Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, my friends
, if you are ready to thrive in
2025, this is the podcast foryou.
We are going to be talkingabout all of the good stuff.
We're going to talk aboutGLP-1s for medical weight loss.
We're going to talk aboutbioidentical hormones.
We're going to talk aboutpeptides.
We're going to talk aboutsupplements.
We're going to talk aboutmetabolic assessments.
We're going to talk about allof the good stuff to make sure
(00:23):
that you are A-plus on yourlongevity game and you're ready
to thrive in 20 and 25 andbeyond.
All right, so today, friends, weare going to talk about why in
the world I chose to bringwellness to Premier Dermatology
and Aesthetics.
Well, of course, we have alwaysbeen all things skin under one
(00:43):
roof.
That's been our mantra sincethe very beginning, and I've
always wanted to bring thelatest and greatest and the
newest you know technologies, the newest teachings, the newest
medications and protocols hereto Arkansas, to premier
aesthetics and dermatology, dermatology and all things.
(01:07):
Skin has kind of evolved overtime and you know skin is your
biggest organ.
So what is essential forhealthy skin?
Well, of course, optimizingyour overall health, and you
guys know I've been a boardcertified dermatologist since
2003.
During COVID, I was extremelybored.
So I got a second boardcertification, bored because I'm
bored.
I got a board certificationbecause I was bored Isn't that
(01:28):
ironic?
Anyway, so I got certified inlaser medicine and surgery
during that, and so you know I'mobsessed with devices and I buy
devices, like most women wearshoes or buy shoes and handbags
because they're my favoritething.
But then over the last year Iobtained a third board
certification in integrativehealth and anti-aging medicine,
(01:49):
because, guess what, I'm aging,I'm in my 50s now.
You know that whole menopausething yeah, it's a real deal.
And it was so interesting to methat a lot of the things that I
was reading and the podcaststhat I was listening to were not
really translating to what Iwas hearing from local doctors
(02:09):
and I was not getting the kindof treatment, you know, that I
really wanted to have for myself.
And I heard that same storyfrom a lot of my clients, you
know, that are my age and evenolder.
They were getting reallyinformation that I thought was
truly misinformation abouthormones and a lot of my
patients were still on synthetichormones and a lot of my
(02:29):
patients, you know, were doingGLP-1s but they were coming in
so gone and with huge, you knowmuscle atrophy and you know,
yeah, of course they were losingweight, but they weren't
healthy.
They were what I would callskinny fat.
You know they were skinny butthey didn't have any muscle and
you know their metabolic healthwas not good.
Their overall health was notgood.
(02:49):
So I thought, you know whatsomebody's got to do this really
really well and I decided Iwanted to do it really really
well.
So that's why I got the thirdboard certification in
integrative health andanti-aging medicine and that's
why we're bringing wellness toPremier.
(03:11):
So what is going to be includedin this wellness program at
Premier?
Well, certainly one-on-oneconsultations to really assess
your goals, get your labs, review your labs, determine your
wellness plan, and regularfollow-ups to assess your
improvements.
Of course that's going toinclude a skin analysis where we
look at everything going onwith your skin with Avizia and
seeing what's happening there.
That's also going to include afull body skin exam and then
(03:33):
we're going to talk about all ofthe things that you're
concerned about from a healthand wellness standpoint.
We're going to offer you themedical grade supplements that
really are going to meet yourneeds.
We're going to do a Pinoy VO2Max patient assessment for you.
That is a really coolassessment that we do where you
(03:54):
breathe.
Basically, it's a breathingassessment called a VO2 Max, and
it helps you to figure out yourmetabolic health.
It helps to understand yourmetabolic age.
It helps you to understand yourmetabolic age.
It helps you to understand whatkind of nutrition is gonna be
best for you, what kind offitness and workout planning is
gonna be best for you.
And we're also going to offerred light therapy, because I
(04:16):
have become an absolute junkieof red light therapy not med
light, sorry of red lighttherapy, because I truly believe
in its benefits.
We're going to offer medicalgrade weight loss and we're
going to do it really, reallywell with the GLP-1s and also
peptides that support musclemass maintenance, and doing it
(04:38):
really healthy and in a way thatis not going to make you look
gaunt and make you lookunhealthy at the end.
