Julie, how are you doing?
We recorded last week's episodehaving to do with travel
resolutions before Christmas.
So we haven't seen each otherfor like two weeks.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (01:05):
has been a while.
I have been on a cruise sincethen

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (01:09):
Yes, so instead of just saying I was
on a cruise, tell everybodywhere you were on Christmas Day.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (01:15):
I was on Castaway Cay on Christmas Day.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (01:19):
You were on Castaway Cay, on the
beach, eating lunch at Cookies,or maybe Cookies 2, just having
a wonderful day on the cruise.
That's awesome.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (01:30):
We did have a great day on the beach.
So, Ryan, give us a little bitof a recap.
We're going to talk about 2025today, but let's just take a
moment, look back at 2024, andgive us a quick highlight of
what we saw come to Disney Worldin 2024.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (01:49):
Sure, so a lot of things.
Tiana's Bayou Adventure, openedin Magic Kingdom.
The Island Tower at Disney'sPolynesian Resort, which I know
you're really excited about,Julie, opened just recently and
it's getting some really ravereviews.
Communicore Hall opened atEBCOT, so that's gonna be,
support for all the festivalsand things like that.

(02:11):
over at Disneyland, ParadisePier re themed to Pixar Pier,
and my guests who have beenthere love the theming of that
resort.
Also at Disneyland, you had RunDisney returning, which I know
you're a big Run Disney fan,Julie, There were big changes to
the lightning lane system andoverall it seems to be going

(02:31):
pretty well.
So 2024 Definitely big thingswith Disney.

j_1_01-05-2025_193 (02:37):
conveniently we talked about all of those
things about this time lastyear, perfect timing for this
next episode that's going to goall about what's happening in
2025.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (02:51):
before we talk about 2025 I'm going to
remind folks if you did notlisten to last week's episode.

least a couple things on thatlist that are going to make you

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (03:20):
we're going to start with Walt Disney
World and the Disneydestinations, and after that
we'll switch over to Cruise Lineand Universal.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (03:30):
Sounds great.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (03:31):
Ryan's going to put the link for all
this stuff in the show notesbecause there is a lot coming to
Walt Disney World.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (03:38):
Okay, I'll do that.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (03:40):
let's start over at Hollywood Studios.
There's some new shows thatwe're going to be seeing this
year.
The first is Disney Villains,Unfairly Ever After.
I love the idea of this showthat does a backstory for the
villains.
I think it's going to be reallycute.
It's taking over where LightningMcQueen Academy currently is on

(04:01):
Sunset Boulevard.
And I think it's going to be areally great, peek into what
could be coming to VillainsLand.
in Magic Kingdom in a coupleyears.
The other show that is finallyreopening in Hollywood studios
is The Little Mermaid, A MusicalAdventure.

(04:23):
And if anyone remembers, thevoyage of The Little Mermaid

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (04:27):
I do.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (04:28):
for four and a half years.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (04:30):
So what's funny, Julius, until they
announced at D23 that they wereredoing this, I didn't know
that, The Little Mermaid voyagewas closed.
I just assumed it opened upafter COVID.
That's as much as I go to thelittle kids area in Hollywood
studios.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (04:47):
Because it is over an animation
courtyard, but here's the thing.
When you're walking intoHollywood Studios and you go
straight towards the Chinesetheater, veer right and then
make that left to go backtowards Toy Story Land, you see
this huge Little Mermaid statueand everyone is like, Oh, what's

(05:09):
that?
And you're like, Oh, it's beenclosed for four years.
if you went to Disney in the 90sas a kid, you remember the
bubble scene and the puppets inthe show.
So I'm excited for that to comeback over in Epcot, we've got
two big things happening.
We have a new lounge, theSpaceship Earth Lounge, which I
think is going to look reallycute and it's supposed to have a

(05:31):
great viewing area for thenighttime shows, which currently
is luminous.
the lounge sounds like it'sgoing to be like on the back
side of Spaceship Earth.
Test Track will be reopening in2025.
Now they've started to releasesome concept art for this, but I

(05:52):
really hope it kind of goes backto what it used to be because it
hasn't been as great of anattraction as it used to be.
we'll see what happens.
Magic Kingdom, this might be theone I am absolutely the most
excited for.
The new nighttime parade DisneyStarlight Dream the Night Away
is happening summer 2025 and Ijust miss the nighttime parades.

