off

(13:36):
honorable because he has a faithin god.
Okay, if we can, if we can kindof I mean, obviously the god
isn't real right in in thisstory, but at least he has some
type of faith in spirituality.
That could be I don't know, this is really complicated.
Anyways, he has this faith ingod, right, the god of the manga

(14:00):
, and he's he's, you know, pretty honorable and he, you
know, desires peace, but he'sway too naive, like horribly
naive, right?
So savage fang, who is now theprincess, uh, now starts
convincing him to abandon hisfaith in god because god is

(14:26):
horrible and he doesn't save, right, and he, he says he
doesn't save because savagefangs experience.
So he sees the queen gettinghanged in the beginning, right,
right before he is reincarnatedand what happens is that the

(14:50):
queen starts crying out to godto save her, but she gets hung
anyways.
So she does all this evil right, and after hanging, she's
asking God to save her andnothing happens.
She ends up being hanged orbeing hung.
So now that he's reincarnatedas the queen or the princess,

(15:15):
now Savage Fang is tellingPrince Albert there is no God,
because in his mind he's like Iexperienced that hanging and it
was fake, like like there's,there's nothing.
There's nothing to it, there isno God, right.
And he tells him that faith inyourself gets things done okay,

(15:39):
and that God is a god whorefuses to be seen, doesn't show
himself, okay.
So there are some things thathe's saying that that's correct,
because this is a false god, right, this is a false god.
Now, if, if some people end upand this is what this is what's

(16:01):
mostly most likely gonna happenis that some people might see
this and relate it to god ingeneral any god and convince
themselves that god refuses tobe seen, that doesn't show
himself right, but but this is.
This is so not true?

(16:24):
Okay, in the real life, in thereal world, okay, there are so
many, many, the amount oftestimony, stories, evidence of
God, of the things that he hasdone, of how perfect his word,

(16:47):
his Bible, is, how everythingconnects together, how such a
big book over hundreds andthousands of years can all
connect Like it has to be God ofyears can all connect Like it
has to be God.
And the Bible also says that wehave no excuse.
Humans have no excuse tobelieve in God.
Why?
Because there is no way thatyou can see the skies and

(17:11):
creation, nature, the sea.
There's no way that you can seeall of that and not believe in
God.
You have no excuse.
You have to believe that thereis a God.
And if you say there is no God,you're lying.
You're lying to yourself, right?

(17:31):
That's what the Bible says.
And the Bible teaches us thatwe have no excuse, right?
And the Bible teaches us thatwe have no excuse, right?
So you know, some people mightactually believe that God
refuses to be seen, but that'snot true.
He makes himself known sovividly.
It's just that we're so used toit that we don't see it.

(17:53):
Right, it's a horrible way tothink about God, because it's
not true, it's not biblical.
And if you do the research andif you look for God.
He's going to show himself toyou in much more deeper ways,
like that's what God loves to do.
He shows himself to you in amuch deeper way that you have to

(18:19):
know.
Okay, only God can do thisRight, which is why I always
encourage you go to God and askhim to show himself to you.
I always encourage people to dothat.
So another negative point that Ialso saw um, and it's it's more

(18:42):
like what might happen.
Um, but towards the end there'sa friendship between savage
fang, who was the princess, anda queen of, or princess of,
another empire or anotherkingdom, and they start becoming
friends.
But this queen or princessstarts like being a little too

(19:05):
close to savage fang and it's alittle uncomfortable and it
makes me feel like, oh man, whatif?
What if?
They go towards like arelationship between these two?
I don't know they're gonna dothat again.
Savage fang is a man and awoman's body right in a
princess's body.
It's just weird, it's weird,it's too weird.

(19:29):
So I, I don't, I don't, I don'tsee any way of redeeming this.
I think this is going way left, like left field, like it's
going, it's going down a paththat I cannot follow.
Okay, all of this in in thefirst volume.
Okay, so with this first volume, I I don't have, I don't have

(19:54):
good hopes for this manga.
I really don't.
And there were some small goodthings, but, I'm sorry, one
small good thing and it wasn'teven that good Like no, honestly
, this is.
There's way too many negativepoints.
It's way too unbiblical.

(20:14):
It's way too unbiblical.
It can really give a falsesense of, or a false idea of,
god and justice and that Goddoesn't answer prayers and that
God doesn't make himself known.
No, no, no, no, no.
This is, it's going towards abad path, dark path.
Ok, this is demonic, it's whatit is.

(20:39):
Ok, so is okay.
So, so, yeah, I'm reallydisappointed, honestly, with
this anime.
I'm super disappointed.
There's, there's no good valuesthat I can find in it, nothing.
And because of that, I have togive that manga a ranking of one
out of ten, okay, king of oneout of ten, okay, it's.

(21:01):
It's really disappointing.
This for the first manga.
I was really excited to startthe series and it just turns out
to be pretty bad.
But but, yeah, if you wereconsidering watching or reading
this, I don't recommend it atall whatsoever.
Look for something else.
So, yeah, that's all I got guys.
Let me know, leave me know, leave me a comment.
If you guys liked it, enjoyedit, agreed, um and um, you know.
