Zaki (00:02):
The sky looks empty today,
even though it's full of clouds.
Captain Suhail (00:06):
My lord, what's
this, A hoopoe looking glum? I
never thought I'd see the day.Did you finally lose a
storytelling competition, or didyou eat a bad worm?
Zaki (00:19):
No, captain Suhail. It's
nothing like that.
Captain Suhail (00:23):
You do look like
a bird who's lost his last worm.
Come now, out with it. What'sgot your feathers in a droop?
Zaki (00:31):
I just, I just miss my
mother. That's all.
Captain Suhail (00:33):
Oh, well,
that's, quite serious.
Zaki (00:38):
She's not gone forever or
anything. She's just on vacation
with my auntie. But I don'tknow. It just feels weird not
having her around.
Captain Suhail (00:46):
Well, well, I
thought this was a true tragedy,
but no. Your dear mother is justout on a grand voyage of her
own.
Zaki (00:57):
Yeah. I suppose.
Captain Suhail (00:58):
Humph. I
wouldn't know much about
mothers. I got separated frommine when I was just a wee
chick.
Zaki (01:06):
Oh, captain Suhail, I'm so
sorry.
Captain Suhail (01:09):
Ah, no need for
that young feathers. When I was
but a wee lad, I'd soar high onthe winds alongside me, dear
mother. I she'd fly fast, darting through the sky like a
bolt of lightning. I did my bestto keep up puffing out me little
chest, thinking myself a fineflyer. Until one fateful day, I
(01:34):
realized it wasn't me mother atall.
'Twas was an owl. A veryconfused owl. Turns out, he had
been desperately trying to shakeme off his tail.
Zaki (01:48):
What?
Captain Suhail (01:49):
I've had a fair
few grand adventures, my good
man. And though I never knew mymother, I like to think she's
out there somewhere, Stillsquawking as loud as I do. Most
likely louder. But, you know,Zaki, a mother's love is like
the wind. Sometimes you don'tsee it.
(02:11):
But you can always feel itguiding you, lifting you up when
you least expect it. Wow.Captain,
Zaki (02:20):
that is amazing. I don't
know what to say.
Captain Suhail (02:23):
That'd be a
first.
Zaki (02:24):
And you know, no matter
where our mothers are, they
always love us.
Captain Suhail (02:28):
Aye. That's
true. Now come now, dry those
feathers. Let me tell you aboutthe tale of how the seagulls
once ruled an ancient kingdombeneath the sea. I, the lost
city of Gullantis, builtentirely out of seashells and
forgotten wisdom.
Zaki (02:48):
Captain, that is not a
real place, and you can't even
live underwater.
Captain Suhail (02:52):
Not yet, my good
bird. Not yet.
Zaki (02:59):
Meraj Digital Presents the
Amazing Stories with Zaki the
Hoopoe. Episode 19, the Son ofMaryam.
Salam, my wonderful friends. It's me, Zaki, your favorite
(03:20):
Hoopoe, and I'm so glad you'rehere today. We have an
incredible story to tell, oneabout a woman of amazing
strength and faith, Maryam.
She was chosen for somethingmiraculous, something that
changed the world. But before westart, let's go over a few
important things especially formy younger listeners. First, do
(03:41):
you know what an angel is?Angels are special creations of
Allah. They are made of lightand they never disobey him.
They don't eat, sleep, or gettired. And they have special
jobs, some protect us, somedeliver messages, and some
record everything we do. We havemet a few of them. Remember
(04:01):
prophet Idris and his journey toJuna? Or maybe you remember the
angels who came to prophetIbrahim and Sarah to tell them
they were going to have a son.Or the last story about prophet
Adam and Hawa. They have beenshowing up in our stories a lot.
Captain Suhail (04:18):
Aye, Zaki. Ye
talk about angels like they be
something grand. But I sayseagulls are the true angels of
the sea. Always watching, alwaysswooping in unexpected, and
always making sure folksremember them, usually by taking
their food.
Zaki (04:36):
And kids, do you know who
the greatest angel of all is?
That's angel Jibril. He's theone who brings messages from
Allah to the prophets, and heplays a very important role in
today's story. So let's begin.
Captain Suhail (04:50):
Aye, a good
honest man, that old Gabe, fine
fellow, does great work. Well, Iguess he isn't really a man.
Zaki (05:04):
A long time ago, in a
quiet and peaceful place, there
lived a woman named Mariam. Shewas known for her goodness,
kindness, and deep devotion toAllah. Everyday she spent time
in prayer, always trusting inAllah's wisdom and plan.
Captain Suhail (05:21):
Ay, sounds like
a fine lass. But what was she
praying for? Riches, a goldennest.
Zaki (05:27):
No, Captain Suhail. She
wasn't praying for anything
selfish. She was dedicated toAllah alone. Her heart was pure,
and because of that, Allah choseher for something extraordinary.
Captain Suhail (05:39):
Aye. And when
Allah chooses you for something,
ye best believe it's big.
Zaki (05:45):
Exactly. One day, while
she was in deep reflection,
something incredible happened. An angel appeared before her.
Captain Suhail (05:53):
But are ye sure,
Zaki? Couldn't it have just been
a seagull with a penchant forthe theatrics? Many, great
thespian have come from ourflock.
Zaki (06:04):
It was angel Jibrael, and
he brought Maryam a message.
Maryam, Allah has chosen you fora great honor. You will have a
baby, and he will be a greatprophet. She was in complete
shock. How can I have a baby?
I am not married, she asked. ButJibreel assured her, this is
Allah's will. If he says be, ithappens.