(06:16):
I feel like they're missing sucha chunk of entertainment

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (06:19):
Yeah, I agree.
there's just something magicalabout being at a Disney park at
night and this just adds onemore reason to be there.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (06:27):
I have.
So many clients who ask me abouta nighttime parade, and I'm
like, oh, there isn't one.
So I'm excited that this iscoming back.
The other piece is that there isa Pirates of the Caribbean
inspired tavern opening inAdventureland in 2025.
will this be the first, like, standalone lounge in Magic

(06:49):
Kingdom?

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (06:50):
This will be the first standalone
lounge that serves alcohol atMagic Kingdom.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (06:56):
for the longest time, no Disney park
served alcohol.
And then Magic Kingdom, it wasalways, they're never going to
serve alcohol.
And then it was, they're onlyserving it in sit down
restaurants.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (07:08):
right And I don't believe those
restaurants have standalonelounges like the other parks do.
this is awesome.
It's going to be a greattheming.
It's going to be lots of fun.
I'm anticipating pirates, singing sea shanties, and having
some really cool drinks.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (07:25):
some yo ho ing going on.
just a couple more things comingto Walt Disney World.
The first being Zootopia BetterZoo Gather is replacing

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (07:35):
it?

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (07:36):
It's Tough to Be a Bug in Animal
Kingdom.
And I feel like that that's wellneeded and it ties right into
The new land that is coming toAnimal Kingdom, the tropical
America's land, that will bereplacing dino land.
it might be right after thisepisode comes out that it's your
last chance to ride TriceratopsSpin and see that Chester and

(07:59):
Hester area in Dinoland.
They Dinosaur is staying openthrough December.
2025.
it's going to be a gradualclosure in, Animal Kingdom.
And After Hours events arecoming back to Hollywood
Studios, Magic Kingdom, andEpcot.
That's what's been announced sofar.
Those are separately ticketedevents, but they're really

(08:20):
popular.
So it's a good thing thatthey're bringing them back again
this year.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (08:24):
Yeah, these are all really exciting.
I really like It's Tough to be aBug.
I understand why they'rechanging it.
after being in that show severaltimes, I always kind of like to
go and everybody thinks it's alittle kid's show, and then
about halfway through the kidsstart crying, and, it's just
kind of fun.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (08:41):
Can you tell why the kids are crying?

ryan_1_01-05-2025_1939 (08:43):
because, you know,

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (08:44):
don't

ryan_1_01-05-2025_19392 (08:44):
Because it feels like bugs are crawling
on the seats, and there's bugsflying around, I I'm excited for
this, cause Zootopia's a greatmovie, and a great, Disney
story.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (08:56):
Zootopia 2 will be coming out.
I'm sure they're, linking itwith that.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (09:03):
So let's head over to the west
coast to Disneyland.
It is a big year in 2025 becauseDisneyland is celebrating its
70th anniversary beginning May16th.
some new things are comingthere.
There's going to be an update toWorld of Color.
it's a new show called World ofColor Happiness featuring Pixar.

(09:26):
Paint the Night Parade returnsto Disneyland Park.
We also have several festivals.
Lunar New Year, CelebrateGospel, California Adventure
Food and Wine Festival, StarWars Season of Hope, Disneyland
Halloween Time, A Celebration ofCoco, Plaza de la Familia.
the holiday event is called TheHolidays Begin Here, and that

(09:50):
starts on November 14th, andthat is also in conjunction with
the festival of the holidays.
Now, Julie, I know I'm gonnahave at least one client that's
upset because the reason theylike to go to Disneyland is
something that is not here thisyear, and that's Pixar Fest.
And I'm gonna try to tell herwith the 70th anniversary going

(10:14):
on, there is tons of stuff thatwe don't know yet, and we also
know there's gonna be lots ofsurprises.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (10:21):
That and that new World of Color show is
focusing on Pixar.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (10:26):
yeah, so

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (10:27):
will be other tie ins