We're going to do peptides andantioxidant injections.
We're doing bioidenticalhormone replacement therapy and,
of course, we're doingcustomized laser and in-office
treatment planning andcustomized skin care because, as
you know, I believe in homework.
(05:01):
So the first thing that we'regoing to talk about today is the
GLP-1s, because that is reallywhere the buzz is right now.
Everybody is looking at medicalweight loss, and these drugs
are really, really amazing.
They do lots of things.
What's so interesting is thatGLP-1 is made naturally in your
gut.
So if your microbiome your gutmicrobiome is not healthy,
(05:24):
you're not making your own GLP-1.
And that starts this wholeinflammatory metabolic
dysfunction cascade thatliterally affects every organ in
your body, from your brain toyour heart, to your stomach, to
your lungs, to your liver, toyour kidneys, to your pancreas.
All of those things are related.
All of the organs in your bodyhave GLP-1 receptors and that's
(05:47):
very bizarre and the brain hasGLP-1 receptors, which is kind
of interesting.
So what we found is that thesemedications don't only help you
lose weight.
They can actually help improveyour cardiovascular health.
They can help improve yourkidney and liver health.
They can actually keep you fromcraving things that you
(06:07):
shouldn't crave, like cigarettesor alcohol.
They're actually amazing forpeople that have substance abuse
disorder.
They're amazing at preventing alot of disorders down the road
that are based on inflammation, because if you get your
metabolic health under control, your body's not inflamed anymore
and every other organ in yourbody works better.
(06:28):
So we are going to customizeGLP-1s to make sure that people
are losing weight appropriatelyand well, but also maintaining
healthy muscle mass andsupporting their metabolic
health with good supplementsthat support the microbiome and
support their own GLP-1production, which is something
that I don't think anybody elsein the area is really doing very
(06:50):
well.
So that's number one GLP-1s.
Number two we're going to dopeptides and injectables, and
peptides are this compound.
They're compounds.
They're basically proteins thatare strung together in
different chains that dodifferent things.
Most of the hormones in ourbodies are peptides.
Glp-1s are peptides, but thenthere are other peptides that
(07:12):
you can use to kind ofsupplement overall health and
well-being.
One of those is calledsamorilin and a lot of patients
that are on GLP-1s need to be onthat.
It's a human growth hormonesecretagogue.
There's a new word for ussecretagogue.
So basically, this compoundincreases your body's production
and secretion of human growthhormone and over time our bodies
(07:36):
kind of stop producing humangrowth hormone.
So it's harder to put on musclemass as we age, it's harder to
maintain that strength that wewant to keep.
So if you do some oralin alongwith your GLP-1s, as you're
losing weight, you maintain thatmuscle mass and it's amazing.
We're also going to be doingNAD+, which is an amazing.
(07:57):
Basically it's an antioxidant.
It helps to repair DNA, ithelps to regulate your
metabolism, it supports healthyskin, it supports cognitive
health.
It just helps to calm downinflammation through your whole
body.
Same thing with glutathione,another antioxidant.
It helps combat all the freeradicals and all the damage that
(08:18):
your cells and your bodysustain, and so it helps you
recover from any injuries, from, you know, disease, to help to
prevent inflammatory disorders.
Nad and glutathione can be hugefor that.
We do B12 supplements, becauseso many people are going to be
deficient in B12 and so manypeople are deficient in vitamin
(08:38):
D.
So those are things that we'regoing to be helping really to
supplement to really over youknow, overall improve overall
health for patients.
There's also a really coolpeptide that I'm super
interested in that we're lookingat called GHK-CU, and it is a
copper peptide that is hugelyanti-inflammatory and extremely
good for overall skin health, soit helps to also remove damage
(09:02):
and scar tissue.
It helps to rejuvenate healthytissue.
So it's going to be one ofthose peptides that I think
we're going to be recommendingfor a lot of the big procedures
that we do, because I think it'sgoing to really help people get
optimal outcomes and reallyheal better and faster, with
less risk of scarring, so reallyexcited about some of the
peptides that we have bringingyou here to Premier.
