Kentucky Common may be a lesser known beer style, but it has seen an increase in interest in recent years, thanks at least in part to it now being included in the BJCP Style Guidelines. How do new styles get added to the guidelines? And what is the effect?

Like many beer styles, Kentucky Common evolved because of the ingredients that were available to area brewers and the climate in which they brewed. The Brothers Ortiz
The Brothers Ortiz is the story of two brothers–both successful, but in very different ways. Gabe Ortiz becomes a third-highest ranking officer in all of Texas while his younger brother Larry climbs the ranks in Puro Tango Blast, a notorious Texas Prison gang.