Captain Suhail (06:24):
Aye. Allah's got
a way of making things happen.
That's for sure.
Zaki (06:31):
And so, Maryam traveled
far from her town feeling a mix
of emotions, honor, responsibility, and worry. She
found herself in a quiet, secluded place under the shade
of a palm tree where she rested. The journey had been long and
(06:52):
she was exhausted, but she knewthat Allah was with her. As she
sat beneath the tree, she couldfeel a gentle breeze, as if the
world itself was preparing forsomething incredible. Then, in
that peaceful moment, somethingtruly miraculous happened.
Her baby was born. A beautifulboy, Isa, came into the world, a
(07:17):
sign of Allah's power and mercy. Can you imagine, my friends, a
child born into the quietstillness surrounded by nature
with only the whispering windand the rustling leaves as
witnesses? It was as if theworld itself was celebrating his
arrival. Mariam, though tired, held her son close, feeling the
(07:39):
warmth of his tiny form.
Her heart swelled with love, butalso with questions. How would
she explain this? How could sheface the people back home? She
had no husband, no witnesses, only her unwavering faith in
Allah. And as she sat incontemplation, Allah provided
(07:59):
for her.
A voice called out, guiding herto shake the palm tree beside
her, and from it fell fresh, ripe dates. Water was made to
flow nearby, easing herexhaustion and giving her the
strength she needed. Thismoment, my friends, is a
reminder that Allah always takescare of those who trust in him.
(08:21):
Even when things seemimpossible, his help comes in
ways we never expect. And withthis new found strength, Mariam
wrapped her son in her arms andbegan her journey back to her
people.
Captain Suhail (08:32):
The town folk
weren't gonna take one look at
the baby and say, fair winds anda following sea. They'd want
answers.
Zaki (08:41):
Exactly. So Mariam did as
Allah commanded and returned to
her people in silence, carryingbaby Isa in her arms.
Captain Suhail (08:48):
And then boom,
the questions start flying
faster than a hungry gull at afish market.
Zaki (08:56):
Before Mariam could open
her mouth to answer any of their
questions, the most amazingthing happened. Baby Isa, just a
newborn, began to speak. He toldthe people, I am a servant of
Allah. He has given me a bookand made me a prophet. Can you
(09:18):
imagine the surprise everyonefelt when a small baby boy began
to speak?
I would have passed out.
Captain Suhail (09:23):
But you tend to
pass out quite a bit, mate.
Zaki (09:31):
As Isa grew up, he became
known for his wisdom and
kindness. Even as a child, hehad a deep understanding of
faith and love for Allah. Peoplearound him noticed that he was
no ordinary child. He carried asense of peace and understanding
far beyond his years. He wascompassionate to those in need,
(09:53):
always lending a hand to thepoor, the sick, and those who
felt lost.
By Allah's will, Isa was blessedwith miracles that astonished
those around him. He healed thesick with just a touch, made the
blind see, and even broughtpeople back to life.
Captain Suhail (10:11):
Jesus Christ.
Zaki (10:12):
Captain!
Captain Suhail (10:13):
Apologies, Zaki.
I only jest.
Zaki (10:15):
Anyways, imagine
witnessing such miracles with
your own eyes. But Isa's missionwas never about power. It was
about guiding people back to thepath of Allah, reminding them to
worship only him and to livewith kindness and justice. But
there was one more message thatIsa carried, one that pointed to
the future. He told hisfollowers that after him would
(10:38):
come another messenger, the lastand greatest of all.
A prophet who would bring thefinal guidance for all humans.
Can you guess who that might be?
Captain Suhail (10:48):
Another mystery.
The game is afoot, my dear man.
Zaki (10:52):
Exactly. But that's a
story for another time. Wow, my
fine feathered friends. What astory. There's so much to learn
from prophet Isa and his mother,Miriam.
Let's take a quick moment to goover what we discovered. First,
we saw the power of a mother'slove. Mariam faced many
hardships, but she trusted inAllah, and he never left her
(11:14):
side. Our mothers are some ofthe greatest blessings we have.
We should cherish and respectthem always.
Captain Suhail (11:21):
Aye. And we
learned that sometimes even the
mightiest miracles start with amother's care, even if she's
just keeping you from flyinginto a storm.
Zaki (11:32):
Exactly, captain. We also
learned about angels, how they
follow Allah's commands andbring messages to the prophets.
And, of course, we met angelJibrail again who had such an
important role in today's story.
Captain Suhail (11:45):
Oh, Gabe. That
scallywag makes you wonder if he
ever takes a break.
Zaki (11:50):
I don't think angels take
breaks, captain. And finally, we
learned about prophet Isa, hismiraculous birth, his kindness,
and the wisdom he shared. Butdon't worry, this was only an
introduction to prophet Isa. Wewill go deeper into his stories
in future episodes. He remindedhis people of the final
(12:10):
messenger to come, and that myfriends will lead us into our
next adventure.
Captain Suhail (12:15):
Bye. And this
time, it's about building things
with your own two wings orhands, proper hard work. None of
this fancy pants miraclebusiness.
Zaki (12:27):
Well, next time, we'll
hear about prophet Ibrahim and
his son Ismael buildingsomething holy and sacred in the
middle of the desert. A story ofdevotion, patience, and
teamwork. Until then, myfriends, stay curious, stay
kind, and always remember,Allah's wisdom is in everything
around us.
Captain Suhail (12:47):
And don't
forget, if you ever feel lost,
just follow the wind. Unless thewinds are taking you in the
wrong direction, then maybe agood map. Maps are handy.
