Holiday cheer, knee-surgery jokes, and a stack of Disney Cruise Line would-you-rathers: we put our sea-day priorities to the test and uncover what actually makes a voyage unforgettable. From the big itinerary call—seven unhurried nights on the Disney Fantasy versus a Wish double dip at Castaway Cay—to the most controversial dining debate on the ocean, we weigh time, cost, and vibe to help you plan with purpose.

We get honest about premium dining: Remy and Enchanté deliver exquisite, lingering dinners, while Palo brunch fuels your day without stealing it. Then it’s relaxation versus thrills as we square off between endless AquaDuck or AquaMouse runs and a private cabana on Castaway Cay, complete with shade, chilled towels, and your own slice of calm. Entertainment choices spark strong opinions too—front-row Broadway-style shows versus fireworks from your balcony—and we explain why the longer, crafted experience often wins out.

Shore days and tools matter more than you think. Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point dazzles with powder-soft sand and serene water, tempting even activity lovers away from Castaway’s bike-and-snorkel combo. We also pit paper Navigators against the app with concierge help, and there’s no contest when it comes to stress-free planning. Add in spa serenity versus fish extender chaos, a rare character breakfast victory over a Captain Minnie meet, and a few crossover curveballs—Hades in peak sass mode, dinner with the Madrigals, and the ultimate earworm showdown—and you’ve got a playful guide to dialing in your own perfect cruise.

If you’re mapping a DCL trip, this conversation is your shortcut to smarter choices and happier sea days. Subscribe, share with your Disney crew, and leave a quick rating or review so more fans can find the show. What’s your must-pick: cabana day or brunch at Palo?

Nathan (00:03):
Please stand clear of the doors.
For favor, manténganse a left.

Alicea (00:16):
Please stand clear of the doors.
Hello everyone, I'm Alicia.

Nathan (00:26):
And I'm Nathan.

Alicea (00:27):
Welcome to episode 208 of Adventures and Mouse Capades.

Nathan (00:32):
Merry Christmas.

Alicea (00:33):
Happy Christmas.

Nathan (00:34):
Yeah.
This is coming out just a fewdays before Christmas, and uh,
we're recording long before thatbecause I'm about to have knee
surgery.

Alicea (00:43):
So yay! Currently you're chilling.

Nathan (00:47):
I am chilling and probably feeling very, very
good.
Probably.
Better living through chemistry.
There you go.
Yes.

Alicea (00:56):
This week we are doing a Disney cruise line.
Would you rather?

Nathan (01:01):
Yes.
So we have several questionsthat our uh faithful audience
slash no, that's not true.
It was Copilot helped us come upwith.
Yep.
Um, we haven't looked at thesein advance at all.
We are going to uh debate, livedebate right here with you guys.

Alicea (01:24):
Pre-recorded debate for you guys.

Nathan (01:26):
Pre-recorded live debate.

Alicea (01:28):
It's live for us.

Nathan (01:29):
Sure.
It's live, it's live to tape.

Alicea (01:32):
Live to tape.

Nathan (01:33):
Okay, we're old.
Tape.
Wow.

Alicea (01:37):
Like scotch?

Nathan (01:39):
Yeah.

Alicea (01:40):
I know you didn't think tape for a second there, did
you?
You're like, what are you?
Why is she talking about scotch?

Nathan (01:46):
What does tape have to do with drinking?
I don't understand.
Anyway, all right.
Would you rather DCL edition?
Alicia, may I go first?
Go for it.

Alicea (01:58):
We have not seen these.

Nathan (01:59):
We have not seen these.

Alicea (02:00):
They may be good, they may not be good.

Nathan (02:02):
We'll find out soon enough.
Would you rather a seven-nightcruise on the fantasy or a wish
double dip at Castaway Key?

Alicea (02:15):
Uh seven night on the fantasy.

Nathan (02:17):
Yeah, that's um that's a that's a no-brainer.

Alicea (02:20):
Unless it was a seven night on the wish with the
double dip at Castaway.

Nathan (02:26):
So a wish double dip is going to be seven nights.

Alicea (02:30):
That's true.

Nathan (02:32):
And therefore it will be a double dip.
But you also get to hit Nassautwice.
Yay?

Alicea (02:39):
No, it doesn't say Nassau on there.

