Ever felt your dream stop fitting like it used to? That quiet shift can feel scary, but it’s also a compass. We open up about moving away from business modules and toward the human side of beauty: touch, transformation, and the small moments in the chair that make people say, I feel like myself again. This isn’t a pivot for the sake of novelty. It’s a return to what feels alive.

We talk about how to recognize the signal that it’s time to evolve—the loss of spark, the heavy feeling before creating, the sense that you’ve given a season everything you had. Instead of forcing momentum, we trace a path back to joy through real client stories, behind-the-chair insights, and simple, evidence-informed routines that respect time and texture. From scalp health to heat habits to color care, we map out practical steps that actually work and pair them with mindset shifts that change how you show up for yourself. Beauty is daily and intimate, and it lives in the rituals you can keep.

If you’ve outgrown an old dream, consider this your permission to trim what’s brittle and make room for growth. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a nudge, and leave a review with the one change you’re ready to make next. Your next beginning starts here.

SPEAKER_00 (01:28):
Hey guys, it's Denise, and today's episode
feels like one of thoseheart-to-heart conversations
we'd have while like blow dryingyour hair, we suddenly get deep.
You know how sometimes yourheart shifts, and even when it
doesn't make perfect businesssense on paper, it just feels
right.
And that's where I've beenlately.

(01:49):
For years I've loved teachingstylists and salon owners how to
grow, but lately my passion'sbeen tugging in a new direction.
I've realized it's time for alittle reinvention for me and
for this podcast.
I've spent so much of my careerhelping others, from new
stylists learning their firstcolor technique to seasoned

(02:12):
owners building thriving teams.
But lately I've noticedsomething I wasn't feeling that
same spark I used to.
I was creating content that wasvaluable, but not lighting me
up.
And that's always my sign thatit's time to evolve.
So I started asking myself, whatdo I still love?

(02:35):
What still excites me?
Well, I love hair.
I love the touch, thetransformation, the stories
behind every client in thechair.
I love talking about realeveryday beauty, and I love
connecting and giving back andcreating joy.
That's what it's about.

(02:55):
So here's the deal.
It's okay to outgrow your olddreams.
Because the truth is, I'velearned this over the years.
Just because something was yourdream once doesn't mean it has
to stay your dream forever.
And sometimes the bravest thingyou can do is outgrow what used

(03:16):
to fit.
You know, like trimming offthose dry brittle ends.
It's not about loss, it's aboutmaking space for new growth.
And that's exactly what thisseason is for me.
And maybe for you too.
See, growth doesn't mean we'vefailed, it just means we've
outgrown one season and we'restepping into another.

(03:37):
And sometimes we think becausesomething was once our dream, it
has to stay that way forever.
But truthfully, every stage oflife asks something new of us.
And the best thing you can do,whether you're behind the chair
or behind the mic, is to listenwhen your passion whispers, it's
time for something new.

(03:59):
See, I found myself staring atmy computer one day, planning
yet another training module.
And I felt nothing, no spark, noexcitement.
And then I realized I hadn'tstopped loving teaching.
I'd simply given it my all.
And now I'm ready for somethingnew.

(04:20):
You see?
What's never left me, not forone single day, is my love for
hair.
The feeling of thattransformation when someone
looks in the mirror and says,Wow, I feel like myself again.
I love the stories that happenin the salon chair.
I love the laughter and thetears and the tiny acts of

(04:41):
confidence that happen withevery color, every cut, every
touch.
And I realized that's what Istill want to talk about.
I don't want to talk aboutsystems, I don't want to talk
about spreadsheets, but I wantto talk about the heart of it
all, the connection with thepeople, the confidence and the
care that we put behind everystrand of hair.

(05:04):
So I started asking myself, howcan I share this love in a new
way?
And the answer is something I'mreally excited about.
So instead of more modules andlesson plans, I'm working on
something new.
Something hands-on, beautiful, and filled with heart.
I can't share too much yet, butlet's just say it's something

(05:27):
you can hold in your hands andnot just listen to on a screen.
I can't spill all the detailsyet because surprises are more
fun, and to be honest, I'm stillworking on it.
But let's say it's creative,it's personal, and it's full of
care.
And it's built around everythingI still love hair, beauty, and

(05:49):
giving back.
So here's what's coming.
We're gonna expand all abouthair to include a little more of
everything that makes us human.
We're gonna still talk abouthair because let's be honest,
hair is never just hair.
But now we're gonna mix in alittle bit behind-the-chair
happenings and real clientstories, and we're going to do

(06:11):
some smart, simple hair careroutines that actually work.
We're also gonna do affirmativemessages to carry you through
your week.
We'll also take a peek behindthe curtain of what's happening
in my everyday life and mybusiness.
This space will feel a littlebit more personal and a little
bit more playful, and a wholelot more me.

(06:32):
So before we wrap up, I'll leaveyou with this week's thought.
When your passion shifts, it'snot the end, it's your next
beginning.
Thank you for being part of myjourney, for listening, for
sharing, and for growing withme.
Something exciting is coming, and I cannot wait for you to be

(06:53):
part of it.
And remember when you knowbetter, you do better.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
