Our guest today Shelly Knight-Jones, creator of the Knight Technique and Pilates Barre workouts has been through an experience none of us would wish on any woman. In 2022, Shelly was diagnosed with DCIS Stage zero breast cancer and thinking it not such a big deal, went on with her life. But Shelly learned soon after her diagnosis that she needed a lumpectomy. During the procedure, they discovered the pea sized lump was larger than anticipated and when the pathology report revealed non-clean margins, with the advice of her doctor, she made the decision to have a double mastectomy. Today, Shelly is 2 years clean and thankfully, she’s healed remarkably well. Though still passionate about Pilates and her other fitness endeavors, Shelly’s approach to teaching has changed.