(09:23):
So the next one is going to bewhy are we talking about
bioidentical hormone and hormonereplacement therapy?
Well, I started on hormonereplacement therapy several
years ago, turned out that Iended up having horrible
fibroids.
This is too much informationfor many of you guys.
So if you're a guy and you wantto not hear about periods, you
(09:44):
might want to tune out for about14 seconds.
But I was having these horribleperiods like every two weeks
and literally I felt like I wasbleeding to death and it was
horrible.
This was back when my bestfriend was still alive, my dear,
dear Dr Paige Partridge-Hicks,and she promptly said we're
having, we're getting, ahysterectomy, we're getting rid
of this business, and that waswonderful, best thing that ever
(10:05):
happened.
And my ovaries continued towork for a couple of minutes
after that, and then what Ifound out, you know, down the
road about a year later, is thatoften when you have a
hysterectomy and you have justyour uterus removed, your
ovaries can stick around, butthe blood supply to the ovaries
gets compromised sometimes, sometimes, and often the ovaries
(10:30):
are not far behind and theyjust kind of quit working.
And that happened for me.
So I went through fairly abruptmenopause right before I turned
50.
And with menopause and guys, menopause happens to you guys
too.
It's just not called menopause,it's called andropause.
Some people think it should becalled manopause, but you know,
either way, it's just semantics.
Either way, what happens iseverybody that suffers these
(10:51):
things starts feeling forgetful.
Women have hot flashes.
Men and women both have moodswings and loss of motivation
and lack of focus and lack ofenergy.
All of us lose muscle mass.
Men start to have mild tomoderate to erectile dysfunction
.
Women start having vaginaldryness and pain with sex,
(11:12):
headaches, insomnia, weight gain, bone loss all kinds of bad
things start happening.
And you know, I just read thisbook that says normal is not
optimal.
And you know, what I washearing from a lot of doctors is
that, you know, menopause isnormal, andropause is normal.
Andropause is normal.
Ok, well, fine, just becauseit's normal doesn't mean it's
(11:34):
optimal.
You know, why should we sufferthese things?
Why should we have an increasedrisk of osteoporosis as women?
Why should we have an increasedrisk of heart disease and
cardiovascular disease?
Why should we have an increasedrisk of Alzheimer's and other
types of dementia, because ourhormones are decreasing with
menopause.
It's not optimal.
We don't want to live like that, you know, into our 80s, 90s
(11:57):
and sometimes even beyond.
Now we're really taking care ofourselves.
So why not support the hormonestatus of your body so that the
rest of your organs maintaintheir health and longevity, just
like you're planning to do withthe rest of your organs?
Maintain their health andlongevity, just like you're
planning to do with the rest ofyour body.
So hormones are very important, and bioidentical hormones are
(12:17):
the hormones that are identicaltruly to the hormones that are
in your body, and nothing thatyou get from a true
pharmaceutical company can bebioidentical, and that's been an
epiphany to me.
Why are doctors stillprescribing synthetic hormones?
Because synthetic hormones arenot natural.
They are not as good, theydon't bind to the same receptors
(12:39):
.
Sometimes they actually canincrease your risk of cancer,
like oral estrogens.
If you take an oral estrogen,it gets converted to the more
dangerous type of estrogencalled estrone in your body,
which can actually increase yourrisk of breast cancer and other
cancers.
If you do bioidentical estrogen, either topically or in pellet
form or in a patch type form, that is identical to your
(13:04):
natural estrogen and it's goingto do all of the good things in
your body and actually decreaseyour risk of all of those bad
things, including breast cancerand other cancers.
So as long as you're doingbioidentical hormones, you're
doing great.
But so many doctors don't knowanything about bioidentical
hormones because much of oureducation, sadly, is from big
(13:25):
pharma and big pharma cannotcreate a bioidentical hormone
because they have to come upwith a new substance.
They have to come up withsomething that is different from
the identical hormones thatyour body makes, because that's
the only thing they can sell.
Fda won't approve that.
So all of the estrogens andprogesterones and things that
(13:47):
are coming from big pharma aredifferent from your bioidentical
hormones.
