One of the most enigmatic extinction events in history took place only a few decades ago in a tiny section of pristine habitat near Monte Verde Costa Rica. Shorty after its discovery, the Golden Toad (Incilius periglenes) suddenly disappeared without a trace. Leaving many to wonder what happened and why.