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (10:28):
that's the hope.
And then Disneyland does areally good job of having some
very specific ticketed events.
And in this next year we've gotSweetheart's Night, Star Wars
Night, Pride Night, and theOogie Boogie Bash.
So there's a lot of reasons tothink about going to Disneyland.
It's just going to be a reallyspecial year there.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (10:48):
with that 70th anniversary celebration,
like you mentioned, they'vebarely announced

ryan_1_01-05-2025_1939 (10:55):
Correct,

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (10:55):
So we'll have to keep an eye on that.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (10:58):
All right, Julie.
before we head on to DisneyCruise Line and Universal
Orlando, I want to talk aboutwhere in the world does all
things travel, but I want to doa little bit of a spin on it
because this is the first timethat we're recording in 2025.
I want to give a quick recap ofour podcast in 2024.

(11:19):
How does that sound?

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (11:20):
this sounds fun.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (11:21):
in 2024, we had 25, 000 downloads
of All Things Travel.
We did 50 episodes, becausethat's when the stats come out.
We have kept a weekly recordsince beginning the show, which
I am super proud of.
We have been listened to in 95countries.

(11:43):
The top city for listening isMinneapolis, Minnesota, followed
by Chicago, Illinois, followedby New York City, New York,
followed by Charlotte, NorthCarolina, and then finally Los
Angeles, California.
So we are hitting all over theUnited States.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (12:01):
That's really fun.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (12:02):
And I mentioned 95 countries, so the
United States is our top one, followed by Canada, the United
Kingdom, Australia, and Ireland.
Our top episodes in in 2025 wasnumber one,

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (12:17):
In 2024.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (12:18):
In 2024 is a visit to Amsterdam,
all about river cruising, whichwas our live episode after I
returned from Amsterdam, yourintroduction to visiting Dublin,
Ireland, which has always beenone of our highest rated
episodes ever that we've done onthis show, Pacific Coast Driving
Trip Part one.

(12:40):
And a family trip to Japan withLen and Don.
So an extra thank you again toLen and Don, our friends from
Chicago, for being on the show.
those are pretty fun stats tothink about the work that we put
in and the fun that we have withour listeners with All Things
Travel.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (12:57):
That was a great recap.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (12:59):
All right, Julie, let's talk about
Disney Cruise Line.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (13:03):
Okay, so this one's pretty short because
I did not want to give you athousand details about the new
cruise ships.
Um, the biggest thing is thatthe Disney Destiny will set sail
in November of 2025.
I don't know about you, Ryan,but Obviously, I've been
following what's going on withthe Disney Destiny we get emails

(13:28):
and, they tell us all the thingsevery time, they put a piece of
paint on the ship.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (13:32):
Pretty much.
yes, we've added room numbers.
Let's send an email.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (13:35):
there was a commercial for the Disney
Destiny that was played duringthe Christmas parade on
Christmas morning.
I did not watch it on Christmasmorning because I was on
Castaway Key, but we watched itwhen we came home.
And the commercial that came outduring that parade, I pretty
much went straight to mycomputer to look at itineraries

(13:56):
of when I could get on thisship.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (13:59):
looks that good.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (14:00):
so amazing.
It is a heroes and villainstheme.
so if you've got kids that areat all into Marvel characters or
villains, this ship is amazing.
Spider Man is on the front ofthe ship.
You walk into the atrium andBlack Panther is there.

(14:20):
my kids were obsessedimmediately.
I did not book it yet.
But I cannot wait to get on this

ryan_1_01-05-2025_1939 (14:27):
emphasis on the word yet.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (14:29):
Yeah, I really want it to.
I just can't squeeze it in.
so that is sailing from US

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (14:35):
That's exciting.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (14:36):
we have some ideas on the itineraries
and if you're interested inbooking on that ship, reach out
to us because they are availablefor booking.
The other ship that's launchingthis year is the Disney
Adventure and that ship isunlike any other Disney Cruise
Line ship.
It's actually sailing fromSingapore and it's really doing,

(14:57):
short cruises around that area.
is an amazing ship.
It is not a ship that Disneybuilt or commissioned.
They purchased it and redid it.
so it is a very differentlayout.
It kind of has that neighborhoodfeel to it where they've got
different neighborhoods andthey're all themed.
It does sound amazing,

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (15:18):
it's definitely exciting with both of
those ships when we're thinkingabout Disney Cruise Line.
this is the biggie Julie.
I think on this show.
Disney has a lot of things goingbut boy down the street There is
Epic Universe a brand new themepark area I'm excited about it.
My son and I are actuallyplanning on going early summer.