And that's not because bigpharma is bad or evil.
It's just because that's howthey make money.
And most of the doctors havelearned from big pharma which
drugs are best for you, ratherthan learning from what really
your body needs, which are thebioidentical hormones.
So you can't be mad at yourdoctors.
(14:08):
You can't throw bioidenticalhormones.
So you can't be mad at yourdoctors, you can't throw them
under the bus.
But you can also learn thatbioidentical is definitely what
you need and that's what we'reoffering and we are customizing
the treatment based on yourhormone levels.
We're monitoring you superclosely.
We're watching everything, notjust your estrogen, progesterone
and testosterone.
(14:29):
But we're watching everything, not just your estrogen,
progesterone and testosterone, but we're looking at your
cholesterol, we're looking atyour blood count.
We're looking at all of thethings, including your thyroid,
because all of the thyroids inyour body work together to make
you healthy and if you're notoptimizing all of them, then
you're not going to get a greatresult.
So that's why bioidenticalhormones, hormones and that's
why we're bringing it to Premieris because I felt like we
(14:51):
needed more of a holisticapproach to all things wellness
and all things longevity.
I talked to you a little bitalready about some of the
medical grade supplements thatwe have.
We have some of the bestsupplement companies on board
with us.
We're working with PendulumHealth, we're working with
Calroy Science.
These are a lot of the you knowthe companies that, a lot of
(15:13):
the big people out there thatare really proposing, you know,
this longevity approach, likePeter Attia, Mark Hyman, you
know a lot of these guys arereally talking about this
longevity push and this, youknow, really not just living
longer, but living better.
We want to, you know, live toour very longest potential.
(15:37):
But we don't want to live toour longest potential sick and
debilitated.
We want to live to our longestpotential feeling really healthy
and getting to do all thethings that we want to do,
including travel and work andall of those things.
So we are going to be bringinglots of things, including
microbiome support, because alot of people may not realize,
but gut health leads toeverything else.
Most of the antidepressantsthat your body naturally makes
(16:02):
are made in your gut.
Your GLP-1s, which are thepeptides that help you maintain
your weight loss.
They're made in your GI tract.
Your GI tract is responsiblefor absorbing every medication,
every supplement that you take, every food that you ingest, and
it's responsible for detoxingyour body as well.
So if your microbiome and yourgut health is not there, then
(16:25):
nothing else is going to be verygood either.
So we really have greatmicrobiome support, including
powerful probiotics andprebiotics and lots of things
that can support your microbiome, along with all kinds of other
supplements that can help you, based on your deficiencies and
what your lab work shows.
So we're really excited aboutthe medical-grade supplements
(16:46):
that we're bringing to you guysas well.
So, beyond supplements.
You know there are things thatcan really alter your DNA and
that sounds bizarre, but it'skind of the wave of the future
and looking at things that canreally help fix issues,
especially fix issues that allof us suffer, which is telomere
(17:07):
shortening.
So, first of all, what's atelomere?
Some of you guys have probablyheard of telomeres, but maybe
not, maybe not all.
Telomere comes from a Greek wordcalled, called from telos,
which means end, and telomeresare an essential part of human
DNA.
They're basically the littlecaps at the end of each strand
(17:27):
of DNA that protect ourchromosomes, kind of like the
plastic tips at the end ofshoelaces.
Ok, without that coating orwithout that protective telomere
, the DNA becomes sprayed likeold tennis shoelaces and the DNA
then can no longer do its job.
So the DNA strands becomedamaged and their cells can't
(17:48):
replicate, and then the cellsbecome damaged, sometimes
cancerous, sometimes obsolete.
They kind of into what arecalled zombie cells that just
basically do nothing good inyour body.
They just hang around asdamaged material.
And so there is a very, verycool new supplement called TA-65
Pro that is actually telomeresupport.
(18:11):
It's a patented and allplant-based compound.
It helps maintain or rebuildyour telomeres, and so it is
very, very cool because, as thelength of a person's telomeres
tend to really mimic theirlifespan, so if your telomeres
are short, you're not going tolive much longer.
