This week on the Against All Odds Radio Show, hosts Sean V. Bradley, CSP and L.A. Williams discuss how to push forward when life hits you with situations that you are not quite prepared for. To further elaborate, Iron Mike Tyson has one of the best quotes ever, “Everyone has a plan until you get punched in the mouth.” You have to have a plan to handle many different situations. You may not be able to execute on that plan, but it gives you a good starting plan. Chance favors a prepared mind, so one of the best things you can do is to think of all of the possibilities.
Joining Sean and L.A. Williams today is Paul Jimenez, a man who knows what getting punched in the face by life all too well. Paul Jimenez is an Executive Director at Shift Digital, where he has worked since 2011. However, it was not his career that led to this figurative punch. It was October 2015, when his son lost his fight with pediatric cancer at ten years old.
While there is no plan that anyone could have for the loss of a child, it is what you do afterwards that measures a person’s character and ability to push forward. In January 2016, Paul Jimenez channeled his rage, hurt, pain, frustration, anger, and many other emotions to punch back. He founded The PaulieStrong Foundation to fight pediatric cancer and has raised over $1.7 Million to date.
