Tim Hoffman obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, in 1973, completed his Master’s Degree at the University of Massachusetts and studied at Harvard University -- The Weatherhead Center for International Studies Fellowship. After 29 years in uniform, the West Point graduate retired from the Army in 2002 as Army colonel and served as a senior executive in the U.S. Department of Defense.