(18:31):
If your telomeres are long andreally healthy, then your cells
are really healthy and they'renot as likely to have damage
from exterior or outside forces, and so you're going to live
longer.
So the real biologic age of aperson's body is more or less
measured by their telomerelength leak.
(18:58):
So it's very, very cool.
In order to stay healthy, youneed to be able to, at the
cellular level, promote andprotect your telomeres, and
TA-65 is the only supplement outthere that can do that.
So, really excited about this,I'm taking it, of course.
Well, I'm taking everything.
You should see this handful ofstuff that I'm taking, but I'm
definitely taking this.
I'm super excited to talk toyou more about TA-65 because
(19:18):
it's a very, very cool, veryinteresting and different
supplement.
So the next thing I really wantto address with you guys and
this is something that's super,I think, important in just
overall wellness is to reallysee where you are as a person.
You know a lot of places you goin.
You kind of do this cookiecutter regimen.
(19:40):
Okay, yeah, we're going to putyou on this dose of GLP-1.
Yeah, we're going topotentially maybe give you this
hormone supplement.
Maybe we're going to give you alittle B12.
Maybe we'll give you a littleglutathione infusion.
But no one's really assessingthe person to see where you are
and what you actually need.
And that's what we're bringingto the game now.
So we have brought this reallycool company in.
(20:02):
It's called PNOE, p-n-o-e, andit's a metabolic assessment tool
and it is amazing.
It can help you with weightloss, it can help you with
weight loss maintenance, it canjust help you with overall
health and well-being, dependingon what your goals are.
So what you do is you come inand we do this Pinoy test.
It's actually a VO2 max, iswhat it is.
(20:25):
So you can do it just resting.
It's a breathing test.
All you do is sit there andbreathe and then there's a kind
of more of an active form whereyou get on a bike with the same
equipment.
There's a kind of more of anactive form where you get on a
bike with the same equipment andit really assesses your VO2 max
, which tells you your metabolichealth, your metabolic age,
which can help you figure out.
You know where you are in yourlongevity battle.
(20:47):
And then this technology isamazing because it analyzes your
metabolic, cellular and lungfitness in such a precision way
that it really helps you breakdown your optimal exercise
regimen.
It can tell you how much cardioyou should be doing, how much
interval training you should bedoing, how much resistance
training you should be doing, customized specifically for you.
(21:10):
It can tell you, based on yournatural calorie burn, how many
calories do you need a day, what's your optimal intake to
sustain a healthy weight or tolose weight, and it's also going
to measure your fat burn withvery accurate precision.
It's going to help you figureout what.
How much carbohydrates do youneed?
How many grams of you knowprotein do you need in a day?
(21:33):
Yeah, of course, everybody'ssaying 100, you know, I'm
hearing 100 milligrams.
You know as do you need in aday?
Yeah, of course, everybody'ssaying 100, you know, I'm
hearing 100 milligrams.
You know as kind of this 100grams as the standard.
That's not a standard, that'sjust a generic thing.
This tells you, based on yourbody and your specific fuel burn
, and what specific fuel mix youneed.
So how much fat do you need, how many carbs do you need and
(21:54):
how much protein do you need andit carbs do you need and how
much protein do you need.
And it's also going to help youunderstand, metabolically, you
know what foods are going togive you those things.
Maybe you don't want to take ahandful of supplements every day
.
Maybe you want to get thismostly from your food.
This is going to tell youexactly what you need.
And at the top tier of ourwellness program, you actually
get personalized consultationswith nutritionists from Pinoy
(22:19):
and also exercise physiologistsfrom Pinoy.
So you're going to get acustomized plan that is going to
give you everything you need toreally optimize your health,
optimize your wellness, optimizeyour fitness and your nutrition
, not just lose the weight.
And then, while you're doing allof those things, of course
we're going to be supportingyour skin.
Of course we're going to berecommending the best skincare
(22:42):
out there for you.
We're going to be recommendinglaser procedures or chemical
peels or in-office treatments toreally keep your skin healthy
and optimized, like we alwayshave.
And we're also going to beoffering some treatments that
maybe are going to help withfemale wellness.
