L'abondance de ses reserves de bauxite et de fer a fait de la Guinée un partenaire important pour la Chine en Afrique.
En effet avec son fer de Simandou, la Chine a la chance de réduire fortement sa dépendance au fer australien; et depuis 2017, la Guinée est devenu le principal fournisseur de bauxite de la Chine.
