Zaki (00:02):
What a perfect morning.
The grass is soft, the sky is
clear, and look at all thesejuicy berries. I think today
might just be my best foragingday yet. Delicious. And so many
of them.
Maybe I'll just keep a few ormaybe a few more. Okay. One more
(00:23):
won't hurt. What's that sound? It's coming from over there.
Oh no. It's a nest of tinysparrows and they're chirping
because they're hungry. Oh,dear. I've been so busy gobbling
up all these berries I didn'tthink about anyone else. I could
have shared.
Here you go, little ones. Iguess it's easy to forget
(00:45):
sometimes how lucky we are tohave so much. I should be more
grateful.
Meraj Digital presents (00:52):
The
Amazing Stories with Zaki the
Hoopoe. Episode 17, ProphetSaleh and the She Camel.
Salam, my wonderful friends. It's me, Zaki, your favorite
(01:14):
Hoopoe bird, back again withanother amazing adventure.
Today's story has somethingtruly extraordinary. A miracle
that left everyone speechlessand taught a lesson we can all
learn from. Today's story isabout a miracle that taught an
entire community those verylessons about jealousy, about
(01:34):
gratitude, and about humility.
It's about a prophet, a specialcommunity, and a camel that was
no ordinary camel. Oh, no, myfriends. This camel was a sign,
a message from Allah to remindpeople of what is right. But
before we get into the details, let's start from the very
beginning. You know my littlefriends, there are three very
(01:57):
important things to think abouttoday.
Jealousy, gratitude, andhumility. Jealousy, if you
remember from prophet Yousef'sstory, is when we feel upset
because someone else hassomething we want, like
attention or something special. It's okay to feel that way
sometimes, but it's what we dowith those feelings that
(02:18):
matters. Gratitude on the otherhand is when we feel thankful
for what we have like food, family, or even a sunny day. And
humility, that's aboutunderstanding that we're not
better than anyone else nomatter what we have.
These three things will be veryimportant in today's story.
(02:40):
Let's settle in my friends, because this story is one you
don't want to miss. A long timeago, there was a community
called the people of Thamud. They were wealthy, powerful, and
lived in homes carved intomountains. Can you imagine that?
Living inside a mountain. Theyhad everything they needed, but
(03:04):
there was one big problem. Theyforgot to be thankful to Allah
for all their blessings.Instead, they worshiped idols
and ignored the guidance of theprophets who came to them. Then
Allah sent them a prophet namedSalih, peace be upon him.
Hey, this is a new prophet forus. We haven't met prophet
Salih. Prophet Salih was wise, kind, and well respected. He
(03:27):
reminded the people of Thamud toworship Allah alone and to be
grateful for the amazing livesthey had been given. But do you
know what the people did?
They laughed. They ignoredprophet Salih and said, why
should we listen to you? You'reYou're just like us, a human. If
you're really a prophet, proveit to us with a miracle. Oh, and
(03:50):
before we go on, what's amiracle you ask?
A miracle is something soextraordinary and amazing that
it can only come from Allah. It's like when something
impossible suddenly happens, andit shows us Allah's power and
mercy. We've seen lots ofmiracles in our stories, haven't
(04:10):
we? Now here's where the storygets interesting. The people of
Thamud gathered and demanded avery specific sign.
They pointed to a large rock andsaid, if you are truthful, bring
forth a camel from this rock. Not just any camel, but a huge
beautiful one. Now that's notfair, is it? How could prophet
(04:30):
Saleh make a rock into a camel? It's like the people of Thamud
wanted prophet Saleh to fail.
They were asking him to dosomething that is impossible.
They were asking for a miracle. But prophet Saleh wasn't fooled
by this. He knew he couldn'tbring a camel from a rock. But
remember, prophet Saleh was aprophet.
So prophet Saleh prayed toAllah. And do you know what
(04:53):
happened next? The rock splitopen, and from it emerged a
magnificent camel, just as thepeople had described. It was
unlike any camel they had everseen. It was a miracle, a sign
from Allah.
The people of Thamud couldn'tbelieve their eyes. Prophet
(05:16):
Saleh told the people, thiscamel is a sign for you. Let it
graze freely and drink from thewater. But be warned, do not
harm it or Allah's punishmentwill come upon you. For a while,
the people of Thamud were amazedand respectful.
They let the camel drink fromthe well and roam freely. But
their hearts were still filledwith arrogance and jealousy.