Nathan (02:41):
But that's what the Wish sails.
It sails threes and fours, andit hits Nassau and Castaway.
And then the Fournighter adds auh uh a day at sea that goes
nowhere.
Got it.

Alicea (02:56):
Um I still think I do the fantasy.

Nathan (03:00):
Yeah, because you're either getting well, no, what is
it doing these days?
It's kind of roaming all overthe place.
Yeah.

Alicea (03:08):
I don't know.
I haven't finished my mywonderful Excel spreadsheet of
all the cruises.

Nathan (03:15):
You really should be a PM.

Alicea (03:17):
I've I've done I've done the m magic.
Like I've finished the magic.
Yeah.
And I've done January.
Um I'm putting together abeautiful little Excel
spreadsheet because I likeExcel.

Nathan (03:28):
Because you should be a PM.
Okay.
The the world has lots ofproblems that are screws, and
your screwdriver is Excel.

Alicea (03:37):
It's a it's a nice visual representation of the
cruises in calendar format.

Nathan (03:43):
There you go.
There you go.
Anyway, uh I'm with you.
I would rather hang on thefantasy.
Hopefully, one of those stopshits Castaway.
It's probably going to at leasthit Lookout.
Now that is assuming that theFantasy is sailing out of
Florida and this isn't duringthe summer, where it's perhaps

(04:08):
going to Europe or somewhere.

Alicea (04:11):
I'm still doing seven night on the fantasy.
I don't care.

Nathan (04:14):
Okay.
Fair enough.
I like that.
Well, because it has an adultpool that you can get to and
actually swim in.
Yes.
Yes.
Okay.
Co-signed.

Alicea (04:26):
Next.
Yes.
Would you rather dinner at Remyor Enchante every sailing or
brunch at Palo every sailing?
Ooh.

Nathan (04:36):
Ooh.
Well, we're both platinum.
So technically we can.

Alicea (04:43):
No, no, no, no, no.
Would you rather than have topick?

Nathan (04:46):
Dang it.
Um the the Remy or Enchante mealis definitely a much larger
value.
Yeah.
That is uh an expensive dinnerand very fancy and very ornate
and quite honestly lovely.

(05:08):
Palo brunch is like a soliddouble, if I'm using a baseball
analogy.
It may not be a home run, butit's a it's a darn good, like
you're batting in some runs.
I'm scared of Enchanted's menumore often than not.
I can usually deal with Remy.
I know I love everything atpolo.

(05:31):
Does one preclude the other?
If I say polo brunch, am Isaying I could never do Remy or
Enchante?

Alicea (05:39):
I don't know.
This is the problem with WouldYou Rathers, is you can talk
yourself out of and into things.
So uh base value.

Nathan (05:48):
Okay.
I love Polo brunch.
I'm actually gonna go Remy.

Alicea (05:53):
Okay.

Nathan (05:53):
I that is an experience and it's really fantastic.

Alicea (06:00):
I am gonna go Palo Brunch for the reason that
shocker.
Um the the dinners are long.
Yes, they take a lot of time, like three plus hours, four
hours.
Uh they take the Remy ones takea long time.
Yeah, three hours.
Um and it's it's a heavy mealaltogether.

(06:22):
I guess brunch can be two.
But um, I don't think PaloBrunch takes as long.

Nathan (06:31):
And um we've had it take that long, but that's a
different story.

Alicea (06:35):
That's a different story.
And I just think you can stillgo about the rest of your day.

Nathan (06:40):
I'm gonna change my vote to Palo Brunch because it's
gonna be the one place on aDisney cruise where I can
reliably get good scrambledeggs.
Oh my gosh.
Flip flop.
Flip flop.
Moving on.
Would you rather aqua duck oraqua mouse, which I guess is now
a verb, every day or a privatecabana day at Castaway Key?

(07:07):
Um This is a no-brainer for me.

Alicea (07:10):
Um please don't say water slide, or else we're gonna
have some like No, I'm not ahuge water slide person.
I would much rather enjoy acabana at Castaway because that
is an all-day thing.
I guess you could technically doa water slide all day if you
wanted to, but um the cabana isnice.

(07:33):
You have the water right there.
You have shade, you have niceseating, they have chilled
towels there for you.
Very nice.
I would go with a cabana.

Nathan (07:44):
It's it's pretty great.
It's pretty great.