(15:42):
So we're actually gonna checkthis out

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (15:44):
No way!

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (15:45):
Epic Universe, and again, I will put,
a link for this information inthe show notes so you can check
it out for yourself, but it'sgoing to be comprised of five
lands, first being the WizardingWorld of Harry Potter, Ministry
of Magic, there's going to be anew ride, Harry Potter and the
Battle of the Ministry, that Ibelieve is not going to be open

(16:08):
right when Epic Universe opens, but it's certainly going to be,
coming soon, but the HarryPotter land will be open.
in this land, wonders awaitinside the tent of Le Cirque
Arcanis, which is a callback toone of the, Fantastic Beasts
movies, Morwand Magic inWizarding Paris, so they're
going to have kind of a Parisarea or theme shop of, for the

(16:32):
finest wands at Cosme AjourBaguettes Magique, if you've
seen the movies it's absolutelymagical in the way that it
looks.
And then you're also going toenjoy French inspired cuisine in
the Wizarding World at CaféL'Air de la Cyrene.
it feels like we're going to goto World Showcase and Harry

(16:53):
Potter's going to be there.
How amazing is that going to be?

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (16:56):
Yeah, like heavy of a Paris theme

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (16:59):
Yeah,

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (16:59):
with the Fantastic Beasts movies, I still
love the callback to theMinistry of Magic and that ride
is going to be so cool.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (17:07):
So the second land, and this is
actually the one that my son, who's, 16, is most excited
about, the Super Nintendo world.
And he said this is his mainfocus, to ride the Mario Kart.
We've got Mario Kart Bowser'sChallenge, which is going to be
amazing.
We've got a Donkey Kong ride.

(17:28):
It's mine cart madness withDonkey Kong.
We've got Yoshi's adventures.
We have meet Mario, Luigi, andmore, and see what chef toad is
cooking up at the toadstoolcafe.
So we're going to have Marioinspired, food and treats.
This is going to be a fun land.
it's going to be bright.
It's going to be colorful.

(17:49):
it's just going to feel amazing.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (17:51):
As I got ready to sit down to record
this, my kids are actuallywatching the Super Mario movie
downstairs.
It's a favorite for them.
And of course, I grew up playingit,

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (18:03):
Yeah.
Yeah.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (18:04):
wait for that world.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (18:05):
Very cool.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (18:07):
Okay, so there's also going to be three
other lands we're going to touchon.
The first is How to Train YourDragon, the Isle of Berk.
This is based on the How toTrain Your Dragon movies.
There's going to be a couplerides and then some
entertainment and some food.
So you'll have hiccups winggliders, which is like a soaring
and swooping ride.

(18:28):
The Untrainable Dragon is a liveshow you can go see Dragon
Racers Rally is another ridewhere you'll be doing acrobatic
maneuvers, trying to become achampion, dragon racer.
There's also going to be FireDrill, F Y R E, where some

(18:52):
characters have created a wateryboat battle.
So that sounds exciting, but

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (18:56):
And we know that Universal does water
rides.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (18:59):
it'll be a fun one.
You can also do Viking TrainingCamp, which is for little ones.
And it's going to be all sortsof climbing structures, like a
very interactive play area.
And Mead Hall, where Vikings canfeast on hearty menu of meats,
fish, and drinks.

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (19:17):
this next one is what I'm looking
forward to the most.

j_1_01-05-2025_193926 (19:20):
really?

ryan_1_01-05-2025_193926 (19:21):
Yeah, I love Harry Potter, but this
dark universe is going to beunlike anything we've seen at
either Universal or Disney.
you're going to have monsters, unchained the Frankenstein
experiment.
Dr.
Victoria Frankenstein puttingyou in the midst of an angry
