Speaker 1 (00:00):
Andrew and Joe Loud Luxury.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
I know you guys are insanely busy doing a lot.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
We're gonna be chatting all about your smash. Are you down?
Speaker 2 (00:11):
We're also gonna find out what you are down for,
and we're gonna talk about your latest smash. Uh Oh,
Andrew and Joe Loud Luxury, Welcome back to America's Dance thirty.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
We just lost Joe I'm so.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Powerful and knocked over his iPhone. Good to see you, broth.
Thank you for having us been way too long.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Dance counting down the biggest dance songs in the country.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
This is America's Dance thirty.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Before we talk all about your music, you guys posted
a video recently where you were wrapping up your set
in Vain. Is you hopped in a car drove to
California to play the parts of replacement DJs for a
frat pledge. I know you guys have done multiple shows
(01:13):
in one day, but was that one of the craziest
things you did?
Speaker 4 (01:16):
That was a little bit of movie magic.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
See Andrew actually missed his flight in the morning, so
he drove, but I flew back to La so.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
I actually had some time to get in order some food.
It was a crazy show though, USC parties.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Let me tell you, definitely the first frat show we've
ever played where they had full on piro and confetti production.
It was literally like playing ADC. I couldn't believe it.
Frat budgets are out of hand.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
So crazy, and Joe, I can't believe you ruined that
for us. Next you're gonna tell me that Santa doesn't exist.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
I know.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
I'm not mad though about a drive, because I feel like,
as a DJ, because you have to fly everywhere, the
long drive, the art of it has been completely undervalued,
and it was actually really nice just driving through the
desert sunset.
Speaker 6 (02:00):
I haven't done that in a very long time.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
I agree. Over the weekend I drove down to see
my dad.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
It was like a three and a half hour drive
and it was actually great, Like I haven't done a
long drive like that in a long time. So yeah,
I get it. You guys have always been DJs of
the people. So if nobody has told you recently, thank
you for being awesome.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Oh, thank you awesome, Brian, Oh thank you for that back.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Speaking of awesome, congratulations on are you down going?
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Number one? Another number one? For you guys.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Another one, another one.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Now, let's talk about the major keys to this song?
Speaker 7 (02:37):
Then?
Speaker 1 (02:38):
How was are you downborn?
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (02:41):
Well, we have, as we have done many songs with Brando,
this there was another one of them.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
We've just been writing with him for a very long.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Time and he was on Body, and ever since then
we've made like thousand songs.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
So we made this one.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
It was the first song that we actually released because
we're signed with casta Blanker and Republic now, so that
was the first song we signed with that.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
We have a bunch of the.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Way and how long ago did you guys start working
on it?
Speaker 3 (03:14):
About a year ago, which would be enough. Is not
our longest gap between songs. I mean, we've had something
that we've put out that we've been sitting on for
three years, you know, just between the different people you
have to get to sign off on songs.
Speaker 6 (03:28):
So that was actually a faster one.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
But you know, it was really fun because we kind
of approached it the same way that we did with
regards to making Body, where we sort of wrote it
at a slower tempo as like a totally different type
of song to rework as a dance song, to almost
like sample it without actually sampling a song, So that's
always really fun to do creatively and you can see
the results of that in the song.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Yeah. Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Now, I don't know if you can answer this, and
all cut it out if you can't.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
But with you guys changing labels, is this something.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
That you guys had prior or was this like your
first go when you signed with the label?
Speaker 4 (04:07):
This is our first go, This is our first go
with the label.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Gotcha? Yeah, well, congratulations on that, Oh, thank you.
Speaker 5 (04:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
I was gonna say a big thing for both of
us vision wise was we're like, okay, first go with
the label. Let's literally do something that kind of plays
into classic loud luxury before we get the chance to
start exploring a bit more. And that's sort of what
we're doing with Oh in our outcoming releases is really
just pushing a couple different boundaries of stuff we wanted
to explore while still making it loud luxury.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
And that totally makes sense. And you mentioned uh oh
before we chat about that smash. Let's find out what
loud luxury would actually be down for. I'm just going
to give you some rapid fire says, tell me if
you'd be down for to not all right, all right,
are you down for skydiving?
