The time swiftly approaches when Laidley and Merrik will sail for Siness. Though the newly crowned king is grateful for the numbers added to their army, he is wary of them and concerned with their ties to Merrik. After a secret meeting leaves the Captain of Guard with new tools at his disposal, his confidence in himself and his contempt of Laidley only grows. From now on, everything will be different.