Alicea (07:47):
Are you ready for the next one?

Nathan (07:48):
I am ready for the next one.

Alicea (07:51):
Would you rather a meet and greet marathon or a silent
sunrise on deck with tea andocean?

Nathan (07:59):
I like how you change that from coffee to tea.

Alicea (08:01):
We don't drink coffee.

Nathan (08:03):
Um assuming I naturally woke up before sunrise, I think
I'd enjoy a tea and a croissantuh on the deck uh and enjoy the
sunrise on the ocean.
I don't know that I could dealwith the character energy

(08:24):
prolonged.
It would be cool, but nowpractically speaking, if I have
to set my alarm real early tomake it for sunrise, and I've
been up a little late the nightbefore and maybe having a drink
or two, uh I'm gonna much ratherdo a character breakfast or a
character uh uh marathon andjust enjoy what happens there

(08:47):
than uh have to, you know, wakeup super early.
I mean, I remember we tried todo that when we did the Panama
Canal crossing in 2013, and Igot up to start the camera for
uh uh my time lapse at like 5.15or something like that.
I was like, hey, Leasha, yougonna get up?
You're like, no.

(09:07):
So I have a funny feeling that'syour answer.

Alicea (09:10):
Yeah, no.
For this, I would choose themeet and greet marathon.
Yeah.
We naturally sit on the verandaand watch sunsets all the time.
And I don't think that thiswould be anything different or
or special than what we doanyway.
So having a meet and greetmarathon, just a slew of

(09:30):
characters would be great.

Nathan (09:32):
If this was a meet and greet marathon or a sunset on
deck, a silent sunset on deckwith a drink and stuff, I would
a hundred percent hit sunset.
But it's not.

Alicea (09:44):
So we could do that anytime.

Nathan (09:46):
Exactly.
All right, moving on.
Would you rather have rotationaldining with themed costumes or
the same favorite restaurantevery night with a VIP server?

Alicea (10:01):
I don't know what any of these mean.

Nathan (10:07):
Like, um, I guess this is like DCL versus other cruise
lines, maybe?
I don't know.
I'm going rotational dining.
I don't want to have the samerestaurant every night.
Yeah.
Because rotational dining, I'mstill getting my server coming
with me.

Alicea (10:25):
Yeah.
It's already a VIP server.

Nathan (10:28):
Exactly.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm doing rotational.

Alicea (10:31):
Same restaurant every night.
No.

Nathan (10:34):
No.

Alicea (10:35):
Would you rather?
I don't like this one.
Would you rather Broadway styleshow front row or fireworks at C
Balcony View?
Uh both.
Uh both.
We do, I mean, we've done both.

Nathan (10:45):
So you have done both.
Um the the show's gonna lastlonger.
This is true.
I would argue the front rowisn't necessarily where you want
to be.

Alicea (10:57):
I would agree with you.

Nathan (10:59):
Depends on the show.
Okay, I'm gonna try to notoveranalyze this, which is very
difficult.
I'm gonna go show.

Alicea (11:11):
I agree.
I would rather do show.
The shows are for me moreenjoyable than the fireworks.
Fireworks are fine.
I don't mind them.

Nathan (11:21):
Yeah.

Alicea (11:21):
But I The show's gonna last longer.
The show's gonna last longer, and it will be to me more
entertaining.

Nathan (11:27):
Yeah.
And you can hear the music.

Alicea (11:29):
Yes.

Nathan (11:30):
Versus if you're on your veranda and the fireworks are
going off, you're not hearingthe music.
Or you're on the wrong side ofthe ship.

Alicea (11:37):
Yeah.

Nathan (11:40):
All right.
Let's look at what is next.
Would you rather have a beachday at Lookout Key at Lighthouse
Point or a Castaway Key bike andsnorkel combo?

Alicea (11:56):
For this one, thankfully, we have just been to
Lookout Key and have seen thatbeach.
For this one, I really like thebeach at Lookout.
It's very nice.
It's gorgeous.
The sand is super soft.
The water is really nice.
Castaway is nice as well, but Iam not so much a bike and

(12:20):
snorkel person.
Well, I would love to do thesnorkeling sometime because
we've never done it, and there'sthings to not at Castaway.
I have not done it at Castaway.
Maybe you have.
I have not.