(05:39):
They didn't like sharing theirfood and water with the camel,
and soon, they began to plotagainst it. Wait, who plots
against a camel? Seriously, it'sa camel.
Anyways. One dark night, a groupof them decided to harm the
(06:02):
camel. They thought they couldget away with it, but as soon as
they carried out their terribleplan, the earth shook with
Allah's anger. Prophet Salehwarned them, but it was too
(06:24):
late. The people of Thamud faceda great punishment.
And their beautiful homes in themountains broke and crumbled.
All those beautiful homes turnedinto rocks and dust. Oh my, they
(06:45):
were left empty as a reminderfor everyone who came after
them. What a story my friends. The story, my friends.
The people of Thamud hadeverything, but they forgot the
most important thing, gratitudeand obedience to Allah. Prophet
Saleh did everything he could toguide them, but they chose to
ignore him and harm themiraculous camel. Allah isn't
(07:06):
mean or unfair. But sometimeswhen people do very bad things
and don't listen, he teachesthem a lesson so others can
learn from it too. So what canwe learn from this story?
First, we should always bethankful for the blessings Allah
gives us. That's gratitude.Second, when we see something
amazing like the camel ofprophet Saleh, it's a reminder
(07:29):
to strengthen our faith andtrust in Allah. And let's not
forget humility, my friends.Prophet Salish stayed humble
even when the people of Thammudchallenged him, and he turned to
Allah for help.
As for jealousy, we saw againhow dangerous it can be. The
people's jealousy and arrogancestop them from appreciating the
(07:49):
miracle right in front of them.We should always strive to be
grateful, humble, and avoidjealousy. That's all for today,
my wonderful friends. But don'tfly away just yet.
Our next adventure is going tobe even more incredible. What
could it be about? Well, you'llhave to join me next time to
find out. Salam, and see yousoon.
(08:14):
Captain Sohail, what are you,how did you
Captain Suhail (08:18):
Caught yeh young
feathers.
Zaki (08:20):
You can't just barge in
like that.
Captain Suhail (08:22):
What in the
seven seas are ye doing, my good
man? I hear ye squawking in hereall day, talking to who exactly?
Some kind of secret meeting, isit? Are ye sending messages to
the parrots? Treachery.
Zaki (08:38):
What? No. I'm I'm I'm
recording a podcast.
Captain Suhail (08:42):
A what now?
Zaki (08:43):
A podcast, captain. It's
like telling stories to lots of
people at once, but they canlisten whenever they want.
Captain Suhail (08:50):
So you be
sending messages across the air
like a rogue wind whisperingsecrets to the world?
Zaki (08:58):
Well, I wouldn't call it
Captain Suhail (09:00):
It's just like
when I sent me messages in
bottles. Except instead ofbottles, ye be using, what?
Magic?
Zaki (09:10):
No. It's technology.
People record their voices, and
others can listen through theirdevices.
Captain Suhail (09:15):
Bah. Sounds
suspicious. Back in my day, if
you wanted a message spread, youeither carved it into a fine
plank of driftwood or shouted itfrom the crow's nest.
Zaki (09:27):
No. No. No. Stop touching
things. You'll ruin the
recording.
Captain Suhail (09:30):
Woah. Look at
this shiny red button. What
happens if I push
Zaki (09:36):
Don't push the red butt.
Stop.
Captain Suhail (09:40):
Hi.
Zaki (09:40):
Captain Sohail.
Captain Suhail (09:42):
What?
Ay. So, that button be importantthen? Yes. Well, it is settled
then. I officially declaremyself part of your, what did
(10:03):
you call it? Podquest?
Zaki (10:05):
Podcast. And no, you are
not
Captain Suhail (10:06):
Yes. Yes. I,
captain Sohail ibn al Bar, have
decided to join your podquest. Awise decision if I do say so
myself.
Zaki (10:16):
But I never
Captain Suhail (10:17):
Aye aye. We
start at dawn or sunset or
whenever ye squawk into thismagic voice box again. I shall
bring the sea shanties, and yeshall bring, well, whatever it
is you do.
Zaki (10:32):
I tell actual stories.
Captain Suhail (10:34):
Then it's
settled. Now, laddie, let's
discuss this enterprise. Wherebe the snack table? A captain
needs his strength.
Zaki (10:44):
I need a vacation.
Captain Suhail (10:46):
Oh, a pod quest
upon the 7 Seas where a hoopoe
and a captain tell grand taleswith glee.
