On this episode of Alopecia Connection, meet author, singer and songwriter Samuel Picou. Samuel developed alopecia at the age of 2, and eventually gained national notoriety as a 15-year-old contestant on the NBC's The Voice, Season 5. Samuel advanced all the way to the live audition in front of the celebrity judges. Although he wasn't selected by the judges, this experience led to additional opportunities for Samuel, including being a keynote speaker at the annual National Alopecia Areata Foundation conference.
More recently Samuel has dedicated his energies to pastoral work in the Los Angeles area, becoming a beacon of inspiration and positivity. Between mission trips, Samuel has also released his book "Beyond the Cover," which further details his journey of personal growth.