We're also going to be offeringsome treatments that help with
skin tightening as we're losingweight.
(23:04):
That's the biggest problem thatwe're seeing with the GLP-1s is
that people come in with a lotof skin laxity.
So we have Cutera TrueSculpt.
That can actually help tone themuscles for you in areas where
it doesn't matter how manysit-ups you do, you're not going
to get a lot of toning in theabdomen or sometimes in the
glutes.
It's really hard to buildmuscle there and the TrueSculpt
(23:26):
can really help you do that, along with the other things that
you're doing from a nutritionand working out kind of
standpoint.
So we have TrueSculpt that canhelp.
We have TrueFlex that can helpbuild muscle mass, and so these
are amazing things that we canbe doing.
We also have Emcella, which canhelp with pelvic floor
(23:47):
dysfunction.
So women that are having, youknow, incontinence or maybe
really feeling like you need toget up and go to the bathroom 15
times at night, maybe you leakurine when you sneeze or when
you try to, you know, do jumpingjacks and things like that
M-Cella can really help with allof those things.
We also are partnering withQTERA to bring their newest
(24:10):
technologies and in-mode theirnewest technologies and in mode
their newest technologies forfeminine health that can help
with vaginal atrophy or vaginaldryness and help with tightening
of the vaginal wall and thingslike that.
So improved sexual function, improved vaginal health,
improved, you know, naturalsecretions, and all of the
(24:32):
things that are just going tomake your intimate health much,
much more fabulous for you.
So we're working full body, total body, total person to try
to bring optimal health to allof our patients and, of course,
our staff Our staff are superexcited about all of this
because they're getting to jumpon board to do all of these fun
(24:52):
things too.
We have launched a membershipprogram, and memberships are
something that we've neverreally done.
We've had the open house events, which have always been great,
where people can put money onaccount both fall and spring and
then get 20% off all of theprocedures that we offer for the
most part, and also skincareand things like that, but a lot
(25:16):
of people, even though we try tomake open house really
accessible, a lot of people donot, you know, take advantage of
it, or they miss it, or they'reout of town, traveling, and so
we've decided that what we wantto do is we're going to have
three levels of membership andat each one of these levels, you
basically get open house priceall year long, so you don't have
(25:39):
to put a bunch of money down atopen house.
We're still going to have openhouse.
So nobody, nobody, panic.
We love open house and we'restill going to have these big
parties where we show you allthe newest and latest and
greatest things that we bringhere to the area.
But the memberships are justgoing to be, you know, another
option for people, and so whatwe found is that we're going to
(26:00):
have three different tiermemberships.
Tier one is going to be thelowest one.
It's going to be only $75 amonth, and if you pay in $75 a
month, that money just getsbanked.
So it's not like a lot of othermembership programs where the
fee is just something that goesaway and you don't really get
anything for it.
So that $75 is going to build.
(26:22):
So every month you're going toget another $75 in your bank.
You're going to get open houseprice for everything.
You're going to get acustomized Vizia analysis, which
is a skin analysis that weoffer for our patients, and
we're also going to do acustomized makeup application
and mini session for you.
And then at the second tier, which is just a little bit more
(26:43):
per month that's $175 per monthYou're also going to get the
open house pricing.
You're going to get the Viziaanalysis.
You're going to get the makeupapplication.
You're also going to get a fullconsultation with me after your
Visi analysis and after yourPanoe evaluation.
That you get complimentary andwe're going to really make a
customized plan for what you'regoing to do for the whole year,
(27:06):
for your wellness journey, foryour treatments at Premier, for
your homework, for skin care andhealth and wellness.
We're going to just sit downand make a huge plan and I'm
going to walk you through that.
You're also going to get accessto red light therapy at Premier.
We've brought in a juve, redlight wall and Theradome and we
also have red light masks thateverybody can take advantage of
(27:29):
when they're there fortreatments.
But they can also just come inand have red light therapy based
on the tier of membership thatthey have.
And then the very top tier ofthe memberships is going to be
$375 a month.
Sounds like a lot, but that'syour money and it's just getting
built.
You're just putting it in.
So that gives you a yearlysubscription of $4,500 that
(27:54):
