Bert Emanuel Sr. began his collegiate football career at UCLA before transferring to Rice University, where he started as quarterback in his junior and senior years. Selected 45th overall in the 1994 NFL Draft, he played eight seasons in the league. The NFL’s “Bert Emanuel Rule,” defining a catch, has influenced both professional and high school football. Bert and his wife Teri, married for 30 years, have five children who have all excelled in athletics. For over 25 years, he has run BERT EMANUEL SPORTS, focusing on peak performance and life coaching to develop well-rounded athletes.