Speaker 6 (04:51):
I already got it.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Why have I not seen the videos of that?
Speaker 6 (04:54):
It was because we had nothing better to do, But
there are videos of it live on our channel.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Scary, So you've only done it once?
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Only watch I loved it, but I feel like I
only need to do it once because more than that
feels like you're pushing your luck, if that makes sense,
especially for something not essential to your job.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
It's pretty scary.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Well, if it makes you feel any better, I've done
it like eleven or twelve times, so I guess. I
guess I'm really pushing my luck at this point.
Speaker 6 (05:21):
That you're like, oh, skydiving plans the next week. Thanks,
it's been.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Great knowing you guys. I could maybe go again, Joe,
next time you make it to Tampa. If you make
it to Tampa, we'll go.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Yes, yeah, right.
Speaker 6 (05:36):
Eighty thirty number one with skydiving in tandem.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
I love it now.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Would Loud Luxury be down to DJ a wedding when
the couple says that there could be no dance music, Yeah,
it would.
Speaker 6 (05:50):
Be nice to do a hip hop set, maybe some
old nineties R and B it'll be fun.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Now, would you guys be down forgetting matching tattoos with
a fan ying what?
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Andrew doesn't even care what it is?
Speaker 6 (06:07):
That's true. I probably should have asked that, but I
just assume it was something that we all like.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
And it's something that I get to choose.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Then maybe loud Luxury fans are going to see this
and start getting ideas right away for it.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Now.
Speaker 8 (06:18):
Bottom takeaway here as loud Luxury is down, absolutely, are
you down to spend a month without your phone or internet?
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Yeah? Totally get that out of here.
Speaker 6 (06:38):
Depending on the circumstances.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
So I can't access my boarding pass on my phone,
I don't know what time my flights take.
Speaker 6 (06:44):
Off, we'd be screwed.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
But if you're like, hey, go take a silent retreat
and it won't affect your career, hell yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
And you couldn't just print out the boarding pass.
Speaker 6 (06:53):
Everything else that I have to do. What am I
gonna do for Uber? Looking into my hotel disaster?
Speaker 1 (06:59):
It's so funny.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
When I was hanging with my dad, we were talking
about how we used to live without phones, Like.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
How I'm not trying I'm not trying to go back
to the nineties.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
My guy, I would have had to drive to USC
with a map.
Speaker 6 (07:11):
Quest for and just open my morning man.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
So and it would have been like this thick Yeah,
oh my god, it literally would have been.
Speaker 6 (07:20):
It would have been like those old map books you
had to buy exactly yea, oh my god. Wow, that's
a throwback to Wait.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
What did you say, I said, the garment.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Oh yeah, the GPS.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Absolutely, it's like not even a proper LCD screen. It's
like a calculator screen.
Speaker 6 (07:36):
Crazy.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
But hey, if you're telling us, like, you know, go
take a silent retreat without your phone, I'm down. But
living my life right now impossible.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Now finally, are you down to do a twenty four
hour non stop DJ set?
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Depending how much I get paid, we get a debreak
or or like a bedpan. That's how they do it, right,
Like when someone DJ's like five days, you have to
have a bedpan or something or diapers, right, yeah, yeah, yeah,
because there's no way otherwise unless you just take enough
substances that you don't have to pee.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
It's crazy, but I'm sure it would help that there's
two of you, so one could be djaying well, one
takes a little nap or goes to the bathroom and
the other one comes on to take over.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
That's a possibility.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
It could be like the twenty four hours of Daytona.
Speaker 6 (08:23):
Yeah, yeah, like Lemon. Yeah, it's ardent to be easier
as a duo. Is that not cheating what you think?
Speaker 1 (08:29):
I did research for these questions. Now we got to
do it.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Now, we got to figure out let's talk about your
latest smash. Uh oh before we get to that. You know,
I saw the performance that you guys did at MTV.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
It blew me away because I didn't.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Even know that MTV still did live in studio performances.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
All they do, and they do and and we we
went from LA to New York back to LA to
New York that weekend.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
That was a fun weekend. Holy crap onun weekend. I
mean it, Legit brought me back to like TRL days.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
It was really cool being in the same studio. And
just to build on what Joe was saying, that was
a really crazy week because we got the opportunity, not
super last minute, but our publicist was like, hey, do
you want to do like MTVS It's basically new extension
of TRL. You have to fly to New York take
a red eye in fly out that night, and then
like you.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
Did, we can only do it this day and we're like, okay, sure,
let's do it.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Yeah, And it was a weekend where we literally had
to play New York again on the Saturday, so we
didn't even get to stay in New York.
