Get ready to have your mind blown! 🤯 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬, 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭, 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. Here are some things you will learn:

✅ Torticollis, a head-turning preference, isn't just a neck issue! It's often connected to the whole body including the pelvis, rib cage, and jaw.

✅ Babies need lots of 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 for development! 🤸‍♀️ Containers like swings and bouncers limit movement and can exacerbate asymmetries.

✅ 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞 matters! Plagiocephaly is a flat spot on one side of the head, while brachycephaly is flatness on the back of the head. Physical therapy can address the root cause of head shape issues and sometimes avoid the need for a helmet.

✅ There's a correlation between 𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐚, 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐬, which can impact 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠. If you notice your baby has a feeding preference, it's important to have it assessed.

✅ 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐬 to watch for: a preference for one hand before the age of three, difficulty with tummy time, not meeting milestones, and feeding issues.

✅ 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠! 🌟 If you feel like your concerns are not being heard, seek a second opinion and find providers who can help your child thrive.

✅ Specially trained physical therapists use a variety of 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬 to address restrictions in motility of soft tissue including fascia, muscle, ligaments and tendons.

✅ 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 in infant care.

✅ A 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 in infancy can be improved with a combination of specially trained physical therapy, occupational therapy, and a tongue and upper lip release, when applicable.
