Sandrine Ray's background spans the finance business world, professional and Olympic ice hockey, service as an Olympic advisor, and roles as a coach and chaplain (now with Athletes in Action). She was a pioneer with Team Switzerland women’s hockey, which narrowly missed qualifying for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics by just one goal in the final qualification game. The team did make its Olympic debut in Turin 2006, advancing to the quarterfinals after finishing second in Group A, but ultimately falling to Sweden and finishing 7th overall—highlighted by an 11–0 victory over host nation Italy. Sandrine, along with her trailblazing teammates, helped pave the way for Swiss women’s hockey, leading to Olympic qualification in Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014, where Switzerland captured a historic bronze medal. She currently works as a Coordinator with Athletes in Action (AIA) in Switzerland.