Nathan (12:32):
I remember having a mask and stuff at Castaway and being
forced to wear the vest.
So I know I've done that.

Alicea (12:40):
Okay.
I think maybe Sterling orCaitlin wanted to do it and you
maybe went with them.

Nathan (12:46):
Probably.
Probably.
Yeah.

Alicea (12:48):
Yeah.
Well, I would like to do thatsometime just to see the because
they have the little statues andthings that they've put in the
lagoon there.
For this, I would rather uhbeach day at Lookout.

Nathan (13:00):
Yep.
I'm co-signed.
Alrighty.
That beach was absolutelyfantastic.

Alicea (13:07):
Next one.
Would you rather a navigator appfree cruise?
Old school.
So like the uh what are thiscalled?

Nathan (13:15):
The nav the It was the navigator, right?

Alicea (13:18):
Yeah, it was called the Navigator.

Nathan (13:20):
Versus the Navigator app.
It's just the navigator.

Alicea (13:23):
It's just the navigator.
Would you rather have anavigator only paper copy cruise
or only use the app conciergeeverything?

Nathan (13:33):
Um concierge?
Because then I don't need to usethe app.
I just talk to concierge.
Like, yeah, hey Alice, I'd liketo get a massage.
Hey, Alice, when should I go dothis thing?
Or that yeah, concierge.

unknown (13:50):
Yep.

Alicea (13:51):
This isn't this is a to me, this is a silly question.

Nathan (13:55):
Uh-huh.
100%.
All right.
Would you rather undergo fishextender chaos or spa pass
serenity?

Alicea (14:08):
Well, if we're on the wish treasure destiny,
definitely spa pass serenitybecause that rainforest room is
phenomenal.

Nathan (14:16):
Yes.

Alicea (14:17):
What a beautiful space.

Nathan (14:18):
Uh-huh.

Alicea (14:19):
Lots of just lounge seating area, the two hot tubs
outside.

Nathan (14:24):
Right.

Alicea (14:25):
The cool room inside.
Yeah.
And the the heated loungers.

Nathan (14:29):
Oh my gosh.
I mean, even the other ships, the the dream of the fantasy and
then the magic and the wonder, like those experiences aren't
horrible.
This is true.
And uh a fish extender can bereally fun, but there's a reason
we don't do it anymore.
It's because we've been there.

(14:49):
We've done that.
We are tired of dedicating halfa suitcase to bringing stuff
there and or bringing stuff homeand walking all over the ship
and all the stress that you haveof putting all that stuff
together.
Like it's great, it's fun foryou know great for kids.

Alicea (15:07):
Yes.
Like it really is.

Nathan (15:09):
We're not saying don't do it.
We're just saying we'vegraduated.

Alicea (15:12):
Yeah.

Nathan (15:13):
Yeah.
So spa pass.
Spa pass.
Yes.
Yes.

Alicea (15:17):
Would you rather meet Captain Minnie on deck or
surprise character breakfastwith rare classics?

Nathan (15:23):
Breakfast with classic characters.
Yeah.
Yeah.

Alicea (15:27):
Agreed.

Nathan (15:28):
Great.
Good debate.

Alicea (15:29):
Yes.
Nice job.

Nathan (15:32):
Hey, Alicia, let's do one more group of these.
What do you think?

Alicea (15:37):
Okay.
We can do that.

Nathan (15:38):
All right.

Alicea (15:38):
So this is Disney Cruise Line edition and Crossover
Fandom and Chaos Energy.

Nathan (15:45):
Whoa.
Chaos Energy.
That sounds interesting.
What do you got?
Hit me first.

Alicea (15:55):
Would you rather face off against Isma with zero Kronk
assistance or go head to headwith Hades, but he is in peak
sass mode.

Nathan (16:08):
Ooh.
Wait, is Kronk not helping Yesmaor Kronk's not helping us?

Alicea (16:15):
Kronk's not helping us.

Nathan (16:17):
Oh.
I don't know.
I think I'd enjoy Hades' sass ashe completely owned me a lot
more than Yesma just beingcompletely egotistical,
egotistical and evil.

Alicea (16:30):
I agree.
I like um I like Hades' sarcasmand sass.
I and yeah, Yesma's just mean.
Yeah, exactly.

Nathan (16:41):
Exactly.