Speaker 6 (09:36):
We had to fly back to Vegas.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Well, it looked good, so it was worth it.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
It did look good.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
You're right, it did.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
It did look good. It looked very good.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
It looked really good. Let's talk about this smash. How
was oh born with Natalie Jane.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
Well, we've been working with her for like I don't know,
three or four years or something crazy, but nothing's ever
really come of it. Like we've always wanted to have
a song Taylor, but we did really like lock in
on something, and then she actually sent us the vocal.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
It was just one of those.
Speaker 5 (10:06):
Things where we were like, yeah, this is the one, Like,
let's go with this for sure.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
How long ago did you guys start working on it?
Speaker 7 (10:11):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (10:12):
Oh, only early summer.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Like it actually came together really fast, bit a bit artificially,
just because Natalie has a new album that she's coming
out with, so I feel like they were really excited
to get this out as a tease before the next album.
But we literally on our hard drives, have like three
other songs that we've never put out with Natalie. I
think this was just our favorite one, which is why
(10:36):
those other ones didn't make the cut.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Well, it came out perfect, so I'm glad you guys
chose this one to be the one with her us too.
Speaker 6 (10:42):
We really really love it. There's something excited about it
was cutting out No Joe the same time.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Yeah, you were talking all over Andrew, go ahead, wait,
are you frozen out?
Speaker 5 (10:55):
No question, I'm gonna be like talking, I'm gonna do this.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
I'm just gonna be.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Like, that's the screenshot I'm gonna use for the thumbnail.
Are you doing this to pay me back for something?
To make all the editing be like.
Speaker 7 (11:11):
Oh man, Yeah, genuinely, I'm genuinely struggling for my life
out here. My car is one thousand degrees because I
can't put the A C up too much because then
I won't you won't be able to hear me. And
I'm charging my phone which is at like ten percent
that's trying not to explode from overheating.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
And I'm overheating. I don't know if you could see,
but look.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
Oh my god, I'm sweating.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
I am sweating too.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Congratulations on uh oh, congratulations on are you down? Congratulations
on the huge Shrine show that's coming up this weekend.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
That's gonna be a good one.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
It's one of the few venues in North America that
has great service, but it also allows you to shoot
off fire inside.
Speaker 6 (11:51):
So we're really excited about that. We sold it out
last time and we're excited to run it back.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
That is amazing.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
And congratulations on the recent part with White Claw.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
That's awesome too.
Speaker 6 (12:02):
Oh thank you. I mean you boys like to drink,
so get right.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Well, congratulations on all of that.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Before I let you guys go, I asked chat ChiPT
to give me a question that Loud Luxury has never
been asked before, So I gotta test this out, all right, Ready,
what's one skill that you would trust the other with
in a zombie apocalypse?
Speaker 4 (12:25):
I have a great one.
Speaker 5 (12:26):
I would trust him to go forarge like hunting whatever.
Speaker 6 (12:31):
That hunting berries, you name it.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
And Andrew, what would you trust Joe to do in
a zombie apocalypse?
Speaker 3 (12:37):
Joe would easily be the best person to have on
your team for hand to hand or melee combat.
Speaker 6 (12:43):
He has like a really.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Crazy collection of swords, and I think he's been dying
for the day that he finally gets to use it
and all Ellipse would be the perfect opportunity to finally
lock in on that.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
The zombie apocalypse cannot come soon enough, is what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
If it means Joe I excuse to use all of
his knives and swords, well, Andrew and Joe, it is
always great seeing you guys.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
I really appreciate your time. Thank you for being with
us on America's Dance thirty.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Yeah, so good to reconnect man, and we appreciate all
the love and SaaS We love you.
Speaker 5 (13:18):
