We will look at the Anglo-Powhatan wars and the effects they had on the English's perceptions of the native populations. Initially the English perceived the natives as "Noble Savages" but these wars turned that perception to a land where the natives were all treacherous heathens.
We will examine the puritans, their exodus from England and landing in the new world
we will review the development of the government commonwealth of Boston and the theo-centric society built within it.
We will take a look at the oligarchy forming within the commonwealth and their demand for a day of penance. This act was objected to by Rodger Williams, who had had a prior run in with the authorities of the commonwealth.
We will review the commonwealth's court and authority over the discipline of Roger Williams, leading to his eventual banishment from the commonwealth
We will be reviewing Roger Williams banishment from the commonwealth, and his founding of the settlement of province as a refuge for conscience.
We will be turning to the growing tensions within English society. Reviewing King James's reign and his relationship with parliament.
We will follow the growing rage of parliament and the religious radicals with in England leading up until the civil war.
We will cover the twists and turns of the English civil war.
We will take a look at the "plan" for Maryland and then the reality of the English civil war disrupting Maryland's society into what would late be called the "Plundering Times"