Alicea (16:42):
I mean, Hades is is kind of mean, but he's kind of funny
about it too.

Nathan (16:46):
So yeah, the sass.
That's important.
All right.
Alicia, would you rather haveyour life turned into a musical
number by Alan Mencken or adramatic epic by the Russo
brothers?

Alicea (17:01):
Oh, this is fun.
Oh I think as much as I lovemusic, I think I'd rather have a
dramatic epic by the RussoBrothers.

Nathan (17:12):
Okay.
I love that.
I'm gonna take the opposite one.
I'm gonna go musical just cuz.
Just cuz.

Alicea (17:20):
I mean, it's Alan Mencken, so Right, exactly.

Nathan (17:22):
It can't be horrible.
Yeah.
Just don't ask me what like themain theme song would be.
I have no idea.
Yeah, I don't know.

Alicea (17:28):
Or it wouldn't be up to us.

Nathan (17:30):
Well, that's very true.
There, not my problem.

Alicea (17:34):
Would you rather dine with the madrigals or the
ratatouille crew?
Yes, the rats are at the table.

Nathan (17:42):
Uh the madrigals?
Mm-hmm.
Because I want to see likelittle dude's uh forest room.
That's pretty cool.

Alicea (17:50):
Antonio.

Nathan (17:51):
Yeah, sure.
Whatever his name is.

unknown (17:53):
I don't remember.

Nathan (17:54):
That his name?
Sure.
Great.

Alicea (17:56):
I don't I I agree because you wouldn't be able to
understand the rats.

Nathan (18:05):
My hearing aids couldn't get turned up that hard.

Alicea (18:07):
It would just be squeaks and squeaks and squeaks.
Yeah.

Nathan (18:12):
It'd be good, some some good.
Actually, there'd be good foodin both, so never mind.

Alicea (18:16):
That's well, and I totally blanked on her name.
Um, Mirabelle's mom has healingarepas.
And oh, she can fix my knees.
Oh, your eyes just got reallybig.
Yes.

Nathan (18:34):
Yeah, we're totally going there.
Yes.
All right.
Would you rather take a cruiseon the Disney Wish or spend a
month at Alani?

Alicea (18:50):
Oh man, this is this is so pilot.

Nathan (18:53):
You're an idiot.
I don't I don't know.
Let's see, a three or four nightcruise versus a month in Hawaii.

Alicea (18:59):
Hmm.

Nathan (19:00):
Let me think about that.

Alicea (19:02):
Yeah, this is another, this is another no-brainer here.
A month in Hawaii versus threedays on a cruise.

Nathan (19:10):
I think I'm gonna go with Hawaii.
I agree.
I don't mean to surprise you.
Please dial down your shocklevel.

Alicea (19:20):
All right, last one here.

Nathan (19:22):
All right.

Alicea (19:23):
Would you rather be trapped in it's a small world
for one extra loop?
Or here we don't talk aboutBruno on an infinite loop until
someone rescues you.

Nathan (19:35):
Okay, hot take.
I can actually survive smallworld.
It doesn't drive me as insane asit does other people.
We don't talk about Bruno as anabsolute bop.
And I would probably be singingalong.
Now, the question would be untilsomeone rescues you, how

(19:57):
difficult is the rescue?

Alicea (19:58):
Yeah.
Let me change this.

Nathan (20:04):
Okay.

Alicea (20:05):
Would you rather be trapped in it's a small world
for three hours or hear we don'ttalk about Bruno on a loop for
three hours?

Nathan (20:15):
Bruno.
I would much rather be jammingout for three hours.

Alicea (20:20):
I think I would actually do small world.

Nathan (20:24):
No, no, no, no.

Alicea (20:26):
I'll just lay down on the boat and fall asleep.

Nathan (20:28):
Okay, that's fair.

Alicea (20:29):
That song could actually could put you to sleep.
I am very good at tuning thingsout.

Nathan (20:34):
You're not very good at falling asleep, though.

Alicea (20:36):
Oh, that's true.

Nathan (20:42):
Alrighty then.
Well, let's call it there, shallwe?
We have a whole bunch more ofthese, but we're going to save
them for other episodes wheresay, hey, it's Christmas, and
we're pre-recording because I'mabout to have knee surgery, and
let's just get something in thebucket.
So what?
We have we have more content.
