Listen to this inspiring story from Chloe Thomson , a mum of two boys who knew that the way that her child was being taught to read wasn't working so she tried a different approach joining our Step into Literacy program in September 2023.
Her son went from saying that he was dumb and not wanting to go to school to now, a happy kid who can read novels in class - just like all the other kids.
Chloe also banded with other parents at her son's school and was successful in convincing them to update their whole school approach to teaching reading using structured literacy, including daily Orton Gillingham intervention for those kids who need it! 💛
